Abstract

Structure functions, as measured in lepton-nucleon scattering, have proven to be very useful in studying the quark dynamics within the nucleon. However, it is experimentally difficult to separately determine the longitudinal and transverse structure functions, and consequently there are substantially less data available for the longitudinal structure function in particular. Here we present separated structure functions for hydrogen and deuterium at low four--momentum transfer squared, Q^2< 1 GeV^2, and compare these with parton distribution parameterizations and a k_T factorization approach. While differences are found, the parameterizations generally agree with the data even at the very low Q^2 scale of the data. The deuterium data show a smaller longitudinal structure function, and smaller ratio of longitudinal to transverse cross section R, than the proton. This suggests either an unexpected difference in R for the proton and neutron or a suppression of the gluonic distribution in nuclei., Comment: 11 pages, 7 figures, 2 data tables

Abstract

Using the entire CLEO-c psi(3770) to DDbar event sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 818 pb^-1 and approximately 5.4 x 10^6 DDbar events, we measure the form factors for the decays D0 to rho- e+ nu_e and D+ to rho0 e+ nu_e for the first time and the branching fractions with improved precision. A four-dimensional unbinned maximum likelihood fit determines the form factor ratios to be: V(0)/A_1(0) = 1.48 +- 0.15 +- 0.05 and A_2(0)/A_1(0)= 0.83 +- 0.11 +- 0.04. Assuming CKM unitarity, the known D meson lifetimes and our measured branching fractions we obtain the form factor normalizations A_1(0), A_2(0), and V(0). Abstract

We present the results of a Dalitz plot analysis of D^0 to K^0_S pi^0 pi^0 using the CLEO-c data set of 818 inverse pico-barns of e^+ e^- collisions accumulated at sqrt{s} = 3.77 GeV. This corresponds to three million D^0 D^0-bar pairs from which we select 1,259 tagged candidates with a background of 7.5 +- 0.9 percent. Several models have been explored, all of which include the K^*(892), K^*_2(1430), K^*(1680), the f_0(980), and the sigma(500). We find that the combined pi^0 pi^0 S-wave contribution to our preferred fit is (28.9 +- 6.3 +- 3.1)% of the total decay rate while D^0 to K^*(892)^0 pi^0 contributes (65.6 +- 5.3 +- 2.5)%. Using three tag modes and correcting for quantum correlations we measure the D^0 to K^0_S pi^0 pi^0 branching fraction to be (1.059 +- 0.038 +- 0.061)%., Comment: 11 pages, 3 figures, available through http://www.lns.cornell.edu/public/CLNS/, submitted to PRD

Abstract

We present the first search for the decay $D^+_{s}\to \omega e^{+}\nu$ to test the four-quark content of the $D^+_{s}$ and the $\omega$-$\phi$ mixing model for this decay. We use 586 $\mathrm{pb}^{-1}$ of $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 4170 MeV. We find no evidence of a signal, and set an upper limit on the branching fraction of $\mathcal{B}(D^+_{s}\to\omega e^+\nu)<$0.20% at the 90% confidence level., Comment: 18 pages, 9 figures

Abstract

Using 586 $\textrm{pb}^{-1}$ of $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data acquired at $\sqrt{s}=4.170$ GeV with the CLEO-c detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we report the first observation of $D_{s}^{*+} \to D_{s}^{+} e^{+} e^{-}$ with a significance of $5.3 \sigma$. The ratio of branching fractions $\calB(D_{s}^{*+} \to D_{s}^{+} e^{+} e^{-}) / \calB(D_{s}^{*+} \to D_{s}^{+} \gamma)$ is measured to be $[ 0.72^{+0.15}_{-0.13} (\textrm{stat}) \pm 0.10 (\textrm{syst})]%$, which is consistent with theoretical expectations.

Abstract

Using 586pb^-1 of e^+e^- collision data at E_CM = 4170MeV, produced at the CESR collider and collected with the CLEO-c detector, we observe the process e^+e^- --> pi^+ pi^- h_c(1P). We measure its cross section to be 15.6+-2.3+-1.9+-3.0pb, where the third error is due to the external uncertainty on the branching fraction of psi(2S) --> pi^0 h_c(1P), which we use for normalization. Abstract

