Background: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disorder with a wide range of clinical manifestations, including neurological issues in about 25%–75% of cases. Among the neurological involvement cases, most cases show migraine. However, the prevalence of migraine varied worldwide, and in some studies, a higher incidence of migraine in SLE cases was reported compared to healthy controls. In the present study, we adopted a meta-analysis approach to find out the prevalence of migraine in SLE patients worldwide and investigate whether migraine frequency is more prevalent in SLE patients than controls. Material and methods: Various literature databases such as Scopus, PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar were screened for eligible studies. The last search was performed on January 21, 2023. Publication biases were accessed by Egger's regression analysis and funnel plots. Cochrane Q statistics and I2 values explored the presence or absence of heterogeneity. All statistical analysis of meta-analysis was performed in comprehensive meta-analysis software v3. Results: Based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, 17 reports comprising 2901 SLE patients and 575 healthy controls were considered in the present study. The meta-analysis revealed the prevalence of migraine to be 34.8%. Furthermore, migraine was more prevalent in SLE patients than healthy controls (OR: 1.964, p = 0.000, 95% CI = 1.512–2.550). Similar trends were also observed while considering another 10 independent reports those were not disclosed about the migraine diagnosis criteria (number of reports: 27, SLE: 3473, HC: 741, prevalence: 33.5%, SLE vs HC: OR = 2.107, p = 0.000, 95% CI = 1.672–2.655). Subgroup analysis demonstrated that SLE patients from South America had a higher prevalence of migraine (56.2%). Conclusions: About one-third of SLE patients experience migraine worldwide. Background: The role of interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) in autoimmune disorders has been well documented. Elevated levels of IFN-γ are observed in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and are linked with disease severity. Single nucleotide polymorphism in the intronic region of the IFN-γ gene (+874 T>A rs2430561) has been associated with susceptibility to the development of RA and SLE; however, the reports remained contradictories. We conducted a meta-analysis using earlier published articles to reach a valid conclusion on the role of IFN-γ polymorphism (+874 T>A) in autoimmune diseases. Materials and methods: Various online databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, Science Direct, and Scopus were searched to find eligible reports for inclusion in the present analysis. Two independent authors extracted eligible studies and data. The meta-analysis was performed by comprehensive meta-analysis software (CMA) v.3.1. Trial sequential analysis was performed to test whether enough case-control studies have already been conducted worldwide to reach a valid observation. Results: Six published reports on the role of IFN-γ +874 T>A in SLE and four in RA were found after searching various databases. However, out of those six studies in SLE, in one study, the distribution of genotypes was not following the hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. In RA, three studies were deviated out of four reports. Thus, a total of five studies comprising 1440 SLE patients and 1748 controls were considered for the present meta-analysis. Meta-analysis showed a significant association between IFN-γ +874 T>A variants with susceptibility to SLE (homozygous comparison: p = 0.036, OR = 1.592, heterozygous model: p = 0.042, OR = 1.507, dominant model: p = 0.002, OR = 1.309). The objective of this study was to predict gestational age of Osmanabadi goats by realtime ultrasonography using measurements of Crown Rump Length (CRL). CRL was measured in 15 Osmanabadi goats, by transabdominal ultrasonography carried out on days 35, 42, 49, 56, 63 and 70 of gestation, those became pregnant after oestrus detection and natural mating following oestrus synchronization in 30 does using double PGF2α injections 11 days apart. Gestational age was calculated by using gestational equations derived from the linear regression analysis. Results clearly demonstrated that biometric parameter CRL was significantly (P< 0.01) correlated with gestational age (r= 0.988) and was a reliable index to predict gestational age in Osmanabadi goats. The study evaluated the faecal testosterone concentration of two adult male Bengal tigers (Panthera tigris tigris) of Nandankanan Zoological Park, Bhubaneswar during mating and non mating periods. Fresh faecal samples, collected twice in a week during morning hours, were extracted by adding 80% methanol. The faecal testosterone concentrations of the two male tigers assayed during their breeding season by immune-enzymatic technique using Multi Label Plate Reader were 48.02±1.32 and 52.31±1.35 ng/g, respectively. The faecal testosterone level during the mating period of tiger (53.84 ± 0.81 ng/g) was significantly higher (p < 0.05) as compared to that of non-mating season. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

India has rich biodiversity of medicinal plants and traditional knowledge on herbal medicines to treat the animals and human beings. Reproduction disorders affect the production potential of the animals. Treatment of post partum disorders and infertility is a great task in animal reproduction especially in cattle. We are using the synthetic chemical drugs /medicines/ hormones to treat the reproductive disorders but it causes public health hazard and severe side effects on the animal reproduction. But the herbal drugs fewer side effects and more benefits and less health hazards. The article focuses on a study of the effect of substitution of cattle seminal plasma with that of mithun bulls on seminal parameters. Topics discussed include selection of mithun bulls/collection of semen from the animals, collection of cattle bull seminal plasma, and classification of 5 seminal plasma groups. Analysis of data and results in terms which include individual motility, livability and acrosomal integrity are discussed.

The article presents a study to find an efficient semen quality test to be applied in duck breeding using a methylene blue reduction test (MBRT) in semen analysis of White Pekin ducks. MBRT is said to be a simple test that reflects sperm metabolism. 30-45 week old White Pekin drakes were used as subjects, whose semen were collected and tested. Semen quality parameters including colour, mass motility and volume were described. The practicality of MBRT in monitoring semen quality is discussed.

In domestic species, spontaneous erection and penile movements or manipulation occur in an awake state, the behaviour is commonly known as masturbation. Six mithun bulls were selected, of which, three from Mizoram and three from Manipur strain. These strains were observed over a period of 12 months. This behaviuor were observed from 1800 to 800 hrs and especially in winter and spring season. The parameters studied were duration of erection, frequency of movements of penis, time of sexual erection and masturbation. Seminal parameters such as volume, mass activity, progressive motility, live sperm, concentration, abnormality, acrosomal integrity and HOST were studied, which were collected by massage method. Other parameters such as success rate, protrusion time, length of penis and ejaculation time were also studied. The seminal parameters were showed that there was no significant difference between the affected and unaffected animal. The article presents a case study of a-5-year-old cow with uterine prolapse. Methods and materials use in the study, which highlights the success of clinical management of retention suture are offered. Results emphasizing the benefits of suturing technique and management of uterine prolapse with better prognosis are also noted.

A three year old crossbred cow in estrus was presented with history of dystocia before three months. The cow exhibited estrous twice without any vaginal discharges. Per-rectal examination revealed a fluid filled pouch like structure on floor of pelvic cavity with uterine horn present deep in abdominal cavity. Non-passage of fingers on pervaginal examination confirmed adhesions of vaginal mucus. A blunt scissor was used carefully to separate adhesions without any damage to mucus membranes. The cervical mucus of both the succeeding estrus, so deposited in pouch like structure, was scooped out from vagina. Intrauterine and parenteral antibiotics along with Prednisolone and Serratiopeptidase lead to complete recovery and resumed normal estrus within three weeks. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
