In order to improve classification accuracy and lower future computation and data collecting costs, feature selection is the process of choosing the most crucial features from a group of attributes and removing the less crucial or redundant ones. To narrow down the features that need to be analyzed, a variety of feature selection procedures have been detailed in published publications. Chi-Square (CS), IG, Relief, GR, Symmetrical Uncertainty (SU), and MI are six alternative feature selection methods used in this study. The provided dataset is aggregated using four rank aggregation strategies: "rank aggregation," "Borda Count (BC) methodology," "score and rank combination," and "unified feature scoring" based on the outcomes of the six feature selection method (UFS). These four procedures by themselves were unable to generate a clear selection rank for the characteristic. To produce different ranks of traits, this ensemble of aggregating ranks is carried out. For this, the bagging method of majority voting was applied.

To evaluate the antibiotic resistance pattern, clinical profile and predictors for adverse outcomes in children hospitalized due to staphylococcal infection; and the frequency of nasal and axillary carrier states in these children.This descriptive study enrolled 100 symptomatic children (aged 1 month - 12 years) in whom S. aureus was isolated from cultures of blood, pus or cerebrospinal fluid. All samples were processed as per the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) standards. Antimicrobial susceptibility was tested using disc diffusion method; minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) for vancomycin was measured using E strips. Predictors for poor recovery were determined by univariate and multivariable logistic regression analysis.Skin and soft tissue infections were the most common (47%) followed by respiratory infections (37%). Methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) was detected in 62%, out of which 63% (39/62) were multi-drug resistant. Carrier state was present in 49% (93% MRSA); 80% were axillary carriers. High MIC (1 µg/mL) for vancomycin was seen in 65% of patients, and was the only factor associated with poor recovery [aOR (95%CI) 5.3 (1.6-18.5); P=0.008] on multivariable logistic regression analysis.MRSA is the predominant staphylococcal strain in severe staphylococcal infections requiring hospitalization, and majority of them are multidrug resistant. High MIC to vancomycin among S. aureus is an emerging concern.

Considering the significance of Chrysomya megacephala (F.) (Diptera: Calliphoridae) and their larval instars in forensic-entomological investigations, a culture of C. megacephala was established and morphological features of second and third larval instars were studied under a compound microscope. To validate the species’ morphological identification, sequencing of the ‘standard barcode region’ (658 base pairs of mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit I gene) was performed and this sequence was subjected to BLAST analysis using the NCBI database which acknowledged it as Chrysomya megacephala with 99.39% identity with sequence of same species collected from Maharashtra, India. The phylogenetic analysis congregated Jaipur population separately than other samples from different regions of India, however, not much variations were recorded. This is the maiden report of molecular identification of C. megacephala from Rajasthan.

Feature selection is a technique of lowering computation and data collecting costs and rejecting the less significant or redundant factors/variable which in turn may also increase the efficiency of machine learning algorithms. One of the often-used method of feature selection for categorical data is Chi-Square method which is based on certain assumptions. Defilement of assumptions has an impact on the computed p-values which are surrogate to importance of the features. The main purpose of this study is to identify the impact of pre-processing of data keeping in view the assumptions of Chi-Square on raking of features. A secondary objective is to see how in-built sub-routines of computer languages such as Python or R are incorporating the assumptions of Chi-Square. Based on empirical evidence it was found that it is essential to pre-process the data to fulfill the assumptions of chi-square before subjecting it to analysis using either R or Python, or any other application available on web or otherwise.

Schiff's bases are one of the important classes of the ligands, which are obtained by the condensation of amine and aromatic aldehyde. The metal complexes of Schiff's bases are widely considered because they show excellent biological activities. Such as antimicrobial, antitumor, antibacterial, and anti-fungal properties. The present studies deal with synthesis and characterization of Schiff's base transition metal complexes synthesized from general formula (ML) M=Co(II) and Cu(II); L = Schiff's base ligand derived from hydroxy trizene and aromatic aldehyde. The Synthesized complexes were characterized by physical and spectral analysis such as FTIR, 1HNMR, and XRD. They were also tested in vitro biological activities. The Schiff base behaves as a bidentate ligand with O and N donors and binds to metal ions via hydroxy group oxygen and azomethane nitrogen. The Schiff's base ligands and Metal complexes' structure was confirmed by modern instrumental techniques viz, FTIR and 1HNMR. The in-vitro antibacterial studies were carried out against S. aureus, E. coli, and P. Aeruginosa and anti-fungal activities C.albicans, A. clavatus. The result shows that the complexes have excellent biological activities.