A large set of cross sections for semi-inclusive electroproduction of charged pions ($\pi^\pm$) from both proton and deuteron targets was measured. The data are in the deep-inelastic scattering region with invariant mass squared $W^2$ > 4 GeV$^2$ and range in four-momentum transfer squared $2 < Q^2 < 4$ (GeV/c)$^2$, and cover a range in the Bjorken scaling variable 0.2 < x < 0.6. The fractional energy of the pions spans a range 0.3 < z < 1, with small transverse momenta with respect to the virtual-photon direction, $P_t^2 < 0.2$ (GeV/c)$^2$. The invariant mass that goes undetected, $M_x$ or W', is in the nucleon resonance region, W' < 2 GeV. The new data conclusively show the onset of quark-hadron duality in this process, and the relation of this phenomenon to the high-energy factorization ansatz of electron-quark scattering and subsequent quark --> pion production mechanisms. The x, z and $P_t^2$ dependences of several ratios (the ratios of favored-unfavored fragmentation functions, charged pion ratios, deuteron-hydrogen and aluminum-deuteron ratios for $\pi^+$ and $\pi^-$) have been studied. The ratios are found to be in good agreement with expectations based upon a high-energy quark-parton model description. We find the azimuthal dependences to be small, as compared to exclusive pion electroproduction, and consistent with theoretical expectations based on tree-level factorization in terms of transverse-momentum-dependent parton distribution and fragmentation functions. In the context of a simple model, the initial transverse momenta of $d$ quarks are found to be slightly smaller than for $u$ quarks, while the transverse momentum width of the favored fragmentation function is about the same as for the unfavored one, and both fragmentation widths are larger than the quark widths.

Abstract

We report on a study of exclusive radiative decays of the Upsilon(1S) resonance into a final state consisting of a photon and two K0s candidates. We find evidence for a signal for Upsilon(1S)->gamma f_2'(1525); f_2'(1525)->K0sK0s, at a rate (4.0+/-1.3+/-0.6)x10^{-5}, consistent with previous observations of Upsilon(1S)->gamma f_2'(1525); f_2'(1525)->K+K-, and isospin. Combining this branching fraction with existing branching fraction measurements of Upsilon(1S)->gamma f_2'(1525) and J/psi->gamma f_2'(1525), we obtain the ratio of branching fractions: B(Upsilon(1S)->gamma f_2'(1525))/B(J/psi->gamma f_2'(1525))=0.09+/-0.02, approximately consistent with expectations based on soft collinear effective theory., Comment: submitted to Brief Reports

Abstract

Using 9.32, 5.88 million Upsilon(2S,3S) decays taken with the CLEO-III detector, we obtain five product branching fractions for the exclusive processes Upsilon(2S) => gamma chi_{b0,1,2}(1P) => gamma gamma Upsilon(1S) and Upsilon(3S) => gamma chi_{b1,2}(1P) => gamma gamma Upsilon(1S). We observe the transition chi_{b0}(1P) => gamma Upsilon(1S) for the first time. Using the known branching fractions for B[Upsilon(2S) => gamma chi_{bJ}(1P)], we extract values for B[chi_{bJ}(1P) => gamma Upsilon(1S)] for J=0, 1, 2. In turn, these values can be used to unfold the Upsilon(3S) product branching fractions to obtain values for B[Upsilon(3S) => gamma chi_{b1,2}(1P) for the first time individually. Abstract

We report the first observation of the decay D^+ -> eta' e^+ nu_e in two analyses, which combined provide a branching fraction of B(D+ -> eta' e nu) = (2.16 +/- 0.53 +/- 0.07) x 10^{-4}. Abstract

We report the first determination of the relative strong-phase difference between D^0 -> K^0_S,L K^+ K^- and D^0-bar -> K^0_S,L K^+ K^-. In addition, we present updated measurements of the relative strong-phase difference between D^0 -> K^0_S,L pi^+ pi^- and D^0-bar -> K^0_S,L pi^+ pi^-. Both measurements exploit the quantum coherence between a pair of D^0 and D^0-bar mesons produced from psi(3770) decays. The strong-phase differences measured are important for determining the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angle gamma/phi_3 in B^- -> K^- D^0-tilde decays, where D^0-tilde is a D^0 or D^0-bar meson decaying to K^0_S h^+ h^- (h=pi,K), in a manner independent of the model assumed to describe the D^0 -> K^0_S h^+ h^- decay. Using our results, the uncertainty in gamma/phi_3 due to the error on the strong-phase difference is expected to be between 1.7 and 3.9 degrees for an analysis using B^- K^- D^0-tilde D^0-tilde -> K^0_S pi^+ pi^- decays, and between 3.2 and 3.9 degrees for an analysis based on B^- -> K^- D^0-tilde, D^0-tilde -> K^0_S K^+ K^- decays. A measurement is also presented of the CP-odd fraction, F_-, of the decay D^0 -> K^0_S K^+ K^- in the region of the phi -> K^+ K^- resonance. Abstract

