This thesis is about medical libraries that, foremost, serve the healthcare personnel in their evidence-based practices. The visibility aspect of these types of libraries is explored, both through a librarian’s and a user’s perspective. A theory of invisible information work is applied to understand why and how visibility affects the libraries and the librarians’ work. The visibility is also explored through a user perspective, where theories of user barriers are applied to a group of users with remote access to the medical library. The data is derived from semi-structured interviews with medical librarians, clinical librarians, and a group of healthcare personnel, and analyzed thematically through the theoretical perspectives. Furthermore, the medical library as a place is explored and discussed, which deepens the analysis and understanding of the medical libraries’ impact on the healthcare personnel and their evidence-based practices, as well as the visibility and role of the medical library. The conclusion is that the library and its services, to a large extent, are invisible to the user group, and several barriers to the users’ library access and use are detected and exemplified in the thesis. Another conclusion is that medical librarians have a range of strategies to counter the invisibility, but factors such as resources and being part of a healthcare organization affect the possibility of implementing these strategies.

Då digitala verktyg används nästan dagligen i skolverksamheten samt att dessa ofta är uppbyggda på att användaren ska navigera i applikationer så är det viktigt att synliggöra pedagogernas perspektiv och didaktiska val. Detta för att få fram intentionen och på vilket sätt som pedagogernas valda applikationer verkligen ger en progression hos eleven. Tidigare forskning inom området har visat att de digitala verktygens effekter på elevernas läs- och skrivutveckling är främjande för eleven, men samtidigt hävdar forskningen att det behövs vidare studier av pedagogers perspektiv kring valda applikationer som skapar en inkluderande undervisning utifrån pedagogernas motiveringar. Därav är syftet med denna studie att undersöka hur lågstadiepedagoger motiverar sina valda applikationer för att stödja elevernas läs- och skrivutveckling. Syftet besvaras genom frågeställningen “Vilka applikationer använder lågstadiepedagoger och hur motiverar de sina val för att främja elevernas läs- och skrivutveckling?”. Genom intervjuer har empiri samlats in som analyserats utifrån Bernsteins teori om synlig och osynlig pedagogik samt begreppen mediering och kulturella redskap vilka är hämtade ur det sociokulturella perspektivet. Resultatet visar att digitala verktyg utgör ett komplement och ett hjälpmedel som stärker elevernas förmågor och kunskaper genom individualisering. Resultatet visar även att lustfyllda, motiverande och varierande arbetsformer tillhandahålls där eleven kan arbeta med stöd i applikationer. Slutligen visar resultat på att nivåbaserade och repetitiva övningar tillhandahåller en synlig och osynlig pedagogik som stärker elevens lärande och måluppfyllelse., The curriculum states that the pupil should be able to create texts individually and commonly where words and images interact, both with and without digital tools. Digital tools are almost used daily in school activities and are often based on the user being the navigator in the application, therefore it is important to make the teachers’ perspectives and didactical choices visible. Therefore, it is important to bring out the teachers’ intention and in what way the chosen applications provide progression for the student. Previous research has shown that the effects of digital tools on pupils’ reading and writing development are beneficial for the student, but at the same time research shows that further studies of teachers’ perspective on selected applications are needed that can create inclusive education based on the teachers’ motivations. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine how teachers motivate their chosen applications in order to support the pupils’ reading and writing development. The purpose is answered by the research question “Which applications do primary school teachers use and how do they justify their choices in order to support the pupils’ reading and writing development?”. Through interviews, empirical evidence has been collected and analyzed based on Bernstein’s theory of visible and invisible pedagogy as well as theories of mediation and cultural tools which are borrowed from the sociocultural theory. The results show that digital tools compose as a complement and as a tool to support pupils’ abilities and knowledge through individualization. Results also show that when joyful, motivating and variated forms of work are offered the student can develop with the support of applications. Finally, results show that level-based and repetitive exercises provide both a visible and invisible pedagogy that strengthens pupils’ learning and goal achievement.

The effect of absorber stoichiometry in (Ag,Cu)(In,Ga)Se2(ACIGS) solar cells withbandgaps (Eg) > 1.40 eV is studied on a large sample set. It is conrmed thatmoving away in composition from ternary AgGaSe2by simultaneous reduction inGa and Ag content widens the chalcopyrite single-phase region and therebyreduces the amount of ordered vacancy compounds (OVCs). As a consequence, adistortion in currentvoltage characteristics, ascribed to OVCs at the back contact,can be successfully avoided. A clear anticorrelation between open-circuit voltage(VOC) and short-circuit current density (JSC) is detected with varying absorberstoichiometry, showing decreasingVOCand increasingJSCvalues for [I]/[III] > 0.9.Capacitance proling reveals that the absorber doping gradually decreases towardstoichiometric composition, eventually leading to complete depletion. It isobserved that only such fully depleted samples exhibit perfect carrier collection,evidencing a very low diffusion length in wide-gap ACIGS lms. The results indicatethat OVCs at the surface play a minor or passive role for device performance.Finally, a solar cell withVOC¼ 0.916 V atEg¼ 1.46 eV is measured, which is, to thebest of our knowledge, the highest value reported for this bandgap to date.

