BACKGROUND: Given the complexity of arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (ARCR) and increasing prevalence, there is a need for comprehensive, large-scale studies that investigate potential correlations between surgeon-specific factors and postoperative outcomes after ARCR. This study examines how surgeon-specific factors including case volume, career length, fellowship training, practice setting, and regional practice impact two-year reoperation rates, conversion to total shoulder arthroplasty (anatomic or reverse), and 90-day post-ARCR hospitalization. METHODS: The PearlDiver Mariner database was used to collect surgeon-specific variables and query patients who underwent ARCR from 2015 to 2018. Patient outcomes were tracked for two years, including reoperations, hospitalizations, and International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision codes for revision rotator cuff repair (RCR) laterality. Hospitalizations were defined as any emergency department (ED) visit or hospital readmission within 90 days after primary ARCR. Surgeon-specific factors including surgeon case volume, career length, fellowship training, practice setting, and regional practice were analyzed in relation to postoperative outcomes using both univariate and multivariate logistic regression. RESULTS: 94,150 patients underwent ARCR by 1489 surgeons. On multivariate analysis, high-volume surgeons demonstrated a higher risk for two-year total reoperation (odds ratio [OR] = 1.06, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.01-1.12, P = .03) and revision RCR (OR = 1.06, 95% CI: 1.01-1.12, P = .02) compared to low-volume surgeons. Exercise can improve physical and mental health for young people at risk for and with HIV, but prevalence rates remain low. This study explored exercise preferences and barriers among young people at risk for and with HIV, and potential gender differences. A total of 129 participants (66.7% male, mean age = 23.8 [SD = 2.1; range: 19-28], 35.7% Black/African American) at-risk for or with HIV were recruited from a larger study and completed an online survey of exercise preferences and barriers. Overall, participants preferred an exercise program that takes place at a fitness center, occurs alone, has a coach/instructor present, is between 30 and 60 minutes, lasts longer than 8 weeks, and includes aerobic and resistance exercises. The fatiguing nature of exercise and cost were common barriers among all genders. Few gender differences emerged. These results should be used to design exercise programs for young adults at risk for and with HIV.

BACKGROUND: Rates of cartilage degeneration in asymptomatic elite basketball players are significantly higher compared with the general population due to excessive loads on the knee. Compositional quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (qMRI) techniques can identify local biochemical changes of macromolecules observed in cartilage degeneration. PURPOSE/HYPOTHESIS: The purpose of this study was to utilize multiparametric qMRI to (1) quantify how T1ρ and T2 relaxation times differ based on the presence of anatomic abnormalities and (2) correlate T1ρ and T2 with self-reported functional deficits. It was hypothesized that prolonged relaxation times will be associated with knees with MRI-graded abnormalities and knees belonging to basketball players with greater self-reported functional deficits. STUDY DESIGN: Cross-sectional study; Level of evidence, 3. METHODS: A total of 75 knees from National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I basketball players (40 female, 35 male) were included in this multicenter study. All players completed the Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) and had bilateral knee MRI scans taken. T1ρ and T2 were calculated on a voxel-by-voxel basis. The cartilage surfaces were segmented into 6 compartments: lateral femoral condyle, lateral tibia, medial femoral condyle, medial tibia (MT), patella (PAT), and trochlea (TRO). Lesions from the MRI scans were graded for imaging abnormalities, and statistical parametric mapping was performed to study cross-sectional differences based on MRI scan grading of anatomic knee abnormalities. Pearson partial correlations between relaxation times and KOOS subscore values were computed, obtaining r value statistical parametric mappings and P value clusters. RESULTS: Knees without patellar tendinosis displayed significantly higher T1ρ in the PAT compared with those with patellar tendinosis (average percentage difference, 10.4%; P = .02). Significant prolongation of T1ρ was observed in the MT, TRO, and PAT of knees without compared with those with quadriceps tendinosis (average percentage difference, 12.7%, 13.3%, and 13.4%, respectively; P ≤ .05). A weak correlation was found between the KOOS-Symptoms subscale values and T1ρ/T2. CONCLUSION: Certain tissues that bear the brunt of impact developed tendinosis but spared cartilage degeneration. Whereas participants reported minimal functional deficits, their high-impact activities resulted in structural damage that may lead to osteoarthritis after their collegiate careers.

