Three-dimensional atomic force microscopy (3D-AFM) has been a powerful tool to probe the atomic-scale structure of solid-liquid interfaces. As a nanoprobe moves along the 3D volume of interfacial liquid, the probe-sample interaction force is sensed and mapped, providing information on not only the solid morphology, but also the liquid density distribution. To date 3D-AFM force maps of a diverse set of solid-liquid interfaces have been recorded, revealing remarkable force oscillations that are typically attributed to solvation layers or electrical double layers. However, despite the high resolution down to sub-angstrom level, quantitative interpretation of the 3D force maps has been an outstanding challenge. Here we will review the technical details of 3D-AFM and the existing approaches for quantitative data interpretation. Based on evidences in recent literature, we conclude that the perturbation-induced AFM force paradoxically represents the intrinsic, unperturbed liquid density profile. We will further discuss how the oscillatory force profiles can be attributed to the probe-modulation of the liquid configurational entropy, and how the quantitative, atomic-scale liquid density distribution can be derived from the force maps.

Skyrmions refer to small swirling spin structures that emerge in ferromagnetic materials and show promising features to be used as a `bit' of information in future spintronic devices. Our research explores the possibility of nucleating skyrmions in X-Fe/Ir(111) multilayer nano-structure where, X is one of the 4d transition metals, such as, Pd, Rh, Ru, Mo and Nb. The resulting final state is determined by the competition between the frustrated exchange interaction, primarily contributed by the top 4d transition metal layer, and the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interactions induced significantly by the 5d heavy metal Ir(111) layer. We apply a perpendicular dc magnetic field to the nano-structure and observe gradual phase transformation from the spin spiral ground state to a stable relaxed state of nano-scale skyrmions . A proper choice of magnetic anisotropy and interfacial Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction leads to a range of external magnetic fields essential for the existence and stability of skyrmions. By raising the temperature, we assess the thermal stability of the nucleated skyrmions to evaluate their potential as information carriers in future spintronic devices.

Cyber-physical system (CPS) security for the smart grid enables secure communication for the SCADA and wide-area measurement system data. Power utilities world-wide use various SCADA protocols, namely DNP3, Modbus, and IEC 61850, for the data exchanges across substation field devices, remote terminal units (RTUs), and control center applications. Adversaries may exploit compromised SCADA protocols for the reconnaissance, data exfiltration, vulnerability assessment, and injection of stealthy cyberattacks to affect power system operation. In this paper, we propose an efficient algorithm to generate robust rule sets. We integrate the rule sets into an intrusion detection system (IDS), which continuously monitors the DNP3 data traffic at a substation network and detects intrusions and anomalies in real-time. To enable CPS-aware wide-area situational awareness, we integrated the methodology into an open-source distributed-IDS (D-IDS) framework. The D-IDS facilitates central monitoring of the detected anomalies from the geographically distributed substations and to the control center. The proposed algorithm provides an optimal solution to detect network intrusions and abnormal behavior. Different types of IDS rules based on packet payload, packet flow, and time threshold are generated. Further, IDS testing and evaluation is performed with a set of rules in different sequences. The detection time is measured for different IDS rules, and the results are plotted. All the experiments are conducted at Power Cyber Lab, Iowa State University, for multiple power grid models. After successful testing and evaluation, knowledge and implementation are transferred to field deployment.

