Abstract: We report on the experimental search for the bound state of an η meson and He3 nucleus performed using the WASA-at-COSY detector setup. In order to search for the η-mesic nucleus decay, the pd→3He2γ and pd→3He6γ channels have been analysed. These reactions manifest the direct decay of the η meson bound in a He3 nucleus. This non-mesonic decay channel has been considered for the first time. When taking into account only statistical errors, the obtained excitation functions reveal a slight indication for a possible bound state signal corresponding to a 3He-η nucleus width Γ above 20 MeV and binding energy Bs between 0 and 15 MeV. However, the determined cross sections are consistent with zero in the range of the systematic uncertainty. Therefore, as final result we estimate only the upper limit for the cross section of the η-mesic He3 nucleus formation followed by the η meson decay which varies between 2 nb and 15 nb depending on possible bound state parameters. Abstract: We report on the search for the rare decay η→π0e+e− which is of interest to study C violation in the electromagnetic interaction which would indicate contributions from physics beyond the Standard Model, since the allowed decay via a two-photon intermediate state is strongly suppressed. The experiment has been performed using the WASA-at-COSY installation, located at the COSY accelerator of the Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany. In total 3×107 events of the reaction pd→3Heη have been recorded at an excess energy of Q=59.8MeV. Based on this data set the C parity violating decay η→π0γ⁎→π0e+e− via a single-photon intermediate state has been searched for, resulting in new upper limits of Γ(η→π0e+e−)/Γ(η→π+π−π0)

Abstract: New data on both total and differential cross sections of the production of η mesons in proton–deuteron fusion to He3η in the excess energy region 13.6MeV≤Qη≤80.9MeV are presented. These data have been obtained with the WASA-at-COSY detector setup located at the Forschungszentrum Jülich, using a proton beam at 15 different beam momenta between pp=1.60GeV/c and pp=1.74GeV/c. While significant structure of the total cross section is observed in the energy region 20MeV≲Qη≲60MeV, a previously reported sharp variation around Qη≈50MeV cannot be confirmed. Angular distributions show the typical forward-peaking that was noted earlier. For the first time, it is possible to study the development of these angular distributions with rising excess energy over a wide interval. Abstract: This letter reports a first quantitative analysis of the contribution of higher partial waves in the charge symmetry breaking reaction dd→4Heπ0 using the WASA-at-COSY detector setup at an excess energy of Q=60MeV. The determined differential cross section can be parametrized as dσ/dΩ=a+bcos2⁡θ⁎, where θ⁎ is the production angle of the pion in the center-of-mass coordinate system, and the results for the parameters are a=(1.55±0.46(stat)+0.32−0.8(syst))pb/sr and b=(13.1±2.1(stat)−2.7+1.0(syst))pb/sr. The data are compatible with vanishing p-waves and a sizable d-wave contribution. This finding should strongly constrain the contribution of the Δ isobar to the dd→4Heπ0 reaction and is, therefore, crucial for a quantitative understanding of quark mass effects in nuclear production reactions. Abstract: Exclusive measurements of the quasi-free pn→ppπ− and pp→ppπ0 reactions have been performed by means of pd collisions at Tp=1.2 GeV using the WASA detector setup at COSY. Total and differential cross sections have been obtained covering the energy region Tp=0.95–1.3 GeV (s=2.3–2.46 GeV), which includes the regions of Δ(1232), N⁎(1440) and d⁎(2380) resonance excitations. From these measurements the isoscalar single-pion production has been extracted, for which data existed so far only below Tp=1 GeV. We observe a substantial increase of this cross section around 1 GeV, which can be related to the Roper resonance N⁎(1440), the strength of which shows up isolated from the Δ resonance in the isoscalar (Nπ)I=0 invariant-mass spectrum. No evidence for a decay of the dibaryon resonance d⁎(2380) into the isoscalar (NNπ)I=0 channel is found. An upper limit of 180 μb (90% C.L.) corresponding to a branching ratio of 9% has been deduced.

Abstract: Using the production reactions pd→He3ω and pp→ppω, the Dalitz plot distribution for the ω→π+π−π0 decay is studied with the WASA detector at COSY, based on a combined data sample of (4.408±0.042)×104 events. The Dalitz plot density is parametrised by a product of the P-wave phase space and a polynomial expansion in the normalised polar Dalitz plot variables Z and ϕ. For the first time, a deviation from pure P-wave phase space is observed with a significance of 4.1σ. The deviation is parametrised by a linear term 1+2αZ, with α determined to be +0.147±0.036, consistent with the expectations of ρ-meson-type final-state interactions of the P-wave pion pairs.