Background: Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy has been shown to enhance tissue regeneration by expressing severalcytokines and growth factors (GFs). This study investigated the effect of intrauterine infusion of PRP as a noninvasiveautologous GF on pregnancy outcomes in women with repeated implantation failure.Materials and Methods: This randomized clinical trial was conducted to compare the pregnancy rates between twogroups of women who were candidates for the frozen-thawed embryo transfer with a history of two or more implantationfailures. The PRP group (n=33) was treated with hormone replacement therapy+0.5 cc to 1 cc PRP infusedinto the uterine cavity two days before the embryo transfer. The control group (n=33) was only treated with hormonereplacement therapy. The endometrial preparation process was done similarly in both groups. The chemical, clinical,and ongoing pregnancy, and implantation rates were compared between the two groups.Results: Our results showed that the chemical pregnancy rate was not statistically higher in the PRP group in comparisonwith the control group (36.4 vs. 24.2%). In addition, the clinical pregnancy, ongoing pregnancy, and implantationrates were higher in the PRP group than the control group; however, the difference between the two groups was notstatistically significant.Conclusion: Administration of intrauterine PRP before embryo transfer in women with repeated implantation failure(RIF) does not affect assisted reproductive technology (ART) outcomes (registration number: IRCT2016090728950N3).

Abstract: Background: type 1 diabetes is one of the most chronic diseases of childhood. The therapeutic recommendation for this condition is quite complex and needs changes in lifestyle. Recently the role of gut microbiota has received attention as a possible mechanism in the pathogenesis and control of the disease.Methods: One hundred thirty Children aged 6-18 years old with newly diagnosed diabetes type one participate in the trial. They are randomly assigned to the intervention or control group. The patients will receive a six month course of probiotics or placebo besides their conventional treatment with insulin and they will be followed for at least one year. Participants are followed at 3 month intervals for one year. At each visit anthropometrical data, glycemic control and total dose of insulin required to keep the optimal glycemic control is evaluated and registered.Discussion: There is evidence that alterations in gut microbiota is seen in children with diabetes. In this study we aim to evaluate the effect of probiotic administration on the duration of honeymoon period in pediatrics with type one diabetes and their glycemic control and insulin requirements.

Purpose: The aim of the present study is to reconcile the dual embodiment of ontology and folksonomy and establish a symbiotic relationship between the two technologies for the development of folksonomized ontology as a tool for organizing information in the fields of psychology and educational sciences in cyberspace.Method: This study is of an applied nature and utilizes a combined research method. To gain conceptual knowledge and develop a semi-automated ontology based on natural language (common labels), the three-step method proposed by Alves and Santanche (extraction, enrichment, and synthesis) (2013) is utilized, along with Noy and McGuinness's approach (2001). The statistical population refers to the labels used by students of psychology and educational sciences in the digital library of Allameh Tabatabai University. The purposive sampling method is used to select and aggregate specific labels. Additionally, to evaluate the credibility and validity of the extracted concepts and relationships, they are reviewed and confirmed by 15 experts in the fields of psychology and educational sciences. The software used to create the ontology is Protégé version 5.5.Findings: A total of 15,787 labels were extracted. After identifying the fundamental concepts and their interrelationships using the Eric database, a conceptual framework with an ontological approach was developed. After confirming and validating the conceptual structure, an ontology based on folksonomy is presented as the main research finding. It consists of 277 classes and subclasses, 110 relation types, 50 samples, and 9 synonyms taken from the Eric database, and is illustrated in several graphs. Based on the statistical test performed on the ontology derived from folksonomy with a significance level of 0.0005, the model has been proven to be relatively accurate, and all components have been confirmed by experts.Conclusion: Folksonomies are "user-generated ontologies" within the Semantic Web. Leveraging the structural distinctions between folksonomies and ontologies holds the potential to advance the Semantic Web without requiring a deep understanding of complex classification systems.

