The paper describes the work on the adaptation of the MSCEIT v.2.0 methodology and the development of other methods within the framework of the model of emotional intelligence as ability that diminish sociocultural differences and specificity of stimuli when used in samples other than American ones. The article refers to the procedure for development and standardization of a new reliable psychodiagnostic Russian-speaking method for measurement of the level of development of emotional intelligence of a person. The TEI-method is based on the model of emotional intelligence as an ability by J. Mayer, P. Salovey and D. Caruso and the psychoevolutionary theory of emotions by R. Plutchik. According to the ability model, EI is defined as the ability to process information contained in emotions. In the process of creating a new methodology for measuring emotional intelligence — the TEI-method — the shortcomings of the standardization process of the Russian version of MSCEIT v.2.0 were identified, most of which were culturally specific. These shortcomings were taken into account. 1007 people aged 20 to 72 years (487 men and 520 women, average age 35.9 years) took part in the psychometric testing of the TEI-method. The differences of the TEI and the MSCEIT v.2.0 are described. The TEI-method demonstrates a satisfactory level of basic psychometric indicators of validity and reliability.

The paper aimes to the introduction into scientific circulation of the materials of the Zhigulyovsk I settlement excavation, which was explored in 2017 by the expedition of the Agency for the Preservation of the Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Samara Region under the leadership of V.A. Tsybin. The research presents the grouping of ceramics according to external signs and description of technological characteristics of some stages of the pottery process. The technical and technological analysis of ceramics included the determination of the characteristics of the raw material, the traditions of forming paste, the nature of the surface treatment and the firing of the vessels. The materials of settlement refer to the classical variant of the southern sites of the Imenkovo culture, but in the ceramic complex there are distinguished ceramics groups that differ in appearance (external culture of the vessels) and in the manufacturing technique (internal culture of the vessels). These differences are probably related to the chronological development of pottery of Imenkovo culture and reflect both the natural evolution of pottery skills in time and the infusion of certain components at different stages of this development.

The paper is devoted to the development of a software complex for predictive modeling of biogeochemical cycles in the Azov Sea on high-performance computer systems in a limited time. The complex development includes the creation of software modules of the computational structure to calculate the concentrations of phosphorus, nitrogen, silicon, sulfur, dissolved oxygen forms and describe in detail phyto- and zooplankton dynamics in the Azov Sea; the integration of various environmental databases, satellite monitoring. The complex is adapted to solve a wide class of predictive problems of water ecology and water resources management. It includes the implementation of developed 3D mathematical model of hydrophysics and biological kinetics on computational grids, consistent with the complex shape of the water coastline. Parallel algorithms have been developed for numerical implementation of water ecology problems, oriented to high-performance computer systems. To increase the calculation efficiency of computational grid fragments assigned to graphics accelerators, an algorithm and its software implementation were developed in the CUDA C language. Based on the developed specialized software tools focused on supercomputers, scenarios for the development of the environmental situation and sustainable development management at biological rehabilitation of the Azov Sea were developed, including forecasts of changes in harmful algae concentration; dynamics of spatial interaction processes between phyto- and zooplankton populations; evolution of biological kinetics processes on the example of plankton interaction.

The paper covers the development of an algorithm for modeling the pollutant distribution dynamics in shallow water and its implementation on a high-performance computer system in a limited time. A mathematical model of the pollutant transport, including oil and petroleum products, in the water environment has been developed taking into account a number of determining hydrodynamic and hydrophysical factors, including destruction and deposition, affecting the nature of their flow. Methods of its numerical implementation have been developed for prediction the pollution spread in shallow waters in limited time on a high-performance computer system. The main advantage of it in predictive modeling of environment processes and phenomena is taking into account the multidisciplinary nature of real processes, the complex geometry of simulated domain, ensuring high accuracy of calculations, performing a large number of calculations in a short time. Simulation of the pollutant transport of various etiologies was performed taking into account a number of determining factors, including their structure and deposition on the bottom surface, on the basis of the developed software and algorithmic tools. It used a scenario approach that meets the basic principles of effective predictive modeling in water systems. The simulation results are the foundation for planning and conducting measures to prevent and eliminate the consequences of technogenic hazards.

