The Millennial generation constitutes the majority of the present day workforce. As per the birth year and age group they presently belong to, many Millennial are already in managerial roles and many shall occupy key leadership roles in their respective organizations. Leadership being an emotion laden process requires the millennials to be adaptable so that they can motivate their team members or followers, understand their requirements and reduce their stress levels. Emotional Intelligence plays a crucial role in addressing these workplace issues and correlates positively with leadership. The study is focused on Indian Information Technology (IT) and ITES organizations as it is one of the biggest employers and contributes majorly towards the country’s economy. The present study tries to compare the level of emotional intelligence of millennials across gender, management levels, qualifications and years of experiences. Practical implications related to gender diversity and inclusion of women in leadership roles has also been discussed.

Employee turnover intentions have emerged as a significant research topic in social sciences as well as a challenge for corporates in Indian settings in past decade. This article presents a systematic literature review of employee turnover intention in India, providing an in-depth analysis of 198 empirical research articles on employee turnover intentions in Indian cultural settings published between 2010 to October 2022 in 126 academic journals listed in Scopus and Web of Sciences and proposes a heuristic model of turnover intention. The study reveals: 53 distinctive correlates of turnover intention which have been grouped into nine broad categories; research being conducted on a few antecedents of turnover intention in isolated pieces without taking a comprehensive approach; lack of attention to testing recent turnover models in Indian settings; too much preference on turnover intention as a proxy for actual turnover. The proposed model was tested on 481 respondents belonging to various industries across service sector in India employing Smart PLS software for validating path analysis provided encouraging results. Taking a note of trends and rifts, this article presents an inclusive approach along with suggestions and recommendations for future employee turnover intention research in India.

Interactive tools and immersive technologies make teaching more engaging and complex concepts easier to comprehend are designed to benefit training and education. Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations numerically solve Newton’s equations of motion for a given set of particles (atoms or molecules). Improvements in computational power and advances in virtual reality (VR) technologies and immersive platforms may in principle allow the visualization of the dynamics of molecular systems allowing the observer to experience first-hand elusive physical concepts such as vapour-liquid transitions, nucleation, solidification, diffusion, etc. Typical MD implementations involve a relatively large number of particles N = O(\(10^4\)) and the force models imply a pairwise calculation which scales, in case of a Lennard-Jones system, to the order of O(\(N^2\)) leading to a very large number of integration steps. Hence, modelling such a computational system over CPU along with a GPU intensive virtual reality rendering often limits the system size and also leads to a lower graphical refresh rate. In the model presented in this paper, we have leveraged GPU for both data-parallel MD computation and VR rendering thereby building a robust, fast, accurate and immersive simulation medium. We have generated state-points with respect to the data of real substances such as CO\(_2\). In this system the phases of matter viz. solid liquid and gas, and their emergent phase transition can be interactively experienced using an intuitive control panel.

Currently, computer assisted learning and multimedia form a key part of teaching. Interactivity and feedback are valuable in promoting active as opposed to passive learning. The study is conducted as an assessment of the impact of immersive VR on learning gain compared with a non-immersive video capture of VR, with a primary research question focusing on exploring learning gain and a secondary question exploring user experience, whereby understanding this is paramount to recognizing how to achieve a complete and effective learning experience. The study found immersive VR to significantly increase learning gain whilst two key measures of reported experience; enjoyment and concentration, also appeared significantly higher for the immersive VR learners. The study suggests extensive avenues for further research in this growing field, recognizing the need to appeal to a variety of students’ learning preferences. For educators, the relevance of self-directed and student-centered learning to enable active learning in the immersive tool is highlighted. Findings of such VR-based studies can be applied across several disciplines, including medical education; providing opportunity for users to learn without real-world consequences of error such as in surgical intervention.

This paper is intended to bring the status of milk production in Jharkhand in respect of India and the importance of ICT in Indian dairy. In general thought process, it is believed that number of animals is the major function of milk production; however, reality is something else. This paper tried to reveal the relationship of production factor of milk. There are various fundamental factors which are crucial for milk production in India as well as in Jharkhand. However, this paper only talks about animal population and productivity of animal as factors of milk production. Jharkhand milk production is very less compared to many states of India. This paper also tries to identify the other reasons behind low production of milk in Jharkhand, and finally, certain measures have been suggested to improve milk production in Jharkhand and lack of ICT use in Indian dairy.

In the present era when several countries are facing dual challenges of energy insecurity and environmental pollution, growing plants having bioenergy potential for reclamation of contaminated sites seems to offer a rather holistic approach to tackle both the problems simultaneously. Combining both the technologies (bioenergy production and phytoremediation of contaminated sites) apparently improves the overall environmental sustainability and economic feasibility of the individual techniques. Here, we discuss the ecological sustainability and economic feasibility of an integrated approach toward bioenergy production and decontamination of polluted sites using Jatropha curcas, Millettia pinnata, and Ricinus communis. This review paper attempts to provide a comparative snapshot approach toward the phytoremediation dimension of the three bioenergy plants taken for study in Indian scenario.

In this paper we have presented a pilot study done on seven subjects for analyzing the variation of human task performance on precision manual tasks by changing the visual distance. A trivial screw fastening task was performed at sitting and standing posture. It was observed that as long as components remained properly visible and within hand reach, the subjects were able to perform faster at a longer visual distance. We performed two additional laboratory experiments that consisted of tasks comprising of block duplication and visual peg-hole search and observed the same results. For recording the visual activity, a head-mounted binocular eye-tracker was used that captures first person view of scene along with gaze vector and fixation time. The data generated was analyzed for all three tasks and results are shown that justify our observations.

Digital Human Models (DHM) are used in digital mockups to identify human factor problems in design and assembly. Present applications are mostly limited to the posture, biomechanics, reach and simple visibility analysis and they are mostly developed for independent simulations that are mostly hand crafted by designers. Our aim is to develop natural simulations using vision as a feedback agent for performing any postural simulations similar to humans. In this paper, the work presented is limited to demonstrating active vision based feedback for a typical hand reach task without using inverse kinematics. The proposed concept takes into account of previously developed vision and hand modules and describes an integration methodology such that both modules can work in tandem providing feedback and feed forward mechanisms. The scheme primarily utilizes vision module that acts similar to human eyes by providing spatial information about hand and object in workspace. Similar to retinal projection, the workspace object and the model of DHM hand is geometrically projected over the grid and the relative positions are computed in terms of grid-cells. The computed relative positions are used to compute a vector direction that is provided as a feedback to hand for guiding it towards object. The hand module independently is capable of natural grasping and visual feedback is used for motion guidance. The implementation shown in this paper is limited to monocular vision and two-dimensional hand movement as a proof of concept. This scheme is used to demonstrate a scenario where DHM is successfully able guide the hand and point it to a given object. The presented model finally shows vision as a guiding agent for hand reach simulations. It can be used for planning and placement of workspace objects to enhance human task performance.
