This study aimed at exploring teachers' perceptions of reflective teaching strategies in their teaching practice and the barriers that hinder the implementation of reflective teaching strategies. Quantitative and qualitative data were obtained by using a questionnaire and semi-structured interviews. The study took place in the context of high schools in most of the provinces in the Mekong Delta. The respondents involved in this research were fifty English as a foreign language (EFL) high-school teachers. The results revealed that most teachers have positive perceptions of the significance of reflective teaching strategies in their teaching. At the same time, the participants found barriers preventing them from implementing reflective teaching strategies in their language teaching such as lack of awareness of reflective teaching strategies, time or workload limitations as well as some obstacles related to the application of peer observation as a strategy of the reflective process. Finally, accordingly, the findings gained from two types of research tools, some pedagogical implications, and research suggestions on the effectiveness of EFL teachers' application of self-reflection strategies in the teaching-learning process were proposed in the study.

This study aimed to investigate essential employability skills for English as a foreign language (EFL) students in the Mekong Delta for the context of the 21st century. It was also to determine the similarities and differences between the important employability skills from the perspectives of the employers and EFL students. In this study, a questionnaire was delivered to EFL students who were juniors and seniors at a university in the South of Vietnam, majoring in English Education and English Studies (English Interpreter). At the same time, interviews were realized on both EFL students and employers. The findings showed that both EFL students and employers highlighted the attributes of self-confidence, receptiveness to feedback, and the use of body language in communication. The types of employability skills are similarly recognized among employers and EFL students in the same fields of employment. However, a significant difference was also found among employers on different job-specific skills. The results also indicated that EFL undergraduates were all highly aware of preparing the employability skills for their future professions.

Committing errors and feedback in writing are important in the process of language acquisition (Corder, 1975; Foster et al., 1988; Krashen, 1981; Marina et al., 2005; Salehi et al., 2018; Valizadeh et al., 2020). In Vietnam, however, error-analysis in writing in the contexts of EFL students has not been investigated fully. This research study explores and examines common mistakes of second-year English language students in writing English. The research was conducted with different tools including error assessment of some writing assignments, a survey to measure the ability to recognize errors in English writing, and interviews with some participants from an insider's perspective. The results found that the level for each of the written errors in the results varied widely. Certain types of errors were correctly identified by research participants and their ability to correct the issues was demonstrated properly at some points. However, most of them were unable to recognize errors, suggesting inconsistency in the ability to recognize and correct errors. Specifically, the research found a list of types of errors which occur while writing English from the phrase level to the sentence level, among other groups of errors while writing. This study could foster a trend to develop strategies to help students learn English better from both teachers' and students' point of view in today's English training programs.

Herein, a ternary nanocomposite of magnetite nanoparticles (MNPs), TiO2 nanoparticles (TNPs), and graphene oxide (GO) (Fe3O4@TiO2/graphene oxide, GMT) has been successfully synthesized for photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) dye under natural sunlight irradiation, which is a significant elevation in photocatalytic activity and sustainability for both Fe3O4@TiO2 nanoparticles and magnetic GO materials. MNPs was first incorporated with TNPs to form Fe3O4@TiO2 core/shell nanoparticles, followed by the addition of GO. The nanocomposite's morphological, chemical and physical properties were investigated through various spectroscopic techniques such as Fourier-transformed infrared (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) adsorption. Vibrating-sample magnetometry, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) equation, scanning electron (SEM), and transmission electron (TEM) microscopies were also used for the nanocomposite formation demonstration. In comparison with bare components, GMT samples displayed much higher degradation efficiency on rhodamine B (RhB) dye solutions under natural sunlight irradiation. The nanocomposite, therefore, proclaimed high potential as a "next-step" material of Fe3O4@TiO2 core/shell nanoparticles for pollutants removal from wastewater and other photocatalytic applications. A new dammarane-type triterpenoid glycoside, 3-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→3)-O-{β-L-arabinofuranosyl-(1→2)}-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl]-20-deoxypseudojujubogenin (1), was isolated from the EtOAc fraction of Bacopa monniera (Plantaginaceae). Five known compounds, p-hydroxybenzoic acid (2), betulinic acid (3), luteolin (4), monnierasid I (5), 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl (3R)-1-octen-3-ol (6), and a mixture of bacopaside N1 (7) and bacopaside N2 (8), were also identified. Human pancreatic cancer cell lines have remarkable tolerance to nutrition starvation, which enables them to survive under a tumor microenvironment. The search for agents that preferentially inhibit the survival of cancer cells under low nutrient conditions is a novel antiausterity strategy in anticancer drug discovery. In this study, the methanolic extract of the leaves of Artocarpus altilis showed 100 % preferential cytotoxicity against PANC-1 human pancreatic cancer cells under nutrient-deprived conditions at a concentration of 50 µg/mL. Further investigation of this extract led to the isolation of eight new geranylated dihydrochalcones named sakenins A-H (1-8) together with four known compounds (9-12). Among them, sakenins F (6) and H (8) were identified as potent preferentially cytotoxic candidates with PC50 values of 8.0 µM and 11.1 µM, respectively., (Georg Thieme Verlag KG Stuttgart · New York.)