The paper covers the modeling of hydrodynamic processes in shallow waters in the presence of pollutants of various types, as well as areas covered with plastic waste, including nano- and microplastics. The simulation performed using new and effective mathematical instruments, including assimilation methods of measurement data, restoration of the state function, diagnostics of quality of the developed models, the research the sensitivity of models to variations in input data, the integration of models with various scales. Interrelated non-stationary, spatially inhomogeneous mathematical models of hydrodynamics and biological kinetics of shallow waters were developed and numerically implemented. They describe non-linear processes of hydrophysics, biogeochemical cycles, transport and transformation of suspensions and sediments with microplastic particles and other pollutants, absorption of it by zooplankton and fish, movement of plastic particles through food, the forecast of their impact on the main hydrobionts of shallow waters of the Azov-Black Sea basin, including the Azov Sea, Taganrog Bay, Gelendzhik Bay. The models take into account the heat and salt transport; the complex, dynamically changing water geometry; friction on the bottom and wind stresses; turbulent and advective heat and mass exchange in three coordinate directions; the Coriolis force; river flows; evaporation, temperature and oxygen regimes. They make it possible to improve the accuracy of hydrophysical processes modeling in shallow waters, to detect vortex structures of currents that can be a natural pollution traps, including microplastic. Based on a supercomputer, a complex of application has been designed and adapted for solving predictive problems of water ecology and water resources management.

The paper presents an approach to the implementation of the model of eutrophication of the Sea of Azov waters using variational methods for assimilation of data obtained during expeditionary studies. The current fields are calculated on the basis of a mathematical model of the hydrodynamics of shallow water bodies, which includes the equation of motion (the Navier-Stokes equation) and the continuity equation. The developed software package uses the materials of expeditionary work and allows you to refine the model of pollution of the aquatic environment and biota through the use of variational methods of data assimilation. Based on the developed software package, a forecast of water pollution with harmful substances is given, which in turn leads to the development of harmful diatoms and toxic blue-green algae.

Prion-like spread of disease-specific tau conformers is a hallmark of all tauopathies. A 19-residue probe peptide containing a P301L mutation and spanning the R2/R3 splice junction of tau folds and stacks into seeding-competent fibrils and induces aggregation of 4R, but not 3R tau. These tau peptide fibrils propagate aggregated intracellular tau over multiple generations, have a high β-sheet content, a colocalized lipid signal, and adopt a well-defined U-shaped fold found in 4R tauopathy brain-derived fibrils. Fully atomistic replica exchange molecular dynamics (MD) simulations were used to compute the free energy landscapes of the conformational ensemble of the peptide monomers. These identified an aggregation-prohibiting β-hairpin structure and an aggregation-competent U-fold unique to 4R tauopathy fibrils. Guided by MD simulations, we identified that the N-terminal-flanking residues to PHF6, which slightly vary between 4R and 3R isoforms, modulate seeding. Strikingly, when a single amino acid switch at position 305 replaced the serine of 4R tau with a lysine from the corresponding position in the first repeat of 3R tau, the seeding induced by the 19-residue peptide was markedly reduced. Conversely, a 4R tau mimic with three repeats, prepared by replacing those amino acids in the first repeat with those amino acids uniquely present in the second repeat, recovered aggregation when exposed to the 19-residue peptide. These peptide fibrils function as partial prions to recruit naive 4R tau-ten times the length of the peptide-and serve as a critical template for 4R tauopathy propagation. These results hint at opportunities for tau isoform-specific therapeutic interventions.