Federated Learning (FL) presents a paradigm shift towards distributed model training across isolated data repositories or edge devices without explicit data sharing. Despite of its advantages, FL is inherently less efficient than centralized training models, leading to increased energy consumption and, consequently, higher carbon emissions. In this paper, we propose CAMA, a carbon-aware FL framework, promoting the operation on renewable excess energy and spare computing capacity, aiming to minimize operational carbon emissions. CAMA introduces a dynamic model adaptation strategy which adapts the model sizes based on the availability of energy and computing resources. Ordered dropout is integratged to enable the aggregation with varying model sizes. Empirical evaluations on real-world energy and load traces demonstrate that our method achieves faster convergence and ensures equitable client participation, while scaling efficiently to handle large numbers of clients. Vision Transformers and U-Net architectures have been widely adopted in the implementation of Diffusion Models. However, each architecture presents specific challenges while realizing them on-device. Vision Transformers require positional embedding to maintain correspondence between the tokens processed by the transformer, although they offer the advantage of using fixed-size, reusable repetitive blocks following tokenization. The U-Net architecture lacks these attributes, as it utilizes variable-sized intermediate blocks for down-convolution and up-convolution in the noise estimation backbone for the diffusion process. To address these issues, we propose an architecture that utilizes a fixed-size, reusable transformer block as a core structure, making it more suitable for hardware implementation. Our architecture is characterized by low complexity, token-free design, absence of positional embeddings, uniformity, and scalability, making it highly suitable for deployment on mobile and resource-constrained devices. The proposed model exhibit competitive and consistent performance across both unconditional and conditional image generation tasks. In this paper, we introduce the first release of a large-scale dataset capturing discourse on $\mathbb{X}$ (a.k.a., Twitter) related to the upcoming 2024 U.S. Presidential Election. Our dataset comprises 22 million publicly available posts on X.com, collected from May 1, 2024, to July 31, 2024, using a custom-built scraper, which we describe in detail. By employing targeted keywords linked to key political figures, events, and emerging issues, we aligned data collection with the election cycle to capture evolving public sentiment and the dynamics of political engagement on social media. This dataset offers researchers a robust foundation to investigate critical questions about the influence of social media in shaping political discourse, the propagation of election-related narratives, and the spread of misinformation. We also present a preliminary analysis that highlights prominent hashtags and keywords within the dataset, offering initial insights into the dominant themes and conversations occurring in the lead-up to the election. Capturing the correct dynamics at the Coarse-Grained (CG) scale remains a central challenge in the advancement of systematic CG models for soft matter simulations. The Generalized Langevin Equation (GLE), rooted in the Mori-Zwanzig formalism, provides a robust framework for incorporating friction and stochastic forces into CG models, that are lost due to the reduction in degrees of freedom. Leveraging recent advancements in Automatic Differentiation (AD) and reformulating the non-Markovian GLE using a colored noise ansatz, we present a top-down approach for accurately parameterizing the non-Markovian GLE for different coarse-grained fluids that accurately reproduces the velocity-autocorrelation function of the original All-Atom (AA) model. We demonstrate our approach on two different fluids namely, SPC/E water and carbon dioxide which have distinct structure and dynamical characteristics. Importantly, by being end-to-end differentiable, this approach offers a simplified and efficient solution to achieving accurate CG dynamics, effectively bypassing the complexities inherent in most bottom-up methods.

In this paper we propose a novel method of augmenting parallel text corpora which promises good quality and is also capable of producing many fold larger corpora than the seed corpus we start with. We do not need any additional monolingual corpora. We use Multi-Lingual Masked Language Model to mask and predict alternative words in context and we use Sentence Embeddings to check and select sentence pairs which are likely to be translations of each other. We cross check our method using metrics for MT Quality Estimation. Accurate real-time tracking of dexterous hand movements and interactions has numerous applications in human-computer interaction, metaverse, robotics, and tele-health. Capturing realistic hand movements is challenging because of the large number of articulations and degrees of freedom. Here, we report accurate and dynamic tracking of articulated hand and finger movements using stretchable, washable smart gloves with embedded helical sensor yarns and inertial measurement units. The sensor yarns have a high dynamic range, responding to low 0.005 % to high 155 % strains, and show stability during extensive use and washing cycles. We use multi-stage machine learning to report average joint angle estimation root mean square errors of 1.21 and 1.45 degrees for intra- and inter-subjects cross-validation, respectively, matching accuracy of costly motion capture cameras without occlusion or field of view limitations. We report a data augmentation technique that enhances robustness to noise and variations of sensors. We demonstrate accurate tracking of dexterous hand movements during object interactions, opening new avenues of applications including accurate typing on a mock paper keyboard, recognition of complex dynamic and static gestures adapted from American Sign Language and object identification.