Abstract: Various theoretical calculations based on QCD or hadronic interactions predict that in addition to the recently observed dibaryon resonance d⁎(2380) with I(JP)=0(3+) there should also exist a dibaryon resonance with mirrored quantum numbers I(JP)=3(0+). We report here on a search for such a NN-decoupled state in data on the pp→ppπ+π+π−π− reaction. Since no clear-cut evidence has been found, we give upper limits for the production cross section of such a resonance in the mass range 2280–2500 MeV. Keywords: Dibaryons, Four-pion production

Abstract: Exclusive measurements of the quasi-free np→npπ0π0 reaction have been performed by means of dp collisions at Td=2.27 GeV using the WASA detector setup at COSY. Total and differential cross sections have been obtained covering the energy region s=(2.35–2.46) GeV, which includes the region of the ABC effect and its associated d⁎(2380) resonance. Adding the d⁎ resonance amplitude to that for the conventional processes leads to a reasonable description of the data. The observed resonance effect in the total cross section is in agreement with the predictions of Fäldt and Wilkin as well with those of Albadajedo and Oset. The ABC effect, i.e. the low-mass enhancement in the π0π0-invariant mass spectrum, is found to be very modest – if present at all, which might pose a problem to some of its interpretations. Abstract: Charge symmetry breaking (CSB) observables are a suitable experimental tool to examine effects induced by quark masses on the nuclear level. Previous high precision data from TRIUMF and IUCF are currently used to develop a consistent description of CSB within the framework of chiral perturbation theory. In this work the experimental studies on the reaction dd→He4π0 have been extended towards higher excess energies in order to provide information on the contribution of p-waves in the final state. For this, an exclusive measurement has been carried out at a beam momentum of pd=1.2 GeV/c using the WASA-at-COSY facility. The total cross section amounts to σtot=(118±18stat±13sys±8ext) pb and first data on the differential cross section are consistent with s-wave pion production. Abstract: The differential cross sections of the charge exchange reaction $$dp \rightarrow (pp)n$$ has been measured at 1.75 GeV/c per nucleon for small transferred momenta using the one arm magnetic spectrometer STRELA at the Nuclotron accelerator in JINR Dubna. The ratio of the differential cross section of the charge exchange reaction $$dp \rightarrow (pp)n$$ to that of the $$np \rightarrow pn$$ elementary process is discussed in order to estimate the spin-dependent part of the $$np \rightarrow pn$$ charge exchange amplitude. The $$np \rightarrow pn$$ amplitude turned out to be predominantly spin-dependent.

Abstract: The excitation function for the $pd\rightarrow$ $d p \pi^{0}$ reaction has been measured by WASA-at-COSY experiment with the aim of searching for $^{3}\hspace{-0.03cm}\mbox{He}$-$\eta$ mesic nuclei. The measurement in the vicinity of $\eta$ meson production was performed using a ramped proton beam. The data analysis and interpretation was carried out with the assumption that the $\eta$-mesic Helium decays via the formation of an intermediate N$^{*}$(1535) resonance. No direct signal of the $\eta$-mesic nucleus is observed in the excitation function. We determine a new improved upper limit for the total cross section for the bound state production and decay in the $pd\rightarrow$ $(^{3}\hspace{-0.03cm}\mbox{He}$-$\eta)_{bound} \rightarrow$ $d p \pi^{0}$ process. It varies between 13 nb to 24 nb for the bound state with width in the range $\Gamma \in (5,50)$ MeV.

Abstract: Differential cross sections have been extracted from exclusive and kinematically complete high-statistics measurements of quasifree polarized np scattering performed in the energy region of the d*(2380) dibaryon resonance covering the range of beam energies Tn=0.98−1.29 GeV (s=2.32−2.44 GeV). The experiment was carried out with the WASA-at-COSY setup having a polarized deuteron beam impinged on the hydrogen pellet target and utilizing the quasifree process dp→np+pspectator. In this way the np differential cross section σ(Θ) was measured over a large angular range. The obtained angular distributions complement the corresponding analyzing power Ay(Θ) measurements published previously. A SAID partial-wave analysis incorporating the new data strengthens the finding of a resonance pole in the coupled D33-G33 waves.

