Recently educational system, many features control a student’s performance. Students should be well stimulated to study their education. Motivation leads to interest, interest leads to success in their lives. Appropriate assessment of abilities encourages the students to do better in their education. Data mining is to find out patterns by analyzing a large dataset and apply those patterns to predict the possibility of the future events. Data mining is a very critical field in educational area and it provides high potential for the schools and universities. In data mining, there are various classification techniques with various levels of accuracy. This paper focuses to make comparative evaluation of four classifiers such as J48, Naive Bayesian, Bayesian Network and Decision Stump by using WEKA tool. This study is to investigate and identify the best classification technique to analyze and predict the students’ performance of University of Jordan.

ObjectivesTo (1) describe the dispensing of asthma preventers at hospital discharge and estimate its effect on hospital readmissions, and (2) estimate the effect of community asthma preventer dispensing on readmissions for the subgroup of children who were not prescribed an asthma preventer at discharge.DesignMultisite cohort study with linked administrative data.ParticipantsChildren aged 3–18 years admitted with asthma to a tertiary paediatric, mixed paediatric and adult, or regional hospital between 2017 and 2018.Main outcome measureHospital readmission for asthma within 12 months.ResultsOf the 767 participants, 201 (26.2%) were newly prescribed or requested to continue with asthma preventers. Of these, only 91 (45.3%) dispensed their discharge prescription within 3 days or had an active prescription. There was no evidence for a protective effect of discharge asthma preventer dispensing on asthma hospital readmissions within 12 months (OR 1.17, 95% CI 0.69 to 1.97, p=0.57). Of the 566 children who were not prescribed asthma preventers at discharge, 269 (47.5%) had one or more prescriptions dispensed in the community within 12 months. Participants who were in the protected period (asthma preventer dispensed) had reduced risk of an asthma hospital readmission (HR 0.61, 95% CI 0.36 to 1.02, p=0.06), including preschool children (HR 0.48, 95% CI 0.25, 0.93, p=0.03) on subgroup analysis.ConclusionsThere was a low rate for prescribing and dispensing of hospital discharge asthma preventers and no protective effect was found for its impact on readmissions. A protective effect on readmissions was found for community asthma preventer dispensing.

Flood disaster is a function of both natural hazard and vulnerable environs. It is needed to identify the flood hazard area for proper management and mitigation damage. River flood occurs because of heavy rainfall and geomorphology. In this study, Flood vulnerable areas for different return period flood are assessed by using Hydrologic Engineering Center's River Analysis System (HEC- RAS) model, GIS and Remote Sensing technique. Flood vulnerability analysis is carried out by overlaying the land use map and flood hazard map generated by the hydraulic model. GIS can be used to create interactive map overlays, which clearly illustrate which areas of a community are in danger of flooding. The main objective is to assess the flood vulnerable areas. Special attention of the concerned area on this disaster should be done to minimize loss from damage.

This paper proposes a remote conversation support system for people with aphasia. The aim of our system is to improve the quality of lives (QoL) of people suffering cognitive disabilities. In this framework, a topic list is used as a conversation assistant in addition to the video phone. The important feature is sharing the focus of attention on the topic list between a patient and the communication partner over the network to facilitate distant communication. The results of two preliminary experiments indicate the potential of the system.

In this paper, we show how ontology can be utilized to support distant communication. Although augmented with audio and video functions, and screen sharing facilities, the users of real-time communication tools are facing difficulties due to their inability to provide appropriate meaning for keywords or conversation topics. Our system fills the semantic gap and supports the knowledge of keywords related to a specific topic. This paper presents an extended approach that uses different domain ontologies to carry out mapping by agents. Assisting a teacher by providing appropriate information to students as an intelligent tutoring system is one example application. This paper describes a sample scenario of computer usage operations in an English composition class that shows how the semantic gap between teachers and students can be filled using ontologies.

This paper introduces a multi-agent system to bridge the semantic gap during a conversation between people of different knowledge levels. The system is intended to support smooth communication for providing a definition or explanation of keywords on a specific subject by means of text and graphical format to online users with poor skills. In this framework, software agents act as a personal assistant that monitors the user's information. The Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) is used for agent message transport and instant messaging (IM) at the same time. Although the conversation keyword is identical, the provision of information is different depending on the user's level of knowledge. The paper describes a sample scenario of computer usage operations in an English composition class that can effectively be applied in a teaching environment. We create domain ontology for students to perform mapping with the teacher's ontology to solve the semantic heterogeneity problem. Bridging the semantic gap helps users to communicate easily without considering the knowledge barrier.
