Abstract Emerging Industry 5.0 designs promote artificial intelligence services and data-driven applications across multiple places with varying ownership that need special data protection and privacy considerations to prevent the disclosure of private information to outsiders. Due to this, federated learning offers a method for improving machine-learning models without accessing the train data at a single manufacturing facility. We provide a self-adaptive framework for federated machine learning of healthcare intelligent systems in this research. Our method takes into account the participating parties at various levels of healthcare ecosystem abstraction. Each hospital trains its local model internally in a self-adaptive style and transmits it to the centralized server for universal model optimization and communication cycle reduction. To represent a multi-task optimization issue, we split the dataset into as many subsets as devices. Each device selects the most advantageous subset for every local iteration of the model. On a training dataset, our initial study demonstrates the algorithm's ability to converge various hospital and device counts. By merging a federated machine-learning approach with advanced deep machine-learning models, we can simply and accurately predict multidisciplinary cancer diseases in the human body. Furthermore, in the smart healthcare industry 5.0, the results of federated machine learning approaches are used to validate multidisciplinary cancer disease prediction. The proposed adaptive federated machine learning methodology achieved 90.0%, while the conventional federated learning approach achieved 87.30%, both of which were higher than the previous state-of-the-art methodologies for cancer disease prediction in the smart healthcare industry 5.0.

This review article offers a comprehensive analysis of current developments in the application of machine learning for cancer diagnostic systems. The effectiveness of machine learning approaches has become evident in improving the accuracy and speed of cancer detection, addressing the complexities of large and intricate medical datasets. This review aims to evaluate modern machine learning techniques employed in cancer diagnostics, covering various algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised learning, as well as deep learning and federated learning methodologies. Data acquisition and preprocessing methods for different types of data, such as imaging, genomics, and clinical records, are discussed. The paper also examines feature extraction and selection techniques specific to cancer diagnosis. Model training, evaluation metrics, and performance comparison methods are explored. Additionally, the review provides insights into the applications of machine learning in various cancer types and discusses challenges related to dataset limitations, model interpretability, multi-omics integration, and ethical considerations. The emerging field of explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) in cancer diagnosis is highlighted, emphasizing specific XAI techniques proposed to improve cancer diagnostics. These techniques include interactive visualization of model decisions and feature importance analysis tailored for enhanced clinical interpretation, aiming to enhance both diagnostic accuracy and transparency in medical decision-making. The paper concludes by outlining future directions, including personalized medicine, federated learning, deep learning advancements, and ethical considerations. This review aims to guide researchers, clinicians, and policymakers in the development of efficient and interpretable machine learning-based cancer diagnostic systems.

Abstract A kidney stone is a solid formation that can lead to kidney failure, severe pain, and reduced quality of life from urinary system blockages. While medical experts can interpret kidney-ureter-bladder (KUB) X-ray images, specific images pose challenges for human detection, requiring significant analysis time. Consequently, developing a detection system becomes crucial for accurately classifying KUB X-ray images. This article applies a transfer learning (TL) model with a pre-trained VGG16 empowered with explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) to establish a system that takes KUB X-ray images and accurately categorizes them as kidney stones or normal cases. The findings demonstrate that the model achieves a testing accuracy of 97.41% in identifying kidney stones or normal KUB X-rays in the dataset used. VGG16 model delivers highly accurate predictions but lacks fairness and explainability in their decision-making process. This study incorporates the Layer-Wise Relevance Propagation (LRP) technique, an explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) technique, to enhance the transparency and effectiveness of the model to address this concern. The XAI technique, specifically LRP, increases the model's fairness and transparency, facilitating human comprehension of the predictions. Consequently, XAI can play an important role in assisting doctors with the accurate identification of kidney stones, thereby facilitating the execution of effective treatment strategies.

Business process modeling is used to model business processes using Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN), which is a widely accepted standard for process modeling. BPMN elements are visually represented by the existing model, but the expressiveness of elements in terms of communication between the participants of the business process is a problem reported in modeling literature. Business processes use collaboration models to gain increasing importance in software development, describing their behavior and interaction. Recent years have seen the presentation of various approaches to ensure communication between business process pools. Despite the widespread adoption of BPMN for business process modeling, existing collaboration models often suffer from significant limitations in accurately capturing complex collaborative business processes. The existing approaches do not ensure proper structure and syntax for collaboration elements. The flow of information among multiple pools causes ambiguity in the developed business process. A Collaborative Business Process Model (CBPM) is proposed to address this issue, based on modeling rules that ensure proper syntax and structure of the models. The proposed CBPM also guarantees that the model is a better approach for participant interaction. This approach contributes to improving the communication mechanism between the participants of collaborative business processes. Moreover, we formally analyze and verify the working of CBPM by specifying the model in Z specification language. Performance evaluation regarding the flow of messages through test case coverage criteria indicates that the model is capable of ensuring successful communication among the multiple participants of business processes.

Histopathology images are visual representations of tissue samples that have been processed and examined under a microscope in order to establish diagnoses for various disorders. These images are categorized by deep transfer learning due to the absence of big annotated datasets. There are some classifiers such as softmax and Support Vector Machine (SVM) used to perform multiple and binary classification respectively. Feature reduction for high dimensional images, is an emerging technique which can meet two basic criteria’s of classification i.e. it deals with over-fitting issue and it can also incredibly increase the classification accuracy. As disease diagnosis requires accurate histopathological image classification, so the proposed Dual Featured Auto-encoder (DFAE) based transfer learning is introduced with Triple Layered Convolutional Architecture. The Histological CIMA dataset is used after pre-processing by PHAT, a mathematical and computational framework to get spatial features as well as spectral features. In order to achieve the two objectives, the proposed integrated methodology uses reduced informative features from DFAE and fed them to Triple Layered Convolutional Architecture (TLCA). The conventional Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), ResNet50, Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) are also tested against reduced dimensional image data but we found moderate or even low accuracies i.e. 25% for DFAE-ResNet50, 66% for DFAE-LSTM, 33% for DFAE-GRU and 67% for DFAE-CNN. While the accuracy of our proposed architecture Dual Featured Auto-encoder with TLCA (DFAE-TLCA) is better i.e. 96.07%. The proposed methodology has the potential to revolutionize the medical research.

