Aim: To establish consensus on the priorities of nursing research in Qatar regarding nursing administration, nursing practice and nursing education for the years 2023-2033., Design: Classic Delphi format over three phases., Methods: The first phase involved a qualitative round where participants identified 10 research priorities. In phase two, the collected sentences were analysed and grouped into themes. Participants were then requested to rate these sentences based on their perceived importance. During phase three, participants received their individual responses, the consolidated group response from the second round, and were given the opportunity to agree or disagree with the group ranking. The panel of experts consisted of 32 participants who agreed to participate in all three rounds. They included a mixture of nursing academics, clinical managers and nursing directors from public sectors and nursing schools in Qatar., Results: The experts reached a consensus on the research priorities for Qatar. These prioritized topics focused on improving patient care outcomes, enhancing workforce development, strengthening nursing leadership, integrating technology to improve nursing and nursing education and promoting evidence-based practice., Conclusion: This research emphasizes the importance of progress in nursing to meet healthcare demands. Findings showed the need of future research to focus on improving nursing workforce and well-being, leadership styles and technology, and evidence-based practice and technology in nursing education., Impact: The impact of identifying nursing research priorities in Qatar will improve healthcare practices, fostering a culture of evidence-based care. Demonstrating impact is essential for hospital-based centers for pediatric nursing research and evidence-based practice. To meet this aim, the Center for Pediatric Nursing Research & Evidence-Based Practice at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia created a Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) database as a project engagement tracker to (1) capture all requests for consultation, and (2) summarize the Center's multi-professional consultants' engagement in diverse projects across our large pediatric health system. We implemented our REDCap project engagement tracker six years ago and continue to utilize it as a living database. Customized reports allow us to effectively manage our daily operations and communicate our reach and value to stakeholders internal and external to our organization. With REDCap's flexibility and ease of use, this project engagement tracker can be easily shared with like organizations. Background: Creating a research program is a critical requirement for new PhD-prepared tenure-track nursing faculty in Canada., Purpose: The purpose of this article is to present key findings of new faculty members focusing on facilitators and barriers to development of their research program., Method: We conducted focused ethnography research examining the experience of 17 new faculty members from across Canada., Results: The following themes were identified: teaching release, preparation from PhD program, intense feelings, supports and processes, mentoring, obtaining grants, and effects of the COVID-19 pandemic., Conclusions: Implications for practice include identifying ways to facilitate faculty retention as they develop their research program. The 20th century began a period of reform in nursing education and practice, with more nurses receiving advanced degrees and serving in key leadership roles throughout healthcare organizations. During this period, the transformation of the healthcare delivery system encouraged innovation and collaboration between academic nursing programs and other healthcare entities to develop partnerships based on a shared vision and goals. As a result, nurses are negotiating academic-practice partnership agreements and leading interprofessional teams to meet the needs of collaborating organizations. Aims: In 2018 the National Institute of Health and Care Research, United Kingdom, launched a 3-year Senior Nurse and Midwife Research Leader Programme to support nurse and midwifery research leaders to develop research capacity and capability within NHS organisations. We report the results of a service evaluation of the programme strengths, areas for improvement and achievement of programme aims., Design: Partially mixed, concurrent mixed methods programme evaluation, including: (a) meeting evaluation (survey), (b) annual evaluation (survey) and (c) qualitative stakeholder interviews., Methods: Survey results were quantitatively analysed using descriptive statistics. Interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed, deductively coded using elements within the logic model and analysed using the seven-stage framework analysis method., Results: Satisfaction with the programme was high (75%). The main perceived benefit of the programme was being part of a network. Challenges included accessing learning resources, lack of opportunity to network and lack of clarity about the programme aims. Meetings were evaluated as relevant and helpful (mean 93%), thought-provoking (92%), inspiring (91%), at the appropriate level (91%) and aligned with the programme aims (90%). All meetings were ranked as highly beneficial by attendees (92%). Stakeholder feedback on the programme success reflected the importance of leadership, the programme design and content, 'connection and community' and communication with and about the cohort. Overall, the anticipated programme aims were met, evaluating well from both the perspective of those on the programme and the wider stakeholder group. There has been a lack of investment in schemes to support research leadership development for nurses/midwives. A novel programme to support nursing/midwifery research leadership was positively evaluated. The programme is a useful model to support future capacity and capability building for nurses/midwives. Background: Biosocial approaches in nursing research have largely focused on the ways that social determinants of health influence individual-level outcomes, including symptom management, family and social support, and educational interventions., Purpose: Theoretical, methodological, and practical strategies are needed to expand current biosocial methods for nursing science and focus on