Abstract Background Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) is a significant public health concern, yet there is no internationally agreed set of diagnostic criteria or summary of underlying evidence to inform diagnostic decision-making. This systematic review assesses associations of prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE) and outcomes of diagnostic assessments, providing an evidence base for the improvement of FASD diagnostic criteria. Methods Six databases were searched (inception–February 2023). Abstract Background Student-led clinics can provide low-cost speciality care and practical interprofessional education (IPE) opportunities. In Australia, there are currently limited speciality services available that provide neurodevelopmental assessments that consider fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) as one possible outcome. The aim of the current study was to understand student experiences in a novel interprofessional student-led clinic for children and adolescents with suspected or confirmed prenatal alcohol exposure. Method Seventeen allied health university students (11 occupational therapy; 6 psychology) participated in individual semi-structured interviews following completion of a 10-week clinic placement. Reflexive thematic analysis was undertaken using NVivo12. Results Four main themes were generated: (1) Interprofessional practice a key for students’ development as future healthcare professionals; (2) Meaningful relationships and students’ belief they made a difference; (3) Novel challenges tested students’ capabilities on placement; and (4) Supervisor attitude and approach to learning supported student development. Conclusions The current study demonstrated that the interprofessional student-led neurodevelopmental clinic provided a valuable IPE opportunity for students.

Abstract Background Preoperative frailty is associated with increased risk of adverse outcomes. In 2017, McIsaac and colleagues’ systematic review found that few interventions improved outcomes in this population and evidence was low-quality. We aimed to systematically review the evidence for multicomponent perioperative interventions in frail patients that has emerged since McIsaac et al.’s review. Methods PUBMED, EMBASE, Cochrane, and CINAHL databases were searched for English-language studies published since January 1, 2016, that evaluated multicomponent perioperative interventions in patients identified as frail. Quality was assessed using the National Institute of Health Quality Assessment Tool. A narrative synthesis of the extracted data was conducted. Results Of 2835 articles screened, five studies were included, all of which were conducted in elective oncologic gastrointestinal surgical populations. Four hundred and thirteen patients were included across the five studies and the mean/median age ranged from 70.1 to 87.0 years. Multicomponent interventions were all applied in the preoperative period. Two studies also applied interventions postoperatively. All interventions addressed exercise and nutritional domains with variability in timing, delivery, and adherence. Multicomponent interventions were associated with reduced postoperative complications, functional deterioration, length of stay, and mortality. Four studies reported on patient-centred outcomes. The quality of evidence was fair. Conclusions This systematic review provides evidence that frail surgical patients undergoing elective oncologic gastrointestinal surgery may benefit from targeted multicomponent perioperative interventions. Yet methodological issues and substantial heterogeneity of the interventions precludes drawing clear conclusions regarding the optimal model of care. Larger, low risk of bias studies are needed to evaluate optimal intervention delivery, effectiveness in other populations, implementation in health care settings and ascertain outcomes of importance for frail patients and their carers.

Background Regular blood tests for monitoring metabolic side effects are often unable to be collected for people with an intellectual/developmental disability (ID/DD) and challenging behaviours (CBs) using usual pathways. We aimed to develop a model of care to facilitate venipuncture for children and young adults with ID/DD and CBs.Methods A systematic tiered model of care was developed for venipuncture to suit the individual needs of children and young adults with ID/DD and CBs. A partnership was formed by the disability health team with a community pathology service provider. An observational retrospective study of the baseline demographic data, severity of disability and diagnosis, oral sedation requirement, and outcome data on the success/failure of venipuncture was done.Results 14 children (mean (SD), 12.8 (3.1) years) had 17 attempted venipuncture with ‘reasonable adjustments’ such as preparation with social stories, distraction, low sensory strategies and oral sedation at school clinics. 14 (82%) attempts were successful. After the success of the pilot programme at school, venipuncture was replicated in settings such as home, day programmes, pathology centres and a respite facility. 16 people with ID/DD and CBs (mean (SD)17.3 (3.7) years), had 14 successful venipuncture performed out of 18 attempts (success rate, 77.7%). Overall, 11 attempts (31.4%) succeeded without requiring oral sedation using only reasonable adjustments. 16 attempts (45.7%) succeeded with conscious oral sedation along with reasonable adjustments. Of those 16, 10 required olanzapine (5 mg), 1 required olanzapine (10 mg), 1 required combination of risperidone (1 mg) and diazepam (5 mg), 1 required clonazepam (2.5 mg) and olanzapine (5 mg), 1 required combination of olanzapine (10 mg) and diazepam (10 mg), 1 required combination of olanzapine (10 mg) and diazepam (5 mg) while 1 required only diazepam (5 mg). One had to be switched to the tier-3 pathway.Conclusion A model of care was developed to ensure compassionate and non-stressful venipuncture for children and young adults with disabilities. We demonstrated that a significant proportion of carefully selected children and young adults with ID/DD and CBs, considered ‘challenging for blood collection’ can have venipuncture performed successfully in non-hospital settings using ‘reasonable adjustments’ and oral sedation.

