1. The effect of varied training methods with smaller class sizes on students' front crawl swimming skills

Abstract

However, the swimming learning process sometimes generalizes these abilities. The purpose of this study was to reveal the effect of varied training methods with smaller class sizes on students' front crawl swimming skills. The research used an experiment with a one-group pre-test-post-test design. The study population was 93 students, they take swimming lessons at the Sports Education Study Program, Garut University the 2022/2023 Academic Year. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The sample that reached the criteria was 22 students. The research instrument used a front crawl swimming skills test. Research procedure - giving treatment with varied methods with smaller class sizes. The data analysis technique uses Paired Sample t Test. Treatment with varied lesson delivery with smaller class sizes obtained sig values. (2-tailed) of 0.000. Based on the results of the research, findings revealed the value of sig. (2-tailed) obtained is 0.000. The score was lower than 0.05, so it was concluded that the method's effect varied with smaller class sizes on students' swimming skills on the front crawling swimming skills. The conclusion of this study is that using classroom settings and methods can affect swimming skills and front crawling style.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how much influence the integration of life skills has on youth hockey in the city of Bandung. Development of life skills in the context of Positive Youth Development, to find out which components of life skills have experienced the highest increase, and to find out how much life skills contribute to Positive Youth Development. The research method used is an experiment with a Quasi-Experimental Design model. The data collection techniques used in this study were the LSSS and CPYDS questionnaires. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The number of samples was 30 youths who took part in extracurricular hockey, which were divided into two groups: hockey training, which was given the integration of life skills consisting of 15 kids, and Hockey training, which was not given life skills integration composed of 15 children. Research Results There is a significant effect of the integration of life skills in the development of youth hockey on life skills in the framework of Positive Youth Development. There is a substantial influence of non-integrated life skills in the development of youth hockey on life skills in the context of Positive Youth Development. There is a difference in the effect of hockey training integrated life skills and non-integrated life skills on developing life skills in the framework of Positive Youth Development. Integrated life skills hockey training is better than non-integrated life skills. The components of life skills that experienced the highest increase in the integrated life skills group were interpersonal communication and social skills. Meanwhile, the life skills component that experienced the highest growth in the non-integrated life skills group was teamwork. There is a contribution to life skills and positive youth development (PYD).

Abstract

Every year, violence against women increases because women are always seen as weaker. So, this research aims to protect women from criminal threats through Women Self-Defense of Silat (WSDs). Then this research uses the descriptive analysis method, a literature study supported by distributing questionnaires to respondents. After the research data was collected, the results obtained in this study were the inability of women to protect themselves when they became victims of violence and crime or other things. WSDs emerged as special martial arts training facilities for women. So it is hoped that WSD's martial arts can become a tool to make it easier for women to practice through WSD's e-books.

Abstract

Objective: Theories about how couples help each other to cope with stress, such as the systemic transactional model of dyadic coping, suggest that the cultural context in which couples live influences how their coping behavior affects their relationship satisfaction. In contrast to the theoretical assumptions, a recent meta-analysis provides evidence that neither culture, nor gender, influences the association between dyadic coping and relationship satisfaction, at least based on their samples of couples living in North America and West Europe. Thus, it is an open questions whether the theoretical assumptions of cultural influences are false or whether cultural influences on couple behavior just occur in cultures outside of the Western world. Method: In order to examine the cultural influence, using a sample of married individuals (N = 7,973) from 35 nations, we used multilevel modeling to test whether the positive association between dyadic coping and relationship satisfaction varies across nations and whether gender might moderate the association. Results: Results reveal that the association between dyadic coping and relationship satisfaction varies between nations. In addition, results show that in some nations the association is higher for men and in other nations it is higher for women. Conclusions: Cultural and gender differences across the globe influence how couples’ coping behavior affects relationship outcomes. This crucial finding indicates that couple relationship education programs and interventions need to be culturally adapted, as skill trainings such as dyadic coping lead to differential effects on relationship satisfaction based on the culture in which couples live.