The precise prediction of energy consumption is crucial for businesses, companies, and households especially when it comes to planning energy purchases. An underestimated or overestimated forecast value may result in the use of energy inefficiently. The companies will face financial consequences for inefficient energy usage because energy production requires high costs. In this research, an energy consumption prediction model is proposed employing Light Gradient-Boosting Machine (ECP_LightGBM) and explainable artificial intelligence (XAI), respectively for forecasting. A household dataset is used in this study for the evaluation of our model and also to compare the results with previously published approaches. According to the results, our model achieved the lowest root mean square error. Furthermore, the interpretability investigation using XAI indicated that the feature name sub_metering_3 had a very strong impact on the model’s output which shows the consumption of energy by air conditioner and water heater. Lastly, this study can be helpful for household practitioners, offering the LightGBM model for precise energy prediction and giving guidance to leaders and policymakers, so they can allocate investments and energy resources more intelligently.

A stable and sustainable food supply chain is only possible with effective agriculture management. The application of technology in agriculture has recently produced encouraging outcomes in terms of improving agricultural yield and quality. Early detection and characterization of plant leaf diseases, which have a substantial influence on agricultural output and the general well-being of farmers and consumers, is a crucial component. The automatic identification and categorization of illnesses affecting apple and maize plants is the focus of this paper’s investigation into the implementation of cutting-edge technical solutions, notably machine learning algorithms. Deep learning has recently made significant contributions to the automatic detection and classification of plants diseases specifically in fruits and vegetables. As a result, the production and quality of fruits and vegetables have both improved. Many diseases have a negative impact on crop quality and output. This research proposes an ensemble deep learning based technique for classifying plant leaf diseases. In this work, two separate pre-trained deep learning models have been utilized and a hybrid approach is proposed. In this research work we have proposed a hybrid framework based on the hybrid preprocessing algorithm, an ensemble features engineering phase based on the texture features and two types of deep features extraction. The extracted Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) features are selected and fused with the LBP features. The ensemble feature vector is optimized using three different meta-heuristic algorithms that are Binary Dragonfly algorithm (BDA), Ant Colony Optimization algorithm and Moth Flame Optimization algorithm (MFO). The optimized feature vector is classified using state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms. Notably, the study addresses the research gap by providing a comprehensive analysis of plant diseases affecting fruits and vegetables. Additionally, it acknowledges the limitations of the proposed approach, paving the way for future research and improvements. The utilization of the proposed technique yields a remarkable accuracy of 99.8%, surpassing current state-of-the-art methods. This research contributes to the ongoing efforts to enhance food security and sustainability by providing an effective solution for the early identification and classification of plant diseases, thereby mitigating the negative impact on crop productivity and quality.

Precision agriculture benefits from autonomous vehicles and drones, driven by ML, ensuring precision in planting, harvesting, and crop monitoring. Resource efficiency increases as ML optimizes energy consumption, manages fertilizer application, and promotes climate-resilient practices. This comprehensive assessment underscores ML’s pivotal role in maximizing productivity, minimizing environmental impact, and navigating the complexities of modern agriculture.

Nanotechnologists and medical researchers are working hard to develop new and innovative ways to use nanorobots as nanomedicine to improve healthcare outcomes and revolutionize the field of therapeutics. Nanotechnology has the potential to revolutionize healthcare by providing new ways of treating chronic diseases in the field of medicine. A “Gold Nano Thermo Robot” (GNTR) model has been proposed in this research article, which can be considered a nanomedicine that will deliver controlled thermal therapy to targeted malignant tissues without damaging healthy tissues. The proposed nanotherapeutic system, empowered with a nano sensor network, interbody body communication network, and Internet of nanomedical things, has been used to normalize and control hyperthermal waves in real-time that have been used to eliminate breast cancer cells using the “SEE and TREAT” technique. To generate hyperthermia, which has been irradiated by laser pulses to propose GNTR, a Coulomb explosion took place, and a huge amount of dispersed hyperthermia waves were produced. To convert the intensity of dispersed and irregular hyperthermia into a regulated and disciplined format, a Finite Difference Method has been used to develop a “Heat Control System.” A comparative analysis has been provided of the intricate relationship between the required radius of Gold Nano Thermo Robots and the volume depth of the tumor for penetration, with a keen focus on evaluating how different GNTR sizes fit or do not fit for the task of effectively treating tumors at various depths within cancer tumors. Furthermore, the effectiveness of treatment has multifaceted outcomes that have been acquired by the interplay between two critical factors, the temperature limit and therapy duration. By examining a comprehensive matrix of thermal therapy durations (ranging from 25 minutes to 60 minutes) alongside various temperature limits (ranging from 33°C to 60°C). The best fit and the best response therapy session have been verified with a temperature limit of 42 °C for 30 minutes, achieving near-complete tumor ablation with minimum harm to the healthy tissues. The complex physical effects on the Gold Nano Robots surfaces due to the Coulomb explosion procedure are also provided in the form of simulation analysis, and an explanation is given in nine panels.

In this study, a weighted federated learning approach is proposed for electrocardiogram (ECG) arrhythmia classification. The proposed approach considers the heterogeneity of data distribution among multiple clients in federated learning settings. The weight of each client is dynamically adjusted according to its contribution to the global model improvement. Experiments on public ECG datasets show that the proposed approach outperforms traditional federated learning and centralized learning methods in terms of accuracy and robustness. On the client side, the suggested federated learning (FL) approach had an accuracy of 0.93, sensitivity of 0.98, specificity of 0.82, miss classification rate of 0.07, precision of 0.06, FPR of 0.01, and FNR of 0.01. FL has 0.98 accuracy, 0.99 sensitivity, 0.91 specificity, 0.02 miss classification rate, 0.10 precision, 0.01, FPR, and 0.01 FNR on the server. The server-side federated learning approach outperforms the client-side in accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, miss classification rates, and precision. The results indicate that the proposed weighted federated learning approach is a promising solution for ECG arrhythmia classification in a distributed environment. In short, the proposed federated learning approach applied to ECG arrhythmia detection aims to address privacy concerns and improve accuracy, while still maintaining the centralized framework and advanced algorithmic approach.

AbstractThe occlusal surfaces of posterior teeth are susceptible to caries formation due to the presence of pits and fissures. The bacteria present in the oral cavity and food particles are accumulated on these complex structures. To prevent and protect the tooth structure, different additives were added to pits and fissures sealants to improve adhesion with tooth structure, enhance the mechanical properties, and prevent bacterial growth. In this regard, cotton was coated with chlorohexidine (CHX) and incorporated in a resin-based sealant to improve its mechanical properties (compressive and flexural strength), mass change, and bacterial properties. The mean compressive strength values of CHX coated cotton modified RBS samples S1, S2 & S3 were significantly higher than the control group. The mean flexural strength value of group S1 was significantly higher as compared to the C, S2 & S3. Disc diffusion methods showed a significantly higher value of (p-value = 0.003) antibacterial potential of groups S2 and S3 as compared to group C. The mean percent mass change values of S1, S2 & S3 were higher than the control group. Hence the addition of CHX-coated cotton fillers in RBS improved its properties.

