La gastritis es una inflamación aguda o crónica de la mucosa gástrica, que se ha relacionado con infección con Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), el sobre uso de antiinflamatorios no esteroideos, drogas, alcohol, tabaco, entre otros, llegando a producir síntomas como dolor localizado en el epigastrio o dispepsia, que largo plazo y en compañía de hábitos de vida no saludable, hay mayor riesgo de desarrollar cáncer gástrico. Por lo tanto, el objetivo general de este artículo fue desarrollar un prototipo de alimento funcional con ingredientes asociados a la disminución de los síntomas de la gastritis en adultos; Métodos: proyecto de innovación de prototipo de alimento que se basó en validación de información científica sobre alimentos funcionales relacionados con disminución de síntomas de la gastritis. El prototipo fue validado mediante pruebas sensoriales a panel experto y consumidor y desarrollo del modelo CANVAS; Resultados: se utilizaron Aloe Vera y Caléndula como ingredientes funcionales incluidos en dos bebidas de sabores fresa-mora y mango, encontrando que la primera tuvo una mayor aceptación y calidad sensorial tanto con panel experto como consumidor; Conclusiones: se obtuvo un prototipo de alimento con características sensoriales aceptadas, con los ingredientes funcionales caléndula y Aloe Vera que han sido relacionados en el público en general y por la evidencia científica para el manejo de los síntomas de la gastritis.

International audience; Oxylipins are considered biomarkers related to cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). They are generated in vivo via the oxygenation of polyunsaturated fatty acids as a result of oxidative stress and inflammation. Oxylipins are involved in vascular functions and are produced during foam cell formation in atherogenesis. Additionally, the consumption coffee is associated with the regulation on a particular oxylipin group, the F2t-isoprostanes (F2t-IsoPs). This function has been attributed to the chlorogenic acids (CGAs) from the coffee beverage. Considering the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of CGAs, we evaluated the effects of two types of coffee that provided 787 mg CGAs/day (Coffee A) and 407 mg CGAs/day (Coffee B) by reducing 35 selected oxylipins in healthy subjects. Furthermore, we assessed the effect of CGAs on the cellular proatherogenic response in foam cells by using an oxidized LDL (oxLDL)-macrophage interaction model. After eight weeks of coffee consumption, the contents of 12 urine oxylipins were reduced. However, the effect of Coffee A showed a stronger decrease in IsoPs, dihomo-IsoPs, prostaglandins (PGs) and PG metabolites, probably due to its higher content of CGAs. Neither of the two coffees reduced the levels of oxLDL. Moreover, the in vitro oxylipin induction by oxLDL on foam cells was ameliorated by phenolic acids and CGAs, including the inhibition of IsoPs and PGs by caffeoylquinic and dicaffeoylquinic acids, respectively, while the phenolic acids maintained both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. These findings suggest that coffee antioxidants are strong regulators of oxylipins related to CVDs. Objetivo: evaluar a corto plazo el efecto de un programa integral de prevención cardiovascular guiado por el riesgo de aterosclerosis sobre la edad vascular y factores de riesgo mayores. Métodos: estudio de intervención cuasi-experimental que incluyó 190 pacientes con múltiples comorbilidades y dos o más factores de riesgo cardiovascular, entre 2013 y 2015. Los casos analizados (n = 177) presentaban múltiples factores de riesgo o síndrome metabólico, razón por la cual recibieron un programa integral de tratamiento guiado por una estratificación clínica de aterosclerosis. Se hizo un seguimiento durante tres meses y se compararon: presión arterial, perfil lipídico, HbA1c, medidas antropométricas, riesgo cardiovascular global a 10 años y edad vascular, antes y después de la intervención. Enteropericardial fistulae constitute a condition with a very low prevalence and a high morbidity and mortality rate. In this case report, we discuss an 80-year-old male patient who presented to emergency services for massive rectal bleeding and signs of hypovolemic shock. Abdominal arteriography and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy were negative for bleeding. Findings indicative of fistula between the left ventricle and the transverse colon were described in computed tomography angiogram and the diagnosis was confirmed endoscopically. The patient was stabilized and the bleeding was self-limited. Direct communication between the gastrointestinal tract and the pericardium, or even with the heart itself, is a rare disease and constitutes a diagnostic challenge.

It has been demonstrated that physical exercise, carried out at diverse intensities, modulates the function of different human body systems, and that it plays a major role in the immune response. Therefore, it is necessary to find out if these changes have benefic or harmful effects on the host adaptation against several pathogenic agents. The study of these physical-stress-induced changes might have a great impact on the comprehension and prevention of some diseases that involve activation of the immune system such as allergies, infections, immunodeficiencies and cancer. This article presents a review of current information concerning this area, with the purpose of providing concepts to help readers understand this biological phenomena and their implications in human health. Several immune response parameters have been studied during physical exercise, including their relationship with the stress-induced hormonal response and the profile of different hormones according to the intensity of physical activity. Also, changes in blood cell populations (lymphocytes, monocytes and neutrophils) and the behavior of cytokines and the synthesis of specific immune globulins have been assessed. This knowledge has allowed to establish a relationship between the immune and neuroendocrine systems, which might explain the various changes in the immune response and the adaptation seen in physical activity, as well as the differences found at diverse exercise intensity and frequency levels. Se ha demostrado que el ejercicio hecho a diferentes intensidades cumple una función moduladora sobre diversos sistemas, y que su acción sobre la respuesta inmune es de gran importancia. Por lo tanto, es necesario esclarecer si estos cambios constituyen efectos benéficos o perjudiciales en cuanto a las adaptaciones del hospedero frente a diversos agentes patógenos. El estudio de estos cambios inducidos por el estrés físico puede tener un impacto grande en la comprensión y prevención de algunas enfermedades que involucran la respuesta del sistema inmune como las alergias, las infecciones, las inmunodeficiencias y el cáncer.
