Abstract

Background: Pre-eclampsia remains an important maternal health problem in India. WHO makes a strong recommendation for supplementation of pregnant women with 1.5 grams to 2.0 grams of elemental calcium per day in areas with low dietary calcium intake and for women at high risk of developing hypertensive disorders during pregnancy. Objectives: 1) To evaluate the efficacy of calcium carbonate in reducing the incidence of pre-eclampsia and 2) to study the maternal and fetal outcomes, in antenatal women with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. Methods: This was a prospective, observational study done in the department of obstetrics and gynaecology, Government Head Quarters Hospital, Dindigul, Tamil Nadu. 600 pregnant women in early second trimester, from 14 weeks to 20 weeks, attending during October 2018 to February 2020, were recruited. Abstract

Concrete is the one of the most adaptable building material because it can be made to withstand the toughest environment. In the field of construction, the engineer challenges to develop new innovative admixtures to enhance the characteristics and performance of the concrete. Nowadays, supplemental cementitious materials (SCMs) are a part of the cementitious component in the majority of concrete mixtures. The SCMs are the waste materials or by-products from the different industries. These by-products possess the cementitious properties and it has the ability to replaced for cement material. By using these waste products as one of the building material it reduce the using of ordinary Portland cement and it will help to reduce the global warming effects along with disposal issues of waste materials. Most of the SCMs used as building materials are fly-ash, GGBS, rice-husk ash. silica fumes, baggage ash etc., The SCMs chosen are fly-ash, slag cement and silica fumes to carry out this investigation. The proportion of silica fumes utilized in the mix in the percentage of 8%, 10%, 15% and 20%. The mechanical strength property test were carried out for the concrete mix made with blended Slag cement and Fly ash cement (1:1) and silica fumes. The compressive strength test for different mixes were taken at the curing age of 7days,28days and 56 days. This research investigated the characteristics of concrete with slag, fly-ash and silica fumes which are compared with 0% replacement of silica fumes in the concrete. Incorporation of silica fumes in the concrete enhances the durability performance and strength features. The reduction of using cement content decrease the greenhouse gases contaminant in the environment and it become a greener eco-friendly building material. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

33. Time series forecasting using transformer neural network

Abstract

Time series forecasting is a vital component of data science, giving essential insights that help decision-makers to predict future trends across a number of sectors. This paper focuses on projecting complicated stock market price dynamics, weather data variations, and hourly traffic occupancy rates. The Informer-Based Time Series Forecasting (IBTSF) model, which employs a transformer-based architecture to capture long-term relationships and give probabilistic predictions, is proposed.This model is assessed against Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), Temporal Convolutional Network (TCN) and Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) model to benchmark its performance. Simulation findings demonstrate that the IBTSF model considerably outperforms other models across all datasets. For traffic data, the IBTSF model achieves a Mean Squared Error (MSE) of 10.1 and a Mean Absolute Scaled Error (MASE) of 1.69, compared to other model's larger mistakes. In stock data forecasting, the IBTSF model reports an MSE of 8.04 and a MASE of 1.53, again outperforming other models. Similarly, using meteorological data, the IBTSF model obtains an MSE of 86.12 and a MASE of 0.7, whereas other models fall short. These results underline the IBTSF model's resilience and accuracy in capturing subtle patterns and relationships within time series data, giving precise insights that benefit decision-making processes.
