Dans cet article, nous proposons de centrer notre attention sur la manière dont un dispositif de recherche que nous avons mis en place dans le champ de l'éducation de la petite enfance a pu constituer une opportunité pour les professionnelles de rendre visibles les savoirs d'expérience dont elles disposent sur le rôle des interactions langagières dans leur travail auprès des enfants et auprès des stagiaires qu'elles encadrent occasionnellement. Nous nous focalisons en particulier sur les représentations en circulation dans leurs discours à propos de la place et du rôle de l'interaction verbale dans la construction d'une posture professionnelle et la manière dont les catégories utilisées à ce propos émergent au fil de la rencontre entre des chercheurs et des collectifs d'éducatrices.

Cet article porte sur l’activité des tuteurs qui accompagnent des étudiants stagiaires dans leur formation au métier d’éducateur de l’enfance dans le contexte suisse. Il s’intéresse en particulier au rôle de la communication dans les processus d’apprentissage en situation de travail. Six tutrices, ou « référentes professionnelles » ont été observées au moyen d’enregistrements audio-vidéo dans le quotidien de l’accompagnement des stagiaires. Ces enregistrements ont été soumis à une démarche de coanalyse conduite par ce collectif de référentes. L’article met en évidence les objets de préoccupation que rencontrent les référentes au moment d’accompagner des stagiaires dans l’effervescence des activités éducatives impliquant de jeunes enfants. Il relève des tensions sur plusieurs axes structurants de l’activité tutorale : a) les modalités d’engagement des stagiaires accompagnées; b) le degré d’implication des référentes dans la conduite des activités éducatives; c) les modalités par lesquelles des éléments de savoir peuvent être portés à l’attention des stagiaires. This paper discusses the role of guidance provided by workplace supervisors in the context of vocational training of early childhood educators in Switzerland. It focuses on the role of communication in learning processes in the conditions of professional practice. Six tutors, or “professional referents”, have been observed and video recorded in the daily guidance of trainees. These recording have been submitted to a process of coanalysis conducted by the group of referents. The paper highlights the objects of concern that face the referents when they accompany the trainees in the effervescence of educational activities involving young children. It notes tensions on several structuring axes of the tutoring activity: 1) the level of engagement of the trainees; 2) the degree of involvement of the referents in the conduct of educational activities; 3) the ways in which elements of knowledge can be brought to the attention of the trainees.

La thèse repose sur la problématique du tutorat dans les métiers de l'éducation et s'articule autour de trois champs disciplinaires : la formation professionnelle, les sciences du travail et du langage. La recherche a été conduite dans le champ empirique de la formation professionnelle en éducation de la petite enfance (alternance). La problématique repose sur un paradoxe. Dans l'accompagnement tutoral, les processus d'aide sont considérés comme des éléments fondateurs des progrès pour la personne en formation et pourtant l'accès aux traces du travail réel des tuteurs reste opaque,l'activité éducative se superposant à l'activité de formation. Les questions de recherche s'organisent en 3 axes : le tutorat observé sur la place de travail, à l'école et en formation continue. Les résultats montrent qu'une analyse située, interactionnelle et multimodale met en visibilité des configurations interactionnelles de participation telles que l'observation, la coanimation et la monstration.

The recent literature in the field of workplace learning has stressed the importance of guidance in the process of learning in and from practice. Workers do not only learn just by conducting specific tasks individually; they learn when adequate resources are afforded to them and when more experienced workers are able to assist them in their practice. Hence, there is considerable importance to investigate the specific qualities of guidance at work and to understand how novice workers engage with these resources. In this particular context, the chapter advances two main ideas. The first idea is to consider that a close examination of the conditions under which mentors and students engage in face-to-face interactions provides a relevant theoretical basis for exploring the relational interdependences between these actors. These interdependences may be described and analysed as “interactional participatory configurations”. The second idea the chapter puts forward is that recent research developed in the Francophone world and borrowing concepts from a wide range of disciplinary traditions such as anthropology, sociology, sociolinguistics and discourse analysis provide useful insights for investigating these issues. These resources, it is proposed, bring complementary contributions to the understanding of the importance of participation and guidance in vocational and professional learning as it occurs in the workplace. Transcripts of video data collected in the field of vocational training of early childhood educators are used as empirical illustrations of the proposed analytical frame.

In line with this body of research, the paper addresses the topic of guidance at work in a specific context: that of early childhood educators and their vocational training. By adopting an interactional and multimodal perspective on guidance, the paper investigates how training opportunities are provided by vocational trainers in the context of internships. What constitutes the "practice of mentoring" in early childhood institutions? Through what sorts of "action" is guidance provided and accomplished in naturally occurring educational practices? How do mentors provide students with participation opportunities in naturally occurring educational practices? How do students engage with these participation opportunities and make use of the resources afforded to them? In this paper, three distinct interactional participatory configurations are identified, defined and empirically illustrated: i) observation, ii) joint-action, and iii) display. These configurations stress both the complexity and the dynamic nature of training practices as they occur under working conditions., Cette contribution se propose de mieux comprendre comment s'y prennent des éducatrices de l'enfance endossant une fonction tutorale en situation de travail pour encadrer et accompagner des étudiantes stagiaires au début de leur formation professionnelle. à partir d'une analyse interactionnelle et multimodale de l'activité qui se déploie en situation de travail avec des groupes d'enfants, nous proposons d'étudier comment se construisent et se négocient entre les tutrices et les stagiaires des configurations de participation dans ces situations de formation sur la place de travail. Comment, dans le quotidien du travail dans les institutions de la petite enfance, les tutrices aménagent-elles pour les stagiaires des opportunités de participation à des activités éducatives ? Et réciproquement, comment les stagiaires investissent-elles ces opportunités de participation pour expérimenter, sous différentes facettes, les compétences professionnelles visées dans leur parcours de formation ? L'analyse d'enregistrements audio-vidéo réalisés en situation naturelle de travail permet de mettre en évidence trois configurations de participation principales : a) l'observation, b) la co-animation, c) la monstration. Ces configurations permettent de cerner non seulement des formats interactionnels différents, mais encore les transformations dynamiques qui caractérisent la relation tutorale dans les conditions réelles de son accomplissement.

Out of 744 newly diagnosed ALL children under the age of 18 years treated according to the EORTC-CLCG protocols 58831 and 58832, 28 (4%) were infants less than 1 year of age. An elevated risk factor, which takes into account the sizes of the liver and spleen and the number of circulating blasts, was present in 25 cases. Most patients had non-common ALL. Among 15 patients studied by cytogenetics, nine present chromosomal abnormalities, six of them having a t(4;11) translocation. Complete remission was achieved in 86% of cases. One patient died in complete remission of therapy-related infection. The overall EFS is 43%. It is not statistically different in very young infants as compared to infants older than 6 months. Except for patients with AUL or with t(4;11) translocation, a continuous complete remission rate above 50% can be achieved with a median follow-up of 4 years. The results obtained in infant ALL with EORTC-CLCG protocols are currently better than those obtained with some other protocols, but remains inferior when compared to the ones obtained in older children. Thus, further improvements are needed and should be evaluated in large cooperative trials.

Mapping of the DNA from 14 Mediterranean subjects indicates a genetic variation in an Hinf I recognition site located 1 kilobase 5' to the beta-globin gene. This Hinf I site was found associated with eight beta-thalassemic genes and 11 normal beta genes, and hence is not specifically linked to beta-thalassemia.