upstream, structural determinants of health and the policies that underlie health inequities., Methods: This paper summarizes presentations given at the 2023 Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science Advanced Methods Conference, Biosocial Methods to Advance Health Equity, in a panel titled "Individual, community, systems and policy related to biosocial methods.", Discussion: Nurses are uniquely positioned to examine upstream, structural determinants of health by leveraging expertise in biosocial methods, collaborating with interdisciplinary researchers and community members, and advocating for policy change. Effective integration of research within healthcare organisations is recognised to improve outcomes. A research strategy within a hospital Trust in South West England was revised, following the launch of a national Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) strategy that promotes research engagement and activity. The aim was to develop, implement and evaluate this revised strategic plan for research. High-level engagement within the organisation was established and previous initiatives evaluated. A 6-year plan with 2-year targets was defined and evaluated at year end. The four pillars of the CNO strategy were central to the revised strategy, underpinned by digital innovation. Evaluation of the earlier strategy indicated excellent engagement with the Chief Nurse Research Fellow initiative and the Clinical Academic Network. The 'Embedding Research In Care' (ERIC) unit was reconfigured to an ERIC model, which aided question generation and project development. Year one objectives were achieved within the revised plan. Implementing a research strategy within an organisation requires a cultural shift and a long-term vision is required with measurable objectives. The team demonstrated significant progress through high-level leadership, mentoring and cross-professional collaboration.

A research fellowship geared toward registered practical nurses was designed to support the nurse's knowledge development in practice-based research. In this paper, we describe a six-month fellowship experience, which comprised research education, application and mentorship. Through the implementation of the research fellowship, we identified six components necessary for success, which include program infrastructure, application of training and leadership development. The research fellowship framework can support nurse leaders in the professional development of their nursing staff through building research capacity. Strengths-Based Nursing and Healthcare (SBNH) has garnered attention in the field of psychiatric nursing in Japan, yet its adoption in other nursing sectors remains limited. Japan is currently facing the formidable challenge of a rapidly aging population and growing demand for healthcare and welfare services. Background: The mid-career nurse scientist, defined as an associate professor with/without tenure, is often faced with a multitude of challenges and opportunities PURPOSE: This paper shares strategies to assist mid-career scientists as they juggle required career demands and navigate the mid-career phase in pursuit of the rank of full professor., Method: A review of the literature was performed on mid-career nurse scientists., Discussion: A combination of increased research responsibilities, increased institutional teaching and service demands, and dwindling support can result in a sense of overwhelm and burnout. Purpose: Organizational context influences the effect of facilitation efforts on research use in care settings. The interactions of these factors are complex. Therefore, the use of traditional statistical methods to examine their interrelationships is often impractical. Big Data analytics can automatically detect patterns within the data. We applied the chi-squared automatic interaction detection (CHAID) algorithm and classification tree technique to explore the dynamic and interdependent relationships between the implementation science concepts-context, facilitation, and research use., Design: Observational, cross-sectional study based on survey data collected from a representative sample of nursing homes in western Canada., Methods: We assessed three major constructs: (a) Conceptual research utilization (CRU) using the CRU scale; (b) facilitation of research use measured by the frequency of contacts between the frontline staff and a clinical educator, or person who brings new ideas to the care unit; and (c) organizational context at the unit level using the Alberta Context Tool (ACT). CHAID analysis was performed to detect the interactions between facilitation and context variables. Results were illustrated in a classification tree to provide a straightforward visualization., Findings: Data from 312 care units in three provinces were included in the final analysis. Results indicate significant multiway interactions between facilitation and various aspects of the organizational context, including leadership, culture, evaluation, structural resources, and organizational slack (staffing). Findings suggested the preconditions of the care settings where research use can be maximized., Conclusions: CHAID analysis helped transform data into usable knowledge. Management of secondary head and neck lymphoedema has undergone little research investigation. Its treatment is time and labour intensive and involves multiple therapeutic modalities without a clear understanding of which is most effective. This study aimed to determine the feasibility of a randomised controlled trial comparing two therapeutic modalities to manage head and neck lymphoedema. The secondary objective was to evaluate the clinical effects of these treatments. Participants were randomised to receive treatment with manual lymphatic drainage or compression over 6 weeks, with the primary outcome-percentage tissue water-measured 12 weeks after treatment. Six participants were recruited until the study was ceased due to restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Some 86% of required attendances were completed. Percentage tissue water increased in all participants at 12 weeks. No consistent trends were identified between internal and external lymphoedema. The small number of people recruited to this study informs its feasibility outcomes but limits any conclusions about clinical implications.

