In the context of romantic relationships, partners regularly observe each other's unsustainable behavior. But how do these unsustainable behaviors influence each member of the couple? This research shows that how consumers respond to their partners' unsustainable behaviors depends on the amount of relationship power they possess: high-relationship-power individuals compensate for their partners' unsustainable behavior by acting in a more sustainable manner relative to their baseline tendencies, but low-relationship-power individuals do not increase their own sustainable behavior. This effect occurs because high-relationship-power partners feel more responsible for the reconstruction of the couple identity after it has been damaged by their partner's unsustainable choice; as a result, they have a stronger desire to signal a positive couple identity (i.e., a positive couple sustainable identity). Consistent with this theory, this effect is attenuated for high-relationship-power individuals who have weak green identities. Seven studies provide evidence for these findings by measuring and manipulating relationship power and assessing hypothetical and actual sustainable behaviors. Research has demonstrated that after making high goal progress, consumers feel liberated to engage in goal-inconsistent behaviors. But what happens after consumers make high progress in the context of joint goal pursuit? The authors examine how jointly made progress toward a joint goal pursued by couples affects subsequent individually made goal-relevant decisions. Across five experiments with both lab-created couples and married participants and financial data from a couples' money management mobile app, the authors show that after making high progress on a joint goal (vs. low or no progress), partners with higher relationship power are more likely to disengage from the joint goal to pursue personal concerns (e.g., indulge themselves, pursue individual goals), whereas partners with lower relationship power do not disengage from the joint goal and continue engaging in goal-consistent actions that maintain its pursuit. The authors elucidate the underlying mechanism, providing evidence that the joint goal progress boosts the relational self-concept of high- (but not low-) relationship-power partners, and this drives the effects. Importantly, they demonstrate the effectiveness of two theory-grounded and easily implementable interventions that promote goal-consistent behaviors among high-relationship-power consumers in the context of joint savings goals. Romantic relationships are built on trust, but partners are not always honest about their financial behavior—they may hide spending, debt, and savings from one another. This article introduces the construct of financial infidelity, defined as "engaging in any financial behavior expected to be disapproved of by one's romantic partner and intentionally failing to disclose this behavior to them." We develop and validate the Financial Infidelity Scale (FI-Scale) to measure individual variation in consumers' financial infidelity proneness. In 10 lab studies, one field study, and analyses of real bank account data collected in partnership with a couples' money-management mobile application, we demonstrate that the FI-Scale has strong psychometric properties, is distinct from conceptually related scales, and predicts actual financial infidelity among married consumers. Importantly, the FI-Scale predicts a broad range of consumption-related behaviors (e.g., spending despite anticipated spousal disapproval, preferences for discreet payment methods and unmarked packaging, concealing bank account information). The ability to cope with social identity threats is a crucial consumer capacity. But are all coping methods equally beneficial? Our work examines two dominant coping strategies—where individuals either highlight positive dimensions of the self (self‐focus strategy), or where they emphasize other out‐groups' worse performance (others‐focus strategy). We demonstrate that while the two strategies are equally effective at repairing the threatened identity, the others‐focus strategy leads to greater indulgent consumption for those who hold the threatened identity strongly. We also provide evidence of the underlying mechanism, showing that accessibility drives the differences in the indulgent consumption consequences of these coping strategies, which makes it possible for marketers to externally alter such effects. Specifically, we show that if marketers externally raise the accessibility of outgroups‐related concepts, for example, via an advertising message or environmental design, the impact of the others‐focus strategy on indulgence is diminished. Gifts received with the purchase of a focal product are widely used as a tool aimed at incentivizing sales. Yet, marketers still face many questions related to the effectiveness of this promotional technique. In this paper, we examine whether customer's gender—a variable that is managerially relevant and often collected for targeting and positioning purposes—influences the success of gift promotions. Using novel data from a car rental company, we show that promotional gifts have a stronger positive impact on subsequent purchase behaviors for women (vs. men). Two follow‐up experiments demonstrate that this gender effect is driven by the fact that women obtain greater transactional value from the promotional purchase than men do, leading to enhanced reciprocity motivation among women. Taken together, these findings first argue for a more targeted use of promotions involving gifts and second, raise questions about whether we should carefully consider potential gender differences in predicting the effects of many common marketing tactics that are presently discussed as if universal. The study presented aims to reveal the potential for expanding and intensifying public-private partnerships (PPPs) in the implementation of transport infrastructure projects. It focuses on the existing instruments for promoting PPPs in transport industry. The article presents an analysis of the European experience and the results from the application of instruments for promoting PPPs in transport industry. It summarizes the experience of the European Investment Bank in using these instruments, which will become increasingly important after the change in the use of structural funds and the allocation of the EU funding for infrastructure projects after 2020. It also conducts a critical analysis of the possible forms of implementing PPPs in transport industry and defines their benefits and the areas of application. The main problems faced by public and private sectors in the implementation of PPPs as a form of financing transport infrastructure projects in the country are also outlined. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The main aim of the intermodal passenger transport is to lower the dependences on automobiles as a main mean for movement as well as to enhance public transport usage. In the sphere of passenger transport there still exist many tasks to perform in order to facilitate travel conditions and interchanges between modes. All this is still problematic. Passengersusing several modes of transport for one trip have different problems and interests and they often stay in the background. This article it intended to describe the specific features of the intermodal passenger transport, its advantages and offsets, the development of intermodal hubs as well as the necessity of Intermodal Journey Planners development and their elements. The trends for current development of the intermodal passenger transport are concluded and the challenges it faces are identified.