For study the conditions of occurrence and rules of the development of foci of self-heating in friable media, including cacked, a pilot booth for identifying mutual correlation of thermo-physical characteristics of the investigated medium and external parameters has been elaborated. The stand allows managing processes in the test environment: to provoke the emergence of self-heating hearths and vary the intensity of their development, and to record the spatial-temporal distributions of temperature and humidity which restore interesting features of the environment. Capacity for studying the granular medium is a vertical cylinder where the axisymmetric problem is implemented due to emergence of self-heating chamber in the thickness of the medium being studied – on the axis of the container symmetry. The center is created at the specified location by the granular medium of delivery of moisture by the special channel and heating the given place to the desired value. Heat removing from the source of self-heating is carried out at the expense of transfer of heat the coolant located in the heat taking tube. The heat taking tube is placed inside the heat sink system which is a sectional tube that is installed in the thickness of granular material under study. To eliminate uncontrolled flows of heat from self-heating chamber for heat removal system the pipe section located outside the chamber provoking self-heating are made of material with low thermal conductivity. The section located in the focal zone is made of high thermal conductivity material. To improve the thermal contact between the tube and the inner heat taking surface thermally conductive heat sink section the intermediate coolant system has been used. Contact of intermediate coolant in the space between heat taking tube and the inner surface of the thermally conductive heat sink section of the system is automatic when removal from the source of self-heating heat is necessary.

The article is devoted to the analysis of pottery traditions of the population associated with the existence of “long houses” on Staraya-Maina hillfort (Ulyanovsk Oblast), dated by the Great Migration Period. The research is based on the ceramic collection found on the hillfort during the excavations in 1990–1991. This paper presents a typological description of vessels and the results of technological analysis conducted by the author according to A. A. Bobrinsky’s method. The analysis revealed two massive pottery traditions, one of which was widely known on Imenkovo culture settlements, while the second one was a new discovery. The author suggests that this group of ceramics might be associated with an inflow of population from the Middle Oka region and from the Oka-Sura region in the fifth century AD, which brought the typical complex of garnishments of Ryazan-Oka type to the Middle Volga region.

Clonal micropropagation of plants is a modern popular method of vegetative reproduction, which allows to obtain high-quality planting material in a large volume in a short time. The research is devoted to the technology of clonal micropropagation of the rose Reine Sammut, in particular, optimization of the nutrient medium composition. To increase the efficiency of micropropagation, the silicon-containing preparation Siliplant was added to the composition of the nutrient medium according to the Murashige-Skoog (MS) recipe as an alternative to the complex of trace elements. At the stage of the actual micropropagation with the combined use of 6-benzylaminopurine (6-BAP) at doses of 1.0; 2.0 and 3.0 mg/l and Siliplant at doses of 1.0; 2.0 and 3.0 ml/l, no large differences were found. Nevertheless, the inclusion of Siliplant (1.0 ml/l) and 6-BAP (3.0 mg/l) in the medium contributed to an increase in the reproduction factor by 3.1 pcs./cuttings at LSD05 = 1.0 pcs. In addition, Siliplant at a dose of 1.0 ml/l as part of a hormone-free nutrient medium MS contributed to a significant increase in shoot growth (by 4.2 mm at LSD05 = 3.6), and at a dose of 3.0 ml/l stimulated the development of standard micro-plants of roses.

In the process of numerical studies, the stress-strain state of the rock massif around the mine working driven at a depth of 600 m was determined. The article presents the analysis of the distribution of total vertical and horizontal stresses isolines in the working roof, as well as the ratio of the residual strength of rocks to the initial. The influence of the roof bolting on the displacement of working contour was established. Dangerous zones in the near-contour rocks of preparatory working were identified. The maximum exposure area of unsecured part of the roof during driving the workings in seam 3-3a was established.