The agricultural sector is pivotal to food security and economic stability worldwide. Corn holds particular significance in the global food industry, especially in developing countries where agriculture is a cornerstone of the economy. However, corn crops are vulnerable to various diseases that can significantly reduce yields. Early detection and precise classification of these diseases are crucial to prevent damage and ensure high crop productivity. This study leverages the VGG16 deep learning (DL) model to classify corn leaves into four categories: healthy, blight, gray spot, and common rust. Despite the efficacy of DL models, they often face challenges related to the explainability of their decision-making processes. To address this, Layer-wise Relevance Propagation (LRP) is employed to enhance the model's transparency by generating intuitive and human-readable heat maps of input images. The proposed VGG16 model, augmented with LRP, outperformed previous state-of-the-art models in classifying corn leaf diseases. Simulation results demonstrated that the model not only achieved high accuracy but also provided interpretable results, highlighting critical regions in the images used for classification. By generating human-readable explanations, this approach ensures greater transparency and reliability in model performance, aiding farmers in improving their crop yields.

In this case report, we demonstrate the application of a stepwise approach for the evaluation of older adults with complex care needs who present to the emergency department. We emphasize the pressing need for the development of a standardized protocol tailored to emergency physicians, addressing the unique needs of complex older adults, and overcoming the system barriers in emergency care.

Distributed Generation (DG) studies are generally conducted considering a single type of DG units integrated with the Distribution System (DS). However, these studies may not evaluate optimum benefits offered by the DG integration. This paper presents a novel framework for individual and simultaneous allocation of different types of DG units in DS while considering varying load demand and probabilistic generation of DG units. A Salp Swarm Algorithm (SSA) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) based new hybrid method that utilizes a single controlling parameter is proposed for simultaneous allocation of DG units, aiming to minimize a multi-objective index. The strength of the proposed SSA-PSO hybrid approach is validated on seventeen benchmark functions and the performance of the novel framework for optimal allocation of DG units is validated through implementation on the 69-bus system. The results demonstrate that the proposed hybrid approach performs better as compared to other meta-heuristics techniques. Moreover, simultaneous allocation significantly reduces the multi-objective index as compared to individual DG units’ integration.

The abnormality of haemoglobin in the human body is the fundamental cause of thalassemia disease. Thalassemia is considered a common genetic blood condition that has received extensive investigation in medical research globally. Likely, inherited disorders will be passed down to children from their parents. If both parents are beta Thalassemia carriers, 25% of their children will have intermediate or major beta thalassemia, which is fatal. An efficient method of beta thalassemia is prenatal screening after couples have received counselling. Identifying Thalassemia carriers involves a costly, time-consuming, and specialized test using quantifiable blood features. However, cost-effective and speedy screening methods must be developed to address this issue. The demise rate due to thalassemia development is outstandingly high around the globe. The passing rate due to thalassemia development can be reduced by following the proper procedure early; otherwise, it significantly impacts the body. A machine learning-based late fusion model proposes the detection of beta-thalassemia carriers by analyzing red blood cells. This study applied the late fusion technique to employ four machine learning algorithms. For identifying the beta-thalassemia carriers, logistics regression, Naïve Bayes, decision tree, and neural network have achieved an accuracy of 94.01%, 93.15%, 97.93%, and 98.07%, respectively, by using the features-based dataset. The late fusion-based ML model achieved an overall accuracy of 96% for detecting beta-thalassemia carriers. The proposed late fusion model performs better than previously published approaches regarding efficiency, reliability, and precision.

Brachyolmia is a heterogeneous group of developmental disorders characterized by a short trunk, short stature, scoliosis, and generalized platyspondyly without significant deformities in the long bones. DASS (Dental Abnormalities and Short Stature), caused by alterations in the LTBP3 gene, was previously considered as a subtype of brachyolmia.The present study investigated three unrelated consanguineous families (A, B, C) with Brachyolmia and DASS from Egypt and Pakistan. In our Egyptian patients, we also observed hearing impairment. Exome sequencing was performed to determine the genetic causes of the diverse clinical conditions in the patients. Exome sequencing identified a novel homozygous splice acceptor site variant (LTBP3:c.3629-1G > T; p. ?) responsible for DASS phenotypes and a known homozygous missense variant (CABP2: c.590T > C; p.Ile197Thr) causing hearing impairment in the Egyptian patients. In addition, two previously reported homozygous frameshift variants (LTBP3:c.132delG; p.Pro45Argfs*25) and (LTBP3:c.2216delG; p.Gly739Alafs*7) were identified in Pakistani patients.This study emphasizes the vital role of LTBP3 in the axial skeleton and tooth morphogenesis and expands the mutational spectrum of LTBP3. We are reporting LTBP3 variants in seven patients of three families, majorly causing brachyolmia with dental and cardiac anomalies. Skeletal assessment documented short webbed neck, broad chest, evidences of mild long bones involvement, short distal phalanges, pes planus and osteopenic bone texture as additional associated findings expanding the clinical phenotype of DASS. The current study reveals that the hearing impairment phenotype in Egyptian patients of family A has a separate transmission mechanism independent of LTBP3.

The identification of projected changes in temperature caused by global warming at a fine-scale spatial resolution is of great importance for the high-altitude glacier and snow covered Upper Indus Basin. This study used a multimodel ensemble mean bias-correction technique which uses the ensemble empirical mode decomposition method to correct the bias of ensemble mean of seven CMIP6 GCMs outputs with reference to the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts Reanalysis 5 (ERA5). The bias-corrected data have a nonlinear trend of seven GCMs but interannual variance and mean climate of ERA5 dataset. The dataset spans from 1985 to 2100 for historical and future climate scenarios (SSP126, SSP245, SSP370, and SSP585) at daily time intervals with a 1 km grid resolution. The result of different scenarios indicates that the increase in maximum (Tmax) and minimum temperature (Tmin) ranging from 1.5 to 5.4 °C and 1.8 to 6.8 °C from 2015 to 2100, respectively. Similarly, elevation-dependent warming is identified in Tmin from 1.7 to 7.0 °C at elevations

This study aims to fabricate, characterize and evaluate Guided tissue regeneration (GTR) membrane containing eggshell (ES), chlorhexidine (CHX) and polymeric matrix for periodontal application. ES powder ground to size 74 µm was mixed in Polylactic Acid (PLA) and Polyethylene Glycol (70:30 ratios) mixture in 10% and 30% wt to fabricate the membrane and named groups C-10 and C-30. Along with this, 0.25% and 0.5% CHX powder were adsorbed on ES powder and incorporated in PLA and PEG mixture to fabricate drug containing groups C-10CHX and C-30CHX respectively. UTM was used to measure tensile strength, Young’s Modulus, and percent elongation of the prepared GTR membrane. Experimental groups containing 10% ES powder (C-10 and C-30) had adequate tensile properties. The percent mass change of the samples was calculated by the change in weight of the samples (Wd) from the weight of samples after immersion in phosphate-buffered saline PBS (Wt). Contact angle measurement showed that all membranes were found to be hydrophilic (contact angle70%).

