Heteroptera species collected from numerous localities in Anatolia, particularly Eastern Anatolia, between 1998 and 2021 are presented. 124 species in 97 genera belonging to following 20 families are recorded: Miridae (32), Nabidae (2), Anthocoridae (1), Tingidae (1), Reduviidae (7), Pentatomidae (33), Scutelleridae (9), Acanthosomatidae (1), Cydnidae (1), Coreidae (6), Rhopalidae (4), Alydidae (3), Stenocephalidae (2), Rhyparochromidae (12), Lygaeidae (3), Geocoridae (3), Artheneidae (1), Heterogasteridae (1), Oxycarenidae (1) and Pyrrhocoridae (1). Among them, Xanthochilus omissus (Horváth, 1911) (Rhyparochromidae) and Ceratocranum caucasicum Jakovlev, 1879 (Scutelleridae) are new for the Heteroptera fauna of Turkey. Furthermore, Dryophilocoris (Dryophilocoris) flavoquadrimaculatus (De Geer, 1773), Odontoplatys suturalis (Jakovlev, 1883) (Miridae) and Engistus salinus Jakovlev, 1874 (Geocoridae) that had been recorded from Turkey only once, are recorded from new localities. Additionally, most of the recorded species are new for the provinces that they are collected from, and following ten species are recorded from the Eastern Anatolian region for the first time: Cyllecoris histrionius (Linnaeus, 1767), Eurycolpus aureolus Seidenstücker, 1961, Odontoplatys suturalis (Jakovlev, 1883), Polymerus (Poeciloscytus) brevicornis (Reuter, 1879) (Miridae), Jalla dumosa (Linnaeus, 1758), Leprosoma tuberculatum Jakovlev, 1874, Picromerus conformis (Herrich-Schäffer, 1841) (Pentatomidae), Megalonotus emarginatus (Rey, 1888), Peritrechus nubilus (Fallén, 1807) (Rhyparochromidae) and Horvathiolus syriacus (Reuter, 1885) (Lygaeidae). Finally, the Heteroptera fauna of Transcaucasian region is briefly analyzed. It is revealed that among 1113 species known from this region, 255 species have not yet been recorded from Turkey and most of these species remain to be discovered from Eastern Anatolian region of Turkey, reflecting the need for future field researches in this region.

Bu çalışma, Türkiye’nin Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi’nde yer alan Iğdır ilinde ekimi yapılan yonca bitkisi (Medicago sativa L.) zararlılarından Sitona Germar türlerini belirlemek amacıyla 2019 ve 2020 yıllarında yürütülmüştür. Arazi incelemeleri Nisan-Kasım ayları arasında 39 lokasyonda gerçekleştirilmiş, 64 tarladan atrap yardımıyla 6.107 ergin birey toplanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; Sitona humeralis Stephens, 1831, S. concavirostris Hochhuth, 1851, S. bicolor Fåhraeus, 1840, S. longulus Gyllenhal, 1834, S. callosus Gyllenhal, 1834 ve S. puncticollis Stephens, 1831 (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) olmak üzere 6 tür belirlenmiştir. Bu türlerden en yoğun ve baskın türün % 81.4, oranıyla S. humeralis olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Diğer türlerin yoğunlukları ise sırasıyla % 12.1, % 5.0, % 1.1, % 0.3 ve % 0.1 oranlarında bulunmuştur. Sitona ergin popülasyonlarının Temmuz ve Ekim ayında en yüksek sayıya ulaştığı, S. humeralis’in en yoğun ve yaygın tür olduğu belirlenmiştir.

The adults of Sitona humeralis Stephens, 1831 (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) cause serious damages by feeding on the leaf and shoot parts of the clover plant (Medicago sativa L.), and the larvae on the capillary root and nodocytes. This article was carried out in the clover fields and laboratory in Igdir province in 2019-2020 in order to determine the morphology and biology of S. humeralis. In the studies, in order to determine the egg stages of S. humeralis, a 1-4 cm deep topsoil containing clover plants in 5 different parts of the field, a soil plant with a depth of 20 cm and a surface area of 20 x 20 cm to determine the larva, pupa and adult stages were taken with the root with a shovel and examined in the laboratory. As a result of the studies, it was determined that S. humeralis overwinters in egg, larva and adult stages. Female insects lay some of their eggs in October and November in the autumn, pause their egg laying with the decrease of the air temperature, and continue to lay eggs until the end of March and early May as the weather gets warmer. The eggs were laid on the soil surface in the root zone of the clover plant. While the larvae emerging from the eggs laid in early October are active in the soil until the beginning of November, they spend the winter without feeding until the end of March to the beginning of April as the weather gets colder, and the larvae that come out of the eggs laid in the late April-early May and enter the pupa stage in the late May-June. Natural deaths start in April-May in adults who spend the winter, a new generation of adults start to emerge from June and the emergence continues until mid-July. From August to mid-October, the new generation adults spend their rest in the soil around the plant roots. In the studies, it was understood that S. humeralis produce a generation a year.

The leaf-litter weevil diversity in a natural forest refuge fragments among in hazelnut orchards is investigated at eastern Black Sea Region. Ten weevil species Curculio nucum (Linnaeus, 1758), Curculio glandium Marsham, 1802, Acalles caucasicus Reitter, 1891, Anoplus roboris (Suffrian, 1840), Anchonidium caucasicum (Motschulsky, 1845), Plinthus osellai Meregalli, 1985, Ceutorhynchus picitarsis Gyllenhal, 1837, Coeliodes transversealbofasciatus (Goeze, 1777), Pseudomyllocerus schneideri (Schilsky, 1911) and Trachodes hystrix Gyllenhal, 1836 are found by litter reducer. Of these, Trachodes hystrix is new record for the fauna of Turkey.

