Purpose This paper aims to determine the influence of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) excellence enablers on the financial, market and non-financial performance of the textile companies in Pakistan. Moreover, the mediating role of organizational learning culture is also tested in EFQM enablers and performance relationships. Design/methodology/approach Using a multi-respondent strategy, the data was collected from 254 textile firms registered with All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) using a highly structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling via AMOS v.22. Findings The results reveal that EFQM excellence enablers significantly influence financial, non-financial and market performance. Furthermore, organizational learning culture (OLC) significantly positively mediates the relationship between EFQM excellence enablers and business performance. Research limitations/implications This study enhances the literature of EFQM enablers and microfoundations of institutional theory in the textile industry of developing countries and proposes a way forward to the effective utilization of such enablers for higher performance. Originality/value This research is the first of its kind that empirically tests the microfoundations of institutional theory concerning EFQM, OLC and performance in the textile industry of Pakistan.

The opening of Kartarpur Corridor brings forward common ground between the two countries for bilateral, regional and global peace and sustainability. The gains of one are considered losses to the other with incidents like, lock down in Indian Kashmir, Indian Citizenship Law, atrocities along the Line of Control (LOC), Pulwama incident, and surgical strike. We propose that peace and sustainability process between the two countries with its roots in Kartarpur corridor as a common ground may help in developing future global directions. Spatial, social, spiritual, economics and strategic (SSSES) tourism dynamics of Kartarpur Corridor is our active area of focus in this study. Expanding common grounds is a formula for regional and global peace. The data from (384 Pakistanis and 384 non-Pakistani Sikh yatrees) is collected. The analysis and the results support the hypotheses of the study and the recommendations help working in line for development of tourism for SSSES.

An investigation and validation of effectiveness of technical and vocational education at secondary level for poverty alleviation is need of the day. Four sub-components such as locale, age, education and socio economic status have been considered important in determining the effectiveness of technical & vocational education at secondary level for poverty alleviation. Out of 815 pass outs in Matric technology and vocational education during 2013, 2014 and 2015, the parents of 494 were selected through proportionate stratified random sampling technique for study. The study established that there is a significant positive strong relationship between parents’ perception towards effectiveness of technical &vocational education and poverty alleviation. The curriculum, assessment & evaluation and social aspects significantly and positively predicted the outcome variable poverty alleviation. The study is useful for policy makers, professionals, researchers and practitioners.

Notwithstanding the significant contribution made by employees towards addressing environmental issues, few research studies have explored this important contemporary theme in the hospitality sector. Drawing on the theory of planned behavior (TPB), this research examines the direct and interactive effects of employee environmental job attitudes and behaviors on ecological practices. Using PROCESS Macros on an actual convenient sample of 508 employees working in the hospitality industry, the results show a mixture of anticipated and surprising outcomes. The anticipated outcome is associated with the direct effects of environmental attitude on ecological behavior, while surprising outcomes are in the interaction of job attitudes and behavior (customer-oriented discretionary behavior, organizational commitment). These outcomes provoke employees&rsquo, green behavior and contentment with the organization. The originality of this research is to investigate the significant contribution of employees in greening the hospitality sector in an emerging economy.

Managers’ self-efficacy, being an active area of research, is important as it encourages employees’ performance. The feedback of highly self-efficacious managers in making better decisions is important to meet the global challenges that world is facing. This study explores literature on the relationship between managerial self-efficacy and employees’ performance. We further empirically tested the hypothesis in the banking sector in Pakistan and the results supported the theoretical implications. The study can serve as a basis for further studies and is practically useful for managers for improving employee performance.

Purpose: To review the literature on Customer Relationship Management (CRM), identify the CRM models presented by different researchers. This paper considers CRM as a philosophy that can be translated into a strategy. An insight in the core components of CRM systems leading to inclusion of Tacit Knowledge (TK) can bring better understanding of marketing functioning. This understanding results in better decisions. Design/methodology/approach: A review of more than 200 papers on CRM, marketing, relationship marketing and Knowledge Management (KM) directed the attention towards the CRM research models and revealed the proposal to integrate CRM with KM for transformation of CRM into a strategic approach. Career counseling and employment in Technical & Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector is considered an important component for coping with the economic challenges, the world is facing today. This study focused on the graduates of TVET in Pakistan by collecting data from principals, employed TVET graduates and their respective employers. Our findings support our argument that career counseling is important for employment in TVET sector. We recommend empirical validation career counseling for TVET graduates in particular and all graduates in general. The career counseling needs to be explored conceptually with reference to under developed economies.
