8. Predictive roles of coping and resilience for the perceived stress in nurses.

Abstract

Introduction: Nursing profession is physically and emotionally demanding Purpose: To determine the relationship between coping strategies and resilience, as well as perceived stress among nurses. Materials and methods: The study included 173 nurses from Świętokrzyskie province. Examination material was collected using the following tools: the Perceived Stress Questionnaire (KPS), The Resiliency Assessment Scale (SPP - 25), the Brief COPE Results: Among nurses emotion-focused strategies, such as: denial, self-blame and seeking emotions, positively correlated with the perceived stress. Resilience, and particularly personal skills to cope with and tolerate negative emotions, negatively correlated with the perceived stress. Conclusions: Resilience, to a lesser extent than coping strategies contributed to determination of the level of perceived stress. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

31. Temperature field of a double squirrel-cage motor during startup.

Abstract

During startup an electric motor can be subject to severe electrical and thermal loads. These loads, despite their relatively short durations, significantly affect motor's lifetime and reliability. The use of the double squirrel-cage arrangement has resulted in the improvement of the startup coefficients for induction motors. However, the cage is still subject to non-uniform thermal loads and, in consequence, to overheating. These transient loads are particularly heavy during a prolonged startup, routinely encountered under tough industrial operating conditions, for example when attempting to start a motor with a locked rotor. Typical examples are starting a motor powering a longwall shearer buried under a collapsed coal face or an overloaded coal mill. A methodology is presented to compute the temperature field of a double squirrel-cage and the core of an induction motor. The procedure employs a three-dimensional model of the motor heating obtained using the control volume method. The model provides the basis for calculating the stress field within the cage. The input data to the model can be obtained from the motor windings specification sheet. The thermomechanical analyses can be performed during the design and construction phases, and may facilitate motor performance optimisation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

41. Ferroelectricity and phase transitions in highly deuterated NH4HSeO4 crystals

Abstract

Investigations of dielectric and pyroelectric properties as well as domain structure of 70% deuterated ammonium hydrogen selenate crystals have been carried out. Physical properties of 70% dauterated crystals grown in 12 phase differ considerably from that grown in P212121 phase. Dielectric anomaly is observed that the paraelectric-incommensurate phase transition.

43. Dielectric, pyroelectric, X-ray studies and phase transition in (NH4)6Sb4(SO4)3F12 single crystals

Abstract

(NH4)6Sb4(SO4)3F12 single crystals were grown and their dielectric and pyroelectric properties were studied in the temperature range 80-300 K. Room temperature X-ray studies showed that the crystals belong to the trigonal space group P3. On the ground of dielectric and pyroelectric measurements the crystals were found to undergo a first-order phase transition at 92 K. It was evident that the crystals exhibit pyroelectric properties both in the room temperature and low temperature phase. Thus, the observed phase transition occurs between two pyroelectric phases.
