Abstract

The next double magic nucleus after the double magic nucleus lead (208Pb) proton number Z=82 and neutron number N=126 is predicted to be flerovium 298Fl, Z=114 and N=184, and "Island of Stability" around this nucleus is predicted in the nuclear chart. In the synthesis of new elements, it was assumed that the projectile and target nuclei used in the experiments would be stable nuclei. In particular, it was experimentally impossible to use unstable nuclei as target nuclei. Therefore, it was considered difficult to synthesize nuclei on Island of Stability because of the insufficient number of neutrons when it came to fusion between stable nuclei. To approaching Island of Stability, it is necessary to use unstable nuclei with an excess of neutrons. However, until now there has been no method to achieve this. Recently, a new method of colliding unstable nuclei has been planned. It has also been reported that neutron-rich nuclei in the superheavy mass region have lower neutron binding energy than stable nuclei and lower temperature due to neutron emission more quickly, resulting in a high survival probability even at medium and high excitation energies. The goal of this study is to create and analyze neutron emission and mass distribution of fission fragments in the superheavy mass region using the statistical and the dynamical model. Abstract

We show, using two different approaches, that there exists a family of Riemannian metrics on the tangent bundle of a two-sphere, which induces metrics of constant curvature on its unit tangent bundle. In other words, given such a metric on the tangent bundle of a two-sphere, the Hopf map is identified with a Riemannian submersion from the universal covering space of the unit tangent bundle onto the two-sphere. Some in vitro reports have shown that statins suppress EMT by inactivating mutant p53 functions. Several clinical trials of conventional treatments with statins have been performed, but the effect of these drugs on prognosis is still uncertain. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of statins on EMT and the prognosis of patients with lung adenocarcinoma.Materials and methods: Morphological changes were evaluated and EMT markers (E-cadherin, vimentin) were analyzed by Western blotting in p53-overexpressing H1650 and mutant p53-harboring H1975 lung adenocarcinoma cells, with and without simvastatin administration. The invasive ability of these cells was analyzed in a Matrigel chemoinvasion assay. A total of 250 lung adenocarcinoma specimens were also collected from patients who underwent surgery in our institute. EMT markers in these tumor specimens were evaluated by immunostaining and p53 mutation status was determined by direct sequencing. Associations among EMT status, p53 mutation status, and statin use were evaluated, and prognosis was analyzed using a marginal structural model.Results: Mutant p53 induced EMT and increased the invasive ability of H1650 cells. Simvastatin restored the epithelial phenotype and decreased the invasive ability of both H1650 and H1975 cells. Statin administration was associated with inactivation of EMT only in patients with mutant p53, which was consistent with the in vitro results. Moreover, in patients with mutant p53, statin users had significantly better survival than non-statin users. In contrast, statins significantly worsened the prognosis of patients with wild type p53 (HR 2.10, 95% CI 1.14–3.85).Conclusion: Statins suppress EMT and change the prognosis of patients with lung adenocarcinoma in a p53 mutation-dependent manner.Keywords: p53, epithelial to mesenchymal transition, statin, survival analysis, non-small cell lung cancer

Abstract

37th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition; 914-918, When a bypass circuit of PV module is open and performance of solar cells drop by partial shadow, abnormality, and so on, the temperature of those cells increase and become hotspot. Observation of module surface temperature with IR camera is very popular technology for finding hotspot. However, a hotspot does not occur with only existence of open fault of bypass circuit, and temperature does not increase under low irradiance. In our proposed technology, the pseudo sine-wave voltage with DC bias is applied across the PV string. The temperature of the faulty part without bypass circuit changes in accordance with change of applying voltage. The temperature change is observed with an IR camera, and only the fault position is identified by the frequency analysis of temperature change. However, temperature change is influenced by mainly magnitudes of irradiance and applied voltage. To clear their effect, we conducted a fundamental test by using a small string with a dummy open fault of bypass circuit. As a result, when irradiance is more than 200W/m2 and applied voltage across a string is bigger than open circuit voltage Voc of a PV module, we can find an open fault position in a string.