This study evaluated the performance and hydrologic utility of four different satellite precipitation datasets (SPDs), including GPM (IMERG_F), PERSIANN_CDR, CHIRPS, and CMORPH, to predict daily streamflow and SL using the SWAT hydrological model as well as SWAT coupled soft computing models (SCMs) such as artificial neural networks (SWAT-ANNs), random forests (SWAT-RFs), and support vector regression (SWAT-SVR), in the mountainous Upper Jhelum River Basin (UJRB), Pakistan. SCMs were developed using the outputs of un-calibrated SWAT models to improve the predictions. Overall, the GPM shows the highest performance for the entire simulation with R2 and PBIAS varying from 0.71 to 0.96 and −13.1 to 0.01%, respectively. For the best GPM-based models, SWAT-RF showed a superior ability to simulate the entire streamflow with R2 of 0.96, compared with the SWAT-ANN (R2 = 0.90), SWAT-SVR (R2 = 0.87), and SWAT-CUP (R2 = 0.71). Similarly, SWAT-ANN presented the best performance capability to simulate the SL with an R2 of 0.71, compared with the SWAT-RF (R2 = 0.66), SWAT-SVR (R2 = 0.52), and SWAT-CUP (R2 = 0.42). Hence, hydrological coupled SCMs based on SPDs could be an effective technique for simulating hydrological parameters, particularly in complex terrain where gauge network density is low or uneven. Abstract Background With the increasing advancement in the field of information technology, it’s about time we realize that our future will be shaped by this field. With more and more people using smartphones, we need to adapt them to the medical field. Already many advancements in medical field are done thanks to the advancement of computer science. But we need to implement this into our teaching and learning as well. Almost all students and faculty members use smartphones in one way or another if we can utilize the smartphone to enhance the learning opportunities for our medical students, it would greatly benefit them. But before the implementation, we need to find out if our faculty is willing to adopt this technology. The objective of this study is to find out what are the perceptions of dental faculty members about using a smartphone as a teaching tool. Methodology A validated questionnaire was distributed among the faculty members of all the dental colleges of KPK. The questionnaire had 2 sections. First one contains information regarding the demographics. The second one had questions related to the faculty members’ perception regarding using a smartphone as a teaching tool. Results The results of our study showed that the faculty (Mean 2.08) had positive perceptions regarding using a smartphone as a teaching tool. Conclusion Most of the Dental Faculty members of KPK agree that smartphone can be used as a teaching tool, and it can have better outcomes if proper applications and teaching strategies are used.

The Web of Things (WoT) is an enhanced form of the Internet of Things (IoT) that has changed the trend of life nowadays. Due to IoT, life is transformed into smart life, such as smart buildings, smart vehicles, smart agriculture, smart businesses, etc., by connecting a certain number of things to the internet. Many people are now working on ways to locate indoor things to interact and exchange data between smart things and web services and apps, which is called “WoT,” or “Web of Things.” To interact and exchange the data, researchers need a search engine on WoT. However, locating indoor things in the Web of Things (WoT) remains a challenge due to the lack of a unified indexing system. In this research, we propose a novel approach to index indoor things in the WoT by leveraging machine learning and web technologies. Our approach includes a data preprocessing step, where we extract relevant features from the sensor data, followed by a clustering algorithm to group similar devices. We then use a semantic model to assign meaning to the clusters and develop a search engine to enable efficient searching of indoor things. Our proposed approach improves the accuracy and efficiency of locating indoor things in the WoT, paving the way for new applications in smart homes, healthcare, and industrial automation.

Identifying human diseases remains a difficult process, even in the age of advanced information technology and the smart healthcare industry 5.0. In the smart healthcare industry 5.0, precise prediction of human diseases, particularly lethal cancer diseases, is critical for human well-being. The global Internet of Medical Things sector has advanced at a breakneck pace in recent years, from small wristwatches to large aircraft. The critical aspects of the Internet of Medical Things include security and privacy, owing to the massive scale and deployment of the Internet of Medical Things networks. Transfer learning with a secure IoMT-based approach is considered. The Google net deep machine-learning model is used for accurate disease prediction in the smart healthcare industry 5.0. We can easily and reliably anticipate the lethal cancer disease in the human body by using the secure IoMT-based transfer learning approach. Furthermore, the results of the proposed secure IoMT-based Transfer learning techniques are used to validate the best cancer disease prediction in the smart healthcare industry 5.0. The proposed secure IoMT-based transfer learning methodology reached 98.8%, better than the state-of-the-art methodologies used previously for cancer disease prediction in the smart healthcare industry 5.0.

Demand Response (DR) has gained popularity in recent years as a practical strategy to increase the sustainability of energy systems while reducing associated costs. Despite this, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), have recently developed as critical technologies for demand-side management and response due to the high complexity of tasks associated with DR, as well as huge amount of data management to take decisions very near to real time implications. Selecting the best group of users to respond, learning their attitude toward consumptions and their priorities, price optimization, monitoring and control of devices, learning to engage more and more consumers in the DR schemes, and learning how to remunerate them fairly and economically are all problems that can be tackled with the help of AI techniques. This study presents an overview of AI approaches used for DR applications. Both the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning algorithm(s) are employed while discussing commercial efforts (from both new and existing businesses) and large-scale innovation projects that have applied AI technologies for energy DR. Different kind of DR programs implemented in different countries are also discussed. Moreover, it also discusses the application of blockchain for DR schemes in smart grid paradigm. Discussion of the strengths and weaknesses of the evaluated AI methods for various DR tasks, as well as suggestions for further study, round out the work.

