Background: Early activation of the emergency medical service (EMS) is crucial for the care of patients with STEMI. Methods: A retrospective cohort study of patients hospitalized with STEMI was conducted. Two groups of patients were compared: Bedouins and Jews. The primary outcome was one-year mortality. The secondary endpoints were 30-day mortality, mode of transportation and door-to-balloon time. Results: There were 445 Bedouin patients (BPs) and 1103 Jewish patients (JPs). BPs with STEMI were significantly younger than JPs, had more diabetes and higher rates of smoking. More JPs arrived at the hospital by ambulance compared to BPs (56.9% vs. 31.9%, p < 0.001). Direct transportation to the catheterization laboratory was observed in 51.9% of JPs and in 43.6% of BsP, p = 0.003. Door-to-balloon time was longer in BPs compared to JPs (median 65 min vs. 62 min, p = 0.044). There were no differences in one-year, 30-day and in-hospital mortality between the two groups. After adjustment by propensity score analysis for JPs vs. BPs, there was a protective factor for one-year mortality (hazard ratio (HR), 0.68; 95% CI 0.48–0.97), p = 0.034. Thirty-day and one-year mortality in the subgroup of BPs that arrived at the hospital from the outpatient clinic was higher compared to JPs (7.1% vs. 4.4%, p = 0.004 and 10.4% vs. 5.6%, p < 0.001, relatively) Conclusions: Underuse of EMS by BPs with STEMI compared to JPs resulted in a delay in direct transportation to the catheterization laboratory, longer door-to-balloon time and a higher 30-day and one-year mortality in the subgroup of BPs who arrived at the hospital after visiting an outpatient clinic. The article aims to substantiate the procedure for measuring the motivational and volitional component of professional training for future tactical aviation pilots engaged in combat flights. The study employed a methodology to determine the motivational complex of personality as an indicator of satisfaction with the chosen military pilot profession. This methodology was based on previous research that highlights the correlation between professional satisfaction and the type of motivational complex, including intrinsic, extrinsic positive, and extrinsic negative elements. The diagnostic method utilized in this study was developed by K. Zamfir and modified by A. Rean. Furthermore, the research assessed volitional qualities by examining the content and expression of decision-making in challenging situations. The diagnostic method employed in this assessment was developed by N. Stambulova. The measurement of the motivational-volitional component of professional readiness among military pilot cadets revealed notable differences between the experimental group and control group in terms of their motivational and volitional indicators. The obtained results underline the significance of incorporating these findings to enhance the educational process for military pilot cadets. Implementing a pedagogical system based on the effectiveness demonstrated in measuring the motivational component of professional training will be crucial in this regard. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We perform a model-independent search for leptoquarks (LQs) at the Large Hadron Collider through their pair-production and subsequent decay into t t ¯ ττ intermediate states. We show that, assuming full luminosity of the Run 2, a fully hadronic signal emerging from this intermediate state can surpass in sensitivity the established searches relying on leptons in the final state. Our conclusion is supported by a thorough Monte-Carlo analysis, and we advocate the deployment of our proposed search channel in the proper experimental setting of the Run 3. Furthermore, in order to highlight the full scope of this approach for constraining LQ theories, we interpret our results in the context of the string-inspired Exceptional Supersymmetric Standard Model, which naturally predicts the S1-type scalar LQ states that we analyse here. The strongly interacting sector in the E6 inspired composite Higgs model (E6CHM) with baryon number violation possesses an SU(6) × U(1)L global symmetry. In the weakly-coupled sector of this model the U(1)L symmetry associated with lepton number conservation is broken down to a ZL2 discrete symmetry, which stabilizes the proton. Near the scale f ≳ 10 TeV the SU(6) symmetry is broken down to its SU(5) subgroup, giving rise to a set of pseudo- Nambu-Goldstone bosons (pNGBs) that involves the SM-like Higgs doublet, a scalar coloured triplet and a SM singlet boson. Because f is so high, all baryon number violating operators are sufficiently strongly suppressed. Nevertheless, in this variant of the E6CHM the observed matter-antimatter asymmetry can be induced if CP is violated. The pNGB scalar coloured triplet plays a key role in this process and leads to a distinct signature that may be detected at the LHC in the near future.

In the E6 inspired composite Higgs model (E6CHM) the strongly interacting sector possesses an SU(6)×U(1)B×U(1)L global symmetry. Near scale f ≳ 10TeV the SU(6) symmetry is broken down to its SU(5) subgroup, that involves the standard model (SM) gauge group. This breakdown of SU(6) leads to a set of pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone bosons (pNGBs) including a SM–like Higgs and a SM singlet pseudoscalar A. Because of the interactions between A and exotic fermions, which ensures the approximate unification of the SM gauge couplings and anomaly cancellation in this model, the couplings of the pseudoscalar A to gauge bosons get induced. As a result, the SM singlet pNGB state A with mass around 750 GeV may give rise to sufficiently large cross section of pp → γγ that can be identified with the recently observed diphoton excess.