Caesarean delivery is common and can cause severe postoperative pain but injection of local anaesthetic at various sites for regional blocks or local anaesthetic infiltration may reduce this. We aimed to compare and rank these sites. We searched PubMed, Google Scholar, EMBASE and CENTRAL to June 2021 for randomised controlled trials and performed a random-effects Bayesian model network meta-analysis. The primary outcome was dose of parenteral morphine equivalents in the first 24 postoperative hours. We used surface under cumulative ranking probabilities to order techniques. We analysed 114 trials (8730 participants). The ordered mean (95% credible interval) reduction in morphine equivalents, from 34 mg with placebo, were as follows: ilio-inguinal 15 (1-32) mg; ilio-inguinal-iliohypogastric 13 (6-19) mg; transversalis fascia 11 (4-26) mg; erector spinae 11 (10-32); transverse abdominis 9 (4-13) mg; wound catheter infusion 8 (2-15) mg; quadratus lumborum 8 (1-15) mg; wound infiltration 8 (2-13) mg; and no intervention -4 (-10 to 2) mg. Ordered efficacies for injection sites were different for other relevant outcomes, including pain (to 4-6 h and to 24 h) and time to rescue analgesia: there was no single preferred route of injection. The ordered mean (95% credible interval) reduction in dynamic pain scores (0-10 scale) at 24 h compared with placebo were as follows: wound infusion 1.2 (0.2-2.1); erector spinae 1.3 (-0.5 to 3.1); quadratus lumborum 1.0 (0.1-1.8); ilio-inguinal-iliohypogastric 0.6 (-0.5 to 1.8); transverse abdominis 0.6 (-0.1 to 1.2); wound infiltration 0.5 (-0.3 to 1.3); transversalis fascia -0.8 (-3.4 to 1.9); ilio-inguinal -0.9 (-3.6 to 1.7); and no intervention -0.8 (-1.8 to 0.2). We categorised our confidence in effect sizes as low or very low.

SummaryPlasticity between cell lineages is a fundamental but poorly understood property of regenerative tissues. In the gut tube, small intestine absorbs nutrients whereas colon absorbs electrolytes. In a striking display of inherent plasticity, adult colonic mucosa lacking the chromatin factor SATB2 is converted to small intestine. Using proteomics and CRISPR-Cas9 screen, we identified MTA2 as a crucial component of the molecular machinery that, together with SATB2, restrain colonic plasticity. MTA2 loss in adult mouse colon activated lipid absorptive genes and functional lipid uptake. Mechanistically, MTA2 co-binds with HNF4A, an activating pan-intestine transcription factor (TF), on colonic chromatin. MTA2 loss leads to HNF4A release from colonic and gain on small intestinal chromatin. SATB2 similarly restrains colonic plasticity through a HNF4A-dependent mechanism. Our study provides a generalizable model of lineage plasticity in which broadly-expressed TFs are retained on tissue-specific enhancers to maintain cell identity and prevent activation of alternative lineages; their release unleashes plasticity.

Vigna is a large, pan-tropic and highly variable group of the legumes family which is known for its > 10 cultivated species having significant commercial value for their nutritious grains and multifarious uses. The wild vignas are considered a reservoir of numerous useful traits which can be deployed for introgression of resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses, seed quality and enhanced survival capability in extreme environments. Nonetheless, for their effective utilization through introgression breeding information on their genetic diversity, population structure and crossability is imperative. Keeping this in view, the present experiment was undertaken with 119 accessions including 99 wild Vigna accessions belonging to 19 species and 18 cultivated genotypes of Vigna and 2 of Phaseolus. Total 102 polymorphic SSRs were deployed to characterize the material at molecular level which produced 1758 alleles. The genotypes were grouped into four major clusters which were further sub-divided in nine sub-clusters. Interestingly, all cultivated species shared a single cluster while no such similarities were observed for the wild accessions as these were distributed in different groups of sub-clusters. The co-dominant allelic data of 114 accessions were then utilized for obtaining status of the accessions and their hybrid forms. The model-based population structure analysis categorized 114 accessions of Vigna into 6 genetically distinct sub-populations (K = 6) following admixture-model based simulation with varying levels of admixture. 91 (79.82%) accessions resembled their hierarchy and 23 (20.18%) accessions were observed as the admixture forms. Maximum number of accessions (25) were grouped in sub-population (SP) 6 and the least accessions were grouped in SP3 and SP5 (11 each). The population genetic structure, therefore, supported genetic diversity analysis and provided an insight into the genetic lineage of these species which will help in effective use of germplasm for development of cultivars following selective prebreeding activities.