Deep learning-based methods have been widely researched in the areas of language and vision, demonstrating their capacity to understand long sequences of data and their usefulness in numerous helio-physics applications. Foundation models (FMs), which are pre-trained on a large-scale datasets, form the basis for a variety of downstream tasks. These models, especially those based on transformers in vision and language, show exceptional potential for adapting to a wide range of downstream applications. In this paper, we provide our perspective on the criteria for designing an FM for heliophysics and associated challenges and applications using the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) dataset. The heterogeneous distribution of frequency support from dispersed renewable generation sources results in varying inertia within the system. The effects of disturbances exhibit non-uniform variations contingent upon the disturbance's location and the affected region's topology and inertia. A screening method for inertia-zone identification is proposed considering the combination of network structure and generator inertia distribution that will aid in comprehending the response of nodes to disturbances. The nodes' dynamic nodal weight (DNW) is defined using maximal entropy random walk that defines each node's spreading power dynamics. Further, a modified weighted kmeans++ clustering technique is proposed using DNW to obtain the equivalent spatial points of each zone and the system to parameterize the inertia status of each zone. The impact of the proposed scheme is justified by simulating a modified IEEE 39 bus system with doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) integration in the real-time digital simulator.

Electrode-electrolyte interfaces are crucial for electrochemical energy conversion and storage. At these interfaces, the liquid electrolytes form electrical double layers (EDLs). However, despite more than a century of active research, the fundamental structure of EDLs remains elusive to date. Experimental characterization and theoretical calculations have both provided insights, yet each method by itself only offers incomplete or inexact information of the multifaceted EDL structure. Here we provide a survey of the mainstream approaches for EDL quantification, with a particular focus on the emerging 3D atomic force microscopy (3D-AFM) imaging which provides real-space atomic-scale EDL structures. To overcome the existing limits of EDL characterization methods, we propose a new approach to integrate 3D-AFM with classical molecular dynamics (MD) simulation, to enable realistic, precise, and high-throughput determination and prediction of EDL structures. As examples of real-world application, we will discuss the feasibility of using this joint experiment-theory method to unravel the EDL structure at various carbon-based electrodes for supercapacitors, batteries, and electrocatalysis. Looking forward, we believe 3D-AFM, future versions of scanning probe microscopy, and their integration with theory offer promising platforms to profile liquid structures in many electrochemical systems.

We present the detection and analysis of GRB 231115A, a candidate extragalactic magnetar giant flare (MGF) observed by Fermi/GBM and localized by INTEGRAL to the starburst galaxy M82. This burst exhibits distinctive temporal and spectral characteristics that align with known MGFs, including a short duration and a high peak energy. Gamma-ray analyses reveal significant insights into this burst, supporting conclusions already established in the literature: our time-resolved spectral studies provide further evidence that GRB 231115A is indeed a MGF. Significance calculations also suggest a robust association with M82, further supported by a high Bayes factor that minimizes the probability of chance alignment with a neutron star merger. Despite extensive follow-up efforts, no contemporaneous gravitational wave or radio emissions were detected. The lack of radio emission sets stringent upper limits on possible radio luminosity. Constraints from our analysis show no fast radio bursts (FRBs) associated with two MGFs. X-ray observations conducted post-burst by Swift/XRT and XMM/Newton provided additional data, though no persistent counterparts were identified. Our study underscores the importance of coordinated multi-wavelength follow-up and highlights the potential of MGFs to enhance our understanding of short GRBs and magnetar activities in the cosmos. Current MGF identification and follow-up implementation are insufficient for detecting expected counterparts; however, improvements in these areas may allow for the recovery of follow-up signals with existing instruments. Future advancements in observational technologies and methodologies will be crucial in furthering these studies.

