The paper considers the features of the unique scientific facilities network that is being formed within the framework of the national project “Science”. Such projects are a complex enterprise that requires a specific management apparatus and appropriate information and legal support. The prospects of implementing the best practices in the activities of high-flux research nuclear reactor PIK are considered. In particular, the mechanism of protection of the created objects of intellectual property, possible ways of evaluation, examination and commercialization of the results of scientific research are discussed. The possibility of using the mechanism of regulatory sandboxes for specific financial products arising as a result of the activities of a megascience class installation (for example, a mechanism for insuring the results of production within the framework of experiments, a procedure for protecting intellectual rights) is discussed. It is shown that experimental legal regimes are widely used in world practice and are a catalyst for the development and implementation of innovations. It is proposed to focus not only on the experience of advanced countries (such as EU, and the USA), but also on the approaches of developing countries that are creating their own scientific infrastructure (Brazil, Argentina). Regulatory sandbox implementation proposals in the field of megascience facilities regulation are formulated. The idea of the need to create exclusively unique products and abandon all options for mass production is expressed, the latter involves considering megascience facilities as unique not only in the scientific sense, but also in the field of legal regulation.

Building on the successful experience in operating the DarkSide-50 detector, the DarkSide Collaboration is going to construct DarkSide-20k, a direct WIMP search detector using a two-phase Liquid Argon Time Projection Chamber (LAr TPC) with an active (fiducial) mass of 23 t (20 t). This paper describes a preliminary design for the experiment, in which the DarkSide-20k LAr TPC is deployed within a shield/veto with a spherical Liquid Scintillator Veto (LSV) inside a cylindrical Water Cherenkov Veto (WCV). This preliminary design provides a baseline for the experiment to achieve its physics goals, while further development work will lead to the final optimization of the detector parameters and an eventual technical design. Operation of DarkSide-50 demonstrated a major reduction in the dominant 39Ar background when using argon extracted from an underground source, before applying pulse shape analysis. Data from DarkSide-50, in combination with MC simulation and analytical modeling, shows that a rejection factor for discrimination between electron and nuclear recoils of $>3 \times 10^{9}$ is achievable. This, along with the use of the veto system and utilizing silicon photomultipliers in the LAr TPC, are the keys to unlocking the path to large LAr TPC detector masses, while maintaining an experiment in which less than $< 0.1$ events (other than $\nu$ -induced nuclear recoils) is expected to occur within the WIMP search region during the planned exposure. DarkSide-20k will have ultra-low backgrounds than can be measured in situ, giving sensitivity to WIMP-nucleon cross sections of $1.2 \times 10^{-47}$ cm2 ( $1.1 \times 10^{-46}$ cm2) for WIMPs of 1 TeV/c2 (10 TeV/c2) mass, to be achieved during a 5 yr run producing an exposure of 100 t yr free from any instrumental background.

A two-phase emission detector containing 5 kg of liquid Xe is installed at the horizontal experimental channel of the research nuclear reactor IRT MEPhI to measure the liquid Xe response to nuclei recoils with kinetic energies below 1 keV. Preliminary tests have demonstrated that $ \geq 15~\mu\hbox{s}$ electron lifetime in liquid Xe and $\sim 10$ photoelectrons single ionization electron signal are achieved. These parameters are sufficient to detect and identify events at the single electron level.

International audience; We report on the cryogenic characterization of Red Green Blue - High Density (RGB-HD) SiPMs developed at Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK) as part of the DarkSide program of dark matter searches with liquid argon time projection chambers. A cryogenic setup was used to operate the SiPMs at varying temperatures and a custom data acquisition system and analysis software were used to precisely characterize the primary dark noise, the correlated noise, and the gain of the devices. We demonstrate that FBK RGB-HD SiPMs with low quenching resistance (RGB-HD-LRq) can be operated from 40 K to 300 K with gains in the range 10(5) to 10(6) and noise rates at a level of around 1 Hz/mm(2).

The article offers a model of formation of the integrity of the thinking and practice of employees in industries of energy efficiency and energy conservation. The model is based on a holistic approach of completics of Professor M. M. Telemtaev. The complex of employee competencies is considered as a compound model of their production activities, which consists of three parts. Model of interaction of employee with professional environment for energy efficiency and energy saving industries contains models of requirements to an employee, as well as the model of requirement of an employee to energy efficiency and conservation industries. Application of the results obtained by the authors allows to construct an integrated system of competence of all categories workers in the field of energy efficiency and energy conservation.

In order to create, ensure the functioning and effective use of the megascience-project, it is necessary to have a holistic view of the concept of “megascience”, the basic processes and constraints that accompany this activity and the project life cycle. For this purpose an analysis of the life cycles of various megaprojects was carried out, and as a result of the analysis, the main stages characteristic of all the projects reviewed were identified. Also considered are approaches to the implementation of these stages and a list of possible restrictions and risks is defined. Based on the data obtained, a model for creating a megaproject on the territory of the Russian Federation is proposed, in particular, it is planned to apply the obtained result in the process of creating the International Center for Neutron Research based on the PIK high-flux research reactor. The reported study was funded by RFBR according to the research project № 18-29-15015.

"The DarkSide staged program utilizes a two-phase time projection chamber (TPC) with liquid argon as the target material for the scattering of dark matter particles. Efficient background reduction is achieved using low radioactivity underground argon as well as several experimental handles such as pulse shape, ratio of ionization over scintillation signal, 3D event reconstruction, and active neutron and muon vetos. The DarkSide-10 prototype detector has proven high scintillation light yield, which is a particularly important parameter as it sets the energy threshold for the pulse shape discrimination technique. The DarkSide-50 detector system, currently in commissioning phase at the Gran Sasso Underground Laboratory, will reach a sensitivity to dark matter spin-independent scattering cross section of 10(-45) cm(2) within 3 years of operation."

As part of the DarkSide program of direct dark matter searches using liquid argon TPCs, a prototype detector with an active volume containing 10 kg of liquid argon, DarkSide-10, was built and operated underground in the Gran Sasso National Laboratory in Italy. A critically important parameter for such devices is the scintillation light yield, as photon statistics limits the rejection of electron-recoil backgrounds by pulse shape discrimination. We have measured the light yield of DarkSide-10 using the readily-identifiable full-absorption peaks from gamma ray sources combined with single-photoelectron calibrations using low-occupancy laser pulses. For gamma lines of energies in the range 122-1275 keV, we get consistent light yields averaging 8.887+-0.003(stat)+-0.444(sys) p.e./keVee. With additional purification, the light yield measured at 511 keV increased to 9.142+-0.006(stat) p.e./keVee., 10 pages, 7 figures, Accepted for publication in Astroparticle Physics

We propose to detect and to study neutrino neutral current coherent scattering off atomic nuclei with a two-phase emission detector using liquid xenon as a working medium. Expected signals and backgrounds are calculated for two possible experimental sites: the Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant in the Russian Federation and the Spallation Neutron Source at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the U.S.A. Both sites have advantages as well as limitations. The experiment looks feasible at either location.