The article examines the analysis of the institution of social control in the Russian Federation and its subjectivity. The relevance of the study is due to the conceptual diversity and lack of scientific consensus regarding the concept of “social control”. Also, this consensus is absent regarding other related concepts, which include “public control”, “civil control”, “people’s control” and others. To solve this problem, a group of domestic sources that define these concepts are analyzed. It also analyzes the legal acts regulating social control in Russia. The role of the Public Chamber and the analysis of current scientific approaches to its consideration are considered in a separate block. In conclusion, it is concluded that there is a fundamental contradiction between expert assessments and the current legislative framework. This leads to the fact that civil initiatives in the field of social control can only be implemented in the forms proposed by the state.

The article examines the theoretical, legal, and empirical aspects of social control in the public administration system in the context of digitalization. Toward the active development of the digital society, the issues of digitalization are gaining more and more popularity. The article analyzes the regulatory, financial, personnel, organizational and managerial aspects of effective social control in the public administration system based on sociological survey and experts’ interviews/ In conclusion the author offers practical digital solutions to improve the effectiveness of social control. Public administration becomes a system that is transformed by feedback from its users - citizens and depends on this feedback as a criterion for reproduction.

INTRODUCTION. Vaccination is the main measure for the primary prevention of human papillomavirus (HPV)-related diseases. The development of novel vaccine candidates is underway worldwide, including in the Russian Federation. At the same time, the clinical introduction of new HPV vaccines is seriously hampered by the lack of clear and unambiguous recommendations for conducting preclinical studies of these vaccines.AIM. This study aimed to analyse regulatory documents on HPV vaccines, to study the experience of conducting preclinical studies, and to summarise the preclinical approaches that could be recommended for developers and applicants seeking approval for new preventive HPV vaccines, including the vaccines being developed in the Russian Federation.DISCUSSION. The authors have analysed regulatory documents issued by the World Health Organisation (WHO), the International Council for Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use (ICH), and the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). Additionally, the authors have reviewed the experimental results of preclinical studies of HPV vaccines. The known licensed and pipeline HPV vaccines are similar in terms of their characteristics and constructive features. However, there may be some differences in the HPV serotype coverage and the methods used to produce the HPV L1 capsid protein. To date, studies have confirmed the role of the HPV L1 capsid protein in the development of specific immunity, rendering challenge tests in animal models unnecessary. Papillomatosis modelling may be required for choosing an alternative immunological target or for studying an alternative (non-parenteral) route for vaccine administration. Preclinical study programmes may be supplemented with individual stages of comprehensive assessment of adjuvants and other additives included in novel HPV vaccine compositions.CONCLUSIONS. The authors have studied the international experience and presented a systemic overview of the methods and approaches used in preclinical studies of HPV vaccines. The authors have formulated recommendations for developers for the planning and organisation of preclinical studies of HPV vaccines (including immunogenicity, toxicity, and local tolerance assessments required for licensing new vaccines).

The results of a review of the epizootiological and epidemiological situation on anthrax around the world in 2023 and the forecast of morbidity in the Russian Federation in 2024 are presented. In 2023, a complication of the epizootiological and epidemiological situation on this infection was recorded in Russia. Seven outbreaks of anthrax with infection of 14 farm animals and 19 humans were registered in five constituent entities of three federal districts (Volga, Siberian, and Central Federal Districts). Epizootiological and epidemiological instability due to the anthrax was detected in four neighboring countries: Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. Anthrax among farm and wild animals was recorded in Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America. Cases of human disease were reported in Africa, Asia and Europe. Human infections occurred during contact with infected animals, products of animal origin, consumption of meat from sick/fallen livestock and wild animals. The incidence rate of anthrax in animals and humans in Russia in 2024 will correlate with the completeness of registration and specific immunization coverage of susceptible animals and persons from groups with high occupational risk of infection. With proper implementation of all preventive measures and effective surveillance of infection, anthrax incidence in the entities of the Russian Federation will amount to isolated cases.