Introduction: Residential aged care facility (RACF) residents are highly vulnerable to severe infection and death from COVID-19. During the pandemic, telehealth (telephone and video) provided a mechanism to deliver for health care and social support. We examined logistical factors associated with telehealth, reasons for its use and barriers associated with the choice of telehealth. Methods: A mixed method exploratory study. Quantitative data were analysed using descriptive statistics. Qualitative data were analysed using a hybrid framework approach; deductive analysis followed by inductive analysis for sub-themes. Results: Participants (n=19) reported an increase in telehealth use during COVID-19. Organisations bought new equipment, predominately tablets; half had internet connectivity difficulties; nurses used personal devices to overcome connectivity issues or inadequate devices and 74% used three or more platforms/software. Few residents had personal digital devices or could connect with family and friends alone. Five key sub-themes emerged from qualitative data. 1. Needing and persisting with telehealth. RACFs had limited video telehealth use before COVID-19. 2. Being dependent on health providers offering telehealth services. Telehealth was used for a broad range of services. However, many health providers did not offer telehealth consultations. 3 Residents living with dementia. Telehealth was suitable for residents with dementia, depending on the disease stage and clinical need. 4. Challenges with implementing telehealth consultations. Most challenges pertained to workflows. 5. Suitability of videoconferencing for social connection. Staff supported residents with video calls which were highly valued. Conclusion: To capitalise on and sustain telehealth activity in RACFs, further guidance and support to overcome operational barriers are required.

Abstract Background Frailty is prevalent in older people with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and robust evidence supporting the benefit of dialysis in this setting is lacking. We aimed to measure frailty and quality of life (QOL) longitudinally in older people with advanced CKD and assess the impact of dialysis initiation on frailty, QOL and mortality. Methods Outpatients aged ≥65 with an eGFR ≤ 20ml/minute/1.73m2 were enrolled in a prospective observational study and followed up four years later. Frailty status was measured using a Frailty Index (FI), and QOL was evaluated using the EuroQol 5D-5L instrument. Mortality and dialysis status were determined through inspection of electronic records. Results Ninety-eight participants were enrolled. Between enrolment and follow-up, 36% of participants commenced dialysis and 59% died. Frailty prevalence increased from 47% at baseline to 86% at follow-up (change in median FI = 0.22, p

Abstract Objective: It is unknown whether the nutritional quality of children’s menus varies depending on the cuisine type. This study aimed to investigate differences in the nutritional quality of children’s menus by cuisine type in restaurants located in Perth, Western Australia (WA). Design: Cross-sectional study Setting: Perth, WA. Participants: Children’s menus (n 139) from the five most prevalent restaurant cuisine types in Perth (i.e. Chinese, Modern Australian, Italian, Indian and Japanese) were assessed using the Children’s Menu Assessment Tool (CMAT; range -5–21 with lower scores denoting lower nutritional quality) and the Food Traffic Light system, evaluated against Healthy Options WA Food and Nutrition Policy recommendations. Non-parametric ANOVA was used to test for a significant difference in total CMAT scores among cuisine types. Results: Total CMAT scores were low for all cuisine types (range -2–5), with a significant difference between cuisine types (Kruskal–Wallis H = 58·8, P < 0·001). The highest total CMAT score by cuisine type was Modern Australian (mean = 2·27, sd = 1·41) followed by Italian (mean = 2·02, sd = 1·02), Japanese (mean = 1·80, sd = 2·39), Indian (mean = 0·30, sd = 0·97) and Chinese (mean = 0·07, sd = 0·83). When using the Food Traffic Light for assessment, Japanese cuisine had the highest percentage of green food items (44 %), followed by Italian (42 %), Modern Australian (38 %), Indian (17 %) and Chinese (14 %). Conclusions: Overall, the nutritional quality of children’s menus was poor regardless of cuisine type. However, children’s menus from Japanese, Italian and Modern Australian restaurants scored better in terms of nutritional quality than children’s menus from Chinese and Indian restaurants.

