The article explores how screen use fueled by the COVID-19 pandemic may affect the language and social-communication development of children. Cited are the potential language benefits of screen uptake for older children, the wide-ranging developmental value of the electronic content that children interact, and contents and programs that can provide additional support for early language and literacy development.
