Methods: Facility in Opuzen is equipped with 24 Mubarqui towers with all accessories for sterile males feeding and resting during holding and maturation process. Packing is conducted with use of the volumetric packing line and 40 - 45.000 sterile pupaes/level that ensure optimal density during holding process. Maturation of sterile males during holding process is improved by using of adult food that is sugar and natural protein mixture (Mubarqui adult food), placed in each level as a paste on PVC plates. Sterile males release is conducted by using of locally developed ground release machines with main disadvantage of inaccessibility to significant number of release routes. During 2017., UAV system of sterile male release has been developed by Mubarqui Company. Release device is 5, 5 liters holding container (0, 35 millions of chilled medfly males), with adjustable release rate gate and vibrating unit. The machine is controlled through Bluetooth by a tablet with Android Operating System including navigation system (MaxNav software, Mubarqui). Results: The introduction of new methods and sophisticated equipment into holding and maturation process as well as the release equipment described above, resulted in a significant increase in the quality of sterile males measured through QC tests performed, especially adult weight after chilling and percent of absolute fliers after chilling.
