In this study, Mann–Kendall (MK), Spearman's rho (SR), and innovative trend analysis with significance test (ITA-ST) are performed on about 53 years of meteorological parameters obtained from 23 meteorological stations located in the lower Tigris–Euphrates basin (LTEB), Türkiye. Finally, sequential Mann–Kendall (SMK) and Cusum tests are applied to detect any abrupt changes in annual time series. Results indicate that MK and SR demonstrate a significant trend in seven of the total annual precipitation series, and ITA-ST captures the existence of a significant trend in 21 of the 23 total annual precipitations. Three methods reveal that there is an increasing trend in both the annual mean temperature and the annual total evapotranspiration (EP). MK, SR, and ITA-ST capture a significant decreasing trend in the 10, 8, and 16 of the 23 annual mean relative humidity (RH) series, respectively. According to the findings, ITA-ST is more sensitive than the classical MK and SR methods. Cusum and SMK tests are detected the start of trend year 21.7 and 8.6% of annual total precipitation, 95.65 and 69.56% of annual mean temperature, 47.82 and 17.4% of total mean RH, and 95.65 and 69.56% of annual total EP time series, respectively. The Cusum test is found to be more sensitive than the SMK test. HIGHLIGHTS The MK, SR, and ITA-ST tests were first used for the relative humidity.; Three different methodologies show that both the temperature and the evapotranspiration are on the rise.; The ITA-ST technique is more sensitive than conventional MK and SR techniques.; MK, SR, and ITA-ST display a significant decreasing trend in the annual mean relative humidity series.;

The difficulty of monitoring hydrometeorological trends remains relevant because of the importance of climate change. In this study, innovative polygon trend analysis (IPTA), new graphical methods, have recently been presented, Mann-Kendall and innovative trend analysis (ITA) with significance tests are employed at monthly and annual hydrometeorological data for Ankara province in Turkey. Finally, sequential Mann-Kendall (SQ-MK), CUSUM, and standard normal homogeneity test (SNHT) are applied to detect any abrupt changes in annual time series. The results indicate that ITA with significance test, IPTA, and MK capture precipitation trends in 83, 94, and 0.2% of all months (3 stations × 12 months), temperature trends in 86, 75, and 22% of all months, relative humidity trends in 80, 80, and 30% of all months, and evapotranspiration series in 91, 80, and 47% of all months. These findings suggest that the ITA with significance test and IPTA are more sensitive than the MK test, with the precipitation series being the most sensitive and the evapotranspiration series being the least sensitive. SQ-MK, CUSUM, and SNHT tests on station 17664 were successful in detecting a change in annual evapotranspiration in 2005. The annual total evaporation series have been rising since 2005, according to the SQ-MK test. HIGHLIGHTS Graphical and traditional trend tests were utilized at monthly and annual hydrometeorological data in the context of climate change.; Graphical tests are most sensitive than the traditional test with the precipitation series being the most sensitive.; Evaporation in February, July, and September indicate an increasing trend, and maximum temperature in February and July observed an increasing trend.;

Abstract Soil moisture predictability on seasonal to decadal (S2D) continuum timescales over North America is examined from the Community Earth System Modeling (CESM) experiments. The effects of ocean and land initializations are disentangled using two large ensemble datasets—initialized and uninitialized experiments from the CESM. We find that soil moisture has significant predictability on S2D timescales despite limited predictability in precipitation. On sub-seasonal to seasonal timescales, precipitation variability is an order of magnitude greater than soil moisture, suggesting land surface processes, including soil moisture memory, reemergence, land–atmosphere interactions, transform a less predictable precipitation signal into a more predictable soil moisture signal.

Bu yazıda 17-18 Ekim 2024 tarihlerinde Özbekistan’ın Tirmiz şehrinde Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt Üniversitesi (AYBÜ) İlahiyat Fakültesi ile Özbekistan Uluslararası İmam Tirmizî İlmi Araştırmalar Merkezi’nin paydaşlığında ve Türk İşbirliği ve Koordinasyon Ajansı Başkanlığı’nın (TİKA) destekleriyle tertip edilen “Uluslararası Maverâünnehir’den Anadoluya İslâm Âlimleri: İmam Tirmizî ve Hakîm et-Tirmizî” başlıklı sempozyum tanıtılmaktadır. Türkiye, Özbekistan, Kırgızistan, Mısır, Hindistan, Katar ve Bangladeş’ten bilim insanları ve alimlerin katıldığı sempozyumda açılış oturumu yanında 4 oturumda toplam 62 tebliğ sunulmuştur. Ayrıca ilki Özbekistan’da gerçekleştirilen sempozyumun gelecek 4 yıl içerisinde 4 ayrı ülkede farklı üst başlıklarla gerçekleştirilmesi planlanmıştır.

Drought is a natural disaster that occurs in nearly all climatic regions as a result of seasonal or longer-term lack of precipitation. Global warming, insufficient precipitation, low precipitation intensity and duration, low relative humidity and other factors all cause the prevalence of drought. In this study, multivariate drought frequency analysis and risk assessment of Kahramanmaras province were analyzed by using copula functions. After the drought parameters (duration and severity) were obtained by the SPI (Standardized Precipitation Index) method, the most appropriate marginal distributions were found for each parameter. Finally, depending on the appropriate marginal distributions, the conditional return probabilities and periods of the drought parameters of Kahramanmaras province were obtained after the most appropriate copula function was calculated. As a result of this study, the highest conditional return period of drought severity was observed in the center of Kahramanmaras, while the lowest return period was found in the district of Elbistan. Considering the highest conditional drought duration period, Afşin district has the highest return period (least risky), while Elbistan district has the shortest return period (risky). It has been observed that the province of Elbistan has a higher drought risk compared to other districts and the center of Kahramanmaras according to both the conditional drought severity and the drought duration return period. This study provides useful information to decision makers in the management of drought risk assessment for Kahramanmaras province.

Müslüman âlimler, hadis edebiyatını[oluşturan rivayetleri]n sıhhatini korumaya olan paha biçilmez katkılarından ötürü takdiri hak etmektedir. Bununla birlikte, bu edebiyatın sıhhatini daha da güçlendirmek adına bundan fazlası yapılmalıdır. Mâlik b. Enes (ö. 179 h.), Ahmed b. Hanbel (ö. 241 h.), Dârimî (ö. 255 h.), Buhârî (ö. 256 h.), Müslim (ö. 261 h.), İbn Mâce (ö. 273 h.), Ebû Dâvud (ö. 275 h.), Tirmizî (ö. 279 h.), Nesâî (ö. 303 h.), Dârekutnî (ö. 385 h.) ve Beyhakî (ö. 457 h.) gibi büyük hadis otoriteleri, hadislerin özgün, sahih ve sağlam varyantlarını tespit etmek için -esas itibariyle senedleri tetkik ederek- ellerinden geleni yapmışlardır. Ancak onlar, metinleri aynı gayretle tetkik etmemişlerdir. Günümüzde de durum değişmemiştir, öyle ki [halihazırda yapılmış] metin tetkiklerini incelemek dahi yasak addedilmektedir. Hadislerin sıhhatini tetkike hala ihtiyaç varken, metnin doğruluğunu tespite yönelik bu “kapalı kapı” açılmalıdır. Mevcut çalışma, metinleri tetkik için kriterleri yeniden belirleme yolunda bir girişimi temsil etmekte, sonrasında bu kriterleri, Buhârî ve Müslim’den seçilmiş bazı hadislere uygulamaktadır.
