The blood disorder was a severe thrombocytopenia, with no spontaneous remission, or improvement after steroids tapering. To date, this is the second report in literature of immune thrombocytopenia associated with an ovarian teratoma, completely resolving following surgical excision of the ovarian teratoma. This case may suggest a potential peptide secreted by the ovarian teratoma toxic to platelets, and or a genetic predisposition in patients displaying the syndrome. The study aimed to measure Economic Efficiency and its components, Technical Efficiency and Allocative Efficiency on the input side, and to impose a change in returns to scale VRS by using the DEA method of data envelope analysis, as well as to review the structure and items of costs for tomato production, and knowing The extent to which economic units achieve a rational use of production resources. the data necessary to study in the field were collected through a questionnaire carried out in a personal interview of (124) farmers of the tomato crop in the open cultivation method in Nineveh Governorate (Zammar district as an application model) for the production season 2019, Included explanatory variables (seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, mechanical work, human work) As for The approved variable is tomato crop production, and the study reached many conclusions, the most important, That three farms (2.4%) achieved complete technical, allocation , economic efficiency (100%), and the results of showed that the average economic efficiency reached about (50.8%), meaning that these farms can achieve the same level Of production in light of reducing production costs by 49.2%, and the study recommended that farmers use resources Economic needs according to the crop’s need for these resources and in a way that minimizes costs and maximizes profit, and it is necessary to study the reasons for the success of many farms that have achieved complete Economic Efficiency (100 %), To be references to farms that have not achieved Economic Efficiency Although it in the same circumstances. Abstract

Purpose: Transvaginal surgery has been performed by gynecologists for decades with abundant literature supporting its efficacy and safety. Recently, several groups reported on the NOTES transvaginal (TV) approach for extrapelvic disease. Nevertheless, repeated TV access for NOTES has never been reported to date. Two cases of "repeated" TV access for NOTES cholecystectomy after TV hybrid sleeve gastrectomy are described. Methods: Two women, aged 57 and 32 years, developed symptomatic cholelithiasis respectively 6 and 8 months after TV sleeve gastrectomy for morbid obesity. Sleeve gastrectomy: a 2-cm posterior colpotomy was performed under laparoscopic control between the uterosacral ligaments. A double-channel endoscope and a 60-cm-long laparoscopic grasper were introduced transvaginally. Two abdominal ports were placed to allow the introduction of the stapling device and to assist during the procedure. An intragastric endoscope served to expose the stomach and to calibrate the gastric sleeve, which was performed in the standard fashion. Colpotomy was closed by separate 3/0 Vicryl stitches. At cholecystectomy, an exploratory laparoscopy ascertained the feasibility of a NOTES cholecystectomy. The posterior vaginal vault was carefully examined before regaining peritoneal access with the technique described above. Cholecystectomy was performed by using a double-channel endoscope introduced TV and a 5-mm transabdominal port. Follow-up consisted of 3 and 6 months pelvic examination and interview, which included sexual function assessment by sexual function questionnaire (SFQ31). Results: Both operations were performed successfully with no intraoperative or postoperative complications. At cholecystectomy, minimal pelvic adhesions were found with no vaginal scarring at the colpotomy site. No bleeding, pain, or vaginal infection occurred after both procedures. Patients resumed sexual activity 5.2 weeks postoperatively with a consistently normal SFQ31. Conclusions: This report suggests that, in experienced hands, repeated TV access for extrapelvic surgery is possible and safe, putting forward the intriguing promises of less adhesions formation.

Abstract

A simple feldspathic glaze which matures at 1280°C and which contains iron as a colouring agent was examined by 57Fe Mossbauer spectroscopy. When fired in air, oxidation of the iron (added as iron(II) oxalate) was complete and the iron(III) occupied a distorted octahedral site. By contrast a soda-lime-silica glass, fired under the same conditions, showed two iron sites, one octahedral [iron(III)], the other tetrahedral, although the oxidation state is uncertain. Firing under dinitrogen produced glazes containing iron(II) and iron(III); the iron was added as iron(II) oxalate or as a mixture of iron and Fe2O3. The chemical environment of the iron in the matured glaze was shown to be a function of the way in which the element is introduced into the raw batch, to the firing conditions, and may also be influenced by the replacement (gradual or complete) of CaCO3 with SrCO3 or BaCO3. Using this simple glaze, good reproduction of Chinese “mirror black” and celadon were achieved by firing under dinitrogen and manipulating the form in which iron was added. Preliminary studies of iron-vanadium glazes are reported. Vanadium(IV), or VO2+, was identified in the matured feldspathic glaze by ESR. The addition of iron (as metal) produced glazes, the ESR spectra of which were dominated by contributions from iron(III). The Mossbauer spectrum of a glaze containing 6% iron confirmed the presence of iron(III) but also revealed the presence of another iron site. The data are discussed in terms of an “FeO2+” species.