Background: Mid-career nurse scientists in academia face many challenges that can lead to burnout and exiting the profession. Finding ways to increase satisfaction and support will help retain these critical faculty in research positions., Purpose: Describe areas of satisfaction and challenges to success in the faculty role for mid-career nurse scientists in academia., Method: Cross-sectional, descriptive. A total of 65 self-identified mid-career nurse scientists completed an online survey., Findings: Mid-career nurse scientists were most satisfied with their role at their organization, least satisfied with time for research and opportunities to receive mentoring. They felt moderately supported by colleagues and deans, least supported by their ADR. Differences in satisfaction among nurse scientists in different levels of research institutions were noted., Discussion: Challenges to success in mid-career nurse scientists exist. Loss of nurse scientists at mid-career threatens to undermine the knowledge base of the individuals who mentor the next generation of scientists. Background: In the past two decades, many advances have been made to our understanding of interstitial lung disease (ILD) and the way we approach its treatment. Despite this, many questions remain unanswered, particularly those related to how the disease and its therapies impact outcomes that are most important to patients. There is currently a lack of guidance on how to best define and incorporate these patient-centered outcomes in ILD research. Objectives: To summarize the current state of patient-centered outcomes research in ILD, identify gaps in knowledge and research, and highlight opportunities and methods for future patient-centered research agendas in ILD. Methods: An international interdisciplinary group of experts was assembled. The group identified top patient-centered outcomes in ILD, reviewed available literature for each outcome, highlighted important discoveries and knowledge gaps, and formulated research recommendations. Results: The committee identified seven themes around patient-centered outcomes as the focus of the statement. After a review of the literature and expert committee discussion, we developed 28 research recommendations. Conclusions: Patient-centered outcomes are key to ascertaining whether and how ILD and interventions used to treat it affect the way patients feel and function in their daily lives. Ample opportunities exist to conduct additional work dedicated to elevating and incorporating patient-centered outcomes in ILD research.

Background: Preventing and managing chronic illness necessitates multilevel, theory-based interventions targeting behaviors, environmental factors, and personal determinants that increase risk for illness onset, greater burden, and poorer outcomes., Objectives: The purpose of this article is to provide the basis for multilevel interventions, describe community-engaged intervention mapping as an approach to designing theory-based interventions, and discuss potential benefits of applying community-engaged intervention mapping in preparing nurse scientists to build programs of interdisciplinary research in preventing and managing chronic illness., Methods: Community-engaged intervention mapping integrates two methodological approaches: intervention mapping and community-engaged research., Results: The six-step intervention mapping approach provides a logical structure for preparing nurse scientists in designing, adapting, and implementing multilevel, theory-based interventions. Community-engaged research approaches offer principles and direction for engaging patients, clinicians, community members, and other stakeholders throughout the research process. Integrating these methods retains the theoretical integrity of interventions; improves the relevance and timely completion of the research and its products; and enhances intended beneficiaries and the community's understanding, trust, and use of the results., Discussion: Potential benefits of preparation in community-engaged intervention mapping to nurse scientists and nursing science include explicit consideration of multilevel factors influencing health. Additional benefits include guidance for linking relevant constructs from behavior- and environment-oriented theories with evidence-based methods for affecting desired changes in care and quality of life outcomes. Background: Intervention studies are used widely in nursing research to explore the efficacy of intervention programs for changing targeted health outcomes. However, the analyses of such studies have focused predominantly on their main intervention effects; most studies ignore the mechanisms underlying how the intervention programs work partly because of lack of application details of the longitudinal mediation analysis techniques., Objectives: The aim of this study was to illustrate an application of parallel process latent growth curve modeling (PP-LGCM) to examine longitudinal moderated mediation effects., Methods: Longitudinal data from an online bone health intervention study were used to demonstrate the step-by-step application of PP-LGCM with Mplus statistical software., Results: With modification indices, we were able to achieve adequate model fit for PP-LGCM in our data. The mediation effects of self-efficacy on the intervention effects on exercise were nonsignificant for the entire sample. Background: Military nurse scientists are embedded in service-affiliated branches (Army, Navy, Air Force) with different missions, but with the singular purpose of generating and disseminating research impacting the health and well-being of DoD beneficiaries., Purpose: This project examines collaboration among TriService Nursing Research Program (TSNRP) members, seeking opportunities to strengthen, diversify, and expand research collaboration., Method: Social network analysis (SNA) is the empirical