In this research, tungsten oxide (WO3), silver oxide (Ag2O), and Ag2O/WO3 nanocomposites were synthesised by precipitation and sonication method, respectively. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and UV-Visible spectroscopy were used to confirm the structural, spectral, morphological, and optical properties of as-synthesised samples, respectively. The as-prepared Ag2O/WO3 nanocomposite showed improved photocatalytic degradation activity for rhodamine B and methylene blue under solar light compared to pristine WO3 and Ag2O. The percentage degradation values were 79.6%, 86.1% and 90.8% for WO3, Ag2O and Ag2O/WO3 nanocomposite for methylene blue and 70.9%, 80.7% and 87.25% for rhodamine B. One of the possible reasons behind this improved photocatalytic degradation was decreased recombination of photo-generated holes and electrons due to the formation of nanocomposite between WO3 and Ag2O. Optical band gap values for WO3, Ag2O and Ag2O/WO3 nanocomposite were 2.93 eV, 1.59 eV and 1.38 eV, respectively. Copper ferrite (CuFe2O4, CF) and silver-doped copper ferrite (Ag-CuFe2O4, ACF) were prepared via co-precipitation method. While nano-composite of ACF with rGO was prepared by ultra-sonication approach. Degradation of crystal violet (CV) and benzoic acid (BA) by CF, ACF, and ACF@rGO was conducted under sunlight. Because of tremendous stability and immense surface area of rGO, it shows good ability to transfer electrons during photocatalysis.Band gap for CF and ACF were tuned having values 1.36 and 1.67 eV. Ag-CuFe2O4@rGO has exhibited greater photo-catalytic activity than a bare and doped sample. 82.7% and 48.4% were degradation % of CV and BA by Ag-CuFe2O4@rGO respectively. Ag-CuFe2O4@rGO showed 1.3 times higher efficiency than bare CuFe2O4. ACF was sonicated with rGO and composite was formed which was not reported before and I was the novelty of this paper. This research was planned to study the heritability (broad sense), correlation, genetic advance and behavior of different characters in segregating population of upland cotton. The material consists of segregating population of fourteen crosses along with their seven parents. Parental varieties and segregating population show significant difference for all traits under the study. Plant height, ginning out turn (GOT), bolls per plant and yield per plant showed heritability ranging from 78.9 to 27.3. Significant genotypic correlation of yield with plant height was 0.698, bolls per plant was 0.930, GOT was 0.692, fiber strength was 0.548 and with fiber fineness was 0.435. Phenotypic correlation of yield per plant with plant height was 0.520, boll per plant was 0.894 and GOT was 0.476. It can be suggested that plant height, GOT and bolls per plant are important yield contributing traits as they are positively correlated with seed cotton yield per plant. High value for bolls per plant, GOT and yield per plant was recorded in BH-167 × V4 and CIM-534 × V4, which can be utilized in future breeding program. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
