When a foreign group that wants to relocate comes into contact with the culture of the host group, the process of intercultural adaptation of both groups is set in motion. The process starts and continues through communication, regardless of its form. During this process, individuals undergo a certain degree of intercultural transformation, corresponding to the degree of communication they have had. Transformation is bilateral and occurs naturally and inevitably, even when foreigners do not seek to adapt and want to maintain their individuality, even if they do not have a proactive attitude in order for adaptation to occur, even when there is no desire to effectively participate in communicative activities with the hosts and the foreigners choose to mainly become implicated in superficial contacts with the natives. Even in extreme conflictual situations, such as war or the crisis of refugees, the individuals who came into contact with the culture of the states where they took refuge, upon returning to their own country, no longer have the same cultural traits as when they left their native country. The purpose of this article is to theoretically analyze the psychological mechanisms that are of interest in the field of social work regarding the process of intercultural transformation that takes place through communication between the host group and the foreign group in the clash of two different cultures. This work is a continuation of a study on 'Depressive and anxiety disorders in adolescents. A psycho-spiritual approach and statistical contextualization' and highlights from a theoretical perspective the interdependent relationship between the spiritual and mental health, which should be seriously contemplated when creating a therapy plan for adolescents with depressive and anxiety disorders. It also deals with the connection between health and the temptations of the current world, which theology and spirituality distinguish in the multitude of emotional and psychological disorders. Additionally, this study showcases the psychotherapies in a synthetic manner: cognitive-behavioral, existential, logotherapy and interpersonal psychotherapy and highlights the inherent value of their interconnection with religious acts such as fasting, prayer, confession, which support the medical-psychological therapeutics, providing adolescents with discipline in the process of healing these contemporary pathologies. At the beginning of the third millennium, depression is under a lot of debate and specialist studies, literature, artistic manifestations and people's testimonies highlight this form of mental disorder that is growing and giving rise to complex and various problems. Depression means a state of pathological sadness and, at the same time, is a permanent negative state, an emotional pain overwhelming an individual in moments almost normal of life, but which are perceived disproportionately. Besides sadness, cognition, thought process, will and decision-making power are also impaired. Usually, depressive states do not have an organic cause, but some existential causes, linked to the absence of perception of life meaning and the connection to God. Depressive disorder is a real public health issue, with a major impact on the cognitive, psychological and social development of adolescents. Therefore, this work aims to identify, from a theoretical perspective, the factors that generate a context favoring the triggering and amplification of some forms of depressive or anxiety disorders in adolescents, and also to highlight some multidisciplinary methods of understanding and intervention proposals. This paper started from the premise that emotions occupy an important place in one's life, giving meaning to human existence, and it was shaped by the need to understand human behaviour and the essence of society as a whole. The approach of understanding led us to an analysis of emotions that goes beyond a single subject and up to a broader one, the sociology of emotions. The contemporary society is marked by perpetual change and is disturbed by the uncertainty that affects both the psyche of individuals and the structures of the society. Today, negative emotions, and implicitly fear, easily propagate between individuals and take on a strong social character, and the perception of individual and collective threats is often the result of distorting the real picture of threats, which profoundly affects how fears can be managed. The present study focuses on the theoretical analysis of the evolution of human perception of emotion in general and on the manifestation forms of fears. It also aims to expose an overview of fears, trying to capture their dynamic, oscillating and easily influenced character, from a sociological perspective, focusing on the specific characteristics of the Romanian people.