Purpose: This research aimed to investigate the relationship between media literacy and information literacy with students' acceptance of e-learning using structural equation modeling. Method: The current research is applied in nature, employing a descriptive survey basedon structural equation modeling. The statistical population of the study comprised all students of Tabriz Islamic Art University (2743), from which 371 were selected through stratified random sampling. The reliability of the questionnaires on media literacy, information literacy, and e-learning acceptance was assessed using Cronbach's alpha coefficient, yielding values of 0.83, 0.93, and 0.95, respectively. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson's correlation coefficient test and structural equation modeling. Findings: The findings of the research show that the students' e-learning acceptance status has an average of 3.13, slightly higher than the average. The average media literacy and information literacy of Tabriz Islamic Art University students are 3.37 and 3.23, respectively. There is a positive and significant relationship between media literacy and information literacy with students' acceptance of e-learning. The findings indicate that the conceptual model presented regarding the relationship between media literacy and information literacy fits well with students' acceptance of e-learning. By providing training courses to enhance media literacy and information literacy skills among students, their acceptance of electronic learning can be increased. Conclusion: Information literacy and media literacy play predictive roles in students' acceptance of e-learning. Strengthening students' media literacy and information literacy skills is expected to enhance their acceptance of e-learning.

Abstract Background This animal study sought to evaluate two novel nanomaterials for pulpotomy of primary teeth and assess the short-term pulpal response and hard tissue formation in dogs. The results were compared with mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA). Methods This in vivo animal study on dogs evaluated 48 primary premolar teeth of 4 mongrel female dogs the age of 6–8 weeks, randomly divided into four groups (n = 12). The teeth underwent complete pulpotomy under general anesthesia. The pulp tissue was capped with MCM-48, MCM-48/Hydroxyapatite (HA), MTA (positive control), and gutta-percha (negative control), and the teeth were restored with intermediate restorative material (IRM) paste and amalgam. After 4–6 weeks, the teeth were extracted and histologically analyzed to assess the pulpal response to the pulpotomy agent. Results The data were analyzed using the Kruskal‒Wallis, Fisher’s exact, Spearman’s, and Mann‒Whitney tests. The four groups were not significantly different regarding the severity of inflammation (P = 0.53), extent of inflammation (P = 0.72), necrosis (P = 0.361), severity of edema (P = 0.52), extent of edema (P = 0.06), or connective tissue formation (P = 0.064). Abstract Background Chronic kidney disease (CKD) affects 10% of the global population costing over a hundred billion dollars per annum and leading to increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Many patients with CKD require regular haemodialyses. Synthetic arteriovenous grafts (AVG) are increasingly used to provide rapid vascular connection for dialysis. Initially, they have excellent patency rates but are critically limited by neointimal hyperplasia at the venous anastomosis, which drives subsequent thrombosis, graft failure and death. Methods Here, we describe a system in which electrical impedance spectroscopy sensors are incorporated circumferentially into the wall of a synthetic arteriovenous graft. This is combined with an implantable radiotelemetry system for data transmission outside the patient. The system was tested using monolayers of endothelial and smooth muscle cells as well as swine blood and clots with explanted human carotid artery plaques. Sensor testing was then performed in vitro and the device was implanted in vivo in female swine. Results The device can wirelessly report the accumulation of biological material, both cells and blood. Differences are also detected when comparing controls with pathological atheroma. In swine differences between blockage formation in a graft were remotely obtained and wireless reported. Conclusions Combining electrical impedance spectroscopy and an implantable radiotelemetry system enables graft surveillance. This has the potential to be used for early detection of venous stenosis and blood clot formation in real-time in vivo. In principle, the concept could apply to other cardiovascular diseases and vascular implantable devices.

