This paper analyzes the basic principles and the main goal of Beijing natural gas supply security system, predicts the supply and demand of natural gas of Beijing in coming years, starting from the facts of Beijing special status and natural gas rapid development. Beijing natural gas supply safety system includes three main aspects: diversification of gas supply, gas supply security early warning systems, gas supply security the government's social responsibility system.

China's energy consumption has surpassed the United States to become the world's largest energy consumer. As the capital city of China, Beijing has a large-scale population size, high building density, land scarcity, sensitive atmosphere environment and great political influence. Beijing is always in need of large amount of energy and its pursuit for high quality energy is also desperate. Thus, its of high priority to guarantee a sustainable development path for urban energy. Based on analysis of the international energy situation, energy characteristics of Beijing and the Beijing Energy Risk, this paper intends to draw a conclusion on how to rely on sustainable energy development theory to control related risks in Beijing.
