Applying networking and connectivity to empower human resources and infrastructure towards the formation of sustainable regional service ecosystems is becoming increasingly important for well-being of people within and outside society to meet social challenges. However, the concepts of smart city (SC) for residents/citizens and smart tourism destination (STD) for visitors/tourists are not yet well coordinated. Therefore, this research provides a framework for regional innovation through “smartization”, which is common to both SC and STD. The framework is constructed from the perspective of the service ecosystem and applied by analysis of four case studies: The framework is constructed from the perspective of the service ecosystem and applied by analysis of four case studies: two representative smart city projects (“urban policy”-directed type) (Toyama and Aizu-Wakamatsu), and two advanced tourism projects (“resource integration”-directed type) in Japan and Slovenia. Based on these examples, the framework clarifies the macro aspects of human resources and infrastructure’s roles with data platform and presents a smartization model with service layers and dynamic spiral through integrating to the concept of Smart Tourism City (STC): a city that aims to improve/create QoL (quality of life) and QoE (quality of experience) for citizens and tourists. It is expected that further STC-concept-based research towards building the quantitative model will lead to concrete insights into the typology of holistic servitisation of each city or region.

Co-intercalation of Hexafluorophosphate(PF6-) and Bis(trifluoromethane sulfonyl)imide (TFSI-) anions as a result of the use of a mixed salt of LiPF6 and LiTFSI is studied for the increased performance of a dual-carbon battery (DCB). Unlike the fluorineor the imide-based anions (e.g., PF6- and TFSI-), the cluster formation between co intercalated PF6- and TFSI- in the positive electrode of a DCB results in achieving high discharge capacities with significantly increased cycle properties. A reversible discharge capacity of 85 mAh/g-cathode over 350 cycles with no significant degradation is presented. The Coulombic efficiency of almost 100% is reached after the initial 10 cycles and suitable rate property is also observed. F NMR analysis on graphitic carbon intercalated with PF6- and TFSI- suggests the interaction between two anions and ratio of intercalated PF6 and TFSIwas changed by applied voltage, resulting in the increased stability of the intercalated structure which is also supported by the first principles calculations.

National audience; We investigated an instability provoked by ascending spherical bubbles in a horizontal stationary liquid layer. The bubbles are injected uniformly into liquid from the bottom plate at a constant speed. The bubbles rising motion accelerated by the Archimedean buoyancy then results in unstable stratification. Conditions for the development of cellular flow are determined by a linear stability analysis based on simple physical model. When the volumetric gaseous flux is larger than a critical value, the flow is unstable against perturbations of finite wavenumber and stationary convection rolls start growing. The critical mode is stationary. The mechanism of the instability is discussed.

This paper is focused on the process of value creation in the service business and on the shift of service value created in actual service businesses. The analysis is used to demonstrate proposed models for explaining this shift. Service value is successfully created when customers enjoy the benefits of services proposed through a system of service businesses. The model visualizes the shift of service value, focusing on the three axes of width (of the place for service providing/usage in the service interaction points), level (of user satisfaction), and autonomy (the degree of customer involvement in service co-creation) of service value, which are added one after the other as three ordinal scales integrated into a three dimensional service value model. Knowledge creation theory, social psychology, and recent advances of service theory are considered aiming to apply the model to understanding the value creation in actual service businesses and to use the new insights for promoting value creation in service organizations characterized by active customer interaction. The validity of the proposed model is tested on case studies involving accommodation and network-based services. In two cases (the flower tourism navigation service “Hana-Navi” and the robotized music entertainment service “Miuro”) the model's validity is confirmed through interviews with top executives and managers, major service planners of the respective services. The service value visualization through the three-axis model and the method for investigating the related service embodiment provide common service concepts and show a methodology for systematic service planning.