Background: India has the world’s largest load of cervical malignancy. A lot of it can be attributed to lack of cervical cancer screening awareness among the general population. The Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) are grass root workers who have good reach in the remote areas, where health care facilities are lacking. Training these ASHAs may increase the general awareness about cervical cancer screening. The aim of the study was to train ASHA workers via lectures and question answer sessions and assess the training with pre and post tests. Methods: We organized two training programs of 500 ASHA workers in two tertiary care hospitals with aim of improving their knowledge and attitude about cervical cancer screening which will eventually improve their practice of training women in general population. It comprised of five lectures in language they understand, slogans, posters, question answer session etc. A test comprising of 17 questions was conducted before and after session to check their knowledge and attitude. Results: There was an overall improvement of 35% in knowledge of the ASHAs i.e. 48% answers were correct in pre-test and 78% were correct in post-test. Questions were pertaining to symptomatology, risk factors, screening methods, their utility and prerequisites of performing the screening tests, when and how often to repeat. Improvement was seen in all the areas. There was improvement in attitude too and most of them wanted themselves (98%), their relatives (100%) and the woman within their area (98%) to be screened for cancer cervix. Conclusion: It was a small initiative and successful result was obtained after the training session of ASHAs. These grass root workers may act as key link of awareness for cervical cancer prevention. They live in same community as the client and therefore, have better repo and communication as compared to medical personnel. Though, this study showed improved knowledge and motivation in ASHAs yet the impact on general population needs further evaluation.

Poster session 3, September 23, 2022, 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM Objective To evaluate the diagnostic performance of Candida colonization index and serum Candida mannan antigen predicting candidemia in febrile episodes of pediatric lymphoreticular malignancies Methods It was a prospective observational study done for 18 months, from November 2018 to April 2020 at the pediatric oncology unit of a multispecialty tertiary care center. Based on our patient load, duration of the proposed study, and available resources, a sample size of 49 (n = 49) was decided and 100 febrile episodes in children with lymphoreticular malignancy were studied. Children below 12 years, receiving chemotherapy for hematological malignancy having oral or axillary temperature ˃38.3°C for ˃1 h were included in this study. Children receiving the antifungal treatment in last 7 days were excluded from the study. Blood collected on day1 and day4 was cultured in BACTEC-9120. For colonization, swabs and samples were collected and cultured on SDA on day1, day4, and day8. All Candida isolates were subcultured on SDA and subjected to Gram's stain, germ tube test followed by Microscan identification. DNA sequencing followed by phylogenetic analysis was done for all the isolates of Candida recovered from blood. Antifungal susceptibility of yeast stains was done. Serum collected on day1 was used for C. mannan antigen detection using ELISA system. Results Prevalence of candidemia was 5%. Non-albicans Candida spp were isolated from blood cultures on day 4. Candida colonization decreased from day1 to day8. Colonization index (CI) day1 showed 80% sensitivity 98.9% specificity, and 98.9% negative predictive value. Significant colonization (CI ≥0.5) was seen in a larger proportion of cases that developed candidemia. There was a significant association of Candida colonization (CI ≥0.5) with occurrence of candidemia on day1 and day4. A total of 4 (80%) of candidemia episodes were positive for serum mannan antigen while 1 (20%) was negative. Mannan antigen was detected earlier with 80% sensitivity, 92.6% specificity, and 98.9% negative predictive value. All Candida isolates were sensitive to fluconazole, amphotericin-B, and caspofungin. Receiver operator characteristic curves for diagnostic performance of various parameters in predicting candidemia show the following trends: Conclusion The CI can predict candidemia but the threshold value needs to be explored in pediatric patients with lymphoreticular malignancies. Mannan antigen detection gives early results with a high negative predictive value.