A nontrivial connected graph is matching covered if each edge belongs to some perfect matching. There is extensive theory on these graphs; see Lucchesi and Murty [Perfect Matchings, Springer 2024]. Two edges are mutually dependent if every perfect matching either contains both or neither. This is an equivalence relation and induces a partition of the edges; each part is called an equivalence class. Note that $\frac{n}{2}$ is an upper bound on the size of any equivalence class. We characterize those graphs that attain this upper bound, thus fixing an error in [Discrete Mathematics, 343(8), 2020]. Sch\"onberger (1934) strengthened the famous result of Petersen by proving that every 2-connected cubic graph is matching covered. This immediately begs the question as to which 2-connected cubic graphs have the property that each edge belongs to two or more perfect matchings. An edge is solitary if it belongs to exactly one perfect matching. Note that if any member of an equivalence class is solitary then so is each member; such an equivalence class is called a solitary class. This leads us to the solitary pattern -- the sequence of sizes of solitary classes in nonincreasing order. For instance, $K_4$ has solitary pattern (2,2,2) whereas the Petersen graph has solitary pattern (). Using the theory of Lucchesi and Murty, we prove that every 3-connected cubic graph $G$ has one of the following solitary patterns: (2,2,2), (2,2,1), (2,2), (2,1,1), (2,1), (2), (1,1,1), (1,1), (1) or (); consequently, $G$ has at most six solitary edges. We also provide characterizations of 3-connected cubic graphs that have a given solitary pattern except for (1,1), (1) and (). Finally, we prove that every 2-connected cubic graph, except $\theta, K_4, \overline{C_6}$ and the bicorn, has at most $\frac{n}{2}$ solitary edges, and equality holds if and only if its solitary edges comprise a perfect matching.

As automated vehicles (AVs) become increasingly popular, the question arises as to how cyclists will interact with such vehicles. This study investigated (1) whether cyclists spontaneously notice if a vehicle is driverless, (2) how well they perform a driver-detection task when explicitly instructed, and (3) how they carry out these tasks. Using a Wizard-of-Oz method, 37 participants cycled a designated route and encountered an AV multiple times in two experimental sessions. In Session 1, participants cycled the route uninstructed, while in Session 2, they were instructed to verbally report whether they detected the presence or absence of a driver. Additionally, we recorded participants' gaze behaviour with eye-tracking and their responses in post-session interviews. The interviews revealed that 30% of the cyclists spontaneously mentioned the absence of a driver (Session 1), and when instructed (Session 2), they detected the absence and presence of the driver with 93% accuracy. The eye-tracking data showed that cyclists looked more frequently and for longer at the vehicle in Session 2 compared to Session 1. Additionally, participants exhibited intermittent sampling of the vehicle, and they looked at the area in front of the vehicle when it was far away and towards the windshield region when it was closer. The post-session interviews also indicated that participants were curious, but felt safe, and reported a need to receive information about the AV's driving state. In conclusion, cyclists can detect the absence of a driver in the AV, and this detection may influence their perception of safety. Further research is needed to explore these findings in real-world traffic conditions.

Regulatory compliance reporting in the pharmaceutical industry relies on detailed tables, but these are often under-utilized beyond compliance due to their unstructured format and arbitrary content. Extracting and semantically representing tabular data is challenging due to diverse table presentations. Large Language Models (LLMs) demonstrate substantial potential for semantic representation, yet they encounter challenges related to accuracy and context size limitations, which are crucial considerations for the industry applications. We introduce HySem, a pipeline that employs a novel context length optimization technique to generate accurate semantic JSON representations from HTML tables. This approach utilizes a custom fine-tuned model specifically designed for cost- and privacy-sensitive small and medium pharmaceutical enterprises. Running on commodity hardware and leveraging open-source models, HySem surpasses its peer open-source models in accuracy and provides competitive performance when benchmarked against OpenAI GPT-4o and effectively addresses context length limitations, which is a crucial factor for supporting larger tables., Comment: 19 pages, 7 tables, 10 figures, 2 algorithms