Dibenzyltoluene (H0-DBT), a Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier (LOHC), presents an attractive solution for hydrogen storage due to its enhanced safety and ability to store hydrogen in a concentrated liquid form. The utilization of machine learning proves essential for accurately predicting hydrogen storage classes in H0-DBT across diverse experimental conditions. This study focuses on the classification of hydrogen storage data into three classes, low-class, medium-class and high-class, based on the hydrogen storage capacity values. We introduce Hydrogen Storage Prediction with the Support Vector Machine (HSP-SVM) model to predict the hydrogen storage classes accurately. The performance of the proposed HSP-SVM model was investigated using various techniques, which included 5-Fold Cross Validation (5-FCV), Resubstitution Validation (RV), and Holdout Validation (HV). The accuracy of the HV approach for the low, medium, and high class was 98.5%, 97%, and 98.5%, respectively. The overall accuracy of HV approach reached 97% with a miss clarification rate of 3%, whereas 5-FCV and RV possessed an overall accuracy of 93.9% with a miss clarification rate of 6.1%. The results reveal that the HV approach is optimal for predicting the hydrogen storage classes accurately.

The evolution of delta and riverbank erosion within the river basin can significantly impact the environment, ecosystems, and lives of those residing along rivers. The Vietnamese Mekong Delta (VMD), counted among the world’s largest deltas, has undergone significant morphological alterations via natural processes and human activities. This research aims to examine these morphological alterations and their impacts on local economic and social conditions in the VMD. This study utilized satellite data from 1988 to 2020, coupled with population density and land use/land cover (LULC) maps from 2002, 2008, and 2015. The findings reveal that the VMD experienced widespread erosion over the past three decades, covering an area of 66.8 km2 and affecting 48% of the riverbank length (682 km). In contrast to riverbanks, islets showed an accretion trend with an additional area of 13.3 km2, resulting in a decrease in river width over the years. Riverbank and islet erosion has had a profound impact on the LULC, population, and economy of the provinces along the VMD. From 2002 to 2020, eight different land use types were affected, with agricultural land being the most severely eroded, constituting over 86% of the total lost land area (3235.47 ha). The consequences of land loss due to erosion affected 31,273 people and resulted in substantial economic damages estimated at VND 19,409.90 billion (USD 799.50 million) across nine provinces along the VMD. Notably, even though built-up land represented a relatively small portion of the affected area (6.58%), it accounted for the majority of the economic damage at 70.6% (USD 564.45 million). This study underscores the crucial role of satellite imagery and GIS in monitoring long-term morphological changes and assessing their primary impacts. Such analysis is essential for formulating effective plans and strategies for the sustainable management of river environments.

Cattle identification is pivotal for many reasons. Animal health management, traceability, bread classification, and verification of insurance claims are largely depended on the accurate identification of the animals. Conventionally, animals have been identified by various means such as ear tags, tattoos, rumen implants, and hot brands. Being non-scientific approaches, these controls can be easily circumvented. The emerging technologies of biometric identification are extensively applied for Human recognition via thumb impression, face features, or eye retina patterns. The application of biometric recognition technology has now moved towards animals. Cattle identification with the help of muzzle patterns has shown tremendous results. For precise identification, nature has awarded a unique Muzzle pattern that can be utilized as a primary biometric feature. Muzzle pattern image scanning for biometric identification has now been extensively applied for identification. Animal recognition via Muzzle pattern image for different applications has been proliferating gradually. One of those applications includes the identification of fake insurance claims under livestock insurance. Fraudulent animal owners tend to lodge fake claims against livestock insurance with proxy animals. In this paper, we proposed the solution to avoid and/or discard fraudulent claims of livestock insurance by intelligently identifying the proxy animals. Data collection of animal muzzle patterns remained challenging. Key aspects of the proposed system include: (1) the Animal face will be detected through visual using YOLO v7 object detector. (2) After face detection, the same procedures will apply to detect muzzle point (3) the muzzle pattern is extracted and then stored in the database. The System has a mean average precision of 100% for the face and 99.43% for the nose/muzzle point of the animal. Once the animal is registered in the database, the identification process is initiated by extracting unique nose pattern features with ORB and/or SIFT. Then it is matched using the pattern matchers like BFMatcher and/or FLANNMatcher for animal identification. The proposed model is more efficient and accurate as compared to concurrent approaches. The results extracted from this research study show 100% accurate identification.

With the emergence of the Internet of Things (IoT), the computer networks’ phenomenal expansion, and enormous relevant applications, data is continuously increasing. In this way, cybersecurity has gained significant importance in protecting networks from different cyber-attacks like Intrusions, Denial-of-Service (DoS), Eavesdropping, Rushing Attack, etc. A traditional Intrusion Detection System (IDS) tangled with the clustering technique plays a vital role in modern security. Still, it has limitations to analyze the vast volumes of data to identify an anomaly intelligently. Machine learning is a technique that may be tangled with the MapReduce-Based Intelligent Model for Intrusion Detection (MR-IMID) to automate intrusion detection intelligently. MR-IMID is proposed to detect intrusions on a network with multiple data classification tasks in this research work. The proposed MR-IMID processes big data sets reliably using commodity hardware. In this proposed research work, multiple network sources are being utilized in Real-time for intrusion detection. In this proposed research, the MR-IMID detects intrusions by predicting unknown test scenarios and stores the data in the database to minimize future inconsistencies. The detection accuracy of the proposed model during training and validation phases is 97.7% and 95.7%, respectively, which is better than previously published approaches.

Smart cities have been developed over the past decade, and reducing traffic congestion has been the top concern in smart city development. Short delays in communication between vehicles and Roadside Units (RSUs), smooth traffic flow, and road safety are the key challenges of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSs). The rapid upsurge in the number of road vehicles has increased traffic congestion and the number of road accidents. To fix this issue, Vehicular Networks (VNs) have developed many new ideas, including vehicular communications, navigation, and traffic control. Machine Learning (ML) is an efficient approach to finding hidden insights into ITS without being programmed explicitly by learning from data. This research proposed a fusion-based intelligent traffic congestion control system for VNs (FITCCS-VN) using ML techniques that collect traffic data and route traffic on available routes to alleviate traffic congestion in smart cities. The proposed system provides innovative services to the drivers that enable a view of traffic flow and the volume of vehicles available on the road remotely, intending to avoid traffic jams. The proposed model improves traffic flow and decreases congestion. The proposed system provides an accuracy of 95% and a miss rate of 5%, which is better than previous approaches.