inquiry of relations among social actors at different levels of analysis. Background: The global COVID-19 pandemic has brought numerous challenges for conducting the human subjects research needed to advance science and improve health., Objectives: The purpose of this article is to discuss how a college of nursing at a large public university in the southeast United States has responded to the challenges of conducting research during the novel COVID-19 pandemic., Methods: Seven faculty researchers at the University of South Carolina College of Nursing share their experiences in overcoming the unique challenges of conducting research because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Strategies to overcome the challenges posed by COVID-19 are presented within the context of the research process, career implications, communication, and maintaining morale., Results: Fears of COVID-19 and social distancing measures have hindered participant recruitment, enrollment, and involvement in ongoing studies. Increasing virtual technology use and enhancing safety precautions have assisted researchers to overcome barriers. Scholarly writing has increased for some faculty members whose studies have been stalled by the pandemic, yet others have seen a decline because of additional personal responsibilities. The careers of faculty members across all ranks have been uniquely affected by the pandemic. With most faculty working remotely, enhanced communication strategies at the university and college have supported the research enterprise. Morale has been adversely affected, but a variety of personal and collegial efforts have helped faculty cope and preserve a sense of normalcy during this devastating pandemic., Discussion: Faculty and their ability to conduct the research needed to inform clinical and public health practice have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Increasingly, nurse executives are embracing evidence-based practice (EBP). Yet, it takes 17 years to move only 14% of research evidence into practice. Implementation science (IS) aims to reduce this gap through the study of factors that influence dissemination, adoption, implementation, and sustainability of evidence-based interventions. Background: Nurses are a difficult population to recruit for research. Barriers to recruitment of nurses include survey fatigue, hospital structures and institutional review boards as gatekeepers to accessing participants, and limited generalizability of findings. Social media present innovative opportunities to recruit participants for survey research. However, there is limited information about best practices for recruiting nurses through social media., Objectives: The aim of this report was to examine the advantages and disadvantages of and determine the best practices for recruiting nurses for survey studies via social media., Methods: We examined recruitment strategies of three survey studies involving nurse participants. Each study used social exchange theory and leverage-saliency theory to guide recruitment. The studies included were (a) the Travel Nurse Onboarding Study, which recruited participants from a single closed group on Facebook; (b) the Presenteeism and Nursing Study where participants were recruited using association listservs, healthcare organizations, and paid ads and postings on social media; and (c) the Pain and Nursing Study in which participants were recruited through social media, association listservs, and in person at conferences., Results: Social media offer accessible, low-cost, high-yield approaches to recruitment of nurses for survey studies., Discussion: Useful strategies for crafting effective recruitment via social media are presented, including how, where, when, and how often to post. The generalizability of social media research is also discussed. Suggestions are provided for researchers using social media as well as guidelines for institutional review boards to address gray areas of social media research. Background: Conceptual frameworks are central to doctoral nursing theses; they include the pragmatic and philosophical elements of the research design and their interrelationships. While the research process may seem to stem in a straightforward, linear manner from the research question, it is a more complex iterative enterprise., Aim: To build on Durham et al ( 2015 ) by reviewing the ostensibly static nature of research design and associated philosophical elements of the conceptual framework, reconsidering these in relation to the iterative nature of the research process, and translating these into implications for presenting the final draft of a doctoral nursing thesis., Discussion: All doctoral nursing theses will have limitations and experience difficulties. They do not follow a rigid, sequential process with a defined start and end, but progress tentatively, with the relationship between the elements of the research design and philosophical assumptions following an iterative process., Conclusion: The research design element of the conceptual framework of doctoral nursing theses should reflect the iterative reality of the process and the associated interrelationships that occur., Implications for Practice: The absence in doctoral nursing theses of a full description of the philosophical and iterative processes of the research architecture and conceptual framework weakens the transparency of the research. Background: Using a theoretical framework is often viewed as laborious or unnecessary for higher degree research projects. However, considering research problems through the lens of a theoretical framework can provide a structure for students to focus their research questions and produce findings that are more likely to address the research problem., Aim: To explain the utility of a theoretical framework and demonstrate the inclusion of a theoretical framework - deterrence theory - in a