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian mengkaji perbedaan pengaruh antara pendekatan pembelajaran terpadu dan pembelajaran konvensional terhadap peningkatan kemampuan motorik dasar dan mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan awal terhadap kedua pendekatan tersebut. Taraf kemampuan awal dibagi menjadi kemampuan matematika dasar tinggi dan rendah. Penelitian dilakukan di SDN Panyileukan I Bandung Jawa Barat. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen dengan sampel sebanyak 40 orang. Tes kemampuan motorik dan matematika dasar dipakai sebagai alat untuk mengumpulkan data. Teknik analisis memakai Anava 2x2 dengan uji lanjut Tuckey dan uji t pada taraf siginifikansi 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan hasil belajar pendekatan pembelajaran terpadu lebih baik daripada hasil belajar konvensional. Untuk kemampuan awal matematika dasar rendah pendekatan pembelajaran terpadu lebih baik dari pendekatan konvensional, sedangkan untuk kemampuan awal matematika dasar tinggi tidak terdapat perbedaan antara kedua pendekatan pembelajaran tersebut. Hasil belajar matematika pendekatan pembelajaran terpadu lebih tinggi dibandingkan pendekatan konvensional. Kata Kunci: belajar gerak, matematika dasar, pembelajaran terpadu LEARNING MOVEMENT AND BASIC MATHEMATIC THROUGH INTEGRATED LEARNING APPROACH IN ELEMENTRY SCHOOL Abstract: The purpose of the researches to findout the differences of effect between conventional learning and integrated learning approuch on learning performance of physical education of elementary school students. In addition the research is also aimed at finding out the effect of entry behavior on both approuches. The entry behavior requarements are classified into high and low basic mathematic entry behavior. This research was conducted at SDN Panyileukan I Bandung, West Java addopting 2x2 factorial design experimental 40 student as sample. Basic motoric and basic mathematic test were used as measuring tools for data collection. Factorial variant 2x2 analysis, Tuckey analysis and tanaysis were employed at a significant level at 0,05. The research concludes that in general integrated learnig approuch for basic motor ability is higher than conventional learning approuch, In case of high entry behavior performance of integrated learing approuch is higher than conventional learning approach, In case of lowentry behavior however there is no differences in performance between integrated learing approuch than conventional learning approuch. Abstract

Prestasi olahraga dipengruhi oleh banyak faktor, antara lain berkaitan dengan karakteristik cabang olahraga, karakteristik atlet dan metode latihan. Tujuan penelitian mengkaji dampak latihan intensif training dan kebugaran jasmani terhadap peningkatan vo2maks pada atlet sepakbola wanita. Metode adalah eksperimen, dengan rancangan factorial 2 x 2. Desain faktorial. Sampel penelitian atlet sepakbola wanita kabupaten Subang berjumlah 20 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kebugaran jasmani dan Vo2maks. Hasil penelitian; Rata-rata hasil tes akhir siswa tertinggi adalah siswa yang diberikan metode interval ektensif dan memiliki tingkat kebugaran tinggi dengan nilai tes akhir rata-rata sebesar 41.68 , kemudian rata-rata hasil tes akhir tertinggi berikutnya adalah siswa yang diberikan metode interval intensif dengan tingkat kebugaran tinggi yaitu sebesar 37.80. Selanjutnya, rata-rata hasil tes akhir siswa dengan metode interval ekstensif dan tingkat kebugaran rendah adalah sebesar 37.00, sedangkan rata-rata hasil tes akhir siswa dengan metode interval intensif dan tingkat kebugaran rendah adalah sebesar 36.68. Rekomendasi: Vo2 maks atlet harus diberikan pelatihan dengan tepat, dengan mempertimbangan kemampuan kebugaran jasmani.

Abstract

Across the world, millions of couples get married each year. One of the strongest predictors of whether partners will remain in their relationship is their reported satisfaction. Marital satisfaction is commonly found to be a key predictor of both individual and relational well-being. Despite its importance in predicting relationship longevity, there are relatively few empirical research studies examining predictors of marital satisfaction outside of a Western context. To address this gap in the literature and complete the existing knowledge about global predictors of marital satisfaction, we used an open-access database of self-reported assessments of self-reported marital satisfaction with data from 7178 participants representing 33 di erent countries. The results showed that sex, age, religiosity, economic status, education, and cultural values were related, to various extents, to marital satisfaction across cultures. However, marriage duration, number of children, and gross domestic product (GDP) were not found to be predictors of marital satisfaction for countries represented in this sample. While 96% of the variance of marital satisfaction was attributed to individual factors, only 4% was associated with countries. Together, the results show that individual di erences have a larger influence on marital satisfaction compared to the country of origin. Abstract