OBJECTIVES Postoperative delirium (POD) is a serious complication after cardiac surgery. Use of dexmedetomidine infusion to prevent delirium is controversial. We hypothesized that dexmedetomidine sedation after cardiac surgery would reduce the incidence of POD. METHODOLOGY After the approval from institutional ethics review board and informed consent, a comparative cross sectional study was conducted in 100 patients scheduled for cardiac surgery. Patients suffering from consequential psychological issues, delirium, and grievous dementia were excluded. Delirium was evaluated by confusion assessment method for ICU (CAM-ICU). Normality and homogenity of data were analyzed using Kolmogorov-Sminorv and saphiro wilk. The factors related to delirum status were analyzed using Logistic Regression. RESULTS The mean age among propofol group was 55.14+9.6 while among Dexmedetomidine was 55.96+12.1. POD was present in 24 of 50 (48%) and 4 of 50 (8.%) patients in propofol and dexmedetomidine groups, respectively. variables which had significance values

With the advancement of technology, the maximum data hiding capacity and security of cover objects have become a very challenging task for researchers, particularly in text carrier. Text carrier depicts low hiding capacity but more secure for the detection of confidential information. It demands novelty in data hiding algorithms. In this regard, a novel algorithm is proposed by using steganography and cryptography together for the enhancement of capacity and security of confidential data. The recommended algorithm uses a linguistic steganography method to conceal data into the Arabic text carrier. In the described algorithm, the identification of secret information from text files is hard due to less redundant bits in the text as compared to the image, audio, and video steganographic mediums. The current solution uses Unicode characters such as Zero-Width-Character (ZWC) and Zero-Width-Joiner (ZWJ) to hide the secret information. Before hiding confidential information, secret data is encrypted by using bit inversion due to which algorithm achieved high security. It is observed from the simulation results that the proposed algorithm successfully achieved high cover medium capacity, security, and robustness.

Cancer is a manifestation of disorders caused by the changes in the body's cells that go far beyond healthy development as well as stabilization. Breast cancer is a common disease. According to the stats given by the World Health Organization (WHO), 7.8 million women are diagnosed with breast cancer. Breast cancer is the name of the malignant tumor which is normally developed by the cells in the breast. Machine learning (ML) approaches, on the other hand, provide a variety of probabilistic and statistical ways for intelligent systems to learn from prior experiences to recognize patterns in a dataset that can be used, in the future, for decision making. This endeavor aims to build a deep learning-based model for the prediction of breast cancer with a better accuracy. A novel deep extreme gradient descent optimization (DEGDO) has been developed for the breast cancer detection. The proposed model consists of two stages of training and validation. The training phase, in turn, consists of three major layers data acquisition layer, preprocessing layer, and application layer. The data acquisition layer takes the data and passes it to preprocessing layer. In the preprocessing layer, noise and missing values are converted to the normalized which is then fed to the application layer. In application layer, the model is trained with a deep extreme gradient descent optimization technique. The trained model is stored on the server. In the validation phase, it is imported to process the actual data to diagnose. This study has used Wisconsin Breast Cancer Diagnostic dataset to train and test the model. The results obtained by the proposed model outperform many other approaches by attaining 98.73 % accuracy, 99.60% specificity, 99.43% sensitivity, and 99.48% precision.

Predicting the location of parking is a long-lasting problem that has ultimate importance in our daily life. In this paper, artificial neural networks are used to predict the parking location that will be helpful for drivers to settle on a reasonable area for stopping. This approach eventually adds to the familiarity and wellbeing of traffic on the roads which results in a decrease in turbulence. By using the approach of Deep Extreme Learning Machine (DELM), reliability can be achieved with a marginal error rate thus reducing the skeptical inclination. In this article, the Proposed Car Parking Space Prediction (CPSP) to elaborate on the dilemma of parking space for vehicles, we have used deep learning neural networks in contrast with feedforward and backward propagation. When the results were taken into consideration, it was unveiled that extreme deep machine learning neural network bears the highest accuracy rate with 60% of training (21431 samples), 40% of test and validation (14287 examples). It has been observed that the proposed DELM has the highest precision rate of 91.25%. Simulation results validate the prediction effectiveness of the proposed DELM strategy.

Giving no attention to requirement change management challenges result in consumers’ discontent. Main cause of business products is that there is no planning regarding requirement change management. Furthermore, it also affects market value. Dealing in requirement change management, it’s far important to cope with those challenges to undertake the requirement of the business consumers. This article focuses on documentation and control of quality requirement challenges by using an approach of systematic literature review. The main goal of this article is to classify critical challenges being faced by vendor companies in global software development. A total of fourteen challenges have been documented which have a severe effect on the management of quality requirements. Challenges documented like ‘Incomplete requirements’, ‘Lack of Communication & Coordination, etc. are the key challenges harming managing quality requirement changes. Among these fourteen challenges, nine challenges are marked as critical challenges whose ratios are above 25%. The identified challenges were analyzed decade wise where we categorized them into three decades i.e. first decade (1992-2002), the second decade (2003-2012), and the third decade (2013-2021).

In the medical field, it is essential to predict diseases early to prevent them. Diabetes is one of the most dangerous diseases all over the world. In modern lifestyles, sugar and fat are typically present in our dietary habits, which have increased the risk of diabetes. To predict the disease, it is extremely important to understand its symptoms. Currently, machine-learning (ML) algorithms are valuable for disease detection. This article presents a model using a fused machine learning approach for diabetes prediction. The conceptual framework consists of two types of models: Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) models. These models analyze the dataset to determine whether a diabetes diagnosis is positive or negative. The dataset used in this research is divided into training data and testing data with a ratio of 70:30 respectively. The output of these models becomes the input membership function for the fuzzy model, whereas the fuzzy logic finally determines whether a diabetes diagnosis is positive or negative. A cloud storage system stores the fused models for future use. Based on the patient’s real-time medical record, the fused model predicts whether the patient is diabetic or not. The proposed fused ML model has a prediction accuracy of 94.87, which is higher than the previously published methods.

Visually impaired persons (VIPs) comprise a significant portion of the population and they are present in all corners of the world. In recent times, the technology proved its presence in every domain of life and innovative devices are assisting humans in all fields especially, artificial intelligence has dominated and outperformed the rest of the trades. VIPs need assistance in performing daily life tasks like object/obstacle detection and recognition, navigation, and mobility, particularly in indoor and outdoor environments. Moreover, the protection and safety of these people are of prime concern. Several devices and applications have been developed for the assistance of VIPs. Firstly, these devices take input from the surrounding environment through different sensors e.g. infrared radiation, ultrasonic, imagery sensor, etc. In the second stage, state of the art machine learning techniques process these signals and extract useful information. Finally, feedback is provided to the user through auditory and/or vibratory means. It is observed that most of the existing devices are constrained in their abilities. The paper presents a comprehensive comparative analysis of the state-of-the-art assistive devices for VIPs. These techniques are categorized based on their functionality and working principles. The main attributes, challenges, and limitations of these techniques have also been highlighted. Moreover, a score-based quantitative analysis of these devices is performed to highlight their feature enrichment capability for each category. It may help to select an appropriate device for a particular scenario.