Abstract Aims The frailty index (FI) is one way in which frailty can be quantified. While it is measured as a continuous variable, various cut-off points have been used to categorise older adults as frail or non-frail, and these have largely been validated in the acute care or community settings for older adults without cancer. This review aimed to explore which FI categories have been applied to older adults with cancer and to determine why these categories were selected by study authors. Methods This scoping review searched Medline, EMBASE, Cochrane, CINAHL, and Web of Science databases for studies which measured and categorised an FI in adults with cancer. Of the 1994 screened, 41 were eligible for inclusion. Data including oncological setting, FI categories, and the references or rationale for categorisation were extracted and analysed. Results The FI score used to categorise participants as frail ranged from 0.06 to 0.35, with 0.35 being the most frequently used, followed by 0.25 and 0.20. The rationale for FI categories was provided in most studies but was not always relevant. Three of the included studies using an FI > 0.35 to define frailty were frequently referenced as the rationale for subsequent studies, however, the original rationale for this categorisation was unclear. Few studies sought to determine or validate optimum FI categorises in this population. Conclusion There is significant variability in how studies have categorised the FI in older adults with cancer. An FI ≥ 0.35 to categorise frailty was used most frequently, however an FI in this range has often represented at least moderate to severe frailty in other highly-cited studies. These findings contrast with a scoping review of highly-cited studies categorising FI in older adults without cancer, where an FI ≥ 0.25 was most common. Maintaining the FI as a continuous variable is likely to be beneficial until further validation studies determine optimum FI categories in this population. Differences in how the FI has been categorised, and indeed how older adults have been labelled as ‘frail’, limits our ability to synthesise results and to understand the impact of frailty in cancer care.

Introduction Few clinical trials have investigated physiotherapy interventions to treat hypoxaemia following abdominal surgery. The objective of this study is to determine the feasibility and safety of conducting a clinical trial of physiotherapist-led non-invasive ventilation (NIV).Methods and analysis This single-centre, 50-patient, parallel-group, assessor blinded, pilot feasibility randomised controlled trial with concealed allocation will enrol spontaneously ventilating adults with hypoxaemia within 72 hours of major abdominal surgery. Participants will receive either (1) usual care physiotherapy of a single education session (talk), daily walking of 10–15 min (walk) and four sessions of coached deep breathing and coughing (breathe) or (2) usual care physiotherapy plus four 30 min sessions of physiotherapist-led NIV delivered over 2 postoperative days. Primary feasibility and safety outcome measures are; number of eligible patients recruited per week, total time of NIV treatment delivered, acceptability of treatments to patients and clinicians and incidence of adverse events. Secondary feasibility outcomes include measures of recruitment and treatment adherence. Exploratory outcome measures include change in respiratory parameters, postoperative pulmonary complications, length of hospital stay, health-related quality of life, postoperative activity levels and mortality.Ethics and dissemination Ethics approval has been obtained from the relevant institution. Objective: To identify the training needs of front-line aged care staff as perceived by senior clinicians and managers at selected residential aged care facilities (RACFs). Methods: A qualitative explorative designed study using semi-structured interviews with a convenience sample of RACF senior managers and nurses. A hybrid analysis approach using a framework deductive analysis followed by inductive analysis for sub-themes. Results: Four sub-themes emerged to sustain increased telehealth activity: technology knowledge and digital literacy skills, including understanding telehealth ecosystems and technical skills; evidence-based reviews and clinical frameworks for telehealth consultations to identify appropriate consultations and successful use cases; telehealth best practice guidelines and workflows including telehealth consultations protocols, communicating by videoconferencing, how to support families in attending telehealth consultations and optimal training models; and telehealth policy and legal guidance. Conclusion: Staff require comprehensive training to sustain and expand telehealth use in RACFs. Training should focus on knowledge, skills and competencies in using telehealth as well as the broad factors of policies and understanding ICT systems to support staffs’ abilities and confidence. Innovation: This study provides innovative findings that identify key components and associated activities and resources for training RACF staff to ensure they have sufficient knowledge, competency, skills and confidence to integrate telehealth into care provision.