Reaksi bagi penjaga gawang futsal sangat dibutuhkan, untuk mengantisipasi agar bola tidak masuk kegawang. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kecepatan reaksi penjaga gawang futsal dengan metode latihan 8-point star drill. Metode latihan 8-point star drill merupakan suatu bentuk latihan untuk meningkatkan kecepatan langkah pertama secara multi arah dan waktu bereaksi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah keseluruhan penjaga gawang Unit Kegitan Mahasiswa futsal sebanyak 6 orang. Dengan mengunakan desain penelitian pretest postets group dengan seluruh sampel diberikan eksperimen. Dari hasil pengolahan data penelitian, maka diperoleh bahwa hasil output uji paired samples test latihan 8-point star drill terhadap kecepatan reaksi penjaga gawang futsal terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan, maka dapat diambil kesimpulan metode latihan 8-point star drill memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan kecepatan reaksi penjaga gawang futsal.

Abstract

Orang yang menderita HIV/AIDS seringkali mendapat stigma negatif dan perubahan nilai sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penurunan stigma dan perubahan nilai sosial ODHA (orang dengan HIV/AIDS) melalui aktivitas olahraga futsal Rumah Cemara Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode causal comparative (ex-post facto). Desain dalam penelitian ini adalah criterion group design. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik convience sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 20 orang dengan dibagi dalam dua karakteristik 10 ODHA yang beraktif olahraga dan 10 ODHA yang tidak aktif olahraga. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket tertutup dan wawancara dengan menggunakan Skala Likert. Berdasarkan uji alat ukur validitas dan reliabilitas peneliti menggunakan angket yang di adopsi dan di diskusikan dengan expert judgment. Analisis data diolah menggunakan SPSS software versi 23. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan ada penurunan stigma dan perubahan nilai sosial dilihat dari uji independent sampel T dengan T hitung T dengan menarik kesimpulan Nilai t- Hitung tabel Stigma sebesar 3.439 2.10092 dan Nilai Sosial sebesar 3.730 2.10092. Artinya, aktivitas olahraga berpengaruh terhadap penuruna stigma dan perubahan Nilai Sosial ODHA.

Abstract

Physical fitness or fitness center and gymnastics studio as a business event, to improve the quality of human life through community sports. Maintain, maintain, and improve health, by using the facilities and infrastructure offered at the fitness center such as free weight equipment, and weight training. The aim is to see the results of weight training (free weight) through the analysis of the aerobic glycolysis system (CHO) on waist circumference. The treatment was given weight training with a duration of one minute (1 minute), using isotonic contractions, performed with 3 repetitions of sets, each set resting 30 seconds. Does it have a significant effect on the waist circumference of the perpetrator? The research method uses a one-Group Pretest-Posttest design. Isotonic exercise affects waist circumference.

Abstract

Finswimming is a water sport that is done using assistive devices, such as bins, monofins, and snorkels. The fastest sport that is carried out in the pool is getting more and more enthusiasts and is starting to attract a lot of attention in its activities. The growing development of this sport makes manufacturers of monofins tools increasingly develop the types of stiffness that are presented, including stiffness monofins hard and stiffness monofins extra hard. The purpose of this study was to analyze the kick frequency and velocity in the number 100 Meter surface in terms of the characteristics of the stiffness monofins hard and the stiffness monofins extra hard. This research method is descriptive quantitative with a cross-sectional research design. The population of this research is finswimming athletes in Bandung, purposive sampling technique is used to determine the sample with several criteria. The sample consisted of 16 athletes with the following criteria: (1) Bandung City Finswimming Athletes had practiced monofins for at least three years. (2) had monofins stiffness hard and extra hard. (3) is in the top 20 of the inter-regional championship monofins. The conclusion of this study, the stiffness monofins hard and stiffness monofins extra hard contributed less to the kick frequency, while on the velocity both had an effect and the stiffness monofins hard gave a greater influence with a percentage of 98.3%.

Abstract

WOS: 000442930300311, PubMed ID: 29955865, Olfaction plays an important role in human social communication, including multiple domains in which people often rely on their sense of smell in the social context. The importance of the sense of smell and its role can however vary inter-individually and culturally. Despite the growing body of literature on differences in olfactory performance or hedonic preferences across the globe, the aspects of a given culture as well as culturally universal individual differences affecting odor awareness in human social life remain unknown. Here, we conducted a large-scale analysis of data collected from 10 794 participants from 52 study sites from 44 countries all over the world. The aim of our research was to explore the potential individual and country-level correlates of odor awareness in the social context. The results show that the individual characteristics were more strongly related than country-level factors to self-reported odor awareness in different social contexts. A model including individual-level predictors (gender, age, material situation, education, and preferred social distance) provided a relatively good fit to the data, but adding country-level predictors (Human Development Index, population density, and average temperature) did not improve model parameters. Although there were some cross-cultural differences in social odor awareness, the main differentiating role was played by the individual differences. Abstract