research project exploring plagiarism in nursing education., Discussion: The experiences of a higher degree research student provided insight into the inclusion of a theoretical framework in a research plan. The benefits of this process are highlighted so other students can appreciate the importance of this process to their research plan and findings., Conclusion: A framework can add value to the overall research plan, from developing the research question through to the analysis and presentation of research findings. Fundamentally, frameworks provide a map for a study, providing a rationale for the development of the research questions or research hypothesis. A theoretical framework brings cohesion to the research project by linking the research questions and providing 'intellectual bins' for data analysis and presentation of research findings., Implications for Practice: This article may assist higher degree research students in recognising the benefits of using a theoretical framework and provides an example of a 'real-life' application in a research project. Background: Building research capacity in nursing academic units continues to be a challenge. There are a number of external contextual factors and internal factors that influence individual faculty as well as the collective to engage successfully in research., Purpose: The overall aim of this opinion article is to provide an overview of the current external and internal, processes and structures, relevant to capacity of nursing faculty to engage in research., Methods: To inform the external context, we reviewed national research funding trends for nursing. To inform the internal context, we provided an exemplar of the internal processes and structures designed to support research capacity building within our academic unit., Results: Canadian Institutes of Health Research funding trends for research grants led by nurse principal applicants increased between 2010 and 2013, followed by a steady decline. In 2017 to 2018, there were only 24 research grants led by nurse principal applicants. These external challenges coupled with the traditional internal barriers, such as the imbalance between teaching and research time, threaten research capacity for nursing academics., Conclusion: Organizational strategies to promote research capacity within academic nursing units are a necessary requirement to move forward.

Introduction: Participation on a collaborative team is an attractive option for conducting research, especially in pediatric hematology/oncology nursing, where the patient population is small. The Consortium to Study Symptoms in Adolescents and Young Adults with Cancer (CS 2 AYAC) is a nursing research team that has been in existence for over a decade. Purpose: The authors share the process by which CS 2 AYAC formed and describe key features that contribute to its sustainability. Results: While the team developed organically rather than via the tenets of team science, key aspects of success include principles related to mentorship, communication, building trust, establishing shared goals, and managing conflict. Conclusions: This description of one team's experience may help other nurses build their own teams for research. Strong, collaborative research teams will advance pediatric hematology/oncology nursing science and scholarship and can be an important source of collegiality and support.

Background: Chronic diseases, such as opioid use disorder (OUD) require a multifaceted scientific approach to address their evolving complexity. The Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science's (Council) four nursing science priority areas (precision health; global health, determinants of health, and big data/data analytics) were established to provide a framework to address current complex health problems., Purpose: To examine OUD research through the nursing science priority areas and evaluate the appropriateness of the priority areas as a framework for research on complex health conditions., Method: OUD was used as an exemplar to explore the relevance of the nursing science priorities for future research., Findings: Research in the four priority areas is advancing knowledge in OUD identification, prevention, and treatment. Intersection of OUD research population focus and methodological approach was identified among the priority areas., Discussion: The Council priorities provide a relevant framework for nurse scientists to address complex health problems like OUD., (Copyright © 2020 Elsevier Inc. Purpose/background: The Parent Educational Discharge Support Strategies (PEDSS) nursing study includes 16 magnet pediatric oncology institutions across the United States and one in Saudi Arabia, evaluating a nurse-led parent educational discharge support strategy for families experiencing a child newly diagnosed with cancer., Methods: During the first 3 months of the study, a research implementation survey was administered electronically to each site principal investigator to evaluate facilitators and barriers in the research process for this multisite nurse-led pediatric oncology study., Results: Facilitators included nursing leadership support and commitment from the nursing staff. Common barriers reported were the Institutional Review Board process, the consent process, the timing of the intervention, data collection, as well as nursing time for the study. Results from the survey suggest nurse-led research teams were motivated and felt the intervention was easy to deliver., Practice Implications: Nursing practice is enhanced when nurses participate in research and generate evidence regarding best practices within pediatric oncology nursing care., Conclusion: Nursing research endeavors focusing on collaborative approaches for implementation can lead to successful nursing studies with careful planning, training and administrative support., (© 2020 Wiley Periodicals LLC.)

