Local foods are one of the cravings of travelers wanting to experience the joys of domestic tourism. Some of the other reasons tourists visit a place is to experience the lifestyle, and culture. Besides these motivational factors, tourist visit places based on word -of- mouth and their own past experiences. The state of Kelantan, Malaysia is identified as a vibrant tourist destination as it has beautiful natural environs and has a rich and diverse cultural heritage that is easy to promote to tourists. Kelantan is also well known for its local cuisines that can attract the foodies. The uniqueness of the local cuisine also influences tourists to make other purchases. Using the quantitative research approach, this study aims to identify the relationship between food quality, price, and service quality towards the tourists intention to purchase local cuisine in Kelantan. These three independent variables will have a different role in explaining the factors that influence a tourist’s intent to purchase Kelantanese foodstuff.

Presently, the Internet plays a vital role in the life of society. It has also changed the way people travel by providing cheaper, easier and more efficient prices. Recognizing the significant impact of travel applications on the tourism sector, researchers have focused on studies that determine the intention of tourists to use tourism applications. In addition, among the consumer behavior models used to study the tourism sector, is the Unified Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model which is a common and new model today. Therefore, the existing study is expected to evaluate the intention of locals to use mobile travel applications based on the UTAUT model. Self-administered questionnaires were distributed to 390 millennials in Malaysia of which IBM SPSS 24 version was selected for data analysis. Studies show that the UTAUT variable is related to behavioral intentions. This study contributes to a new perspective on the use and choice of mobile applications, especially in the context of tourism. It also offers practical application implications for mobile app developers for mobile app feature design, most likely for travelers.

This study explores the involvement of Malaysian indigenous peoples (Orang Asli) at both the individual and community level to analyse the impact of tourism development on the economic and socio-cultural aspects of their communities. The study was conducted at two tourism sites, Bukit Tadom and Cameron Highlands. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 14 participants from the Orang Asli community and Orang Asli employees and management at the sites. Data were thematically analysed. Orang Asli communities recognised the opportunities that tourism development brings to their social and economic conditions, although it is not wholly beneficial. They also want to be actively involved in tourism planning. The study contributes to the development of indigenous peoples, especially in Malaysia, promoting a new perspective on long-term tourism development. It also highlights several new considerations that should be addressed by the authority in planning and managing tourism sites, especially in regard to community acceptance, involvement and demand for benefits.