I detta arbete undersöks teorin att flickor diagnostiseras senare än pojkar, och vad detta möjligen har för konsekvenser på fritidshemmet, både för personal, övriga elever och de elever med autism. Varför och vilka möjliga skillnader det finns som kan påverka diagnostiseringen för flickor. Syftet med arbetet är att besvara följande frågeställningar; • Hur visar sig diagnosen autism hos flickor? • Finns det skillnader i diagnosen mellan flickor och pojkar? • Vilka konsekvenser får detta för flickorna på fritidshemmet? Arbetet beskriver vidare om vilka konsekvenserna blir på fritidshemmet både för fritidshemmet och eleven själv. Resultatet visar att flickor med autism på fritidshem är ett område som tidigare inte är utforskat i större utsträckning. För att besvara dessa frågeställningar har pedagoger med erfarenhet deltagit i vår undersökning, som arbetar i skolverksamhet och personer med erfarenhet av flickor med autism utöver skolverksamhet. En del av de informanter som deltog kände att de inte hade tillräckligt med kunskap om flickor med autism, och/eller flickor med autism på fritidshemmet. Resultatet visar även att flickor med autism som inte får stöd riskerar utveckla psykisk ohälsa som exempelvis ångest och depression.

Bakgrund: Intensivvård är den högsta vårdinstansen på ett sjukhus, en av sjukvårdens mest resurskrävande behandlingsformer. När en patient blir kritiskt sjuk eller påvisar försämrade vitalparametrar kontaktar vårdpersonalen mobil intensivvårdsgrupp (MIG) som utgår ifrån intensivvårdsavdelningen (IVA). Problemformulering: De kritiskt sjuka patienterna vårdas inte längre bara på IVA men också på vårdavdelningar. I ett omvårdnads- och professionsperspektiv som intensivvårdssjuksköterska är det av betydelse och centralt att förstå orsakerna till kontakt med MIG. Syfte: Att kartlägga kontakter, orsaker och skillnader med mobil intensivvårdsgrupp på ett sjukhus i Västra Götalandsregionen. Metod: En icke-experimentell studie med ett konsekutivt urval och retrospektiv journalgranskning av 386 patientkontakter med MIG under åren 2017–2019. Resultat: Studiens resultat påvisar en hög medelålder. Ingen skillnad återfanns i patientgruppen ur ett könsperspektiv. Den framträdande gruppen är den geriatriska patienten ≥65år som är utsatt och en högriskgrupp vid kontakt med MIG. De utgör majoriteten av alla kontakter med MIG åren 2017–2019. Diskussion: Studiens kartläggning och resultat påvisar behov av kompetenshöjande utbildning och optimeringsteam. Geriatriska patientgruppen behöver vårdinsatser i rätt tid och med rätt kompetens för att minska antalet MIG kontakter och initiera insatser i förtid och motverka svikt av vitala parametrar.

The effects of introducing a passivation layer at the rear of ultrathin Copper Indium Gallium di-Selenide Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) solar cells is studied. Point contact structures have been created on 25 nm Al2O3 layer using e-beam lithography. Reference solar cells with ultrathin CIGS layers provide devices with average values of light to power conversion efficiency of 8.1% while for passivated cells values reached 9.5%. Electronic properties of passivated cells have been studied before, but the influence of growing the CIGS on Al2O3 with point contacts was still unknown from a structural and morphological point of view. Scanning Electron Microscopy, X-ray Diffraction and Raman spectroscopy measurements were performed. These measurements revealed no significant morphological or structural differences in the CIGS layer for the passivated samples compared with reference samples. These results are in agreement with the similar values of carrier density (~8 x 1016 cm-3) and depletion region (~160 nm) extracted using electrical measurements. A detailed comparison between both sample types in terms of current-voltage, external quantum efficiency and photoluminescence measurements show very different optoelectronic behaviour which is indicative of a successful passivation. SCAPS simulations are done to explain the observed results in view of passivation of the rear interface.

Different alkali alternatives for post-deposition of ACIGS were tested, both conventional fluoride salts and in the form of metals. XPS analysis of surfaces treated with K or KF as well as Rb or RbF have been performed, before (only for K and Rb) and after an ammonia etch. In addition to a strong suppression of Cu and Ag near the surface, we observe a difference in the re-distribution of Ga in the surface region after the etch depending on pdt element. Our results are consistent with the formation of K-In-Se and Rb-In-Se compounds for both metal alkalis and alkali fluorides. We find a similar beneficial effect on cell performance for the best cells with the metals as with the fluoride salts.

