Background: Granulosa cell tumors (GCT) of the ovary are extremely infrequent tumors accounting for about 3% of the entire ovarian malignancies with a very high rate of recurrence. Due to its ability to secrete estrogen unopposed, it can give rise to endometrial cancer thus leading to the coexistence of the two tumors on rare occasions. Case presentation: We present here, the case of a 58-year-old post-menopausal Nigerian woman with GCT coexisting with endometrial carcinoma. She presented with abdominal pain, weakness, and post-menopausal vaginal bleeding. Examination revealed an irregular 30-week size abdominopelvic mass while an abdominopelvic ultrasonography showed a right ovarian mass and multiple uterine fibroids. However, the diagnosis of GCT coexisting with endometrial carcinoma was histologically confirmed. She has been clinically stable for ten months post-surgical intervention and completion of adjuvant chemotherapy (Cisplatin [75mg/m2] and Docetaxel [75mg/m2]). Conclusion: Although rare, GCT can exist synchronously with endometrial carcinoma. This should form an important differential diagnosis in a post-menopausal woman with bleeding par vaginum as this is its most important clinical presentation. Total abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral adnexectomy should be done in older patients with GCT. Additionally, adjuvant chemotherapy may be of tremendous benefit to diagnosed patients.

Background: Lipo-leiomyoma accounts for about 0.03%-0.2% of uterine tumours. The aetiology of lipo-leiomyoma is unclear, with some suggesting fatty metamorphogenesis and others involving growth factors and oestrogens. Radiological evaluation and histology are necessary for definitive diagnosis. If asymptomatic, no treatment is needed, but surgical resection is performed in symptomatic patients. Case Presentation: This was a case of a 63-year-old Nigerian woman who experienced pelvic pain and heaviness for a year, worsening pelvic pain and distension, and post-menopausal bleeding. Abdominal examinations revealed a pelvic mass, vaginal examination showed no vaginal and cervical lesions, while abdominopelvic ultrasonography (USS) unveiled a hyperechoic mass in the posterior uterus. She underwent a total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. Histopathological assessment of the samples showed a confirmatory diagnosis of uterine lipo-leiomyoma. Conclusion: Lipo-leiomyoma is a rare, distinct uterine pathology that should be considered a differential diagnosis in post-menopausal women with vaginal bleeding. Total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy are recommended for menopausal women with symptomatic disease to prevent recurrent anaemia and also remove possible sites of the tumour even as the patient is unlikely to conceive again. Histopathological evaluation is crucial for post-menopausal women with coexisting bleeding per vagina.

Desmoid fibromatosis (desmoid tumors) is rare tumors. It can occur as intra-abdominal, extraabdominal, or abdominal wall tumor depending on the site. The abdominal wall type is usually sporadic, but few have been associated with familial adenomatous polyposis. They are commonly seen in young females who are pregnant with a history of the previous cesarean section scar or within the 1st year of the last childbirth. There is an association between this tumor, presence of estrogen receptors, and abdominal trauma. We present a 29-year-old Nigerian woman with fungating lower abdominal wall tumor. This tumor is rare, a high index of suspicion will be very important in making the diagnosis.

Background: Little is known about the cosmetic surgery procedures sought by Nigerian women. Aim: We sought to report the proportion of cosmetic surgery procedures accessed by Nigerian women and determine any associations between the demographics and cosmetic procedures accessed., Patients and Methods: A retrospective review was conducted between January 2020 and July 2021 of all cosmetic surgery procedures at a single private cosmetic surgery practice. Data were analyzed using means, Mann-Whitney U-test, chi square test, and Fisher's exact test as appropriate. The statistical significance was set at P ≤ 0.05., Results: Of the 392 consultations for cosmetic procedures, 245 (62.5%) patients accessed cosmetic surgery. Most were women (239 (97.6%)) and single (178 (72.7%)). The median age of the patients at surgery was 29.0 years (IQR 26-33), the median weight was 78.8 kg (IQR 71.4-88.8), and the median body mass index (BMI) was 28.1 (IQR 25.7-32.3). Liposuction was the procedure accessed by nearly all the patients (224 (91.4%)). Next to this was bilateral buttock augmentation (199 (81.2%)). Other cosmetic procedures such as tummy tuck, facial cosmetic surgery, umbilicoplasty, and labiaplasty each constituted less than three percent of the patients. The abdomen (224 (91.4%)), back (219 (89.4%)), and arms (79 (32.2%)) were the most common regions of the body sought for liposuction, while the calves (2 (0.8%)) were the least. Liposuction of the arms was associated with the BMI (p < 0.003)., Conclusion: Liposuction and bilateral buttock augmentation are the most common cosmetic surgery procedures accessed by this cohort of Nigerian women., Competing Interests: None

We report the case of a young multiparous Nigerian woman who presented with a tender left breast lump and enlargement of the left axillary lymph nodes for which a provisional diagnosis of carcinoma of the breast was made after clinical and radiological evaluation. The mass was pathologically diagnosed as tuberculous mastitis and anti-tuberculous therapy was instituted although she later absconded. This case shows that TM may present a diagnostic challenge on clinical, radiologic and microbiological investigation. Therefore, a high index of suspicion as well as FNAC and/or histological evaluation of tissue samples remain very important its diagnosis.

Necrobiosis lipoidica (NL), one of a group of "necrobiotic" granulomatous cutaneous disorders, is characterized histologically by layers of poorly defined, horizontally oriented, altered "necrobiotic" collagen surrounded by, and alternating with, layers of chronic inflammatory cells, histiocytes, and giant cells throughout the full thickness of the dermis. It is a rare disease associated mostly with diabetes mellitus in whom it may affect 0.3%-1.2% although it has also been associated with other cutaneous and systemic disorders and may occur in otherwise normal people. NL has been reported from all over the world, but there appears to be very few reports of NL in Black Africans. We report the case of a 55-year-old diabetic Nigerian woman who presented with typical NL lesions on the lower legs and who responded very well to topical betamethasone dipropionate 0.05% cream.