In frequently ill children with recurrent respiratory diseases (RRD), violations of local immunity and microbiocenosis of the mucous membranes can contribute to the development of acute and chronic bronchopulmonary diseases. Vaccination against major pathogens, including S. pneumoniae, can help prevent respiratory infections in children.Objective: to study the microbiocenosis and local immunological factors of the nasopharyngeal mucosa in children with RRD, the serotype composition of S. pneumoniae in children with community-acquired pneumococcal pneumonia (CAP) and pneumococcal carriers, as well as the correspondence of the serotype landscape to the composition of modern pneumococcal vaccines.Materials and methods: The study included 150 patients (104 children with RRD and 46 patients with CAP). To assess the condition of the nasopharyngeal mucosa cultural methods, morphofunctional, immunological and capsule PCR typing of S. pneumoniae isolates were performed. Statistical analysis was performed using the Statistica 10.0 package.Results: The age structure was dominated by children aged 3 to 6 years (36%). The majority of patients with RRD had pronounced nasopharyngeal mucosal dysbiosis (n=60), as well as destruction of epithelial cells (n=97). These factors may predispose to the development of bronchopulmonary diseases, including community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). Capsule PCR typing of S. pneumoniae isolates from the nasopharynx was performed in 46 patients. It has been established that in the structure of nasopharyngeal carrier S. pneumoniae in children with CAP, serotypes “3” and 19F prevailed, which were also the main pathogens in pneumococcal CAP. In nasopharyngeal pneumococcal carrier, the thirteen–valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13) overlapped 39.6% (95%CI 27.6–53.1%) of serotypes, in pneumococcal VP – 57.2% (95% CI 36.5-75.5%), while PCV20 overlapped 22.6% more S. pneumoniae serotypes in children with CAP.Conclusion: The strategy for the prevention of acute respiratory infections in children is immunization against pneumococcal infection, which should be carried out taking into account the regional prevalence of S. pneumoniae serotypes.

The article is based on the field materials of three expeditions to the Greeks of Russia (territories of the Krasnodar Krai, Karachay-Cherkessia, Caucasus Mineral Waters region). This paper analyzes the typological transformations that Greek given names and surnames underwent in different periods of history, as well as the peculiarities of naming among the Pontic Greeks. The historical and modern trends in the choice of a name are considered, as well as the features of the functioning of Greek surnames in different historical and social contexts (“Russification” of surnames during the period of repressions, reverse process of “Hellenization” when moving to Greece, morphemic translation of surnames from Turkic into Greek, etc.). Along with names that easily could be labeled as “Greek” (Nikos, Despina, Christos, Ellada, Athena, Euclid, Socrates), Greeks in Russia use “Russian” names (e.g. Maria, Elena, Pasha, Olya, Nadezhda) as well. It often turns out that these “Russian” names are hypocoristics of Greek ones: e.g., Olya from Olympiada, Pasha from Parthena. The paper also contains the description of the features of Greek anthroponymy in the field of traditional culture, such as the use of “double” names to protect one against the evil eye and “stopping” names designed to prevent the birth or death of children. The “Russification” of surnames and given names, as well as the use of Georgian names by Greeks during their residence in the territory of the Georgian SSR, are considered as strategies of ethnic mimicry, which were common among different ethnic groups in the USSR. At the same time, the reverse processes are characteristic of the last three decades: the return of “Greekness” to surnames and given names when obtaining a new citizenship, when installing tombstones, etc. Ever since the Soviet era, the Pontic Greeks have found the use of ancient Greek names that clearly indicate the ethnicity of the bearer, recently in the Caucasus it has become possible to baptize a child with this name in the Russian Orthodox Church.

