Relationships between levels of physical activity and self-referent thought among Native and non-Native students in grade 9 of a school in Southern Ontario have been studied. Perceived adequacy was not significantly different in the two groups, and Native students reported less physical activity than others. It can be concluded that physical educators should find culturally appropriate interventions to increase physical activity in Native youth and should consult with Native leadership. More investigation into generalization to less prosperous Natives is needed.

The Native people of the St. Lawrence and Great Lakes regions played both passive and active roles in the tourist industry during the nineteenth century. They served involuntarily as part of the New World landscape, but, more importantly, both women and men turned the intrusion of tourists to some economic advantage by selling souvenirs and acting as wilderness guides. The tourists' response to the Native presence was conditioned by their own cultural assumptions regarding race, civilization, and wilderness, and the tourist industry itself acted as yet another colonizing force in nineteenth-century Ontario.

In both diachronic and synchronic studies of archaeological examples of Ontario Iroquoian longhouses, the standard method of analysis is spatially static. In this paper, the spatially dynamic method is used to analyze longhouses representative of diachronic and synchronic episodes encompassing over 800 years of Ontario Iroquoian prehistory. The results of the analysis using this approach provide significant quantifiable data on the development of Iroquoian matrilocal residence systems and functional and tribal variation in longhouse settlement patterns. En los estudios diacronicos tanto como sincronicos sobre ejemplos arqueologicos de las casas (longhouses) iroquesas de la provincia canadiense de Ontario, el metodo establecido de analisis se trata el espacio en una manera estatico. Aqui, se usa un metodo lo cual se trata el espacio en una manera dinamica para analizar longhouses prehistoricos durante un periodo de 800 anos. Los resultados proveen datos importantes sobre el desarrollo de la sistema iroquesa de residencia matrilocal y sobre variacion funcional y tribal associado con ello.

Lehman Gibson, a Canadian Iroquois in the Six Nations Indian Reserve in southern Ontario, Canada, has started cultivating 88 acres of reserve land. He feels that all farmers need to modernize and commit themselves to agriculture. Gibson, who intends to start a laboratory for studying the local herbal medicines, uses 2,000 tons of horse and cow dung to cultivate his land. He has grown beans, onions, corn, strawberries, raspberry, blackberry, potatoes and other vegetables in his experimental farm.

Village des Hurons is a village located in the Loretteville section of Quebec City, Quebec. The community was formed by survivors of the 1649 uprising in Huronia, Ontario, and now appears to be completely assimilated into Quebecois culture.