Abstract: The differential cross section for the 1H(d,pp)n breakup reaction at deuteron beam energy of 340 MeV has been measured with the use of the WASA detector at COSY-Jülich. The set of proton-proton coincidences registered at the Forward Detector has been analyzed on a dense grid of kinematic variables, giving in total around 5600 data points. The cross-section data are compared to theoretical predictions based on the state-of-the-art nucleon-nucleon potentials, combined with a three-nucleon force or the Coulomb interaction or carried out in a relativistic regime.

Abstract: We report on the search for the rare decay η → π 0 e + e − which is of interest to study C violation in the electromagnetic interaction which would indicate contributions from physics beyond the Standard Model, since the allowed decay via a two-photon intermediate state is strongly suppressed. The experiment has been performed using the WASA-at-COSY installation, located at the COSY accelerator of the Forschungszentrum Julich, Germany. In total 3 × 10 7 events of the reaction p d → 3 He η have been recorded at an excess energy of Q = 59.8 MeV . Based on this data set the C parity violating decay η → π 0 γ ⁎ → π 0 e + e − via a single-photon intermediate state has been searched for, resulting in new upper limits of Γ ( η → π 0 e + e − ) / Γ ( η → π + π − π 0 ) 3.28 × 10 − 5 and Γ ( η → π 0 e + e − ) / Γ ( η → all ) 7.5 × 10 − 6 ( CL = 90 % ), respectively.

Abstract: The search for He 4 - η bound states was performed with the WASA-at-COSY facility via the measurement of the excitation function for the d d → He 3 n π 0 and d d → He 3 p π − processes. The deuteron beam momentum was varied continuously between 2.127 GeV/c and 2.422 GeV/c, corresponding to the excess energy for the d d → He 4 η reaction ranging from Q = − 70 MeV to Q = 30 MeV . The luminosity was determined based on the d d → He 3 n reaction and the quasi-free proton–proton scattering via d d → p p n s p e c t a t o r n s p e c t a t o r reactions. The excitation functions, determined independently for the measured reactions, do not reveal a structure which could be interpreted as a narrow mesic nucleus. Therefore, the upper limits of the total cross sections for the bound state production and decay in d d → ( He 4 - η ) b o u n d → He 3 n π 0 and d d → ( He 4 - η ) b o u n d → He 3 p π − processes were determined taking into account the isospin relation between the both of the considered channels. The results of the analysis depend on the assumptions of the N ⁎ (1535) momentum distribution in the anticipated mesic- He 4 . Assuming, as in the previous works, that this is identical with the distribution of nucleons bound with 20 MeV in He 4 , we determined that (for the mesic bound state width in the range from 5 MeV to 50 MeV) the upper limits at 90% confidence level are about 3 nb and about 6 nb for n π 0 and p π − channels, respectively. However, based on the recent theoretical findings of the N ⁎ (1535) momentum distribution in the N ⁎ - He 3 nucleus bound by 3.6 MeV, we find that the WASA-at-COSY detector acceptance decreases and hence the corresponding upper limits are 5 nb and 10 nb for n π 0 and p π − channels respectively.

Abstract: Various theoretical calculations based on QCD or hadronic interactions predict that in addition to the recently observed dibaryon resonance d⁎(2380) with I(JP)=0(3+) there should also exist a dibaryon resonance with mirrored quantum numbers I(JP)=3(0+). We report here on a search for such a NN-decoupled state in data on the pp→ppπ+π+π−π− reaction. Since no clear-cut evidence has been found, we give upper limits for the production cross section of such a resonance in the mass range 2280–2500 MeV., This work has been supported by DFG (CL 214/3-1), STFC (ST/L00478X/1) and by the Polish National Science Center through grants Nos. Abstract: The analyzing powers for neutron charge exchange nA → pX reactions on nuclei have been measured on C, CH2 and Cu targets at incident neutron momenta 3.0 - 4.2 GeV/c by detecting one charged particle in forward direction. The polarized neutron measurements are the first of their kind. The experiment was performed using the Nuclotron accelerator in JINR Dubna, where polarized neutrons and protons were obtained from breakup of a polarized deuteron beam which has a maximum momentum of 13 GeV/c. The polarimeter ALPOM2 was used to obtain the analyzing power dependence on the transverse momentum of the final-state nucleon. These data have been used to estimate the figure of merit of a proposed experiment at Jefferson Laboratory to measure the recoiling neutron polarization in the quasi-elastic 2 H(e, e′n) reaction, which yields information on the charge and magnetic elastic form factors of the neutron.

