Genotype-by-environment (GEI) interaction provides the basic information that helps breeders to select stable and superior genotypes for targeted environments. Climate change also alters the recommendations of the genotype for a specific condition. The field study carried out during the cropping seasons of 2015–2016 determined the performance of 16 wheat genotypes (13 lines and three cultivars) at three different locations: The University of Agriculture, Peshawar (UAP), Nuclear Institute of Food and Agriculture, Peshawar (NIFA), and Cereal Crops Research Institute (CCRI), Pirsabak-Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Data on yield contributing parameters (days to heading, spike length, spikelets spike-1, grain weight spike-1, 1000-grain weight, and grain yield) were collected and analysed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and stability analysis. Mean square values revealed highly significant results for all the traits under consideration for genotypes (G) and locations (L). Likewise, interactions (GEI) were highly significant for all the traits except grain weight spike-1. The performance of genotypes under different locations indicated no similarity. However, the overall performance of genotypes displayed better under environmental conditions of the Cereal Crops Research Institute (CCRI- Location No: 03). According to the Eberhart and Russell approach, the genotypes K-87, PR-113, Pak-13, PR-112, NR-449, and KT-338 were confirmed stable under tested locations for yield contributing traits as their regression coefficient (bi) value exhibited close to unity. Correlations of grain yield with yield contributing traits considered were significant and positive except for days to heading.

A remarkably large of number of polynomials have been presented and studied. Among several important polynomials, Legendre polynomials, Gould-Hopper polynomials, and Sheffer polynomials have been intensively investigated. In this paper, we aim to incorporate the above-referred three polynomials to introduce the Legendre-Gould Hopper-based Sheffer polynomials by modifying the classical generating function of the Sheffer polynomials. In addition, we investigate diverse properties and formulas for these newly introduced polynomials.

In the present paper, we establish some interesting integrals involving the product of Bessel function of the first kind with Jacobi polynomial, which are expressed in terms of Kampe de Feriet and Srivastava and Daoust functions. Some other integrals involving the product of Bessel (sine and cosine) function with ultraspherical polynomial, Gegenbauer polynomial, Tchebicheff polynomial, and Legendre polynomial are also established as special cases of our main results. Further, we derive an interesting connection between Kampe de Feriet and Srivastava and Daoust functions.

Solving a linear partial differential equation witness a noteworthy role of Wright function. Due to its usefulness and various applications, a variety of its extensions (and generalizations) have been investigated and presented. The purpose and design of the paper are intended to study and come up with a new extension of the generalized Wright function by using generalized beta function and obtain some integral representation of the freshly defined function. Also, we present the Mellin transform of this function in the form of Fox–Wright function. Furthermore, we obtain the recurrence relation, derivative formula for the said function and also by using an extended Riemann–Liouville fractional derivative, we present a fractional derivative formula for the generalized Wright function.

The structural, electronic and optical properties of IIA–VIA compounds are performed, by using the full-potential linearized augmented plan wave (FP-LAPW) method within DFT, by using the (PBEsol-GGA 2008) version. We have compared the modified Becke–Johnson (mBJ) potential to LDA, GGA and EV-GGA approximations. The IIA–VIA compounds have rock salt structure (B1) and zinc-blend structure (B3). The results obtained for band structure using mBJ show a significant improvement over previous theoretical work and give closer values to the experimental results. The bandgaps less than 3.1 eV are used in the visible light devices applications, while those with bandgaps bigger than 3.1 eV, used in UV devices applications. Optical parameters, like the dielectric constant, refractive indices, reflectivity, optical conductivity and absorption coefficient are calculated and analyzed. Refractive index lesser than unity (vg=c/n) shows that the group velocity of the incident radiation is greater than the speed of light.

The computation of the Rayleigh damping coefficients � and ? is an important consideration in the area of the modal superposition technique. In this paper, an experimental investigation carried out on square and rectangular plates with various boundary conditions to determine the damping ratios for a few modes of vibration is reported. Based on the experimental findings, the Rayleigh damping coefficients can be computed for subsequent use in the modal superposition technique. ? 1995 Academic Press. All rights reserved.

grading of pulmonary rejection, we could demonstrate that grafts from animals lacking CD26 showed a significant reduction in rejection in comparison to CD26 positive controls. Also, specific differences in leukocyte infiltration were observed. Conclusions: While an increasing rejection over time is observed in all grafts, including the CD26 negative lungs, our results suggest a significant role for CD26 in the rejection process. Thus, inhibition of CD26 may be used as a clinical tool to enhance long term survival after lung transplantation.

Purpose: Apoptosis is initiated in graft cells during acute rejection as a result of immunologic insult. Apoptotic cells have increased expression of mannose which may bind mannose binding lectin leading to complement activation. However, the role of complement is unclear in allograft rejection. This study investigates the role of MBL and complement activation in acute rejection following heart transplantation. Methods and Materials: Blood samples were collected from 42 heart transplant recipients. The serum concentration and functionality of MBL was determined using a quantitative sandwich ELISA. Clinical data was collected from patient notes and statistical analysis was undertaken using SPSS v.11 with p values less than 0.05 being taken as significant. Results: MBL concentration was controlled for demographic variables and immunosuppressive therapy (agent, dose and serum concentration). Individuals with dysfunctional MBL had significantly fewer rejection positive biopsies (6.3 /-3.8%) than those with functional MBL (12.9 /-11.6%), p 0.016. Conclusions: This study indicates that complement activation by MBL contributes to the acute rejection cascade following cardiac transplantation. This is likely to be caused by formation of C4b2a via C2 and C4 cleavage, leading to activation of the membrane attack complex. Increased vascular permeability will occur through C5a release, along with recruitment and activation of neutrophils, monocytes and eosinophils from C3a and C4a.

A nonlinear vibration analysis of the slider-crank mechanism used in reciprocating machines such as internal-combustion engines and air compressors is formulated by the principles of variational mechanics. A dynamically equivalent system is employed in which the connecting rod is modelled as a pendulum oscillating about a reciprocating piston and an approximate solution is derived by an application of the Ritz averaging method. Numerical results for a typical example are presented and discussed.
