When fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) bars are used in concrete structures that are exposed to harsh environments, their service life is extended and the cost of their life cycle is reduced. FRP reinforcing bars are a better alternative to standard steel reinforcing bars. Shear behavior of reinforced concrete structural components is a complicated relationship that is dependent on the growth of interior load-carrying systems, the amount and combinations of these is currently under investigation. Several building regulations and design requirements include methods to calculate the punching shear strength of fiber reinforced concrete slabs. Building code formulae provide for the impact of axis stiffness of major rebars, the impact of slab thickness, the ratio of a crucial section's perimeter to the slab's effective depth, and fiber-reinforced polymer bars or grids on flat slabs' punching shear strength. In order to determine the punching shear capacity of concrete flat slabs reinforced with FRP bars, this research compares experimental data from the literature with building code formulae. In this study, the focus is on the ACI 440.1R-15, CSA S806-12, and JSCE-97. Concrete slabs reinforced with glass, basalt, and carbon fiber reinforced polymer bars are among the experimental examined in this paper. ACI 440.1R-15, CSA S806-12, and JSCE-97 have been demonstrated to be in satisfactory correlation with test findings when it comes to estimating punching shear capacity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