We have searched for flavor-changing neutral current decays and lepton-number-violating decays of D^+ and D^+_s mesons to final states of the form h^+- e^-+ e^+, where h is either \pi or K. We use the complete samples of CLEO-c open-charm data, corresponding to integrated luminosities of 818 pb^-1 at the center-of-mass energy E_CM = 3.774 GeV containing 2.4 x 10^6 D^+D^- pairs and 602 pb^-1 at E_CM = 4.170 GeV containing 0.6 x 10^6 D^*+-_s D^-+_s pairs. No signal is observed in any channel, and we obtain 90% confidence level upper limits on branching fractions B(D^+ --> \pi^+ e^+ e^-) < 5.9 x 10^-6, B(D^+ --> \pi^- e^+ e^+) < 1.1 x 10^-6, B(D^+ --> K^+ e^+ e^-) < 3.0 x 10^-6, B(D^+ --> K^- e^+ e^+) < 3.5 x 10^-6, B(D^+_s --> \pi^+ e^+ e^-) < 2.2 x 10^-5, B(D^+_s --> \pi^- e^+ e^+) < 1.8 x 10^-5, B(D^+_s --> K^+ e^+ e^-) < 5.2 x 10^-5, and B(D^+_s --> K^- e^+ e^+) < 1.7 x 10^-5., Comment: 9 pages, available through http://www.lns.cornell.edu/public/CLNS/

Abstract

The decays of psi(2S) into gamma p bar{p}, pi^0 p bar{p} and eta p bar{p} have been studied with the CLEO-c detector using a sample of 24.5 million psi(2S) events obtained from e^+e^- annihilations at sqrt{s} = 3686 MeV. The data show evidence for the excitation of several N^* resonances in p pi^0 and p eta channels in pi^0 p bar{p} and eta p bar{p} decays, and f_2 states in gamma p bar{p} decay. Branching fractions for decays of psi(2S) to gamma p bar{p}, pi^0 p bar{p} and eta p bar{p} have been determined. No evidence for p bar{p} threshold enhancements was found in the reactions psi(2S)-> X p bar{p}, where X = gamma, pi^0, eta. We do, however, find confirming evidence for a p bar{p} threshold enhancement in J/psi-> gamma p bar{p} as previously reported by BES., Comment: 25 pages, 21 figures, accepted by PRD

Abstract

Using a sample of 25.9 million psi(2S) decays acquired with the CLEO-c detector at the CESR e^+e^- collider, we report branching fractions for the decays chi_cJ -> p p-bar pi^0, p p-bar eta, and p p-bar omega, with J=0,1,2. Our results for B(chi_cJ-> p p-bar pi^0) and B(chi_cJ-> p p-bar eta) are consistent with, but more precise than, previous measurements. Abstract

Using a large sample (~11800 events) of D^+ into K^- pi^+ e^+ nu_e and D^+ into K^- pi^+ mu^+ nu_mu decays collected by the CLEO-c detector running at the psi(3770), we measure the helicity basis form factors free from the assumptions of spectroscopic pole dominance and provide new, accurate measurements of the absolute branching fractions for D^+ into K^- pi^+ e^+ nu_e and D^+ into K^- pi^+ mu^+ nu_mu decays. We find branching fractions which are consistent with previous world averages. Our measured helicity basis form factors are consistent with the spectroscopic pole dominance predictions for the three main helicity basis form factors describing D^+ into anti-K*0 ell^+ nu_mu decay. The ability to analyze D^+ into K^- pi^+ mu^+ nu_mu allows us to make the first non-parametric measurements of the mass-suppressed form factor. Our result is inconsistent with existing Lattice QCD calculations. Finally, we measure the form factor that controls non-resonant s-wave interference with the D^+ into anti-K*0 ell^+ nu_mu amplitude and search for evidence of possible additional non-resonant d-wave or f-wave interference with the anti-K*0., Comment: We have made the replacement in order to make it clear that the branching fractions that we report are actually for D+ --> antiK*0 L+ nu decay. Hence, the branching fractions for D+ --> K+ pi L+ nu that we measure are corrected for the missing antiK*0 --> anti-K0 pi0 decay mode of the anti-K*0. We feel that this clarification is necessary.

Abstract

We report evidence for the ground state of bottomonium, eta_b(1S), in the radiative decay Upsilon(3S) --> gamma eta_b in e^+e^- annihilation data taken with the CLEO III detector. Using 6 million Upsilon(3S) decays, and assuming Gamma(eta_b) = 10 MeV/c^2, we obtain B(Upsilon(3S) --> gamma eta_b) = (7.1 +- 1.8 +- 1.1) X 10^{-4}, where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic. The statistical significance is about 4 sigma. The mass is determined to be M(eta_b) = 9391.8 +- 6.6 +- 2.0 MeV/c^2, which corresponds to the hyperfine splitting Delta M_{hf}(1S)_b = 68.5 +- 6.6 +- 2.0 MeV/c^2. Using 9 million Upsilon(2S) decays, we place an upper limit on the corresponding Y(2S) decay, B(Y(2S) --> gamma eta_b) < 8.4 X 10^{-4} at 90 % confidence level., Comment: 10 pages, 3 figures, accepted by Phyical Review D Rapid Communications