DevOps is a set of practices and a cultural movement that aims to break down barriers between development and operation teams to improve collaboration and communication. Different organizations have embraced DevOps principles due to the massive potential, such as a much shorter time to production, increased reliability and stability. However, despite the widespread adoption of DevOps and its infrastructure, there is a lack of understanding and literature on the key concepts, practices, tools, and challenges associated with implementing DevOps strategies. The main goal of this research paper is to explore and discuss challenges related to DevOps culture and practices. Moreover, it describes how DevOps works in an organization, provides a detailed explanation of DevOps, and investigates the cultural challenges that organizations face when implementing DevOps. The proposed paper reveals ten critical challenges that need to be addressed in adopting the DevOps culture. The challenges are further analyzed on the basis of the various continents. According to the findings, the following critical challenges are considered during the implementation of a DevOps culture: lack of collaboration and communication, Lack of skill and knowledge, complicated infrastructure, Lack of management, Lack of DevOps approach, and trust confidence problems.

Cancer accounts for a huge mortality rate due to its aggressiveness, colossal potential of metastasis, and heterogeneity (causing resistance against chemotherapy). Lung and colon cancers are among the most prevalent types of cancer around the globe that can occur in both males and females. Early and accurate diagnosis of these cancers can substantially improve the quality of treatment as well as the survival rate of cancer patients. We propose a highly accurate and computationally efficient model for the swift and accurate diagnosis of lung and colon cancers as an alternative to current cancer detection methods. In this study, a large dataset of lung and colon histopathology images was employed for training and the validation process. The dataset is comprised of 25000 histopathology images of lung and colon tissues equally divided into 5 classes. A pretrained neural network (AlexNet) was tuned by modifying the four of its layers before training it on the dataset. Initial classification results were promising for all classes of images except for one class with an overall accuracy of 89%. To improve the overall accuracy and keep the model computationally efficient, instead of implementing image enhancement techniques on the entire dataset, the quality of images of the underperforming class was improved by applying a contrast enhancement technique which is fairly simple and efficient. The implementation of the proposed methodology has not only improved the overall accuracy from 89% to 98.4% but has also proved computationally efficient.

A major and essential issue in biomedical research is to predict genome disorder. Genome disorders cause multivariate diseases like cancer, dementia, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, leigh syndrome, etc. which are causes of high mortality rates around the world. In past, theoretical and explanatory-based approaches were introduced to predict genome disorder. With the development of technology, genetic data were improved to cover almost genome and protein then machine and deep learning-based approaches were introduced to predict genome disorder. Parallel machine and deep learning approaches were introduced. In past, many types of research were conducted on genome disorder prediction using supervised, unsupervised, and semi-supervised learning techniques, most of the approaches using binary problem prediction using genetic sequence data. The prediction results of these approaches were uncertain because of their lower accuracy rate and binary class prediction techniques using genome sequence data but not genome disorder patients’ data with his/her history. Most of the techniques used Ribonucleic acid (RNA) gene sequence and were not often capable of handling bid data effectively. Consequently, in this study, the AlexNet as an effective convolutional neural network architecture proposed to develop an advance genome disorder prediction model (AGDPM) for predicting genome multi classes disorder using a large amount of data. AGDPM tested and compare with the pre-trained AlexNet neural network model and AGDPM gives the best results with 89.89% & 81.25% accuracy of training and testing respectively. So, the advance genome disorder prediction model shows the ability to efficiently predict genome disorder and can process a large amount of patients’ genome disorder data with a multi-class prediction method. AGDPM has proved that it is capable to predict single gene inheritance disorder, mitochondrial gene inheritance disorder, and multifactorial gene inheritance disorder with respect to various statistical performance parameters. So, with the help of AGDPM biomedical research will be improved in terms to predict genetic disorders and put control on high mortality rates.

Introduction: Since the 1960s, lasers have been used in dentistry, and their clinical uses have been evaluated. Many dental procedures involve lasers, which are noted for their simplicity, efficiency, comfort, and superiority over older methods. Lasers have been employed in various therapy approaches, from identifying small caries to planning and treating more severe lesions or cancers. Methodology: To conduct a comprehensive search for our systematic review, we employed three search engines: PubMed, Cochrane, and Google Scholar. Following combinations; Lasers [general dentistry], Laser [soft tissue], and Laser [hard tissue], published in the last five years. After applying inclusion-exclusion criteria, 46 original articles were studied in detail. Objective: The systematic review aimed to study the long-term outcomes of lasers on soft and hard tissues in dentistry. Result: Tooth decay, gum disease, biopsy or lesion removal, teeth whitening, and other procedures are performed using lasers. Lasers are frequently utilized because they cause less pain, require less anesthesia and avoid anxiety in patients who are afraid of dental drills and instruments. Conclusion: Laser technology in clinical dentistry practice is currently at an advanced stage of development and has a bright future. With the expanding use of lasers on both hard and soft tissue in clinical dentistry, treatment planning and prognosis have significantly improved.

Cancer is a major public health issue in the modern world. Breast cancer is a type of cancer that starts in the breast and spreads to other parts of the body. One of the most common types of cancer that kill women is breast cancer. When cells become uncontrollably large, cancer develops. There are various types of breast cancer. The proposed model discussed benign and malignant breast cancer. In computer-aided diagnosis systems, the identification and classification of breast cancer using histopathology and ultrasound images are critical steps. Investigators have demonstrated the ability to automate the initial level identification and classification of the tumor throughout the last few decades. Breast cancer can be detected early, allowing patients to obtain proper therapy and thereby increase their chances of survival. Deep learning (DL), machine learning (ML), and transfer learning (TL) techniques are used to solve many medical issues. There are several scientific studies in the previous literature on the categorization and identification of cancer tumors using various types of models but with some limitations. However, research is hampered by the lack of a dataset. The proposed methodology is created to help with the automatic identification and diagnosis of breast cancer. Our main contribution is that the proposed model used the transfer learning technique on three datasets, A, B, C, and A2, A2 is the dataset A with two classes. In this study, ultrasound images and histopathology images are used. The model used in this work is a customized CNN-AlexNet, which was trained according to the requirements of the datasets. This is also one of the contributions of this work. The results have shown that the proposed system empowered with transfer learning achieved the highest accuracy than the existing models on datasets A, B, C, and A2.