Abstract Frailty is one of the biggest challenges to healthy ageing, and yet our understanding and management of frailty is in its infancy. In this editorial we outline challenges, innovations and future directions in frailty research in primary care, and invite contributions to BMC Primary Care’s “Frailty in Primary Care” Collection.

Background. Clinical Practice Guidelines suggest that frailty be measured during kidney transplant eligibility assessments. Yet it is not known how frailty is best assessed in this setting or whether its assessment is acceptable to patients. We aimed to examine the construct validity and feasibility of Frailty Index (FI) assessment among patients attending a kidney transplant assessment clinic and to explore patients’ perspectives on frailty and the acceptability of its routine assessment. Methods. A 58-item FI was calculated for 147 clinic patients. Semistructured interviews were conducted with a subgroup of 29 patients. The FI was validated against normative FI characteristics (mean, distribution, limit), age, and the Estimated Post-Transplant Survival Score. Feasibility was assessed using descriptive statistics. Qualitative data were analyzed using reflexive thematic analysis. Results. The mean FI was 0.23 (±0.10, normal distribution, limit 0.53). FI increased with age and Estimated Post-Transplant Survival score. The FI was completed for 62.8% of eligible patients (147/234). The median completion time was 10 min, and completion rate (with no missing data) was 100%. Four themes were identified: perceptions of frailty, acceptability, perceived benefits, and risks of frailty measurement. Patients linked frailty with age and adverse outcomes, and most did not consider themselves frail. Patients reported that the FI was quick, simple, and efficient. They felt that frailty assessment is relevant to transplant eligibility and should be used to address potentially reversible factors. Conclusions. The FI demonstrated construct validity and was feasible and acceptable in this clinic setting. The challenge is ensuring that routine assessments lead to better care.

Abstract Background There is currently no consensus as to a standardized tool for frailty measurement in any patient population. In the solid-organ transplantation population, routinely identifying and quantifying frailty in potential transplant candidates would support patients and the multidisciplinary team to make well-informed, individualized, management decisions. The aim of this scoping review was to synthesise the literature regarding frailty measurement in solid-organ transplant (SOT) candidates. Methods A search of four databases (Cochrane, Pubmed, EMBASE and CINAHL) yielded 3124 studies. 101 studies (including heart, kidney, liver, and lung transplant candidate populations) met the inclusion criteria. Results We found that studies used a wide range of frailty tools (N = 22), including four ‘established’ frailty tools. The most commonly used tools were the Fried Frailty Phenotype and the Liver Frailty Index. Frailty prevalence estimates for this middle-aged, predominantly male, population varied between 2.7% and 100%. In the SOT candidate population, frailty was found to be associated with a range of adverse outcomes, with most evidence for increased mortality (including post-transplant and wait-list mortality), post-operative complications and prolonged hospitalisation. There is currently insufficient data to compare the predictive validity of frailty tools in the SOT population. Conclusion Overall, there is great variability in the approach to frailty measurement in this population. Preferably, a validated frailty measurement tool would be incorporated into SOT eligibility assessments internationally with a view to facilitating comparisons between patient sub-groups and national and international transplant services with the ultimate goal of improved patient care.

Introduction Australian practices for diagnosing fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) are lengthy and require specialist expertise. Specialist teams are based in urban locations; they are expensive and have prolonged waitlists. Innovative, flexible solutions are needed to ensure First Nations children living in rural/remote communities have culturally appropriate and equitable access to timely diagnosis and support. This study compares the accuracy of rapid assessments (index tests) that can be administered by a range of primary healthcare practitioners to specialist standardised FASD assessments (reference tests). The cost-efficiency of index tests will be compared with reference tests.Methods and analysis At least 200 children aged 6–16 years at-risk of FASD will be recruited across at least seven study sites. Following standards for reporting diagnostic accuracy study (STARD) guidelines, all children will complete index and reference tests. Diagnostic accuracy statistics (including receiver operating curves, sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values and likelihood ratios) will identify whether rapid assessments can accurately identify: (1) the presence of an FASD diagnosis and (2) impairment in each neurodevelopmental domain, compared to comprehensive assessments. Direct and indirect healthcare costs for index tests compared to reference tests will be collected in primary healthcare and specialist settings.Ethics and dissemination of results Children’s Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC/20/QCHQ/63173); Griffith University Human Research Ethics Committee (2020/743). Results will assist in validating the use of index tests as part of a tiered neurodevelopmental assessment process that was co-designed with First Nations community and primary healthcare practitioners. Outcomes will be summarised and provided to participating practitioners and sites, and disseminated to community health services and consumers. Findings will be presented at national and international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals.Trial registration number ACTRN12622000498796.