Gram pod borer (H. armigera) and tobacco caterpillar (S. litura) causes huge economical losses in different crops, identifying a novel and safe biological origin insecticides for their management is always being an important approach. Actinobacteria has significance for their bioactive compounds production and diverse ecological functions. However, little was known for antilarval traits of actinobacteria inhabiting upper gangetic agro-climatic zone of India, so, a study was conducted to explore, isolate and characterize the antilarval actinobacteria. Morphological characters and 16S rRNA gene sequence revealed that isolated actinobacteria strains were belonged to Streptomyces spp., Amycolatopsis spp., Nocardiopsis spp., Saccharopolyspora spp. genera, of which Streptomyces spp. was dominant genera. Streptomyces puniceus IIPR:TB01:01 and Streptomyces badius IIPR:KR04:01 strains (EtoAc extracts) exhibited 78% and 81% larval mortality against H. armigera and S. litura, respectively, were at par with insecticides (Emamectin benzoate 5G and Spinosad 45SC) treatments, indicating those are potential insecticidal strains. Juvenometric activity (extended larval duration and larval-pupal intermediates) of actinobacteria extract was noticed in H. armigera (up to 25 days) and S. litura (up to 28 days) compared to control (15–16 days). Potential actinobacteria strains also witnessed neurotoxic effect (blackening of larva) and lower survival probabilities in H. armigera and S. litura larvae. This study identified phenomena like neurotoxicity and juvenile hormone activity of actinobacterial extract against H. armigera and S. litura. The actinobacteria strains isolated in this study were new and their antilatval potential was not studied earlier, thus current findings advance the isolation and purification of antilarval compounds from aforesaid potential strains.

The Ayurveda is the traditional system of medicine which is been used by Indian's. The science of life is the basic meaning of the word Ayurveda. The method of practicing had been a trusted and tested method in treating the illness. Abhrak Bhasma, an amorphous powder drug, is prepared by treating biotite (mica) with the juices of a number of reconstituent plants that make it a powerful cellular regenerator. It is commonly used ayurvedic drug against many diseases including hepatitis (hepatoprotective). It is also used as nervine tonic and is widely used in respiratory tract infections and megaloblastic anemia. It contains iron, magnesium, potassium, calcium and aluminium in trace amounts. It also contains silicates of iron, magnesium and aluminium.In this study a total of 30 adult albino Wistar rats of approximately 4 months age (approx. 150-200 gms) of either sex selected randomly to see the effect of Abhrak bhasm, an ayurvedic drug on hematological and biochemical prole of Wistar rats.The rats were weighed, marked and divided into 5 groups each consisting of six animals. In normal control group(Group E), no drug was administered and in rest of the four treated groups(Group-A,B,C,D), Abhrak bhasm @ 36 mg/kg B.wt. was administered orally once in each rat.All blood samples were collected from jugular veins by using 30 gauze needle in EDTA (Ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid) vials and in plain vials for hematological and biochemical investigations respectively at 0.5 hour,2 hours, 6 hours, 24 hours and at the end of study in Groups A, B, C, D and E respectively.A signicant increase in Neutrophils percentage and a signicant decrease in Lymphocytes percentage were observed in both group B and group C i.e. at 2 hours and 6 hours of drug administration respectively, as compared to control group. In two cases, in group B and group C i.e.at 2 hours and 6 hours of Abhrak bhasm drug administration, hypersegmented neutrophils were seen in blood smear. In three cases, two in group B and one in group D i.e. at 2 hours and 24 hours of drug administration, polychromasia were seen. The ndings in the present study indicate the erythropoeisis stimulant action and also a signicant phagocytic activity i.e. immunomodulatory activity of Sahastraputi Abhrak Bhasma drug. It consolidated the fact that Sahastraputi Abhrak Bhasma is highly regarded as Rasayan, thus leading to scope for exploring the mechanism of its activity through more animal and clinical studies.