Effective fraud detection and analysis of government-issued identity documents, such as passports, driver's licenses, and identity cards, are essential in thwarting identity theft and bolstering security on online platforms. The training of accurate fraud detection and analysis tools depends on the availability of extensive identity document datasets. However, current publicly available benchmark datasets for identity document analysis, including MIDV-500, MIDV-2020, and FMIDV, fall short in several respects: they offer a limited number of samples, cover insufficient varieties of fraud patterns, and seldom include alterations in critical personal identifying fields like portrait images, limiting their utility in training models capable of detecting realistic frauds while preserving privacy. In response to these shortcomings, our research introduces a new benchmark dataset, IDNet, designed to advance privacy-preserving fraud detection efforts. The IDNet dataset comprises 837,060 images of synthetically generated identity documents, totaling approximately 490 gigabytes, categorized into 20 types from $10$ U.S. states and 10 European countries. We evaluate the utility and present use cases of the dataset, illustrating how it can aid in training privacy-preserving fraud detection methods, facilitating the generation of camera and video capturing of identity documents, and testing schema unification and other identity document management functionalities., Comment: 40 pages

Microservice architecture has transformed traditional monolithic applications into lightweight components. Scaling these lightweight microservices is more efficient than scaling servers. However, scaling microservices still faces the challenges resulted from the unexpected spikes or bursts of requests, which are difficult to detect and can degrade performance instantaneously. To address this challenge and ensure the performance of microservice-based applications, we propose a status-aware and elastic scaling framework called StatuScale, which is based on load status detector that can select appropriate elastic scaling strategies for differentiated resource scheduling in vertical scaling. Additionally, StatuScale employs a horizontal scaling controller that utilizes comprehensive evaluation and resource reduction to manage the number of replicas for each microservice. We also present a novel metric named correlation factor to evaluate the resource usage efficiency. Finally, we use Kubernetes, an open-source container orchestration and management platform, and realistic traces from Alibaba to validate our approach. The experimental results have demonstrated that the proposed framework can reduce the average response time in the Sock-Shop application by 8.59% to 12.34%, and in the Hotel-Reservation application by 7.30% to 11.97%, decrease service level objective violations, and offer better performance in resource usage compared to baselines., Comment: 26 pages

To address the increased latency, network load and compromised privacy issues associated with the Cloud-centric IoT applications, fog computing has emerged. Fog computing utilizes the proximal computational and storage devices, for sensor data analytics. The edge-fog-cloud continuum thus provides significant edge analytics capabilities for realizing interesting IoT applications. While edge analytics tasks are usually performed on a single node, distributed edge analytics proposes utilizing multiple nodes from the continuum, concurrently. This paper discusses and demonstrates distributed edge analytics from three different perspectives; serverless data pipelines (SDP), distributed computing and edge analytics, and federated learning, with our frameworks, MQTT based SDP, CANTO and FIDEL, respectively. The results produced in the paper, through different case studies, show the feasibility of performing distributed edge analytics following the three approaches, across the continuum.

We propose a new system for automatic 2D floorplan reconstruction that is enabled by SALVe, our novel pairwise learned alignment verifier. The inputs to our system are sparsely located 360$^\circ$ panoramas, whose semantic features (windows, doors, and openings) are inferred and used to hypothesize pairwise room adjacency or overlap. SALVe initializes a pose graph, which is subsequently optimized using GTSAM. Once the room poses are computed, room layouts are inferred using HorizonNet, and the floorplan is constructed by stitching the most confident layout boundaries. We validate our system qualitatively and quantitatively as well as through ablation studies, showing that it outperforms state-of-the-art SfM systems in completeness by over 200%, without sacrificing accuracy. Our results point to the significance of our work: poses of 81% of panoramas are localized in the first 2 connected components (CCs), and 89% in the first 3 CCs. GW230529 is the first compact binary coalescence detected by the LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA collaboration with at least one component mass confidently in the lower mass-gap, corresponding to the range 3-5$M_{\odot}$. If interpreted as a neutron star-black hole merger, this event has the most symmetric mass ratio detected so far and therefore has a relatively high probability of producing electromagnetic (EM) emission. However, no EM counterpart has been reported. At the merger time $t_0$, Swift-BAT and Fermi-GBM together covered 100$\%$ of the sky. Performing a targeted search in a time window $[t_0-20 \text{s},t_0+20 \text{s}]$, we report no detection by the Swift-BAT and the Fermi-GBM instruments. Combining the position-dependent $\gamma-$ray flux upper limits and the gravitational-wave posterior distribution of luminosity distance, sky localization and inclination angle of the binary, we derive constraints on the characteristic luminosity and structure of the jet possibly launched during the merger. Assuming a top-hat jet structure, we exclude at 90$\%$ credibility the presence of a jet which has at the same time an on-axis isotropic luminosity $\gtrsim 10^{48}$ erg s$^{-1}$, in the bolometric band 1 keV-10 MeV, and a jet opening angle $\gtrsim 15$ deg. Similar constraints are derived testing other assumptions about the jet structure profile. Layer-4 load balancer (LB) is a key building block of online services. In this paper, we empower such LBs to adapt to different and dynamic performance of backend instances (DIPs). Our system, KNAPSACKLB, is generic (can work with variety of LBs), does not require agents on DIPs, LBs or clients, and scales to large numbers of DIPs. KNAPSACKLB uses judicious active probes to learn a mapping from LB weights to the response latency of each DIP, and then applies Integer Linear Programming (ILP) to calculate LB weights that optimize latency, using an iterative method to scale the computation to large numbers of DIPs. Using testbed experiments and simulations, we show that KNAPSACKLB load balances traffic as per the performance and cuts average latency by up to 45% compared to existing designs.