Abstract: The quasifree pp → ppπ+π− reaction has been measured by means of pd collisions at Tp = 1.2 GeV using the WASA detector setup at COSY enabling exclusive and kinematically complete measurements. Total and differential cross sections have been extracted for the energy region Tp = 1.08–1.36 GeV (√s = 2.35–2.46 GeV) covering thus the regions of N∗(1440) and (1232)(1232) resonance excitations. Calculations describing these excitations by t-channel meson exchange as well as isospin relations based on the pp → ppπ0π0 data underpredict substantially the measured total cross section. The calculations are also at variance with specific experimental differential cross sections. An isotensor N dibaryon resonance with I (J P ) = 2(1+) produced associatedly with a pion is able to overcome these deficiencies. Such a dibaryon was predicted by Dyson and Xuong [Phys. Rev. Lett. 13, 815 (1964)] and more recently calculated by A. Gal and H. Garcilazo [Nucl. Phys. A 928, 73 (2014)].

Abstract: International audience; During two beam runs in the years 2016 and 2017, the analyzing powers (Ay) for protons and neutrons scattering on CH2, CH, C and Cu targets were measured at the nucleon momentum from 3.0 to 4.2 GeV/c with the ALPOM2 setup at the Nuclotron accelerator. The data for polarized neutron beam are obtained for the first time, thanks to the unique polarized deuteron beam that is presently available up to 13 GeV/c. Earlier, analyzing powers for polarized neutrons had been measured only for thin hydrogen targets. Cross sections and analyzing powers for np, for both elastic scattering and charge exchange are known up to 29 GeV/c. No data existed for thick analyzers. The measurement of the angular dependence of Ay for the neutron is essential to the continuation of the neutron form factor measurements to the highest possible transferred momentum-Q2 at the Jefferson Laboratory. The reaction p+Cu(W), with the detection of a neutron in the forward direction by a hadron calorimeter, can be used for the measurement of the proton polarization at the future NICA collider.

Abstract: New data on the production of single neutral pions in the $ pd\rightarrow {}^{3}\mathrm{He} \pi^{0}$ reaction are presented. For fifteen proton beam momenta between $ p_{p}=1.60$ GeV/c and $ p_{p}=1.74$ GeV/c, differential cross sections are determined over a large fraction of the backward hemisphere. Since the only previous systematic measurements of single-pion production at these energies were made in collinear kinematics, the present work constitutes a significant extension of the current knowledge on this reaction. Even this far above the production threshold, significant changes are found in the behaviour of the angular distributions over small intervals in beam momentum.

Abstract: Exclusive measurements of the quasifree pp→ppπ^{+}π^{-} reaction have been carried out at WASA@COSY by means of pd collisions at T_{p}=1.2 GeV. Total and differential cross sections have been extracted covering the energy region T_{p}=1.08-1.36 GeV, which is the region of N^{*}(1440) and Δ(1232)Δ(1232) resonance excitations. Calculations describing these excitations by t-channel meson exchange are at variance with the measured differential cross sections and underpredict substantially the experimental total cross section. An isotensor ΔN dibaryon resonance with I(J^{P})=2(1^{+}) produced associatedly with a pion is able to overcome these deficiencies.

Abstract: This letter reports a first quantitative analysis of the contribution of higher partial waves in the charge symmetry breaking reaction dd→4Heπ0 using the WASA-at-COSY detector setup at an excess energy of Q=60MeV. The determined differential cross section can be parametrized as dσ/dΩ=a+bcos2⁡θ⁎, where θ⁎ is the production angle of the pion in the center-of-mass coordinate system, and the results for the parameters are a=(1.55±0.46(stat)+0.32−0.8(syst))pb/sr and b=(13.1±2.1(stat)−2.7+1.0(syst))pb/sr. The data are compatible with vanishing p-waves and a sizable d-wave contribution. This finding should strongly constrain the contribution of the Δ isobar to the dd→4Heπ0 reaction and is, therefore, crucial for a quantitative understanding of quark mass effects in nuclear production reactions.

