Abstract Background People living with obesity receive treatment services from health professionals for their weight or other health needs. In order for the students of the Faculty of Health Sciences, who will be a member of the health team in the future, to raise awareness of the society, it is necessary to first determine their obesity prejudices and eating habits. Methods The study is a cross-sectional and descriptive research. The study data were collected from 406 students studying at the Faculty of Health Sciences by online questionnaire method using a personal characteristics identification form, GAMS 27-Obesity Bias Scale and University Students Eating Behavior Scale (USEBS). The data were analyzed with SPSS 26 statistical software. Results In this study, all students were found to be prone to prejudice according to the mean total score of the Obesity Bias Scale and Obesity Bias Scale was higher in female students studying in perfusion department. In the sub-dimensions of the University Students Eating Behavior Scale, the enjoyment of food score was found to have the highest mean score. Conclusion According to the results of the study, there is a need to develop educational planning that will both increase the awareness of university students about the relationship between eating behaviors and obesity and eliminate obesity prejudice tendencies due to the fact that they are educated to provide services in the field of health.

Abstract Purpose The study aims to evaluate the hospitalization diagnoses and nursing diagnoses of the refugee and local population hospitalized in internal medicine clinics, which are especially important in the early diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of chronic diseases, and to emphasize their importance in nursing care. Methods The study was carried out in a descriptive retrospective design. The files of 3563 patients admitted to the internal medicine clinic of a training and research hospital in Türkiye in 2022 were evaluated. SPSS 26.0 program was used for data analysis. Results In the study, 95.3% of hospitalizations were native and 4.7% were refugee patients. It was determined that refugee patients admitted to the internal medicine service had a lower mean age compared to the native population (p 0.05). When the medical diagnoses of hospitalization were examined, it was determined that the highest number of hospitalizations in the native and refugee populations were for bacterial infections in both genders. In nursing diagnoses, it was determined that both populations and genders were diagnosed with infection risk by the medical diagnoses of the patients. Conclusion As a result of the study, it was observed that the duration of hospitalization, reasons for hospitalization, and nursing diagnoses of local and refugee patients were similar. In addition, it was determined that the patients’ medical hospitalization diagnoses and nursing diagnoses were compatible.

Objective: Finding out the forms, frequency, and contributing variables of female urine incontinence was the goal of this study. Methods: The research is cross-sectional and descriptive. In this study, 408 women who were at least 18 years old participated. The International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Short Form and the Women’s Personal Data Identification Form were used to gather study data. Results: It was discovered in this study that 37.3% of women had urine incontinence. The quality of life was found to be minimally impacted by urinary incontinence (2.81±4.02). Aim: Individuals receiving hemodialysis treatment may observe glucose fluctuations due to decreased plasma glucose concentration and insulin level. The aim of this study was to evaluate pre-dialysis blood glucose measurements in acute hemodialysis patients to reduce complications that may occur during this process. Methods: The study design was an observational-retrospective one. A total of 200 files belonging to the last 3 months in three centers were scanned between August 1, 2022, and September 30, 2022. While the files were being scanned, the 30-question “Hypoglycemia in Hemodialysis” patient form was used, and the IBM Statistical package for the social sciences 26.0 statistical program was used to evaluate the data. Results: Hypoglycemia developed during hemodialysis in 4 of 104 patients whose blood glucose was checked before hemodialysis and in 2 of 96 patients whose blood glucose was not measured. It was determined that there was no significant difference (p>0.05) in terms of the rate of development of hypoglycemia between patients whose blood glucose levels were checked before hemodialysis and those who did not. Conclusion: The study’s results suggest that acute hemodialysis patients’ pre-dialysis hypoglycemia does not influence the hypoglycemia that develops during the session.

Objective:It was aimed to compare self-care agency of refugee and native populations in chronic hemodialysis patients.Methods:The study was conducted with 33 refugees and 48 native patients in the hemodialysis unit of a training and research hospital in our country. Data were collected through face-to-face questionnaire. IBM SPSS statistics program was used to evaluate the data.Results:In the study, there was a significant difference between two populations in terms of drug use (p=0.041, p0.05).Conclusion:It was observed that in chronic hemodialysis patients, the situation of meeting their self-care was the same in the refugee and native populations, while the refugees were insufficient in the use of drugs and the native population in self-monitoring. It is thought that it is necessary to get support from a hospital interpreter in order to eliminate language problems while giving self-care training to refugees, and it is thought that it will be appropriate to conduct the study with groups with different chronic diseases.

Objective:Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a chronic disease that usually occurs in the legs, resulting in involuntary movement of the legs with uncomfortable sensations. RLS negatively affects the quality of life of individuals. In this study, it is aimed to increase awareness by determining the frequency of RLS in the adult population.Methods:The study was a descriptive and cross-sectional study. In the study, 565 individuals aged 18 and over participated. The data were collected online from individuals with the form of describing the personal characteristics of the individuals, the RLS Diagnostic Criteria Questionnaire, and the RLS Severity Rating Scale. IBM SPSS statistics 26.0 program was used in the analysis of the data.Results:In this study, the frequency of RLS was 17.5% and the severity score was 19.22±6.97 (moderate). The rate of admitting to a health institution due to the symptoms of individuals is 5.8%. In this study, the frequency of RLS was found to be significantly higher in those with diabetes, hypertension, age, and high body mass index.Conclusion:Although most of the participants in this study had symptoms of RLS, it was seen that they were not admitted to a health institution. If these individuals are not treated, their quality of life gets affected negatively, and this negatively affects the quality of health care. In order to increase the quality of health care, RLS should be screened especially in risky groups and treatment should be started in determined patients.

Abstract Background Nurses in critical care and palliative care units care for patients suffering from severe pain and suffering and at high mortality risk. For this reason, nurses working in these units should be psychologically resilient. However, nurses who are constantly exposed to the death process face the risk of thanatophobia. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between thanatophobia levels and the psychological resilience of nurses working in intensive care and palliative care units. Methods The sample of this descriptive and cross-sectional study included 158 nurses working in intensive care and palliative care units. Personal information form for nurses, Thanatophobia Scale and Psychological Resilience Scale for Adults were used. Data were collected through an online questionnaire in the study. Percentage calculations, mean measurements, Kruskal Wallis test and Mann Whitney U test were used in the statistical evaluation of the data. Results The mean of thanatophobia scale and psychological resilience scale was found 31.74 ± 10.08 and 108.34 ± 7.12, respectively. Abstract Background Educational leadership is one of the most demanding skills for healthcare staff to enhance the quality of health care. There is a need for a scale to evaluate the educational leadership levels of nurses. The objective of this study was to develop and examine the validity and reliability of the Education Leadership Scale for Nursing Students. Methods Data were collected from 280 Turkish nursing students. The validity and reliability of the tool were confirmed with exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, Cronbach’s alpha and Pearson correlation. The scale was developed in five stages (reviewing the literature, developing items, sending scale items to the experts for content validity index, piloting test with students, performing the validity and reliability analysis of the tool). Results The Educational Leadership Scale for Nursing Students consisted of 19 items and a three factor structure. Confirmatory factor analysis results showed that there was a sufficient model fit. Construct validity was verified, and Cronbach’s α level of all factors was found to be greater than 0.70. Conclusions The currently developed scale can measure the educational leadership characteristics of nursing students.
