Abstract

Seamless navigation has attracted lots of attention and many methods have been reported in the literature or made available as commercial applications. The process of navigation can be interpreted as a continuous movement of 3D objects from one unoccupied 3D indoor/outdoor space to another. From a technical perspective, a 3D navigation model is one of the critical components that should be available to perform successful navigation. A major approach to build a unified navigation model to support seamless path computation is linking indoor navigation networks to outdoor road/street-based networks. Because of different sources of indoor and outdoor navigation networks, the major approach fails to build up true seamless navigation models. With regards to this, we propose a unified 3D space-based navigation model (U3DSNM). The presented model ensures all types of spaces for navigation (indoor, semi-indoor, semi-outdoor, and outdoor) have the same representation, management methods, and network derivation approach, thereby building up unified navigation networks to support seamless navigation paths planning. The model can be linked to the international standards (data models) that are also based on spaces, such as IndoorGML and the on-going version of CityGML 3.0. Three navigation path planning cases show the feasibility of U3DSNM.

Abstract

Web applications dominate all aspects of our lives and hence their systematic development has become an absolute necessity. Though a multitude of web engineering approaches is available, the focus is mainly on their presentation and implementation. The requirements and design phases for web application development are often overlooked. This paper presents an automated Web-Application Development (WAD) tool that captures the users' requirements with the Web-specific Goal-Oriented Requirements Language (WebGRL) diagrams and produces an Enhanced Adaptive Object-Oriented Hypermedia (EA-OOH) design model. The transformation tool from WebGRL to EA-OOH design model is exclusive to web applications and provides a Unified Modelling Language (UML) Compliant UML Profile, for an easy adaption from a platform-independent model to a platform-specific model that facilitates the implementation. Abstract

Dose optimization for Radioactive Occupational Personal (ROP) is an important subject in nuclear and radiation safety field. The geometric environment of a nuclear facility is complex and the work area is radioactive, so traditional navigation model and radioactive data field cannot form an effective environment model for dose assessment and dose optimization. The environment model directly affects dose assessment and indirectly affects dose optimization, this is an urgent problem needed to be solved. Therefore, this paper focuses on an environment model used for Dose Assessment and Dose Optimization (DA&DO). We designed a multi-layer radiation field coupling modeling method, and then explored the influence of the environment model to DA&DO by virtual simulation. Then, a simulation test is done, the multi-layer radiation field coupling model for nuclear facilities is demonstrated to be effective for dose assessment and dose optimization through the experiments and analysis. Abstract

To improve the precision and robustness of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) integrated navigation systems, this paper presents an Interacting Multiple Model (IMM) navigation algorithm based on a Robust Cubature Kalman Filter (RCKF) with modified Zero Velocity Update (ZUPT) method assistance. This algorithm has a two-level fusion structure. At the bottom level, the Global Positioning System/Inertial Navigation System (GPS/INS) integrated navigation model and the Dynamic Zero Velocity Update/Inertial Navigation System (DZUPT/INS) integrated navigation model are established by modifying the Zero Velocity Update (ZUPT) method. Subsequently, the RCKF algorithm adopts a robust factor to weaken the influence of measurement outliers on the filter solution. At the top level, the estimation results of the GPS/INS integrated navigation model and the DZUPT/INS integrated navigation model are fused by the IMM algorithm. In addition to enhancing the robustness of filter estimation in the presence of measurement outliers, the proposed navigation algorithm also corrects navigation errors with ZUPT method assistance. Simulation and experimental analyses demonstrate the performance of the proposed navigation algorithm for UAVs.