Abstract The Timed Up and Go (TUG) is a global measure of mobility and has the ability to detect frail individuals. Frail patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are usually undiagnosed. We hypothesised that the TUG would identify frail patients with COPD. Frailty was assessed in 520 patients diagnosed with COPD and 150 controls using a Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment questionnaire and frailty index (FI) was derived. The TUG was used to assess physical mobility. All participants were assessed for lung function and body composition. A ROC curve was used to identify how well TUG discriminates between frail and non-frail patients with COPD. The patients with COPD and controls were similar in age, sex and BMI but the patients with COPD were more frail, mean ± SD FI 0.16 ± 0.08 than controls 0.05 ± 0.03, P

Introduction Individuals with severe mental illness are at risk of becoming prematurely frail. There is a critical unmet need for an intervention that reduces the risk of frailty and minimises the associated negative outcomes in this population. This study aims to provide novel evidence on the feasibility, acceptability and preliminary effectiveness of Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) to improve health outcomes among people with co-occurring frailty and severe mental illness.Methods and analysis Twenty-five participants with frailty and severe mental illness, aged 18–64 years, will be recruited from Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Service outpatient clinics and provided with the CGA. Primary outcome measures will include the feasibility and acceptability of the CGA embedded in routine healthcare. Other variables of interest will include frailty status, quality of life, polypharmacy, and a range of mental and physical health factors.Ethics and dissemination All procedures involving human subjects/patients were approved by Metro South Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC/2022/QMS/82272). Study findings will be disseminated through peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.

Abstract Background Healthy Living after Cancer (HLaC) was a national dissemination and implementation study of an evidence-based lifestyle intervention for cancer survivors. The program was imbedded into existing telephone cancer information and support services delivered by Australian state-based Cancer Councils (CC). We report here the reach, effectiveness, adoption, implementation, and maintenance of the program. Methods In this phase IV study (single-group, pre-post design) participants - survivors of any type of cancer, following treatment with curative intent - received up to 12 nurse/allied health professional-led telephone health coaching calls over 6 months. Intervention delivery was grounded in motivational interviewing, with emphasis on evidence-based behaviour change strategies. Using the RE-AIM evaluation framework, primary outcomes were reach, indicators of program adoption, implementation, costs and maintenance. Secondary (effectiveness) outcomes were participant-reported anthropometric, behavioural and psychosocial variables including: weight; physical activity; dietary intake; quality-of-life; treatment side-effects; distress; and fear of cancer recurrence and participant satisfaction. Changes were evaluated using linear mixed models, including terms for timepoint (0/6 months), strata (Cancer Council), and timepoint x strata. Results Four of 5 CCs approached participated in the study. In total, 1183 cancer survivors were referred (mostly via calls to the Cancer Council telephone information service). Of these, 90.4% were eligible and 88.7% (n = 791) of those eligible consented to participate. Retention rate was 63.4%. Participants were mostly female (88%), aged 57 years and were overweight (BMI = 28.8 ± 6.5 kg/m2). Background: : Frailty is prevalent in older adults with lung cancer, however the impact of frailty in this population is not well understood. The aim of this review was to evaluate the outcomes that are measured in frail older adults with lung cancer, and to determine the associations between frailty and these outcomes. Methods: : A systematic online search of PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane databases was conducted to identify all English-language studies between January 2015 and May 2022 prospectively evaluating frailty and outcomes in older adults (median age > 65 years) with lung cancer. Studies were excluded if frailty was defined by a single domain assessment or not clearly defined. Quality was assessed using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. Results: : Of 1891 studies screened, 16 met inclusion criteria. The median number of patients was 96 (range 26–494) and the mean age was 76.6 years. Eight different frailty assessments were used, and frailty definitions varied widely. The most frequently assessed outcomes were overall survival (n = 13,81%), treatment-related toxicity (n = 8,50%), hospitalisation (n = 5,31%), and treatment completion/discontinuation (n = 4,25%). Quality of life (n = 3,19%), function (n = 1,6%), frailty trajectory (n = 1,6%), and emergency visits (n = 1,6%) were infrequently assessed.Frailty had a strong and consistent association with mortality (Hazard Ratio range: 3.5–11.91). It was also associated with treatment-related toxicity and treatment selection. The remaining outcomes were not statistically significant. Conclusion: : These data support frailty as an important predictor of mortality in older adults with lung cancer, however further research is warranted to determine the association between frailty and other meaningful endpoints for this vulnerable population.