Hub networks play a crucial role in optimizing transportation costs in air and road systems. Their main objective is to strategically locate hubs and allocate non-hub nodes within the network. The modular hub location problem is a specific area of hub network design that focuses on accurately calculating transportation costs, considering factors like trip numbers and capacity constraints in network routes. This study proposes a mixed-integer programming model to address the modular hub location problem with multiple allocations. It considers dependent and independent costs associated with vehicles per trip between hub network routes, considering specific vehicle capacities. Two datasets are utilized for validation: the CAB dataset representing 25 nodes of US airports and the TR dataset representing the Turkish transportation system with 81 nodes. To tackle the NP-hard nature of hub location models and the computational complexity of the proposed model, two solutions are developed. Firstly, a novel LP relaxation-based method using GAMS software provides near-optimal solutions for medium-sized instances. Additionally, a Genetic Algorithm (GA) implemented in MATLAB handles larger instances. The GA's efficiency is enhanced by tuning its parameters using the Taguchi method. Results analysis shows that both proposed algorithms yield high-quality solutions within significantly reduced timeframes compared to the CPLEX solver in GAMS software. The LP relaxation-based method performs well for medium-sized instances, while the GA approach is efficient for larger instances after parameter tuning with the Taguchi method.

Abstract This cohort study evaluated the long-term success/survival of vital pulp therapies (VPTs) after carious pulp exposure in adult teeth. Additionally, factors influencing long-term success were identified. Teeth treated during 2011–2022 in a private clinic were studied with clinical/radiographic follow-ups. Data included patient demographics, tooth specifics, and treatment details. Outcomes were classified as success/failure based on clinical/radiographic findings, with tooth functionality determining the survival rate. Encompassing 1149 patients and 1257 VPT-treated teeth, the average monitoring period was 42.2 months. Overall VPTs’ survival and success rates were 99.1% and 91.6%, respectively. Success rates for 768 direct pulp cappings, 217 miniature pulpotomies, and 272 full pulpotomies were 91.9%, 92.6%, and 90.1%, respectively (P > 0.05). Abstract Salvia verticillata L. is a well-known herb rich in rosmarinic acid (RA) and with therapeutic values. To better understand the possible roles of phytohormones in the production of phenolic acids in S. verticillata, in this work, we investigated some physiological and biochemical responses of the species to methyl jasmonate (MJ) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) as two effective elicitors. The leaves were sprayed with aqueous solutions containing 100 mg L−1 MWCNTs and 100 µM MJ and then harvested during interval times of exposure up to 96 h. The level of abscisic acid, as the first effective phytohormone, was altered in the leaves in response to MJ and MWCNTs elicitation (2.26- and 3.06-fold more than the control, respectively), followed by significant increases (P ˂ 0.05) detected in jasmonic acid and salicylic acid contents up to 8 h after exposure. Obtained data revealed that simultaneously with changes in phytohormone profiles, significant (P ˂ 0.05) rises were observed in the content of H2O2 (8.85- and 9.74-folds of control), and the amount of lipid peroxidation (10.18- and 17.01-folds of control) during the initial times after exposure to MJ and MWCNTs, respectively. Later, the content of phenolic acids increased in the elicited leaves due to changes in the transcription levels of key enzymes involved in their biosynthesis pathways, so 2.71- and 11.52-fold enhances observed in the RA content of the leaves after exposure to MJ and MWCNTs, respectively. It is reasonable to conclude that putative linkages between changes in some phytohormone pools lead to the accumulation of phenolic acids in the leaves of S. verticillata under elicitation. Overall, the current findings help us improve our understanding of the signal transduction pathways of the applied stimuli that led to enhanced secondary metabolite production in medicinal plants.

Abstract Many cardiovascular problems stem from blockages that form within the vasculature and often treatment includes fitting a stent through percutaneous coronary intervention. This offers a minimally invasive therapy but re‐occlusion through restenosis or thrombosis formation often occurs post‐deployment. Research is ongoing into the creation of smart stents that can detect the occurrence of further problems. In this study, it is shown that selectively metalizing a non‐conductive stent can create a set of electrodes that are capable of detecting a build‐up of material around the stent. The associated increase in electrical impedance across the electrodes is measured, testing the stent with blood clot to mimic thrombosis. It is shown that the device is capable of sensing different amounts of occlusion. The stent can reproducibly sense the presence of clot showing a 16% +/−3% increase in impedance which is sufficient to reliably detect the clot when surrounded by explanted aorta (one sample t‐test, p = 0.009, n = 9). It is demonstrated that this approach can be extended beyond the 3D printed prototypes by showing that it can be applied to a commercially available stent and it is believed that it can be further utilized by other types of medical implants.