WOS: 000399920900008, Human spatial behavior has been the focus of hundreds of previous research studies. However, the conclusions and generalizability of previous studies on interpersonal distance preferences were limited by some important methodological and sampling issues. The objective of the present study was to compare preferred interpersonal distances across the world and to overcome the problems observed in previous studies. We present an extensive analysis of interpersonal distances over a large data set (N = 8,943 participants from 42 countries). We attempted to relate the preferred social, personal, and intimate distances observed in each country to a set of individual characteristics of the participants, and some attributes of their cultures. Our study indicates that individual characteristics (age and gender) influence interpersonal space preferences and that some variation in results can be explained by temperature in a given region. Abstract

Peran seorang wasit pada cabang olahraga tidak terukur dalam hal ini adalah Senam memiliki posisi yang amat sentral. Kualifikasi wasit senam turut mempengaruhi keberhasilan atlet dalam meraih prestasi. Sehingga penyebaran SDM wasit yang berkualitas sangatlah diharapkan tersebar secara merata. Untuk mewujudkan pemerataan SDM perlu dilakukan pelatihan terhadap para wasit yang merupakan perwakilan dari tiap kota atau kabupaten. Pada masa pandemik Covid-19 ini tidaklah memungkinkan untuk melakukan pelatihan secara tatap muka langsung, oleh sebab itu alternative yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan virtual meeting. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efek dari pelatihan secara virtual terhadap peningkatan kompetensi wasit senam. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pre eksperimental design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah wasit senam tingkat provinsi dengan sample sebanyak 30 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah butir soal mengenai perwasitan berjumlah 40 soal. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kompetensi SDM wasit yang signifikan melalui pelatihan wasit secara virtual meeting.

WOS: 000380938000001, PubMed ID: 27551269, Objective: Theories about how couples help each other to cope with stress, such as the systemic transactional model of dyadic coping, suggest that the cultural context in which couples live influences how their coping behavior affects their relationship satisfaction. In contrast to the theoretical assumptions, a recent meta-analysis provides evidence that neither culture, nor gender, influences the association between dyadic coping and relationship satisfaction, at least based on their samples of couples living in North America and West Europe. Thus, it is an open questions whether the theoretical assumptions of cultural influences are false or whether cultural influences on couple behavior just occur in cultures outside of the Western world. Method: In order to examine the cultural influence, using a sample of married individuals N = 7973) from 35 nations, we used multilevel modeling to test whether the positive association between dyadic coping and relationship satisfaction varies across nations and whether gender might moderate the association. Results: Results reveal that the association between dyadic coping and relationship satisfaction varies between nations. In addition, results show that in some nations the association is higher for men and in other nations it is higher for women. Conclusions: Cultural and gender differences across the globe influence how couples' coping behavior affects relationship outcomes. Abstract

The main purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of the coping strategy and level of representations of student-athletes at university level. More specifically, it also investigates the relationship of high school level of sport representations and university level of sport representation. A sample of 307 (female-213; male-94) university students-athletes in one of the public university in Malaysia were randomly selected for this study. The age of the student- athletes (M=22.09, sd=1.35 Out of the number, 210 represented college dormitory, 51 represented university at National level, and 46 represented state at national level, and 6 representing Nation at International level. The Athletic Coping Skills Inventory – 28 was used to measure the psychological coping skills for athletes. The instrument consisted of a 28-item scale measuring seven classes of sport-specific psychological coping skills including confidence, goal setting, coping with adversity, freedom from worry, coachability, concentration, peaking under pressure, and goal setting. Results shows that all of the seven coping strategies were significantly correlated with the four level of university representations. The major findings found that a high correlation between the goal setting and confidence level of the athletes. Another findings also found that the goal setting and confidence level also moderately correlated with coping with adversity. However, a weak relationship was found between high chool sports representation and university level of sports representations. Results were further discussed and suggestions for future research also suggested in this paper.

Abstract

The sport participation has been a major part of our life in the societies. Studies on sports participation have found that sports have both positive and negative influence on character buildings. It has been on-going debate on whether ‘sports build character’ but through literature analysis, author had found that ‘with the intention, sports do build character.’ Therefore, strategies of building character through sports are suggested in this paper.