The use of non-traditional types of raw materials in the production of flour confectionery products makes it possible to increase the nutritional value of products and enrich them with useful nutrients (proteins, dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals). During the study, organoleptic, chemical, microbiological, and biochemical methods of analysis of raw materials, semi-finished products and products were used to determine the chemical composition and calculate the nutritional value of the proposed cupcakes. Partial replacement of premium-grade wheat flour in the recipe for the Stolichny cake with stone fruit flour (pomegranate and apricot kernels) and whole-grain wallpaper wheat flour, as well as the introduction of highly sugared molasses, sunflower oil with the addition of olive oil, contribute to the improvement organoleptic and physicochemical characteristics of products, increase their functionality and do not lead to a deterioration in microbiological characteristics. Consumption of 100 g of developed fortified products ensures the degree of satisfaction of the daily requirement for protein by 19 %, fat – 8, carbohydrates – 14, dietary fiber – 28, minerals – 6–30, vitamins – 6–39 %. The results of the study will contribute to expanding the range of enriched muffins with increased nutritional value using traditional and non-traditional raw materials that ensure food safety and resource conservation.

The notion of politeness is closely connected with communication control as one of its important mechanisms, which, however, has not been thoroughly researched in academic literature. In the present paper, we view this mechanism through the prism of communication monitoring, defined as a social negotiation instrument aimed at the speaker’s self-control and regulation of other people’s verbal and nonverbal behaviour. The study employs a complex of qualitative methods including observation, definition analysis, discourse analysis and introspection. Drawing upon the data of over 1500 communicative situations in English and Russian, we distinguish the prognostic, diagnostic, regulative, corrective, and reflexive functions of monitoring, as well as the function of conflict resolution. The connection between monitoring and politeness is determined by the existence of social constraints and the necessity to observe established rules and norms. The presence of multiple communication variables makes it possible to distinguish different types of monitoring: (i) horizontal vs. vertical monitoring; (ii) self-monitoring vs. monitoring of others; (iii) verbal vs. nonverbal monitoring; (iv) oral vs. written monitoring; (v) explicit vs. implicit monitoring; (vi) pre-monitoring vs. concurrent monitoring vs. post-monitoring; (vii) direct vs. mediated monitoring; and (viii) overt vs. covert monitoring. (Im)politeness is manifested in all the types through the choice of words and communication strategies, observance or violation of conversational rules, and different forms of nonverbal behaviour. These findings can lead to their practical application and help to enhance the effectiveness and quality of human interaction.

The report on the results of the strategic session “Priorities for the development of student sports in the Russian Federation until 2030”, which was held within the framework of the International Exhibition and Forum “Russia” by ITMO University with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, is presented.

Aim. To evaluate comprehensively the quality of life (QoL) of patients with pelvic organ prolapse (POP) who have indications for reconstructive surgery (RS) and determine the optimal tools for QoL assessment as part of preoperative screening. Materials and methods. The study included 860 patients hospitalized for RS at the Saint-Petersburg State University Hospital. The following validated questionnaires were used to assess QoL: the RAND SF-36 (general QoL questionnaire and specialized questionnaires), in particular the P-QoL (QoL Pelvic Organ Dysfunction Questionnaire in POP), the PFDI-20 (Pelvic Organ Dysfunction Questionnaire), the ICIQ-SF (Stress Incontinence Questionnaire), the PISQ-12 (PTD Sexual Dysfunction Questionnaire), the HADS (Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale). Lower abdominal and lower back pain was assessed using a Visual Analog Scale. Results. Significant QoL reduction was found in most patients, including in physical and psycho-emotional aspects. Among the patients, there were no women with a high level of physical and mental health components. The indicators of vitality, general health, role-physical, and emotional functioning were more significantly reduced. More than 1/3 of women had borderline or increased levels of anxiety, and 1/4 had high levels of depression. Notably, the P-QoL questionnaire was used for the first time in the russian population of patients with POP. It identifies general health perceptions, the impact of prolapse on life, role, physical, social and personal limitations, emotions, sleep/energy, and symptom severity. Based on the study, optimal tools for preoperative screening and monitoring the state of patients after surgery are proposed. Conclusion. The population of women with POP with indications for RS is heterogeneous in terms of the severity of physical and psychosocial functioning impairment and the degree of impact of pelvic organ prolapse symptoms. The following questionnaires can be considered as optimal tools for assessing QoL and symptom burden in patients with POP as part of preoperative screening: P-QoL to assess the decrease of various QoL aspects, PFDI-20 to determine the severity of specific pelvic organ dysfunction symptoms, HADS to identify the level of anxiety and depression.