Nursing research involves much planning and attention to details, yet novice and seasoned nurse researchers often overlook the day-to-day operations required to conduct research studies. Project management is a set of iterative steps that can facilitate the process of conducting nursing research. In this paper we aim to provide an overview of project management and identify ways in which its specific principles and strategies may be applied to facilitate nursing research. Here we give an overview of our current longitudinal study using a Solomon four-group design and illustrate how we applied strategies and tools from the project management literature. In addition, we offer descriptions and illustrations of several other project management tools that could have been used in specific phases of this research project. We encourage nurse educators and researchers to familiarize themselves with the principles of project management and consider using them in future studies., (Copyright © 2020. Background: Mapped with the guiding principles of academic-practice partnerships (APPs) outlined by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and the American Organization for Nursing Leadership, a joint nurse scientist role between a nursing school and acute care facility at a large academic health center was developed and characterized by a PhD-prepared nurse appointed in a research role across organizations. To date, eight faculty are now appointed across the School and four health systems., Purpose: Describe outcomes, facilitators and vulnerabilities of the joint nurse scientist role., Methods: Review of administrative records., Discussion: Outcomes include the 1) conduct and dissemination of joint research, 2) translation of evidence into practice, 3) development of educational programs for health system nurses, 4) scholarly activities among health system nurses, and 5) improved visibility and valuation of the PhD-prepared nurse. Role facilitators include those previously reported for APPs, the joint nurse scientists' ability to broker opportunities across settings, and the evolving nature of the role. Role vulnerabilities pertain to the negotiation of workload, promotion, and institutional priorities., Conclusion: The joint nurse scientist role fosters shared scholarly successes across academia and service., (Copyright © 2019. Background: Engagement of frontline practitioners by academic researchers in the research process is believed to afford benefits toward closing the research practice gap. However, little is known about if and how academic researchers engage nurses, midwives, or therapists in research activities or if evidence supports these claims of positive impact., Method: A scoping review was undertaken using the Arksey and O'Malley (2005) framework to identify the extent to which this phenomenon has been considered in the literature., Results: An iterative search carried out in CINAHL, Pubmed, Medline, and Embase retrieved 32 relevant papers published 2000 to 2017, with the majority from the last 2-years. Retained papers described or evaluated active engagement of a practitioner from nursing, midwifery, and therapy disciplines in at least one stage of a research project other than as a study participant. Engagement most often took place in one research activity with few examples of engagement throughout the research process. Limited use of theory and variations in terms used to describe practitioner engagement by researchers was observed. Subjective perspectives of practitioners' experiences and a focus on challenges and benefits were the most prominently reported outcomes. Few attempts were found to establish effects which could support claims that practitioner engagement can enhance the use of findings or impact health outcomes., Conclusion: It is recommended that a culture of practitioner engagement is cultivated by developing guiding theory, establishing consistent terminology, and building an evidence base through empirical evaluations which provide objective data to support claims that this activity can positively influence the research practice gap., (© Copyright 2020 Springer Publishing Company, LLC.)

Background: Missing data are an inevitable reality in research. Nurse educators can promote proactive thinking about this topic to help avoid excessive missingness. The purpose of this article is to encourage nurses to view missing data as an accepted reality and to consider strategies for anticipating and minimizing missing data throughout the research process., Method: The common causes of missing data and ways to minimize their occurrence are discussed, along with suggestions for adopting a statistical mindset about missing data. Rubin's framework for missingness as a random process, modern statistical methods for analyzing missing data, and recommendations for reporting also are discussed., Conclusion: Nurse educators and researchers should understand all aspects of missing data, including the types, occurrence, causes, potential problems, and strategies for preventing, handling, and reporting missing data.