A new species Asproparthenis omeri sp. nov. closely related to A. vexata (Gyllenhal, 1834) is described in the tribe Cleonini (Curculionidae) from the Aras River valley in Northeastern Turkey. The new species is the first representative of the genus Asproparthenis Gozis, 1886 with vestigial hind wings. Digital photographs of diagnostic morphological features of the new species and A. vexata are provided. Adults of the new species feed on leaves of a halophilic chenopod Bassia hirsuta (L.) Twenty-three observations of leaf beetles and their feeding damage are reported. Masquerade is found in 15 observations. In 12 observations dark colored beetles were making obvious dark colored damage. Light colored beetles of three species were observed making light colored damage. Masquerade in Chrysomelinae is reported here for the first time. In Galerucinae, masquerade is recorded for the first time for the species of Calomicrus Stephens and Orthocrepis Weise. New host plants are recorded for: Longitarsus hittita Biondi - Anchusa azurea Mill.; Longitarsus audisioi Biondi - Symphytum asperum Lepech.; and Chaetocnema tibialis (Illiger) - Chenopodium rubrum L.

The first detection of one of the most harmful defoliating insects, the ash weevil Stereonychus fraxini (DeGeer, 1775) in Black Sea Region (Trabzon) of Turkey is reported here. Both the genus StereonychusSuffrian, 1854 and the species S. fraxini are new records for the Turkish fauna. A diagnostic morphological update is presented with digital evident. Female terminalia segments, genital structure, metathoraxic wings are described for the first time.

This study was conducted to determine alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) pest species of Sitona Germar (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) in Iğdır Province located in the Eastern Anatolia Region of Turkey where alfalfa was cultivated in the years 2019 and 2020. Field surveys were carried out at 39 locations between April and November, and 6.107 adult individuals were collected from 64 fields using sweeping nets. Based on research results, six species Sitona humeralis Stephens, 1831, S. concavirostris Hochhuth, 1851, S. bicolor Fåhraeus, 1840, S. longulus Gyllenhal, 1834, S. callosus Gyllenhal, 1834 and S. puncticollis Stephens, 1831 (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) were identified. Of these species, S. humeralis was found as the most intense and dominant species with a rate of 81.4%. The density rates of other species were detected as 12.1%, 5.0%, 1.1%, 0.3% and 0.1%, respectively. Gültekin, 2020, Temnorhinus nasutus (Hochhuth, 1847), T. hololeucus (Pallas, 1781), Entymetopus lineolatus Motschulsky, 1860, E. limis (Ménétriés, 1849), Esamus mnischekii (Hochhuth, 1851), Tanymecus dilaticollis Gyllenhal, 1834 ve T. tenuis Reitter, 1903 türleri belirlenmiştir. Asproparthenis steveni, B. affinis, E. lineolatus, E. limis ve Temnorhinus nasutus türleri için yeni biyolojik bulgular ve konukçu bitkiler tespit edilmiştir. Bassia hirsuta bitkisi B. affinis, M. strabus, Entymetopus lineolatus, E. limis ve Tanymecus tenuis için yeni bir konukçudur. Suaeda confusa bitkisi T. nasutus ve Atriplex micrantha bitkisi T. hololeucus için yeni konukçulardır. İlk bilimsel veri olarak, Entymetopus lineolatus ve A. steveni pupa dönemlerinin topraktan hazırlanmış bir kapsül içerisinde ve konukçu bitkinin altında toprak içerisinde bulunmuştur. En ilginç bulgulardan birisi de Temnorhinus hololeucus’un uçma kabiliyetinin olduğu, çöl habitatında konukçu bitkiye ulaşmak için uçuş yapabilmesidir. New biological data and new host plants are reported for A. steveni, B. affinis, Entymetopus lineolatus, E. limis and Temnorhinus nasutus. Bassia hirsuta is a new host plant for B. affinis, M. strabus, Entymetopu lineolatus, E. limis and Tanymecus tenuis. Suaeda confusa is a new food plant for Temnorhinus nasutus, and Atriplex micrantha, for Temnorhinus hololeucus. Pupae of Entymetopus lineolatus and A. steveni are detected in a soil case under their host plants which are the first data on the localisation of pupal stage of these species. One of the most interesting findings is that T. hololeucus has the ability to flight to reach host plants in desert habitat. Entymetopus limis, genus Esamus Chevrolat, 1880 and Esamus mnischekii (Hochhuth, 1851) are new records for the fauna of Turkey.

The tribe Mecysolobini Reitter, 1913, the genus Alcidodes G.A.K. Marshall, 1939 and the species Alcidodes karelinii (Boheman, 1844) are new to fauna of Turkey. The species is redescribed based on diagnostic morphological characters which are presented with their digital images. Genital structures with abdominal terminalia segments are studied and depicted for the first time. Geographical data with new locations and a distribution map are provided. The host plant of A. karelinii is Convolvulus arvensis L., confirmed based on rearing samples from seed capsules.

This is the first report of a very rare weevil Altonomus vernalis (Iablokoff-Khnzorian, 1957) 60 years after its description. It is a new record for the Turkish fauna and Cirsium arvense (L.) is a first plant association record. Comparative sexually dimorphic characters, measurements, and digital photographs are presented for the first time.
