The use of experimental tests in wind tunnels is still the most reliable way of evaluating the dynamic structural response of buildings. However, such methodology may lead to delays; and, furthermore, cost growth in the design phase of a building. A viable alternative to the use of wind tunnels is the use of simplified methodologies to estimate the dynamic response. Within this context, stand out the normative methods that are generally based on the Davenport Gust Factor Method, the Database Assisted Methods, which consider the data obtained in tests performed in wind tunnels, considering standardized geometries for the calculation of the responses, and the Spectral Representation Method, used to generate the wind load considering its dynamic characteristics. Thus, in order to compare the mentioned methodologies, this master's thesis considers four models of buildings, namely: two simplified models, the first with dimensions of 40 mx 40 mx 200 m and second with dimensions of 30 mx 45 mx 180 m, both with characteristics provided in articles pertinent to the subject addressed in this work; in addition to two structural models of real buildings, the first building in reinforced concrete with dimensions of 20,24 mx 29,19 m and total height of the order of 70 m and the second building in steel-concrete composite structure with dimensions of 32 mx 45 m and height total of 172,80 m. The comparisons were made based on the maximum values of the longitudinal and transverse accelerations, respectively, calculated at the top of the buildings with the use of all methods studied. Regarding real buildings, an evaluation of human comfort was carried out. Among the standards and methods considered, the American design standard and the Spectral Representation Method presented values of the along-wind accelerations closer to those obtained in the experimental tests carried out in wind tunnels. Considering the values of the across-wind accelerations, none of the standards presented satisfactory results. However, in spite of the differences found, this research clearly shows the importance of considering the across-wind acceleration, which, in the majority of cases, presented a higher value throughout the analyzes, being, therefore, a determining factor for the human comfort assessment. Atualmente, o projeto e a construção de edifícios altos e esbeltos para atender ao crescimento populacional, bem como a redução dos espaços livres disponíveis em áreas urbanas, têm originado problemas estruturais relevantes causados pela ação dinâmica do vento e associados a vibrações excessivas e desconforto humano. A utilização de testes experimentais em túneis de vento ainda é a forma mais confiável de avaliar a resposta estrutural dinâmica de edifícios. Todavia, tal metodologia pode gerar atrasos e, ainda, crescimento dos custos na fase de projeto de um edifício. Uma alternativa viável ao emprego dos túneis de vento diz respeito à utilização de metodologias simplificadas para se estimar a resposta dinâmica. Dentro desse contexto, destacam-se os métodos normativos que geralmente são baseados no Método do Fator de Rajada de Davenport, os Métodos Assistidos por Base de Dados, que consideram os dados obtidos em ensaios realizados em túneis de vento, considerando-se geometrias padronizadas para o cálculo das respostas, e o Método da Representação Espectral, utilizado para gerar o carregamento de vento considerando suas características dinâmicas. Assim sendo, objetivando comparar as metodologias mencionadas, esta dissertação de mestrado considera quatro modelos de edificações, a saber: dois modelos simplificados, o primeiro com dimensões de 40 m x 40 m x 200 m e o segundo com dimensões de 30 m x 45 m x 180 m, ambos com características fornecidas em artigos pertinentes ao assunto abordado no trabalho; além de dois modelos estruturais de edifícios reais, sendo a primeira edificação em concreto armado com dimensões de 20,24 m x 29,19 m e altura total da ordem de 70 m e o segundo edifício em estrutura mista aço-concreto com dimensões de 32 m x 45 m e altura total de 172,80 m. As comparações foram realizadas com base nos valores máximos das acelerações longitudinal e transversal, respectivamente, calculadas no topo dos edifícios com a utilização de todos os métodos estudados. No que tange aos edifícios reais, foi realizada uma avaliação do conforto humano. Dentre as normas e métodos considerados, a norma de projeto americana e o Método da Representação Espectral apresentaram valores das acelerações longitudinais mais próximos daqueles obtidos nos testes experimentais realizados em túneis de vento. Considerando-se os valores das acelerações transversais, nenhuma norma de projeto estudada apresentou resultados satisfatórios. Contudo, apesar das diferenças encontradas, essa investigação mostra com clareza a importância da consideração da aceleração transversal que, na maioria dos casos, apresentou valor mais elevado ao longo das análises, sendo, portanto, um fator determinante para a verificação do conforto humano.

This architectural style has led the structural design of these buildings to structural solutions composed of more flexible systems and, consequently, these buildings have presented values of low natural frequencies, becoming more susceptible to excessive vibrations problems. Therefore, this research work aims to investigate the dynamic structural response and subsequent evaluation of the human comfort of buildings, when subjected to the non-deterministic action of wind loads, based on the consideration of the soil-structure interaction effect and also the contribution of the effect of the masonry of the models. In this context, the dynamic structural response of a reinforced concrete building, composed by 22 floors, with a height of 63.8 m was investigated. The results obtained from the numerical analyses, in terms of maximum displacement values and peak accelerations, can be compared to the limit values established by technical codes and international design recommendations in order to critically evaluate the levels of human comfort of the studied building, considering current design situations. Os significativos avanços tecnológicos das ciências dos materiais e dos sistemas e processos construtivos tem proporcionado um crescimento significativo de projetos arquitetônicos arrojados e com isto acarretando em sistemas estruturais de edifícios cada vez mais altos e esbeltos. Este estilo arquitetônico têm conduzido o projeto estrutural dessas edificações a soluções compostas por sistemas mais flexíveis e, desta forma, estes edifícios têm apresentado baixos valores de frequências naturais, tornando-se mais suscetíveis aos problemas de vibrações excessivas. Assim sendo, este trabalho de pesquisa objetiva a investigação da resposta estrutural dinâmica e posterior avaliação do conforto humano de edifícios, quando submetidos à ação não determinística das cargas de vento, com base na consideração do efeito proveniente da interação solo-estrutura e da contribuição das alvenarias dos modelos. Deste modo, investiga-se a resposta estrutural dinâmica de um edifício de concreto armado composto por 22 pavimentos e apresentando uma altura total de 63,8 m. Os resultados obtidos ao longo das análises numéricas realizadas, em termos dos valores dos deslocamentos máximos e das acelerações de pico, são comparados com os valores limites estabelecidos por normas técnicas e recomendações internacionais de projeto, de modo a avaliar de forma crítica os níveis de conforto humano do edifício em estudo, no que tange a situações da prática corrente de projeto.