Sequence modeling is a crucial area across various domains, including Natural Language Processing (NLP), speech recognition, time series forecasting, music generation, and bioinformatics. Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) and Long Short Term Memory Networks (LSTMs) have historically dominated sequence modeling tasks like Machine Translation, Named Entity Recognition (NER), etc. However, the advancement of transformers has led to a shift in this paradigm, given their superior performance. Yet, transformers suffer from $O(N^2)$ attention complexity and challenges in handling inductive bias. Several variations have been proposed to address these issues which use spectral networks or convolutions and have performed well on a range of tasks. However, they still have difficulty in dealing with long sequences. State Space Models(SSMs) have emerged as promising alternatives for sequence modeling paradigms in this context, especially with the advent of S4 and its variants, such as S4nd, Hippo, Hyena, Diagnol State Spaces (DSS), Gated State Spaces (GSS), Linear Recurrent Unit (LRU), Liquid-S4, Mamba, etc. In this survey, we categorize the foundational SSMs based on three paradigms namely, Gating architectures, Structural architectures, and Recurrent architectures. This survey also highlights diverse applications of SSMs across domains such as vision, video, audio, speech, language (especially long sequence modeling), medical (including genomics), chemical (like drug design), recommendation systems, and time series analysis, including tabular data. Moreover, we consolidate the performance of SSMs on benchmark datasets like Long Range Arena (LRA), WikiText, Glue, Pile, ImageNet, Kinetics-400, sstv2, as well as video datasets such as Breakfast, COIN, LVU, and various time series datasets. The battery management system plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and dependability of electric and hybrid vehicles. It is responsible for various functions, including state evaluation, monitoring, charge control, and cell balancing, all integrated within the BMS. Nonetheless, due to the uncertainties surrounding battery performance, implementing these functionalities poses significant challenges. In this study, we explore the latest approaches for assessing battery states, highlight notable advancements in battery management systems (BMS), address existing issues with current BMS technology, and put forth possible solutions for predicting battery charging voltage.

The 3D U-Net, has given IoUs for training and validation dataset have been 0.8181 and 0.66 respectively. Conclusion: Ultimately, this comprehensive framework showcases the efficacy of deep learning in automating brain tumour detection, offering valuable support in clinical practice.

Introduction: Video Quality Assessment (VQA) is one of the important areas of study in this modern era, where video is a crucial component of communication with applications in every field. Rapid technology developments in mobile technology enabled anyone to create videos resulting in a varied range of video quality scenarios. Objectives: Though VQA was present for some time with the classical metrices like SSIM and PSNR, the advent of machine learning has brought in new techniques of VQAs which are built upon Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) or Deep Neural Networks (DNNs). Methods: Over the past years various research studies such as the BVQA which performed video quality assessment of nature-based videos using DNNs exposed the powerful capabilities of machine learning algorithms. BVQA using DNNs explored human visual system effects such as content dependency and time-related factors normally known as temporal effects. Results: This study explores the sharpness effect on models like BVQA. Sharpness is the measure of the clarity and details of the video image. Sharpness typically involves analyzing the edges and contrast of the image to determine the overall level of detail and sharpness. Conclusion: This study uses the existing video quality databases such as CVD2014. A comparative study of the various machine learning parameters such as SRCC and PLCC during the training and testing are presented along with the conclusion.

