The steel pony-truss bridge is a structure commonly used in road and rail traffic. It has a simple structure, a large bearing capacity, and high economic efficiency. The safety of steel pony-truss bridges is highly dependent on the stability conditions of the top chord. This paper presents the reliability assessment of the compressive top chord of steel pony truss bridges according to stability conditions. For this purpose, a deterministic model was built from the stability conditions of the compressive top chord; then, a stochastic model was established based on the deterministic model, in which the structural geometries and material properties are random parameters. Finally, the reliability of the structure is evaluated using Hypercube Latin sampling and Monte-Carlo simulation.

Lymphoma represents a heterogeneous group of cancers affecting the lymphatic system, encompassing nonHodgkin lymphoma (NHL) and Hodgkin lymphoma (HL). The majority of NHL cases originate from B cells. HL is characterized by the presence of rare Hodgkin and Reed-Sternberg cells. Within the context of the inflammatory response, two SH2 domain-containing protein tyrosine phosphatases (SHPs), namely SHP-1 and SHP-2, serve as negative regulators. Deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs) play a crucial role in inhibiting NF- κB activation in response to various stimuli. This study focuses on the DUBs OTUB1, OTUB2, and Cezanne. Blood samples were collected from 50 NHL patients, 26 HL patients, and 50 healthy individuals. Quantitative RT-PCR was employed to assess the mRNA expression of OTUB1, OTUB2, Cezanne, SHP-1, and SHP-2, while ELISA was used to determine IL-6 and CA125 concentrations. The results revealed that the mRNA level of OTUB1 was significantly downregulated in NHL patients but not in HL patients. Notably, Cezanne expression was downregulated in lymphoma patients, with significantly lower levels observed in HL compared to NHL patients. Furthermore, SHP-1 mRNA expression was significantly lower in the NHL group compared to the HL group or healthy individuals. Conversely, SHP-2 gene expression was upregulated in NHL patients but remained unchanged in HL patients. In conclusion, these findings highlight significant differences in the expressions of DUB and SHP genes and the inflammatory response in lymphoma patients. This study provides a foundation for further investigation into the roles of DUBs and tyrosine phosphatases in regulating the functional activation of lymphoma cells.

Foehn wind or foehn effect is a hot dry wind type blowing down from the mountains. It appears in the middle of Vietnam from early April to mid-September every year. The foehn effect has characteristic humidity drops deeply while the temperature rises. This has affected the concrete shrinkage deformation in the work construction. This paper presented an experimental study to evaluate the concrete shrinkage deformation under the influence of the Foehn wind in Vietnam. The experiment was performed in a simulated environment with temperatures high and humidity down, which is intended to simulate the phenomenon of foehn wind and climate change in the middle of Vietnam. The datasets obtained from this experiment were tested with previous results, it was highly accurate and reliable. The research obtained results have reflected that the concrete shrinkage deformation in foehn wind conditions has a significant effect compared to normal conditions in both the value and speed. In addition, this test also shows that the concrete shrinkage deformation with Ca(OH)2 added to in the mixture is smaller than concrete without Ca(OH)2.

Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) is a group of lymphoproliferative disorders characterized by the abnormal proliferation and accumulation of lymphocytes in the lymphatic system. An ovarian tumor domain containing ubiquitin aldehyde binding protein 1 (Otubain-1) is a deubiquitinating enzyme that cleaves ubiquitin or ubiquitin-like molecules and is expressed in various human tissues. The pathogenesis of NHL is associated with activations of the nuclear transcription factor (NF-κB) and signal transducer and activator of transcription proteins (JAK/STAT) signaling pathways. In this study, all the expressions of Otubain-1, NF-κB2, SHPs and STATs genes, the concentrations of cytokines IL-1ß, IL-6 and TNF-a and clinical features in NHL patients were examined. To the end, gene expression levels of 82 NHL patients and 56 healthy individuals were determined by quantitative real time RT-PCR and secretion of cytokines by ELISA. As a result, concentrations of IL-6 and TNF-a in the patient group were found higher than in the healthy individuals and patients with higher LDH concentrations in the clinical cutoff, 280 U/L showed increased concentrations of AST, ALT and GGT than those with normal LDH concentrations. Interestingly, NHL patients with high Otubain-1 expression had significant elevations of GGT and ferritin concentrations as well as STAT-5 expression compared to those with low Otubain-1 expression. In conclusion, the present study indicates that up-regulation of Otubain-1 led to activation of STAT5 in lymphoma cells and liver dysfunction and metabolic syndrome in NHL patients. This paper presents a simple analytical method for determining the stress-strain state of reinforced concrete (RC) beams subjected to biaxial bending. A simple supported beam with three input load values applied at two positions is used in this study. The beam cross-section is divided into numerous elements and then the stress-strain state at the centre of these elements is analysed. The material behaviour of concrete and rebar are both simulated using a bilinear model. The results of this method are compared and verified with a three-dimensional finite element approach. The results indicate that the proposed method is easy to implement and its performance is comparable to a numerical simulation method. The stress-strain state, location, and shape of the neutral axis, as well as the shape of the compressive and tensile area can be extracted using the proposed method. This method can also present the position and length of the crack in the cross-section. Moreover, this method ensures accurate evaluation when selecting materials and the initial layout of the rebars. The testing and evaluation of the accuracy of the material selection can be completed by using this proposed method. Ovarian carcinoma (OC) and breast cancer (BC) are mainly caused by alterations in genes such as BRCA1 and BRCA2, which are involved in differentiation and survival of cancer cells. The protein CA125 (MUC16) is released by cancer cells in most OC and a few BC patients. The cutoff point of CA125 level for tumor growth and metastasis is 35 U/mL. Production of CA125 monoclonal antidody (mAb) to determine expression level of this antigen by ELISA has been well known. In this study, we aimed to generate CA125-specific mAb for developing a new inhouse ELISA kit. To this end, BALB/c mice were immunized with CA125 protein and splenocytes of immunized mice were fused with myeloma Sp2/0 cells. Efficiency of mAbs secreted from the hybridoma clones was examined by ELISA and flow cytometry analysis. As a result, among 3 stable hybridoma cell lines identified, A1 clone attained about 90% positive for anti-CA125 mAb, whereas H1 and H3 clones were about 40% and 50% positive for anti-CA125 mAb, respectively. By flow cytometry analysis, anti-CA125 mAb from A1 clone was more specific to CA125 antigen present in OVCAR -3 cells than those from H1 or H3 clone. In addition, the isotype of the obtained mAb was specific IgG1 and Kappa light chain. In conclusion, the mouse anti-human CA125 mAb generated in our lab was specifically binding to CA125 antigen and used as the capture antibody in sandwich ELISA system for early diagnosis as well as monitoring therapeutic response in OC patients.
