Low birth weight (LBW) is defined by the WHO as a birth weighing less than 2500 g (5.5 lb). The highest burden of any nation is LBW infants. In countries where the frequency of neonate babies is high, short gestation is a major cause. LBW babies have an 11-13 times greater risk of delayed developmental milestones and other medical diagnoses. Greater than the global incidence, LBW prevalence is a severe public health problem in India. A comprehensive literature search was conducted using internet sources like PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar. The words "birth weight," "abnormal birth weight," "LBWs," "neonates," "premature birth," "risks factors," "causes," "factors," "prevalence," and "frequency" were searched. In this review, we examine the causes of LBW, implementation of pre-birth prevention strategies, and post-birth multifaceted health promotion interventions. Throughout pregnancy, the mother's nutritional and mental health significantly influences the kid's long-term growth and wellness. This review's objective is to provide a comprehensive assessment of the literature on the link between pregnancy nutrition and a sound mind and a foetus' growth, considering factors in the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social domains. A balanced, nutrient-rich diet is crucial for the baby to grow and develop properly during pregnancy. An appropriate diet of significant macronutrients and micronutrients supports good foetal organ development, cognitive function, and immune system resiliency. For instance, studies have linked iron and omega-3 fatty acids to a reduced risk of developmental delays and improved cognitive performance. Contrarily, malnutrition in mothers, such as undernutrition or excessive weight gain, has been connected with negative results, including low birth weight, poor neurodevelopment, and increased susceptibility to chronic diseases in later life. The mother's mental health, including emotional equilibrium and psychological stability, significantly impacts the child's development. Stress, anxiety, and depression experienced by mothers during pregnancy harm the developing foetus and increase the risk of cognitive, behavioural, and emotional difficulties in the offspring. The growing foetus is exposed to high levels of stress hormones due to chronic maternal stress, which might alter the fetus's brain's shape and function. Factors influencing child development outcomes include maternal-infant attachment, breastfeeding start and duration, and general caring practices. A comprehensive approach is critical since new research indicates a synergistic relationship between maternal nutrition and mental health. Inadequate nutritional intake might result from maternal mental health problems that interfere with appetite control and eating habits. On the other hand, inadequate maternal nutrition may raise maternal stress and result in mental health problems. Management of hygiene during menstruation is severely affected by the continued existence of several societal, cultural, and religious restrictions on menstruation and menstruation practices. Since they are frequently unprepared and unaware of their periods, especially in rural regions of the country, girls face a variety of hurdles and problems at home, in school, and at work. We observed from examining the studies that managing menstrual hygiene is affected by a lack of personal sanitation and inadequate, erroneous, or partial understanding of menstruation. Women either possess zero or minimal knowledge about genital infections, which are caused by poor personal hygiene during menstruation. Women in rural areas frequently lack access to sanitary items and have inadequate understanding of their sorts and applications, or cannot afford the high cost of such products. Females in rural areas must use washable cotton pads because of this, which they must use repeatedly. The requirements and desires of teenage girls and women continue to be disregarded, despite substantial developments in the water and sanitation industries. Menstrual products are disposed of in domestic garbage and public facilities when women are outside, while they are flushed down toilets at home without considering the risk of choking. Because of this, there should be a need to inform and educate individuals about the health risks and environmental problems connected to them. Hypothyroidism means an underactive thyroid gland. This leads to a decrease in the functioning of the thyroid gland. It is a very common endocrine disorder that causes under-secretion of thyroid hormones, mainly thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). It affects people of every age group but is more commonly found in women and older people. The symptoms of hypothyroidism can go unnoticed, may not be specific, and may overlap with other conditions, which makes it harder to diagnose it in some cases. Common symptoms include fatigue, weight gain, increased sensitivity to cold (cold intolerance), irregular bowel movements (constipation), and dry skin (xeroderma). These conditions are mostly the result of a low metabolic rate in the body. Weight gain occurs due to a decrease in fat-burning rate and cold intolerance due to a decrease in heat production by the body. This condition can be caused by a variety of factors, including autoimmune diseases, radiation therapy, thyroid gland removal surgeries, and certain medications. The diagnosis of hypothyroidism is based on laboratory tests that measure the levels of thyroid hormones (T3 and T4) in the blood. Treatment typically involves lifelong hormone replacement therapy with synthetic thyroid hormone replacement medication, such as levothyroxine, to help regulate hormone levels in the body. People with hypothyroidism may need to have their medication dosage adjusted over time. If hypothyroidism is left untreated, it can lead to severe complications like mental retardation, delayed milestones, etc., in infants and heart failure, infertility, myxedema coma, etc., in adults. From a broader perspective, antibiotic or antimicrobial resistance is still evolving and spreading internationally. Infectious diseases have become more complex and often impossible to cure, increasing morbidity and mortality. Despite the failure of conventional, standard antimicrobial therapy, no new class of antibiotics has been developed in the last 20 years, which results in various cutting-edge and other tactics that can be used to encounter these disease-causing microorganisms with antibiotic resistance. In the continued fight against bacterial infections, there is an urgent requirement for new antibiotics and other antimicrobials. Antibiotic resistance is inevitable, and pharmaceutical companies consistently show little interest in funding novel antibiotic research. Some methods are being used as a possible replacement for conventional antibiotics. Combination therapy, methods that target the proteins or enzymes that cause antimicrobial resistance and bacterial resistance, systems for delivery of the drug, physicochemical approaches, and informal ways, such as the CRISPR-Cas system, are some of these approaches. Hepatocytic ballooning, a histological feature of NASH, has gained prominence for its role in disease progression and potential as a therapeutic target. This review provides an overview of the current knowledge regarding hepatocytic ballooning in NASH, highlighting the key molecular and cellular mechanisms implicated in its development. We delve into the intricate interplay of metabolic dysregulation, oxidative stress, and lipid toxicity as drivers of hepatocytic ballooning, shedding light on the pathways responsible for its initiation and perpetuation. Triptorelin, a synthetic gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist, has garnered increasing attention for its profound effects on endocrine profiles across diverse populations. This review article explores triptorelin's impact on women's health by examining its effects on healthy individuals, those with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and those experiencing hypothalamic amenorrhea (HA). The mechanism of triptorelin involves a transient surge in gonadotropin release, followed by receptor desensitization, leading to downregulation of the hypothalamus-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis. In healthy women, triptorelin's controlled modulation of the HPG axis is a foundation for assisted reproduction techniques. In PCOS, it offers promise in restoring ovulatory function and mitigating hyperandrogenism. A somatic symptom disorder (SSD) diagnosis is made when a person places emphasis on physical symptoms such as pain, exhaustion, or shortness of breath so much that it causes significant suffering and/or functional issues. The individual's thoughts, sentiments, and activities are an overstated reaction to such symptoms. Regardless of whether the physical symptoms are connected to a diagnosable medical condition, the person experiences symptoms and believes they are ill. When a person exhibits symptoms that satisfy the diagnostic standards of an SSD, the disease should be identified. However, due to the disorder's frequent co-occurrence, particularly with anxiety and depressive disorders, support for these concurrent diagnoses should be sought. Cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and medication are all examples of effective treatments for SSD. It has been demonstrated that tricyclic antidepressants or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) aid in treating symptoms. The authors describe the case of an eight-year-old boy with complaints of abdominal pain that were unexplained by various tests. The pain lasted 10 years and was episodic (each episode lasted around 10 days; one particular episode lasted approximately six months). Multiple investigations were conducted, but no physiological reason for his symptoms was discovered.