H syndrome is a very rare auto inflammatory syndrome which is characterized by a constellation of symptoms mostly beginning with the letter H. Hypertrichosis, Hyperpigmentation, Hyperlipidemia, Hyperglycemia, Hypogonadism, Hepatomegaly, Hearing loss, Heart anomalies and short Height.Here we report a 14 years old boy with the diagnosis of H syndrome who was being treated for diabetes since he was 2 years old.

Objectives: In an ideal pulpotomy, the radicular pulp remains vital, healthy, and fully encased within an odontoblastic layer. Mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) and bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) have been suggested to facilitate this outcome. We aimed to compare the clinical and radiographic failure and success rates of MTA and rhBMP2 as pulpotomy medicaments. Materials and Methods: Sixty-eight teeth from 3–6-year-old children were randomly assigned to two groups using a split-mouth design. Cervical pulpotomy was performed using MTA in one group and rhBMP2 in the other. Subsequently, the teeth were restored with stainless-steel crowns. Clinical and radiographic assessments were performed at 3, 6, 9, and 12-month follow-up intervals to evaluate success and failure rates. This systematic review assessed the relationship between exercise and ART adherence in adults living with HIV. A comprehensive search through June 2020 for relevant studies was conducted, and PRISMA guidelines were followed. To be included, studies had to meet the following criteria: (a) published in a peer-reviewed journal; and (b) examined the relationship between exercise and ART adherence. A total of 4310 studies were identified, and nine were included. The majority (five out of nine) of studies found a significant and positive relationship between exercise and ART adherence. Strengths, limitations, and future directions are discussed.

As one of the most necessary human needs, groundwater resources play a key role in the economic and political processes of societies. Climatic and land-use changes made serious challenges to the quantity and quality of groundwater resources in the Tehran-Karaj study area. The main objective of the present study is to develop a method based on individual intelligent models, including adaptive neural-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS), gene expression programming (GEP), and combined-wavelet (WANFIS, WGEP) methods for temporal and spatial estimation of total hardness (TH), total dissolved solids (TDS), and electrical conductivity (EC) variables in the groundwater resources of the Tehran-Karaj area for statistical period of 17 years (2004-2021). The results showed that combined-wavelet models have higher performance than individual models in estimating three selected variables. So that the performance improvement percentage of the WANFIS model compared to ANFIS and WGEP model compared to GEP, taking into account the evaluation index of root mean square error (RMSE) were obtained (23.713%, 18.018%), (12.581%, 33.116%), and (6.433%, 12.995%) for TH, TDS, and EC variables, respectively. The results indicated a very high spatial and temporal compatibility of the estimated values of the WGEP model with the observed values for all three qualitative variables in the Tehran-Karaj area. The results showed that the concentration of qualitative variables of groundwater resources from the north to the south of the study area has an upward trend for all three qualitative variables. In urban areas, pollution caused by sewage and population increase, as well as in agricultural areas, the use of chemical fertilizers and their continued infiltration into groundwater resources and over-extraction of groundwater resources aggravate their pollution. Therefore, in the study area, climatic changes and the type of land use are strongly related to the quality of groundwater resources.