Introduction The perinatal–postnatal family environment is associated with childhood outcomes including impacts on physical and mental health and educational attainment. Family longitudinal cohort studies collect in-depth data that can capture the influence of an era on family lifestyle, mental health, chronic disease, education and financial stability to enable identification of gaps in society and provide the evidence for changes in government in policy and practice.Methods and analysis The Queensland Family Cohort (QFC) is a prospective, observational, longitudinal study that will recruit 12 500 pregnant families across the state of Queensland (QLD), Australia and intends to follow-up families and children for three decades. To identify the immediate and future health requirements of the QLD population; pregnant participants and their partners will be enrolled by 24 weeks of gestation and followed up at 24, 28 and 36 weeks of gestation, during delivery, on-ward, 6 weeks postpartum and then every 12 months where questionnaires, biological samples and physical measures will be collected from parents and children. To examine the impact of environmental exposures on families, data related to environmental pollution, household pollution and employment exposures will be linked to pregnancy and health outcomes. Where feasible, data linkage of state and federal government databases will be used to follow the participants long term. Biological samples will be stored long term for future discoveries of biomarkers of health and disease.Ethics and dissemination Ethical approval has been obtained from the Mater Research Ethics (HREC/16/MHS/113). Findings will be reported to (1) QFC participating families; (2) funding bodies, institutes and hospitals supporting the QFC; (3) federal, state and local governments to inform policy; (4) presented at local, national and international conferences and (5) disseminated by peer-review publications.

Abstract Background Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) is a highly prevalent neurodevelopmental disorder associated with prenatal alcohol exposure. Early identification can improve functioning for individuals and reduce costs to society. Gold standard methods of diagnosing FASD rely on specialists to deliver intensive, multidisciplinary assessments. While comprehensive, prevalence rates highlight that this assessment model cannot meet demand, nor is it feasible in remote areas where specialist services are lacking. This project aims to expand the capabilities of remote practitioners in north Queensland, Australia, where 23–94% of the community identify as First Nations people. Integrating cultural protocols with the implementation science theories of Knowledge-To-Action, Experience-Based Co-Design, and RE-AIM, remote practitioners with varying levels of experience will be trained in a co-designed, culturally appropriate, tiered neurodevelopmental assessment process that considers FASD as a potential outcome. This innovative assessment process can be shared between primary and tertiary health care settings, improving access to services for children and families. This project aims to demonstrate that neurodevelopmental assessments can be integrated seamlessly with established community practices and sustained through evidence-based workforce development strategies. Methods The Yapatjarrathati project (named by the local First Nations community and meaning ‘to get well’) is a mixed-method implementation trial of a tiered assessment process for identifying FASD within a remote Australian community. In collaboration with the community, we co-designed: (a) a culturally sensitive, tiered, neurodevelopmental assessment process for identifying FASD, and (b) training materials that up-skill remote practitioners with varying levels of expertise. Qualitative interviews for primary, secondary and end users will be undertaken to evaluate the implementation strategies. RE-AIM will be used to evaluate the reach, effectiveness, adoption, implementation and maintenance of the assessment and training process. Discussion Co-designed with the local community, integrated with cultural protocols, and based on implementation science theories, the assessment and training process from this project will have the potential to be scaled-up across other remote locations and trialed in urban settings. The Yapatjarrathati project is an important step towards increasing the availability of neurodevelopmental services across Australia and empowering remote practitioners to contribute to the FASD assessment process.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the cross-sectional associations of monitor-derived measures of sedentary time and physical activity with performance-based physical function in healthy Australian adults.