Introduction: Music generation is a complex task that has received significant attention in recent years, and deep learning techniques have shown promising results in this field. Objectives: While extensive work has been carried out on generating Piano and other Western music, there is limited research on generating classical Indian music due to the scarcity of Indian music in machine-encoded formats. In this technical paper, methods for generating classical Indian music, specifically tabla music, is proposed. Initially, this paper explores piano music generation using deep learning architectures. Then the fundamentals are extended to generating tabla music. Methods: Tabla music in waveform (.wav) files are pre-processed using the librosa library in Python. A novel Bi-LSTM with an Attention approach and a transformer model are trained on the extracted features and labels. Results: The models are then used to predict the next sequences of tabla music. A loss of 4.042 and MAE of 1.0814 are achieved with the Bi-LSTM model. With the transformer model, a loss of 55.9278 and MAE of 3.5173 are obtained for tabla music generation. Conclusion: The resulting music embodies a harmonious fusion of novelty and familiarity, pushing the limits of music composition to new horizons.

Objectives: This paper presents a comprehensive approach to enhancing the user experience through the integration of emotion recognition, music recommendation, and explainable AI using GRAD-CAM. Methods: The proposed methodology utilizes a ResNet50 model trained on the Facial Expression Recognition (FER) dataset, consisting of real images of individuals expressing various emotions. Results: The system achieves an accuracy of 82% in emotion classification. By leveraging GRAD-CAM, the model provides explanations for its predictions, allowing users to understand the reasoning behind the system's recommendations. The model is trained on both FER and real user datasets, which include labelled facial expressions, and real images of individuals expressing various emotions. The training process involves pre-processing the input images, extracting features through convolutional layers, reasoning with dense layers, and generating emotion predictions through the output layer. Conclusion: The proposed methodology, leveraging the Resnet50 model with ROI-based analysis and explainable AI techniques, offers a robust and interpretable solution for facial emotion detection paper.

Introduction: Automated Lung X-Ray Abnormality Detection System is the application which distinguish the normal x-ray images from infected x-ray images and highlight area considered for prediction, with the recent pandemic a need to have a non-conventional method and faster detecting diseases, for which X ray serves the purpose. Obectives: As of current situation any viral disease that is infectious is potential pandemic, so there is need for cheap and early detection system. Methods: This research will help to eases the work of expert to do further analysis. Accuracy of three different preexisting models such as DenseNet, MobileNet and VGG16 were high but models over-fitted primarily due to black and white images. Results: This led to building up new method such as as V-BreathNet which gave more than 96% percent accuracy. Conclusion: Thus, it can be stated that not all state-of art CNN models can be used on B/W images. In conclusion not all state-of-art CNN models can be used on B/W images.

Water isotope separation, specifically separating heavy from light water, is a socially significant issue due to the usage of heavy water in applications such as nuclear magnetic resonance, nuclear power, and spectroscopy. Separation of heavy water from light water is difficult due to very similar physical and chemical properties between the isotopes. We show that a catalytically active ultrathin membrane (e.g., a nanopore in MoS2) can enable chemical exchange processes and physicochemical mechanisms that lead to efficient separation of deuterium from hydrogen, quantified as the D2O and deuterium separation ratio of 4.5 and 1.73, respectively. The separation process is inherently multiscale in nature with the shorter times representing chemical exchange processes and the longer timescales representing the transport phenomena. To bridge the timescales, we employ a deep learning methodology which uses short time scale ab-initio molecular dynamics data for training and extends the timescales to classical molecular dynamics regime to demonstrate isotope separation and reveal the underlying complex physicochemical processes.
