It has been postulated that emotions play essential roles in conflict situations and that excessive expression of emotions or inappropriate display can reduce the capacity to manage conflict. However, there is a lack of research that relates teachers' emotionregulation ability to managing conflict. To bridge this gap, this pilot study aimed to examine the relationships between teachers' emotionregulation ability and conflict management strategies used in the classroom. The sample consisted of 878 teachers (61% women) working in Portuguese schools, which completed an application of Mayer and Salovey's emotional intelligence model and Rahim's model of conflict management. Using the structural equation modeling, findings revealed that the teachers who tend to show a greater ability to regulate emotions use mainly integrating and compromising strategies to manage classroom conflicts more frequently than other strategies. In conclusion, it is necessary to create a curriculum in the pre-service teachers' education programs that includes emotional education, so that they can acquire emotional regulation skills, due to their importance in classroom conflict management.

Background: This study investigates the use of machine learning models, specifically support vector regression (SVR) kernels, to predict team performance and identify potential most valuable players (MVPs) in the 2024 International Cricket Council (ICC) Men's T20 World Cup. Purpose: The primary objective is to evaluate and compare the predictive accuracy of three SVR kernels--radial basis function (RBF), linear, and polynomial (poly)--to identify which model demonstrates superior predictive capabilities in the context of T20 cricket. Materials and Methods: Comprehensive data on the current 15-member squads of each participating team were collected from the official ICC website, including detailed player statistics and team performance metrics. Rigorous data preprocessing, such as deduplication and outlier detection, was performed to ensure dataset accuracy. The data were then split into training and testing sets to assess the performance of the SVR models. The three kernels--RBF, linear, and poly--were evaluated using performance metrics such as mean squared error (MSE), root mean squared error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), and R-squared (R²). Results: The RBF kernel proved to be the most accurate predictor, achieving the lowest MSE (16.43), RMSE (4.05), and MAE (2.91), along with the highest R² (0.856). In contrast, the linear and poly kernels recorded higher error metrics and lower R² values, indicating reduced accuracy. Predictions for potential MVPs identified Glenn Maxwell (Australia) and Andre Russell (West Indies) as standout performers, with ratings of 81.5% and 81.4%, respectively. This study highlights the superior predictive performance of the RBF kernel in the dynamic setting of T20 cricket. Conclusions: The integration of predictive analytics with pedagogical principles in coaching can optimize player development and enhance team performance. This study evaluates the accuracy and repeatability of craniofacial measurements with a 3D light scanner, specifically the EINSTAR scanner, in comparison to traditional caliper measurements for facial anthropometry. Eleven volunteers were assessed by two examiners, one experienced and one inexperienced, who performed direct caliper measurements and indirect measurements using the scanner. Results indicated minimal differences between caliper and scanner results, with overall high accuracy and reliability demonstrated by correlation coefficients. Despite the slightly longer scanning time, the benefits of 3D imaging, including detailed surface mapping and virtual modeling, justify its integration into clinical practice, particularly in maxillofacial surgery and craniofacial assessment. Craniofacial measurements obtained with the EINSTAR scanner showed excellent reliability and accuracy, which qualifies this method for clinical and scientific use. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Problem Statement: Imagery is commonly used to enhance psychological aspects and improve specific skills in sports. However, determining the most effective type of imagery based on varying levels of self-confidence still needs to be explored. Purpose: This research aims to analyze the impact of imagery training and self-confidence on shooting skills in futsal. Methods: A factorial experiment employing a two-way ANOVA design was used to explore two types of imagery perspectives, internal and external, and two levels of self-confidence, high and low. The study involved 44 male senior high school students randomly selected from classes X and XI participating in futsal extracurricular activities (age: 16.76 ± 0.43 years, weight: 64.80 ± 2.84 kg, and height: 167.64 ± 2.54 cm). Participants were divided into four treatment groups for internal and external imagery training based on their level of self-confidence. The imagery training was implemented for ± 4 weeks with a frequency of 3 weekly meetings. Self-confidence data was obtained from questionnaires and shooting skills from the penalty kick test. Then, two-way ANOVA and Tukey's advanced test were used to analyze it (Sig. < 0.05). Result: External imagery training is better than internal imagery for shooting skills in futsal (Sig. < 0.05), where the average is A2 (28.68) > A1 (27.68). A significant interaction between imagery training and self-confidence was also found (Sig. < 0.05). The results of shooting skills in futsal that apply external imagery training are better than internal imagery for participants who have a high level of self-confidence (Sig. < 0.05), where the average is A2B1 (30.45) > A1B1 (28.00). Then, participants who had a low level of self-confidence showed that there was no significant difference between the two imagery exercises applied (Sig. > 0.05). However, the results of shooting skills in futsal will be better if internal imagery training is applied for participants with low levels of self-confidence, where the average is A1B2 (27.36) > A2B2 (26.91). Conclusions: External imagery exercises are more appropriate for participants with high self-confidence, and both imagery exercises can be applied for participants with low self-confidence. The risk of flammable dangerous liquids stored on the industrial premises escaping into the environment in the event of major industrial accidents must be minimized. Such a risk reduction result can be achieved by the use of safety barriers, such as a remediation bund area, which can retain, collect and store the released material. The careful determination of design parameters of this installation is of great importance. Therefore, this study–based on the analyses of applicability of existing guidelines (SPCC and HSNOCOP 47)—will propose a new sizing calculation methodology to design optimal and efficient remediation bund parameters, including the remediation bund wall height and distance between the remediation bund and the storage tank walls. The design parameters are defined by applying Toricelli's theorem and their practical compliance is tested using consequence analysis simulation software ALOHA 5.4.7 covering three possible major accident scenarios. As a result of the newly proposed methodology, the risk of overflow through the remediation bund wall can be excluded and higher effectiveness of the application of firefighting and technical rescue intervention activities can be ensured. The evolution of sports coach education programs on a global scale is a dynamic and ever-improving process. This study aimed to scrutinize the characteristics, overarching development trends, and structure and content of sports coach education programs. The research involved 46 experts, each with a minimum of 8 years of coaching experience across 12 diverse sports, who participated in a comprehensive survey. Information retrieval relied on specialized scientific databases, utilizing keywords such as "coaching," "sport coaches," "program," and "education program." A total of 4539 publications were identified, with 501 selected for inclusion in this research. The study's findings reveal discernible variations in the global practice of training sports coaches, encompassing differences in program structure, content, duration, and qualification evaluation criteria. Despite these differences, a common thread unites sports coaching education programs worldwide, reflecting shared features, structures, and content. The field has matured into a prestigious domain with recognized importance in the social, scientific, and academic spheres. These results offer valuable insights for the development and effective implementation of sports coach training programs, contributing to the ongoing refinement of coaching practices globally.
