The use of super insulating materials in the construction industry, including vacuum insulation, closely corresponds to the ever-increasing requirements for the construction of low-energy and passive buildings. Their indisputable advantage is their excellent thermal insulation properties at low thickness compared to conventional thermal insulation materials. However, there are also many risks associated with the experience and practice of the personnel involved in the application of these materials to structures. The paper focuses on the overall comparison of the possible use of vacuum insulation panels in modern building structures in terms of possible design solutions and achieved properties. The paper presents the results of selected case studies of the optimal use of vacuum insulation panels (VIP) in the construction industry, which are focused on different areas of building structures, specifically on the detail of the transition of the terrace and the adjacent floor, as well as on the solution of the filling of openings - doors. Based on the results of the studies carried out, it can be concluded that, provided that all procedures for maintaining the VIP properties are followed in the implementation of these materials in structures, vacuum insulations represent a more suitable solution for structural details in selected details (less thickness and comparable thermal insulation properties compared to conventional insulations)., Využití super izolačních materiálů ve stavebnictví, mezi které patří mimo jiné vakuové izolace, úzce koresponduje se stále zvyšujícími se požadavky na výstavbu nízkoenergetických a pasivních staveb. Jejich nespornou výhodou jsou výborné tepelně izolační vlastnosti při nízké tloušťce při porovnání s běžnými konvenčními tepelně izolačními materiály. Avšak existuje zde také mnoho rizik spojených se zkušenostmi a praxí pracovníků při provádění aplikace těchto materiálů do konstrukcí. Příspěvek se věnuje celkovému srovnání možného využití vakuových izolačních panelů v novodobých stavebních konstrukcích z pohledu možných konstrukčních řešení a dosahovaných vlastností. Článek prezentuje výsledky vybraných případových studií optimálního využití vakuových izolačních panelů (VIP) ve stavebnictví, které jsou zaměřeny do různých oblastí stavebních konstrukcí, konkrétně se jedná o detail přechodu terasy a navazující podlahy a dále pak o řešení výplně otvorů – dveří. Na základě výsledků provedených studií lze konstatovat, pokud budou dodrženy při realizaci těchto materiálů do konstrukcí veškeré postupy pro zachování vlastností VIP, že vakuové izolace představují ve vybraných detailech vhodnější řešení konstrukčních detailů (menší tloušťka a srovnatelné tepelně izolační vlastnosti, při porovnání s konvenčními izolacemi).

This study is devoted to the possibility of using advanced insulation materials, such as Vacuum Insulation Panels (VIP), in the insulation and reconstruction of buildings, in connection with the green elements that are installed on the facade in the case of the use of external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS). The use of VIP as part of the insulation system will result in a significant reduction in the required thickness of the insulation layer. In turn, the reduced overall thickness of the system will allow for easier direct anchoring of the elements of the green facade through the insulating layer to the base of the structure. The research carried out proves that, by using VIP in the insulation system (with a VIP thickness of 30 mm in combination with 20 mm of extruded polystyrene XPS), the thermal insulation properties can be significantly improved and, thus, the thickness of the insulation system can be reduced to 1/3 of the thickness of conventional insulation (while achieving the same thermal resistance), thereby enabling the anchoring of green elements on the surface of such an insulation system.

The need for the development of new, advanced building materials increases every year, especially due to the necessary diminution of energy performance for building structures and for building production itself (including the production of building materials). Along with the energy performance problems in construction, the issue of CO2 emission associated with building and the production of building materials is also important. In the field of advanced thermal insulation materials, vacuum insulation panels (VIPs) give the best results. However, their high-energy performance and material consumption present a problem. This work represents an initial part of the development of alternative insulators, based on agricultural and textile industry waste usable in the production of VIP. This article recapitulates basic knowledge regarding key thermal insulation properties of developed insulators and their fire reactions, which impact possible usage in building structures, Potřeba vývoje nových, vyspělých stavebních materiálů se každým rokem zvyšuje, zejména v důsledku nezbytného snížení energetické náročnosti stavebních konstrukcí a samotné stavební výroby (včetně výroby stavebních materiálů). Spolu s problémy s energetickou náročností ve stavebnictví je důležitá také otázka emisí CO2 souvisejících se stavbou a výrobou stavebních materiálů. V oblasti pokročilých tepelně izolačních materiálů poskytují vakuové izolační panely (VIP) nejlepší výsledky. Jejich energetická náročnost a spotřeba materiálu však představují problém. Tato práce představuje počáteční část vývoje alternativních izolátorů založených na zemědělském a textilním odpadu použitelném při výrobě VIP. Tento článek shrnuje základní znalosti o klíčových tepelně izolačních vlastnostech vyvinutých izolátorů a jejich reakcích na oheň, které mají vliv na možné využití ve stavebních konstrukcích.

The research is focused on two main points. The first point discusses the water steam condensation on the surface of ETICS and the phenomenon associated biocide assaults. In the second point, we focused on warming ETICS with the using of vibrant shades. Practical experiments have shown a positive effect of PCM on the heat-storage properties of the ETICS base coat. It was also experimentally verified that the PCM sample did not condense water vapor on the sample surface compared to the reference sample.