Objective: This study aimed to assess in vitro bioactivity of novel remineralizing dental composites loaded with calcium phosphate fillers and chlorhexidine in polypropylene glycol (PPG) resin matrix. Methods: The stock monomer was prepared by adding 69.75% urethane dimethacrylate and 23.25% of the polypropylene glycol dimethacrylate with silica fillers, chlorhexidine (5 wt%), and varying levels of calcium phosphate fillers. The study groups were BC (basic composite), commercial control, CHX-CP5, CHX-CP10, and CHX-CP15, respectively. Bioactivity was assessed by placing samples in the simulated body fluid (SBF) for 7, 14, and 28 days and observed under the scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. Data were presented in mean and percentage with a 95% confidence interval. Intergroup analysis was performed using one-way ANOVA and the p-value was set ≤0.05. Results: The SEM images showed the deposition of calcium phosphate on the surface of CHX-CP10 and CHX-CP15 after 28 days in SBF. Mineral deposits of calcium and phosphate were observed on the surface of the experimental formulation containing higher calcium phosphate fillers (CP10 and CP15) in EDX. Conclusion: The addition of calcium phosphate fillers to the composites resulted in an apatite layer formed and demonstrated enhanced bioactivity in the presence of PPGDMA and CHX.

Distributed Generation (DG) based on Renewable Energy Sources (RES) are considered as an effective and economical technology for the advancement of an Electric Power System (EPS) to fulfill the load demand. Mostly, studies pertaining to DG planning are performed while considering constant load demand and DG generation. However, these considerations may provide misleading and inconsistent values for loss reduction, voltage profile, power quality, and other operational parameters. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel framework to determine the impact of different Time Varying Voltage Dependent (TVVD) load models on wind DG planning study. Firstly, wind DG optimal allocation is performed using Salp Swarm Algorithm (SSA) for different TVVD load models. Afterwards, impact of different TVVD load models on wind DG planning is investigated. Comparative evaluation of various impact indices, real and reactive power (losses and intakes), penetration level, and apparent power support provided due to integration of wind DG are discussed for various TVVD loads. The analysis of results indicates that TVVD loads have a significant impact on performance of distribution system and DG planning studies.

The development of highly efficient models of Photovoltaic (PV) cells and modules is essential for optimized performance, evaluation and control of solar PV systems. The accurate estimation of PV cells parameters is a challenging task because of their non-linear characteristics. In this paper, an improved variant of Flower Pollination Algorithm (FPA) is proposed for accurate estimation of PV cells and modules parameters. The proposed algorithm involves double exponential based dynamic switch probability and a dynamic step size function that mitigate the limitations of conventional FPA. The dynamic switch probability improves the overall performance of algorithm by maintaining a balance between local and global search, while dynamic step function controls the search speed which avoids premature convergence and local optima stagnation. Moreover, Newton Raphson Method is utilized for accurate computation of estimated current for optimum set of estimated parameters. The proposed methodology is evaluated using seven benchmark functions and three case studies; 1- RTC France silicon PV cell, 2- Photo-watt PWP-201 PV module and 3- a practical solar PV system (EAGLE PERC 60M 310W monocrystalline PV module) under different environmental conditions by estimating parameters for single and double diode models. The analysis of results indicates that, the proposed approach improves the convergence speed, precision, avoids premature convergence and stagnation in local optima of conventional FPA. Furthermore, comparative analysis of results illustrates that, the proposed approach is more reliable and efficient than many other techniques in literature.

With the tremendous demand for connectivity anywhere and anytime, existing network architectures should be modified. To cope with the challenges that arise due to the increasing flood of devices/users and a diverse range of application requirements, new technologies and concepts must be integrated to enable their benefits. Service providers and business companies are looking for new areas of research to enhance overall system performance. This article gives a detailed survey about the recent 5G technologies, the solutions they provide, and the effect caused by their addition to current cellular networks. It is based on the three most important 5G concepts: Device to Device (D2D), Network Slicing (NS), and Mobile Edge Computing (MEC). This study proposes to design the future 5G networks by the integration of all three technologies. It is believed that spectrum efficiency, energy efficiency, and overall throughput will be greatly improved by using D2D. The system delay and computational load will be reduced as tasks will be handled by edge routers located at the base stations. Thus offloading the core network and the system capital expenses and operational expenses will be reduced significantly by slicing the network.

Recent advances in the domain of software defect prediction (SDP) include the integration of multiple classification techniques to create an ensemble or hybrid approach. This technique was introduced to improve the prediction performance by overcoming the limitations of any single classification technique. This research provides a systematic literature review on the use of the ensemble learning approach for software defect prediction. The review is conducted after critically analyzing research papers published since 2012 in four well-known online libraries: ACM, IEEE, Springer Link, and Science Direct. In this study, five research questions covering the different aspects of research progress on the use of ensemble learning for software defect prediction are addressed. To extract the answers to identified questions, 46 most relevant papers are shortlisted after a thorough systematic research process. This study will provide compact information regarding the latest trends and advances in ensemble learning for software defect prediction and provide a baseline for future innovations and further reviews. Through our study, we discovered that frequently employed ensemble methods by researchers are the random forest, boosting, and bagging. Less frequently employed methods include stacking, voting and Extra Trees. Researchers proposed many promising frameworks, such as EMKCA, SMOTE-Ensemble, MKEL, SDAEsTSE, TLEL, and LRCR, using ensemble learning methods. The AUC, accuracy, F-measure, Recall, Precision, and MCC were mostly utilized to measure the prediction performance of models. WEKA was widely adopted as a platform for machine learning. Many researchers showed through empirical analysis that features selection, and data sampling was necessary pre-processing steps that improve the performance of ensemble classifiers.

Shill Bidding (SB) occurs when the fake bidders are introduced by the seller’s side to increase the final price. SB is a crime committed during the e-Auction, and it is pretty difficult to detect because of its normal bidding behavior. The bidder gets a lot of loss because he pays extra money, and the sellers benefit from shill bidding, so this article proposed a fusion base model. This proposed model is split into two parts training and validation, into 70 and 30 percent. This model has been divided into three sub-modules; the first module, two machine learning algorithms named Support vector machine (SVM), and Artificial neural network (ANN) trained parallel on the same dataset and predicting the bidding fraud. The prediction of these models becomes the input of the fuzzy-based fussed module, and fuzzy decide the actual output based on SVM and ANN predictions. On every bid, it predicts whether the fraud is committed or not. If the bidding behavior is normal, continue the bidding; otherwise, cancel the bid and block the user. The prediction accuracy of the proposed fussed machine learning approach is 99.63%. Simulation results have shown that the proposed fussed machine learning approach gives more attractive results than state-of-the-art published methods.