This article emphasizes the importance of considering regional specificities when evaluating the effectiveness of preferential economic measures applied to the Russian Arctic. The study's relevance stems from the need for a comprehensive assessment of trends and outcomes associated with the use of such measures under current conditions. The goal of the research is to develop a method for measuring the performance of the Russian Arctic as a preferential treatment zone. The proposed method employs a system of indicators that capture various aspects of the measures' effectiveness, ranking methods, and the creation of integral indices designed to identify regional characteristics. Additionally, correlation analysis, specifically Spearman's rank correlation coefficient, is used to demonstrate the complexity and co-directionality of processes within regional economies, which influence the effectiveness assessments. The article provides integral evaluations of using preferential economic measures in the regions of the Russian Arctic. The Chukotka Autonomous Okrug ranks first in terms of implementation intensity, followed by the Republic of Karelia and the Arkhangelsk Region. The Murmansk Region occupies third place, while the Nenets and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrugs are positioned at the bottom. This ranking does not reflect the overall level of economic development in these Arctic regions but highlights the specific contributions of processes driven by preferential treatment. The correlation analysis between the indicators reveals the complex impact of preferential treatment on economic processes across the Arctic regions. The study's exploration of co-directionality through integral indices shows a spatial mismatch due to variations in the relationships between indicators across different regions. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the development and testing of this methodology, as well as the identification of regional specificities in implementing preferential economic measures. The practical significance of this research lies in its justification for the need to systematically monitor regional specificities in the implementation of preferential economic measures. This monitoring can serve as the foundation for developing targeted local measures with higher economic efficiency.

Background. The study of the psychological resources of a person experiencing a life-threatening disease is important due to the increased number of social requests related to improving the quality of a patient's full-fledged adaptation to life. The effectiveness of coping with the psychological consequences of a serious illness is determined by the system of internal conditions of the individual as well as by the age characteristics, due to which a subjective assessment of the psychotraumatic situation, the nature of a person's appeal to potential opportunities are specified. Objective. The study focuses on human resources when coping with the psychological consequences of post-traumatic stress, depending on age and the characteristics of the life-threatening brain disease (local or vascular pathology of the brain). Study Participants. 125 people showing no signs of cognitive deficits and who have given their informed consent were involved in the study. Of those, 64 people had a diagnosis of benign meningioma (30–70 years), and 61 people were diagnosed with cerebrovascular disease (31–69 years). Methods. To assess the level of psychotraumatization in respondents, the “Impact of Event Scale” technique was used, emotional and personal characteristics were studied using the Freiburg Personality Inventory and the “World assumptions scale” technique. Results. It has been established that, regardless of the type of disease, caused by local or vascular pathology of the brain, and the age of a person, a common resource for coping with psychotraumatic experiences is, on the one hand, accepting the situation of the disease and on the other, distancing oneself from experiences that mark it as hopeless, causing despair. For people with symptoms of cerebrovascular disease coping with stress, it is more important to regulate relationships with the outside world and maintain their functionality. While for people with meningioma, a positive self-attitude and the focus on unlocking inner potential, which becomes especially relevant in older age, are more important. Conclusions. The resourcefulness of a person in a situation of severe illness is determined by the rational nature of emotional self-regulation, including through selective appeal to social support. Specific resources associated with the peculiarities of the stressful situation of brain disease become more significant with age and manifest themselves in the specifics of the personality orientation (outward or inward).