Abstract: New data on both total and differential cross sections of the production of η mesons in proton–deuteron fusion to He3η in the excess energy region 13.6MeV≤Qη≤80.9MeV are presented. These data have been obtained with the WASA-at-COSY detector setup located at the Forschungszentrum Jülich, using a proton beam at 15 different beam momenta between pp=1.60GeV/c and pp=1.74GeV/c. While significant structure of the total cross section is observed in the energy region 20MeV≲Qη≲60MeV, a previously reported sharp variation around Qη≈50MeV cannot be confirmed. Angular distributions show the typical forward-peaking that was noted earlier. For the first time, it is possible to study the development of these angular distributions with rising excess energy over a wide interval.

Abstract: Taking advantage of the high acceptance and axial symmetry of the WASA-at-COSY detector, and the high degree of the polarized proton beam of COSY, the reaction pp{\to} pp{\eta} has been measured close to threshold to explore the analyzing power Ay. The angular distribution of Ay is determined with the precision improved by more than one order of magnitude with respect to previous results allowing a first accurate comparison with theoretical predictions. The determined analyzing power is consistent with zero for an excess energy of Q = 15 MeV signaling s wave production with no evidence for higher partial waves. At Q = 72 MeV the data reveals strong interference of P s and P p partial waves and cancellation of (P p) and Ss*Sd contributions. These results rule out the presently available theoretical predictions for the production mechanism of the {\eta} meson., Comment: Accepted for publication in Phys. Rev. Lett

Abstract: The WASA-at-COSY experiment has collected $3\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{7}$ events with $\ensuremath{\eta}$ mesons produced via the reaction $pd\ensuremath{\rightarrow}^{3}\mathrm{He}\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}\ensuremath{\eta}$ at $\mathrm{T}=1.0\phantom{\rule{4pt}{0ex}}\mathrm{GeV}$. Using this data set, we evaluate the branching ratios of the decays $\ensuremath{\eta}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\gamma}$, $\ensuremath{\eta}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\gamma}$, $\ensuremath{\eta}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$, and $\ensuremath{\eta}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}{e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$. The branching ratios are normalized to the $\ensuremath{\eta}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$ decay. In addition an upper limit on a $CP$-violating asymmetry in $\ensuremath{\eta}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ is extracted.

Abstract: The presently world largest data sample for π 0 → γ e + e − decays studies containing nearly 5 × 10 5 events was collected using the WASA detector at COSY. A search for a dark photon U produced in the π 0 → γ U → γ e + e − decay from the p p → p p π 0 reaction was carried out. An upper limit on the square of the U − γ mixing strength parameter ϵ 2 of 5 × 10 − 6 at 90% CL was obtained for the mass range 20 MeV M U 100 MeV . This result together with other recent experimental limits significantly reduces the M U vs. ϵ 2 parameter space which could explain the presently seen deviation between the Standard Model prediction and the direct measurement of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon.

Abstract: In the framework of the ALPOM II experiment, we compare the figure of Merit of two processes for the neutron analyzing power measurement in the reactions n→+p→n→+p$\vec n + p \to \vec n + p$ and n→+p→p+n→$\vec n + p \to p + \vec n$ in the beam momentum range from 1 to 6 GeV. Based on a pole model calculation for the cross sections and existing data for analyzing powers, this study suggests that for neutron momentum larger than 3 GeV, the process of n→+p→p+n→$\vec n + p \to p + \vec n$ is more effective for polarimetry.

Abstract: An accurate data base for the analyzing power of thick CH2 analyzers for high energy protons has been at the basis of several research efforts in a number of laboratories. Starting in the late eighties such data were collected at SATURNE in Saclay, and with the Synchrophasotron in Dubna, and led to an extensive program of study of polarization phenomena in pd interaction, either backward elastic scattering or breakup [1–6]. At about the same time it became evident that measuring polarization observables in elastic ep was going to be the best approach to determine the form factors of the proton, GEp and GMp, as had been predicted by Akhiezer and Rekalo [7].

Abstract: We have measured inclusive data on K + -meson production in pp collisions at COSY Julich close to the hyperon production threshold and determined the hyperon–nucleon invariant mass spectra. The spectra were decomposed into three parts: Λp, Σ 0 p and Σ + n . The cross section for the Σ + n channel was found to be much smaller than a previous measurement in that excess energy region. The data together with previous results at higher energies are compatible with a phase space dependence.

Abstract: The reaction p p → K + + ( Λ p ) was measured at T p = 1.953 GeV and Θ = 0 ° with a high missing mass resolution in order to study the Λp final state interaction. The large final state enhancement near the Λp threshold can be described using the standard Jost-function approach. The singlet and triplet scattering lengths and effective ranges are deduced by fitting simultaneously the Λp invariant mass spectrum and the total cross section data of the free Λp scattering.