Coraline by Neil Gaiman has several characters who in many ways break gender norms. The main protagonist of the novel, Coraline, acts more in accordance with masculine gender norms, and the mother figures are mothers who do not fully conform to the traditional mother role. The purpose of this study is to look at how Coraline and the mother figures perform their gender, and in which ways this breaks with or aligns with traditional gender norms. The analytical approach is based on Judith Butler’s theory of gender performativity, and on masculine and feminine gender schemas defined by John Stephens. For the analysis of motherhood, gender performativity has also been used, and works by Adrienne Rich and Einat Natalie Palkovich. This study shows that the protagonists challenge traditional gender role norms of masculinity and femininity, whereof motherhood is part. The study also shows that there is a lack of female role models for the young protagonist, and that acting according to masculine gender norms is desirable and necessary in the novel. But for the mothers, breaking gender norms is undesirable, dangerous, and even punished. A conclusion of the study is that even though Coraline appears to be a feminist novel, the underlying message is not entirely so.

Inledning Detta är en kvalitativ studie om det handlings kompetenta barnet inom ekologisk hållbar utveckling. Detta för att ekologisk hållbarhet är väldigt aktuellt i dagens samhälle på grund av att vi överkonsumerar jordens resurser. Hållbar utveckling är även ett mål som kommer skrivas fram tydligare i den ny reviderade läroplan för förskolan som kommer år 2018. Vårt intresse till att undersöka om barns inkludering i dokumentation och uppföljning kring ekologisk hållbar utveckling härrör från personliga intressen samt forskning. Vi har under vår studietid kommit i kontakt med forskning som visar på att barn ofta blir passiva deltagare inom ekologisk hållbar utveckling, därmed vill vi undersöka hur barnen kan bli handlingskompetenta deltagare. Syfte Syftet är att undersöka hur barn inkluderas i förskolors pedagogiska arbete för att främja ekologisk hållbar utveckling. Metod Materialet till studien samlades in via intervjuer som hölls med fem pedagoger från tre olika förskolor i samma kommun. All insamlad data analyserades utifrån en kvalitativ analys med Bronnfenbrenners utvecklings ekologiska teori som grund. Resultat Resultatet visar att samtliga av pedagogerna vi intervjuade använder sig av ekologisk hållbar utveckling i förskolan samt att de både dokumenterade och följde upp arbetet tillsammans med barnen. Däremot framkom det att det inte alltid blev en uppföljning kring det vardagliga arbetet. Mycket av det de gjorde verkade ske utifrån rutin och pedagogerna upplevde själva att det inte reflekterade tillsammans med barnen kring varför det gjordes.

In this contribution, we show that silver substitution for copper in Cu(In,Ga)Se-2 (CIGS) to form (Ag,Cu)(In, Ga)Se-2 (ACIGS) leads to a reduction of the voltage loss expressed as E-g/q-V-oc. This, in turn, leads to higher device efficiencies as compared to similar CIGS devices without Ag. We report V-oc at 814 mV at a conversion efficiency of 21% for our best ACIGS device with 20% of the group I element consisting of silver. Comparing ACIGS and CIGS devices with the same Ga/(Ga+ In) ratio, the ACIGS devices exhibit about 0.05 eV higher bandgap. Alkali postdeposition treatment with KF leads to improvements in efficiency both for CIGS and ACIGS, but we find that the dose of KF needed for optimum device for ACIGS is 10-20% of the dose used for CIGS.

Research shows graduates of teacher education programs do not always transfer, or apply, the best practices they learn to instructional practice due to factors related to course features, the student, and workplace environment (e.g., Brown & Bentley, 2004; de Jong et al., 2010). This study examined the challenges a secondary-level English teacher in the United States encountered when she attempted to implement culturally responsive teaching practices she learned from a graduate course to her class with ELLs. Findings indicate she faced strategy- and language-related challenges due to student culture and school environment factors (“external challenges”), as well as her own uncertainties as a novice ELL teacher (“internal challenges”). Supportive networking with others outside the workplace facilitated beginning changes in the teacher’s instructional practice when support at her school was not available. Communications between the teacher and professors occurred regularly throughout an entire school year via emails, face-to-face meetings, phone calls, and class visits with feedback. Based on analyses of data (e.g., teacher reflective journal, observation field notes, email correspondence, interview data), the authors conclude, though not easy or automatic, the transfer of culturally responsive practices learned from a university course to classroom practice is possible, but supportive networking may be helpful, or even necessary.

CMOS scaling is near its end but new emerging devices are being developed to replace CMOS. These devices have different features than CMOS, such as the possibility for multi-value logic, which present new opportunities when designing computer systems. In this work we investigate the use of multi-value devices to design a cache that can tune the amount of resources used to store application data. We leverage work on approximate computing to store data that are not application critical in a compact quaternary format while critical data is stored in a more error resilient binary format., TOLOP