Background and aim: Co-citation and word co-occurrence analysis can help to identify key articles in any subject area. Therefore, the purpose of the current paper is to identify the thematic orientation in the co-citation and co-occurrence network of prominent articles in water pollution field in the world. Materials and methods: The current research is applied in terms of purpose, and descriptive in terms of type, which was carried out using co-citation and word co-occurrence analysis. In order to better understand the research conducted in water pollution and draw a scientific map of this field, all the published articles (28095 docs) were retrieved in the Web of Science database from 2011 to 2022 in August 20, 2023. Citespace software was used to analyze and draw co-citation maps and VOSviewer was used to analyze and draw word co-occurrence maps in water pollution articles. Findings: Generally, there exists 245 co-citation link between 101 documents in the co-citation network of articles. The top articles in water pollution field in the above-mentioned time period formed 12 thematic clusters. The results of co-referencing documents in water pollution state the formation of the most important cluster (cluster 0) in 2014 in drinking water, removing arsenic, groundwater pollution. The largest number of clusters (5 clusters out of the total number of 12 clusters) was formed in the period of 2017-2019. The word co-occurrence results stated that cluster number 1 with 65 members and the topic of different methods of wastewater treatment is the most important one discussed in the articles. The terms "water pollution", "adsorption", "water quality" have the highest frequency of co-occurrence compared to other terms with 2177, 2136, 945 respectively. Conclusion: Different clusters were formed in this research, most of which focus on removing pollution in water in different ways using the latest methods. These results can be an effective step in saving the time and money of officials in forming necessary policies.

BackgroundA low technology emanator device for slowly releasing vapour of the volatile pyrethroid transfluthrin was recently developed in Tanzania that provides robust protection against night biting Anopheles and Culex vectors of malaria and filariasis for several months. Here these same emanator devices were assessed in Dar es Salaam city, as a means of protection against outdoor-biting Aedes (Stegomia) aegypti, the most important vector of human arboviruses worldwide, in parallel with similar studies in Haiti and Brazil.MethodsA series of entomological experiments were conducted under field and semi-field conditions, to evaluate whether transfluthrin emanators protect against wild Ae. aegypti, and also compare the transfluthrin responsiveness of Ae. aegypti originating from wild-caught eggs to established pyrethroid-susceptible Ae. aegypti and Anopheles gambiae colonies. Preliminary measurements of transfluthrin vapour concentration in air samples collected near treated emanators were conducted by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.ResultsTwo full field experiments with four different emanator designs and three different transfluthrin formulations consistently indicated negligible reduction of human landing rates by wild Ae. aegypti. Under semi-field conditions in large cages, 50 to 60% reductions of landing rates were observed, regardless of which transfluthrin dose, capture method, emanator placement position, or source of mosquitoes (mildly pyrethroid resistant wild caught Ae. aegypti or pyrethroid-susceptible colonies of Ae. aegypti and An. gambiae) was used. Air samples collected immediately downwind from an emanator treated with the highest transfluthrin dose (15g), contained 12 to 19 μg/m3 transfluthrin vapour.ConclusionsIt appears unlikely that the moderate levels of pyrethroid resistance observed in wild Ae. aegypti can explain the modest-to-undetectable levels of protection exhibited. While potential inhalation exposure could be of concern for the highest (15g) dose evaluated, 3g of transfluthrin appears sufficient to achieve the modest levels of protection that were demonstrated entomologically. While the generally low levels of protection against Aedes reported here from Tanzania, and from similar entomological studies in Haiti and Brazil, are discouraging, complementary social science studies in Haiti and Brazil suggest end-users perceive valuable levels of protection against mosquitoes. It therefore remains unclear whether transfluthrin emanators have potential for protecting against Aedes vectors of important human arboviruses.

BackgroundA simple treated fabric device for passively emanating the volatile pyrethroid transfluthrin was recently developed in Tanzania that protected against nocturnal Anopheles and Culex mosquitoes for several months. Here these transfluthrin emanators were assessed in Port-au-Prince, Haiti against outdoor-biting Aedes.MethodsTransfluthrin emanators were distributed to participating households in poor-to-middle class urban neighbourhoods and evaluated once every two months in terms of their effects on human landing rates of wild Aedes populations. A series of three such entomological assessment experiments were conducted, to examine the influence of changing weather conditions, various transfluthrin formulations and emanator placement on protective efficacy measurements. Laboratory experiments assessed resistance of local Aedes aegypti to transfluthrin and deltamethrin, and the irritancy and repellency of the transfluthrin-treated fabric used in the field.ResultsAcross all three entomological field assessments, little evidence of protection against wild Ae. aegypti was observed, regardless of weather conditions, transfluthrin formulation or emanator placement: A generalized linear mixed model fitted to the pooled data from all three assessment rounds (921 females caught over 5129 hours) estimated a relative landing rate [95% Confidence interval] of 0.87 [0.73, 1.04] for users of treated versus untreated emanators (P = 0.1241). Wild Ae. aegypti in this setting were clearly resistant to transfluthrin when compared to a fully susceptible colony.ConclusionsTransfluthrin emanators had little if any apparent effect upon Aedes landing rates by wild Ae. aegypti in urban Haiti, and similar results have been obtained by comparable studies in Tanzania, Brazil and Peru. In stark contrast, however, parallel sociological assessments of perspectives among these same end-users in urban Haitian communities indicate strong satisfaction in terms of perceived protection against mosquitoes. It remains unclear why the results obtained from these complementary entomological and sociological assessments in Haiti differ so much, as do those from a similar set of studies in Brazil. It is encouraging, however, that similar contrasts between the entomological and epidemiological results of a recent large-scale assessment of another transfluthrin emanator product in Peru, which indicate they provide useful protection against Aedes-borne arboviral infections, despite apparently providing only modest protection against Aedes mosquito bites.