Abstract: The angular distributions of the unpolarised differential cross section and tensor analysing power $A_{xx}$ of the $\vec{d}d\to\alpha \eta$ reaction have been measured at an excess energy of 16.6 MeV. The ambiguities in the partial-wave description of these data are made explicit by using the invariant amplitude decomposition. This allows the magnitude of the s-wave amplitude to be extracted and compared with results published at lower energies. In this way, firmer bounds could be obtained on the scattering length of the $\eta \alpha$ system. The results do not, however, unambiguously prove the existence of a quasi-bound $\eta \alpha$ state.

Abstract: The extracted s-wave scattering amplitude from both the polarized and unpolarized d + d → 4He + η reaction at 2385.5 MeV/c allowed to determine the scattering length which fulfills the requirements for bound η. In the p + 27Al → 3He + p + π- + X reaction studied at recoil free kinematics the η meson is produced almost at rest and so it can be bound with enhanced probability. This state proceeds via N*(1535) resonance and the decay products proton and pion emitted into opposite direction are detected in concidence with 3He produced at zero degree. Under these conditions some hints for bound state can be observed with an upper limit of the cross section of ≈ 0.5 nb.

Abstract: þ ðLpÞ K þ =pþ separation abstract A new threshold Cherenkov detector has been built for the detection of charged pions in the focal plane of a magnetic spectrograph. Silica aerogel with refractive index of n ¼ 1:05 is applied as a radiator. The detector exhibits a very high detection efficiency for pions with momenta X900 MeV=c. Using two Cherenkov detectors in series a very high pion suppression factor of 10 5 was achieved.

Abstract: An experiment to search for the bound state of η meson in nuclei has been performed at COSY, Juelich using the ENSTAR detector and Big Karl magnetic spectrometer. Reaction (p,3 He ) on 27 Al target has been used to search for the η-mesic nucleus 25 Mg η in the missing mass distribution from the measured 3 He particles. A preliminary figure of 1.5 nb for the upper limit of the formation cross section of η-nucleus bound state has been determined.

Abstract: International audience; The reaction p + CH(2)→ forward charge particle + X is used for this aim traditionally. Analyzing power of this reaction falls off as 1/p, where p is the laboratory momentum. At the proton momenta of order 8 GeV/c, which are expected at the JLab experiment, the low analyzing power creates problems for off-line analysis of data. On the other hand, it is well known that the reaction p+p → p+p has the much more analyzing power. So, the calorimeter is predestinated for suppression of inelastic events in this reaction. In the report it is shown that the problem is solved quite well.

Abstract: We report a new measurement of analyzing powers for the reaction p ⇒ + CH 2 → one charged particle +X, at proton momenta of 1.75, 3.8, 4.5 and 5.3 GeV / c . These results extend the existing data basis, necessary for proton polarimetry at intermediate energy, and confirm the feasibility of a large acceptance polarimeter based on this process. Particular attention was devoted to the investigation of the optimal target thickness and of the useful angular range. The experiment is performed at the accelerator complex of the JINR-VBLHE (Dubna).

Abstract: We performed a series of experiments employing the two pion production reactions p + d → 3 He + π 0 and p + d → 3 H + π + . The two isopin related reactions differ by a Clebsch Gordan coefficient of 2. We searched for deviations in this ratio in complete angular distributions in the range of the Δ excitation as well as in the vicinity of the η production threshold.

Abstract: An estimation of the spin-dependent part of the np↦pn charge exchange amplitude was made on the basis of dp↦(pp)n data, taken at 1.67 GeV/c per nucleon in a full solid-angle arrangement. The np↦pn amplitude turned out to be entirely spin-dependent. This result shows new possibilities for experiments using polarized deuteron beams and polarized proton targets.

Abstract: Rich sets of high precision cross sections, vector and tensor analyzing powers for the [Formula: see text] breakup reaction were measured at 130 and 100 MeV beam energy with the use of detection systems covering large parts of the phase space. The cross section data allowed to establish evidences for three-nucleon force contributions and to confirm predictions of sizable effect of the Coulomb force in the breakup reaction. Analyzing power data are generally quite well described by theoretical predictions even with pure nucleon-nucleon interactions. However, in some regions discrepancies has been observed for tensor analyzing powers at 130 MeV.