In recent years, many researchers have addressed the issue of interior climate and how it affects human health. Investigations performed at schools and office buildings have found that CO2 concentrations often exceed the limit value of 1500 ppm given in Decree No. 20/2012 Coll., on technical requirements for buildings. In addition, interior space often exhibits very low relative humidity. This results in poor conditions that are detrimental to human health and not conducive to studying and work. One means of improving the interior microclimate is implementing green walls. These walls can help generate a much better climate and greatly enhance the mental well-being of the inhabitants. In addition, they greatly improve dust levels and acoustics in the room. The research compared the interior conditions in two classrooms at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Brno University of Technology. One had a green wall installed while the other was in its original configuration. CO2 concentration, temperature, and relative humidity were measured. A survey was conducted to assess the influence of the green wall on students and teachers (mental well-being, efficiency, productivity, creativity, etc.). Results obtained thus far show that the room with the green wall provides far better interior conditions, mainly in terms of lower CO2 concentration and higher relative humidity, improving students’ and teachers’ mood and health (as confirmed by the survey as well)., V posledních letech se často řeší otázka podmínek prostředí v interiéru, které mají významný vliv na lidské zdraví. Při provedených průzkumech ve školních zařízeních a administrativních budovách bylo často zjištěno, že koncentrace oxidu uhličitého velmi často převyšoval limitní hodnotu 1500 ppm dle vyhlášky č. 20/2012 Sb., o technických požadavcích na stavby. Dále velmi často byla v interiérech stanovena velmi nízká relativní vlhkost. Z tohoto důvodu pak dochází ke zhoršení podmínek pro studium, práci, která má také negativní dopad na lidské zdraví. Jedním z řešení pro zlepšení mikroklimatických podmínek v interiéru může být aplikace zelených vertikálních stěn. Tyto stěny vytváří v interiéru vhodné klimatické podmínky a mají významný vliv na duševní pohodu lidí, kteří v interiéru pobývají. Dále významně ovlivňují prašnost a akustické podmínky v místnosti. V rámci výzkumných prací bylo provedeno porovnání podmínek prostředí interiérů dvou učeben na Fakultě stavební, Vysokého učení technického. V jedné učebně byla provedena aplikace zelené stěny a druhá byla ponechána v původním stavu. Bylo provedeno měření koncentrace CO2, O2, dále stanovení teploty a relativní vlhkosti. Pro zjištění vlivu zelené stěny na samotné studenty a učitele (psychická pohoda; efektivita, produktivita, kreativita práce; a další) byla vytvořena anketa. Na základě průběžných výsledků měření lze konstatovat, že učebna se zelenými prvky poskytuje významně lepší mikroklimatické podmínky v interiéru, zejména obsah CO2 je zde nižší, relativní vlhkost prostředí je vyšší v porovnání s učebnou bez zelené stěny, což má vliv na zdraví a pohodu studentů i učitelů, což dokazují i výsledky ankety.

One of the possible methods to reduce degradation effects due to the influence of moisture on building structures and materials is the use of hydrophobic agents - hydrophobization. The article deals with the influence of the hydrophobic preparations use on the change of mortar mixtures properties, where not only the impact on capillary absorption, but also other key properties which can be influenced by the application of the hydrophobic agent, are monitored. By realizing a wide range of measurements, optimal concentrations were determined to achieve properties comparable with the rehabilitation materials without negative effect on other key properties of mortar mixtures, when is mainly a significant reduction of the capillary absorption factor of mortar mixtures only at tiny changing the thermal conductivity factor of the mortar mixtures and without proved changing the other monitored properties.

Here we discuss materials and construction of particular solar cells that could be possible replacement for the current silicon-based photovoltaic cells, and methods of studying their performance. Solar cells based on the general perovskite structure (ABX3) attracted in recent years much attention. These materials, due to the possible variability of both cations and anions in their composition, offer almost endless possibilities for synthetic preparation. For the active layer of a solar cell is often used the CH3NH3PbI3-2Cl2 perovskite structure, i.e., a structure containing an organic component. We have built photovoltaic cells with such an active layer and tested them by static and dynamic methods using the unique photoelectric research instrument by Zahner using the method CIMPS (Controlled Intensity Modulated Photocurrent Spectroscopy).

The requirements placed on the thermal protection of buildings are becoming stricter worldwide, which causes an increased demand after thermal insulation materials. One of the ways of achieving sustainable development in this area is the use of secondary and renewable raw materials. This paper describes the results of research aimed at developing and studying the behaviour of thermal insulation materials made with recycled textile fibers.

The paper deals with the possibilities of utilization of alternative raw materials from the textile industry for the production of vacuum insulation panels with extremely low thermal conductivity value. The paper presents current research findings on the behavior of fibrous structures on an organic basis at extremely low pressure. In addition, the paper presents the practical findings and results of experimental work in the production area and the behavior of vacuum insulation panels with an alternative core insulator based on organic fibers., Článek se zabývá možnostmi využití alternativních surovin textilní průmysl pro výrobu vakuových izolačních panelů s extrémně nízkým tepelným výkonem hodnota vodivosti. Článek představuje současné poznatky z výzkumu chování vláknitých vláken struktury na organické bázi při extrémně nízkém tlaku. Kromě toho se v příspěvku uvádí praktické poznatky a výsledky experimentální práce ve výrobní oblasti a chování vakuových izolačních panelů s alternativním jádrovým izolátorem na bázi organických vláken.