The worldwide spread of COVID-19 has led to closures or reduced capacity of non-essential businesses and recreational areas and stay-at-home orders to promote social distancing. Although effective to reduce transmission, these policies may negatively impact exercise behaviors. Exercise is effective at mitigating the risk of developing or exacerbating several of underlining risk factors for a more severe COVID-19 disease course and may be particularly important for people with HIV (PWH). In this commentary, we discuss the intersection of COVID-19 and exercise with a specific focus on people living with HIV. We then provide a pragmatic, home-based exercise routine that can be performed with little to no equipment or supervision. It is important for PWH (and others) to start or maintain at least some level of exercise to reduce the risk of a severe COVID-19 disease course and to improve other health outcomes in this unfamiliar climate.

Objective: Since the formation of the open access movement, extensive efforts have been made by the scientific community to provide open access to research publications. Open access to scientific information is one of the solutions that can lead to better visibility and use of knowledge by removing barriers to access. Dissemination of accurate and immediate scientific information about this emerging disease is very important and can help to assess and achieve solutions to control it, strong evidence, better information and support for public health decisions. Access to the maximum possible information about this disease is very important not only for the scientific community but also for everyone around the world. Open access allows researchers to engage with the rapidly growing research of Covid-19 and use relevant information to identify this new virus and reach solutions to the global health crisis. The unprecedented crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic has revolutionized the system of schientific communication and the disseminiation of research findings and the scientific community has taken many measures in order to access information related to this disease. The aim of this study is to investigate the publication patterns of Covid-19 pandemic research.Methodology: This exploratory study was conducted as a descriptive-analytical report using a scientometric approach. The research population of the study was comprised of Covid-19 related publications which were indexed in the Web of Science database from the beginning of 2020 to April 2021. Data collection was carried out using Web of Science and Unpaywall databases. The data was analyzed usnin Microsoft Excel and SPSS (version 23).Findings: The findings showed that 92 percent of the examined articles in the area of COVID-19 pandemic have been published in one of the open access models. Over 40 percent of articles were published under the gold open access models, while 33 percent were bronze open access, 10 percent were green open access, and another 9 percent were hybrid open access. The results related to the fit of the publication model demonstrated the S-shape pattern of publications. Accordingly, we observed a slow publication pace in the early months of 2020 followed by a steady continuation of the publication speed during that year.Conclusion: Non-open access articles accounted for only 8 percent of all COVID-19 related publications examined in this research. There has been a successful international agreement among scientific publishers regarding open access publication of the research findings related to COVID-19 pandemic. This can be considered as a remarkable achievement during the global crisis of the pandemic.

Introduction: Preterm delivery is one of the leading causes of death in infants and children under 5 years of age. The causes of preterm delivery have not been properly identified, but some causes include infections such as bacterial vaginosis, which are very common among pregnant women. The present study was performed with aim to determine the role of bacteria associated with bacterial vaginosis in causing preterm delivery. Methods: This case-control study was conducted in 2014-2015 on 100 women with term delivery and 100 women with preterm delivery in Shaheed Sayyad Shirazi hospital in Gorgan.