Abhrak bhasma (AB) is a type of bhasma prepared from repeated incineration of mineral mica with decoctions of about 72 herbs. The particle size of Abhrak bhasm has been shown to be in the range of 29-88 nanometers and Fe, Ca, Si, Mg and K are found to be as major constituent. Many drugs developed to treat Central Nervous System (CNS) disorders are unable to reach the brain parenchyma in therapeutically relevant concentrations. The blood brain barrier protects brain parenchyma from the uctuation of plasma composition, from pathogenic agents and maintains homeostasis of the brain parenchyma by restricting non-specic ux of ions, peptides, proteins and even cells into and out the brain. Immunohistochemistry is being widely employed as a tool for biological studies. This study is conducted to examine the change in the continuity of Blood brain barrier by using immunohistochemistry, once Abhrak bhasm drug is given in experimental animal and also to examine the histology of organs. In this study a total of 30 adult albino Wistar rats of approximately 4 months age (approx. 150-200 gms) of either sex selected randomly to see the effect of Abhrak bhasm, an ayurvedic drug on Wistar rats. The rats were weighed, marked and divided into 5 groups each consisting of six animals. In normal control group (Group E), no drug was administered and in rest of the four treated groups (Group-A,B,C,D), Abhrak bhasm @ 36 mg/kg B.wt. was administered orally once in each rat. Brain, liver, kidneys,spleen and blood samples were collected in 10% formalin solution after euthanizing the rats at 0.5,2,6 & 12 hours of Abhrak bhasma drug intervention. The alterations in any of the biochemical parameters are within the tolerable limits of liver and kidney since the dose of abhrak bhasm did not affect liver and kidneys. In the present study, the increase in ALP level may be the result of alterations in metabolisms that occurred without any signicant alteration in histology of liver. After applying the immunohistochemistry with the research markers GFAP, CD 34, S 100, GLUT-1 and RECA-1 on the rats in groups A,B,C and D, there was no change in the intensity of immunohistochemistry, with respect to control. While on applying the Occludin, the intensity of immunohistochemistry was reduced in all the treatment groups as compared to the control group. On the basis of ndings of present study it can be concluded that the therapeutic dose of Abhrak bhasma causes changes at the level of tight junctions present in blood brain barrier in rats which is shown by immunohistochemistry with occludin research marker. There is no toxic effect of drug on different organs of rats as no signicant changes in histology of organs are seen. More studies need to be done to check the permeability of blood brain barrier for Abhrak bhasma drug, like calculating its concentration in brain tissues and other vital organs of rat.

A pest scout data in pigeonpea (leaf webber, plume moth, pod borer) and chickpea (pod borer) crops including daily insect pest counts for three successive seasons (2015/16—2017/18) at western and eastern plateau hills (agro-climatic zones) of India was analysed for spatio-temporal dynamics. Longer infestation (different crop phenological growth stages) behaviour of leaf webber and pod borer in pigeonpea and chickpea, respectively influenced their increased mean counts (incidence). Weekly mean counts of leaf webber, plume moth and pod borer in both the crops varied significantly between the seasons. Linear incremental change in mean counts of leaf webber and pod borer on pigeonpea and chickpea, respectively was observed across the seasons (inter-seasonal). Intra-seasonal built-up of plume moth (pigeonpea) and pod borer (pigeonpea and chickpea) mean counts was also noticed. On pigeonpea, leaf webber and plume moth mean counts never reached an economic threshold level (3 larvae/plant), but crossed the advisory level (1.5 larvae/plant). It was observed that there was incremental rise in pod borer mean counts and crossing economic threshold level over seasons in chickpea (1 larvae/m row length), while it was not the case in pigeonpea (1 larvae/ plant). Furthermore, survival and management strategies of leaf webber, plume moth and pod borer in pigeonpea and pod borer in chickpea were discussed.

Construction of any excavation adds to the re-distribution of stresses around abutment and crown. This is stabilised by providing extra reinforcement. When a large underground cavern is excavated, stress re-distribution around abutment is obvious. Underground powerhouse cavern of Tala Hydropower Plant with adverse geological setting is one such cavern which encountered failure of a number of rock-bolts and series of other types of rockmass failure during its construction. It puts a question mark on the long-term stability of this powerhouse. To evaluate the dynamic stability of the rockmass (against induced stresses) around this powerhouse, microseismic monitoring network was installed. Microseismic data has been analysed in terms of static and dynamic parameters to assess the overall cavern stability. Spatio-temporal analysis of microseismic events could identify the potential risk zones which has significant cluster of events. To assess the overall stability due to these induced events, the ratio of transverse wave and longitudinal wave energy of these events was used as an index. It is found that cluster of events had shear failure. These events are basically of small non-damaging type and aid in releasing the built-up induced stresses. The slope of log–log plot of energy versus moment has a very high value. This indicates a stiffer rockmass which adds to its capability to absorb the induced stresses and aid to the overall stability of the region. Analysis reveals that no major seismic events are expected around this rockmass cavern and there is no dynamically unstable region against induced stresses.
