Abstract

Observations and pictures of two snakes, Tachymenis peruviana Wiegmann, 1836, and Tachymenis chilensis(Schlegel, 1837), were taken in the Atacama coastal desert, province of Antofagasta, Chile. Furthermore, in the collection of the Museo Nacional de Historia Natural de Santiago, we found two individuals of T. c. chilensis from Cachapoal and Talcaprovinces. These records represent a northward extension of the known range of T. c. chilensis along the Andean foothillsof more than 180 km.

Abstract

La evaluación participativa de las acciones comunitarias representa una alternativa viable ante la falta general de una cultura de la evaluación en las organizaciones comunitarias.Es una estrategia metodológica que integra la voz de los implicados, no sólo los profesionales, en la toma de decisiones de la evaluación. Abordamos este tipo de evaluación desde la pedagogía social. A través del análisis teórico, se presenta una batería de dimensiones y evidencias de trabajo para los profesionales y agentes sociales que decidan evaluar acciones comunitarias. La batería se basa en los principios teóricos y en las pautas metodológicas de la evaluación participativa., L’avaluació participativa de les accions comunitàries representa una alternativa viable davant la manca general d’una cultura de l’avaluació en les organitzacions comunitàries.És una estratègia metodològica que integra la veu dels implicats, no només els professionals, en la presa de decisions de l’avaluació. Abordem aquest tipus d’avaluació des de la pedagogia social. A través de l’anàlisi teòrica, es presenta una bateria de dimensions ievidències de treball per als professionals i agents socials que decideixin avaluar accions comunitàries. La bateria es basa en els principis teòrics i en les pautes metodològiques de l’avaluació participativa., The participatory evaluation of community actions presents itself as a viable alternative in the context of the prevailing absence of a culture of evaluation in community organizations, as a methodological strategy that integrates the voices of all those involved, and not only the professionals, in the taking of decisions in the matter of evaluation. We approach this type of evaluation from the perspective of social pedagogy, using theoretical analysis to present a series of dimensions and indicators of work for professionals and social agents who set out to evaluate community actions, based on the theoretical principles and the methodological guidelines of participatory evaluation.

Abstract

The chiropteran reproductive parterns in tropical zones have been associated with food seasonality by synchronization between parturition time and the lrighest environmental productivity. In the common vampire ba, (Desmodus rotundus) whose food (catde blood), is widely available year round, reproductive seasonality mus! be absent. In order 10 test (his hypothesis, a natural cave colony in the Salta Province (Argentina), was studied. The vampire bate were captured with a mist let placed al the cave enlrance. Reproductive condition in females (pregnancy, absence of pregnancy or lactation) and in males (abdonrinal or serotal tests) was seasonalty assessed with respect to temperature (surnmer, autom.n, winter, spring) anó hmnidíty (dry and wet seasons). Association between female reproductive condition and seasonality was detected. Tbe proportion of pregnancy and lactation were higher during spring and summer as well as al !he wet season. In males, there was no association between these variables. Although reproduction is continuous througout ¡he year, ir shows a marked seasonality.
