International audience; Much academic research on migrant mothers focuses on mothers who are separated from their children, often through their integration into global care chains, or on mothers within the context of family migration. This paper argues that co-resident migrant mothers’ experiences provide an important window on the complexities of the migration experience. Using a specific case study of Ireland, and drawing from a broader longitudinal research project that focuses on recent migrants, the paper explores migrant mothers’ understandings and experiences of belonging and not-belonging. We argue that structural obstacles and cultural understanding of care actively conspire to undermine migrant mothers’ potential to develop place-belongingness. Interviewees’ discussions of their status as full-time mothers were often framed through images of ideal motherhood, but equally highlighted how the absence of affordable childcare and family members isolated them and prevent them from creating a sense of belonging outside of the process of mothering and the home.

Ivo Andrić je pisac koji je svoj ispripovijedani svijet smjestio u 'međuprostor' dodirivanja nekoliko različitih identitetskih 'čvrstih' obrazaca. U sredinama koje su podložne čvrstim, jednoobraznim dijakronijskim uokvirivanjima unutar vlastita niza, bilo je mnogo pokušaja da se ovog autora svrsta u određenu kategoriju i pridoda mu se atribut 'srpskog', 'hrvatskog' ili 'bošnjačkog' pisca, kojega bi se, tako smjestilo unutar određene književne dijakronije. Andrić je, međutim, stvorio poziciju nepripadanja koju je prakticirao i izvan teksta, životom u mnogim gradovima, izjavama i svjetonazorom koji je uokvirio poetiku njegovih tekstova. Tako je otvorio prostor hibridizacije identiteta, postkolonijalnog propitivanja drugog i kritičke valorizacije 'čvrstih mjesta' strukturiranja sustava. Pitanje tog identiteta promatra se ovdje u odnosu na slične pojave unutar anglo-keltskih književnosti i postokolonijalne kritike, te se kao teorijska osnova nameće knjiga Homija Bhabhe Lokacija kulture u kojoj se upravo raspravlja o ovakvom tipu 'pozicioniranja između'., Ivo Andric is the author who placed his narrated worlds in a space ‘in between’, in relation to different models of identification. In the environment that is framed by very clear paradigms of national identification(s), many attempts were made to frame Ivo Andric in one particular national literary history, being it Serbian, Croatian or Bosnian. At the same time Andric, with his narrative tactics, positioned himself in between the cultures and becoming the other in text and in extra-textual tactics. In this way he opened the possibilities of constructing the hybrid identity, postcolonial questioning of the other, and he also questioned the structure of tradition and authority in regards to the narration of nation. By opening the questioning of the constructed constructs in his texts and positioning, Andric also opened the possibility of language games where others are put in a position to participate. The teoretical background of this work is in Homi Bhabha's book The Location of Culture and in comparing the situation of anglo-celtic 'other' within its own corpus to the positioning of post-colonial Bosnia and South Slavic environment.

Ovaj rad predstavlja pokušaj da se nasljeđe Ive Andrića i njegova ‘pozicioniranja između“ promotri u odnosu na pisce koji danas pišu ‘između kultura i između jezika’. Otvarajući se interkulturalnosti i dvostrukom identitetu, pisci bosanskog podrijetla koje je iz vlastita prostora ‘izvlastio’ rat u Bosni i Hercegovini, postali su pisci interkulturalna naboja koje je teško bez rezerve svrstati u određeni (samo jedan) niz nacionalne književnosti i pripadnosti određenom povijesno zadanom generičkom književnom obrascu. U radu najprije navodimo pisce koji su tijekom zadnje četvrtine dvadesetog stoljeća također postali dijelom druge sredine, poput Kovača i Kiša. Zatim se detaljnije bavimo Andrićevom pozicijom te piscima kao što su Miljenko Jergović, Igor Štiks, Aleksandar Hemon, Dževad Karahasan i Andrej Nikolaidis. Iz komparativne perspektive, rad neprekidno povlači paralele s piscima ‘pozicioniranim između’ u anglo-keltskoj tradiciji postkolonijalne književnosti, od V. S. Naipaula, pa sve do suvremenih britanskih indijskih pisaca poput Salmana Rushdija. Povlačenjem tih paralela otvara se mogućnost za postkolonijalno pozicioniranje Andrića i kasnijih pisaca, ali i mogućnost da se definira hibridni identitetski obrazac, multiplikacija potencijala pričanja u konstrukciji teksta i ostvarivanje jezičnih igara u ‘osvajanju’ drugog jezika i njegova korištenja tijekom ukazivanja na ideologemski zasićene slojeve teksta. Otvarajući ovakvu pozicioniranost ovaj rad pokušava otvoriti mogućnost daljnjih istraživanja i razotkrivanja prirode i metodoloških pristupa transnacionalno pozicioniranim tekstovima i njihovoj recepciji., This article is an attept to apply the theory of Ivo Andrić’s positioning ‘in between’ the cultures and languages to the situation in contemporary literature in between the cultures in a space of South Slavic literatures. By opening the questioning of the constructed constructs in his texts and positioning, Andric also opened the possibility of language games where others are put in a position to participate. With this intercultural anticipation he also opened the possibility for next generation of writers who were excluded from local corpus by being forced to leave Bosnia and Herzegovina during the war in early 1990’s. These writers were put in transnational position where it is very difficult to subscribe them to one particular national corpus and to one particular tradition. By belonging to more than one corpus and more than one tradition writers such are Miljenko Jergović, Igor Štiks, Aleksandar Hemon, Dževad Karahasan and Andrej Nikolaidis are put in a position that is, in a sense, very similar to the position of British Indian writers. This is why in a conclusion of this text a number of quotes from Sulmon Rushdie is taken into consideration to describe better this phenomenon of ‘dual belonging’ and idea of imaginary homelands that are here and there and which are fictionalized by textual tactics as well as conquering of language(s).

El presente artículo analiza la visión lárica del sujeto poético en poemas de En el invierno de la provincia, de Rolando Cárdenas, texto en que el autor destaca la originalidad y autenticidad de la forma de vida provinciana, dotándola de un sentido mítico producto de la trascendencia que supone el desarrollo de sus ritos y actividades más cotidianas. Ello, en contraste con la postura del sujeto teillieriano, donde lo lárico se define por los sentimientos contradictorios que éste experimenta y que no puede conciliar toda vez que percibe por y en sí mismo la imposibilidad de pertenecer a un mundo original This article analyses the poetic subject's laric vision in poems from In the Province's Winter, by Rolando Cardenas. In this text the author stresses the originality and authenticity of life in the province, bestowing upon it a mythical character produced by the transcendent nature of the most common daily activities. Contrary to Cardenas's laric vision is that of the poetic subject in JorgeTeillier's poetry, in which the laric is defined by the contradictory emotions it cannot reconcile as it perceives in itself the impossibility of belonging to an original, uncontaminated world