Abstract

The differential cross-section for the process p(e,e'p)eta has been measured at Q2 ~ 5.7 and 7.0 (GeV/c)2 for centre-of-mass energies from threshold to 1.8 GeV, encompassing the S11(1535) resonance, which dominates the channel. This is the highest momentum transfer measurement of this exclusive process to date. The helicity-conserving transition amplitude A_1/2, for the production of the S11(1535) resonance, is extracted from the data. Abstract

We report the first observation of the decay J/psi-->3gamma. The signal has a statistical significance of 6sigma and corresponds to a branching fraction of B(J/psi-->3gamma)=(1.2+/-0.3+/-0.2)x10;{-5}, in which the errors are statistical and systematic, respectively. The measurement uses psi(2S)-->pi;{+}pi;{-}J/psi events acquired with the CLEO-c detector operating at the CESR e;{+}e;{-} collider.

20. Measurement of the η′-meson mass using J/ ψ→γη′

Abstract

We measure the mass of the η′ meson using ψ(2S) →π+π-J/ψ, J/ψ→γη′ events acquired with the CLEO-c detector operating at the CESR e+e- collider. Using three decay modes, η′→ρ0γ, η′→π+π-η with η→γγ, and η′→π+π-η with η→π+π-π0, we find Mη′=957.793±0.054±0. 036MeV, in which the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. This result is consistent with but substantially more precise than the current world average. © 2008 The American Physical Society.

Abstract

We report determination of branching fractions for the decays ψ(2S)→h+J/ψ, where h=any, π+π-, π0π0, η, π0, and γγ through χc0,1,2. These measurements use 27M ψ(2S) decays produced in e+e- collision data collected with the CLEO detector. The resulting branching fractions and ratios thereof improve upon previously achieved precision in all cases, and in combination with other measurements permit determination of B(χcJ→γJ/ψ) and B(ψ(2S)→light hadrons). © 2008 The American Physical Society.

22. Observation of the Dalitz Decay $D_{s}^{*+} \to D_{s}^{+} e^{+} e^{-}$

Abstract

Using 586 $\textrm{pb}^{-1}$ of $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data acquired at $\sqrt{s}=4.170$ GeV with the CLEO-c detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we report the first observation of $D_{s}^{*+} \to D_{s}^{+} e^{+} e^{-}$ with a significance of $5.3 \sigma$. The ratio of branching fractions $\calB(D_{s}^{*+} \to D_{s}^{+} e^{+} e^{-}) / \calB(D_{s}^{*+} \to D_{s}^{+} \gamma)$ is measured to be $[ 0.72^{+0.15}_{-0.13} (\textrm{stat}) \pm 0.10 (\textrm{syst})]%$, which is consistent with theoretical expectations.

Using data collected on the psi(3770) resonance and near the Ds*+ Ds- peak production energy by the CLEO-c detector, we study the decays of the possible D->PP modes and report measurements of or upper limits on all branching fractions for Cabibbo-favored, singly-Cabibbo-suppressed, and doubly-Cabibbo-suppressed D->PP decays except modes involving K0L (and except D0->K+ pi-). Abstract

The beauty to up quark coupling constant |V(ub)| can be extracted from B → ρ e+ ν(e) combined with the form factors for D → K* e+ ν(e) and B → V ℓ+ ℓ- and D → ρ e+ ν(e). Using the entire CLEO-c ψ(3770) → DD event sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 818 pb(-1) and approximately 5.4×10(6) DD events, we measure the form factors for the decays D0 → ρ- e+ ν(e) and D+ → ρ0 e+ ν(e) for the first time and the branching fractions with improved precision. A four-dimensional unbinned maximum likelihood fit determines the form factor ratios to be V(0)/A1(0)=1.48±0.15±0.05 and A2(0)/A1(0)=0.83±0.11±0.04. Assuming Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa unitarity, the known D meson lifetimes, and our measured branching fractions we obtain the form factor normalizations A1(0), A2(0), and V(0). We also present a measurement of the branching fraction for D+ → ω e+ ν(e) with improved precision.

Using data collected near the Ds* ± Ds Ds peak production energy E cm 4170 MeV by the CLEO-c detector, we search for Ds+ exclusive hadronic decays involving. We find B Ds+ n+ w 0.21 ± 0.09 ± %, B Ds+ n+ 2.78 ± 0.65 ± 0.25 %, Ds+ n+ n+ n- 1.58 ± 0.09%. Ds+ n+ 0.85± 0.54 ± 0.06%. K+. n+ n- 0.54%, and The upper limits are at 90% confidence level.

26. Study of D0→π-e+νe, D+→π0e+νe, D0→K-e+νe, and D+→K̄0e+νe in tagged decays of the ψ(3770) resonance

Abstract

Using ψ(3770)→DD̄ events collected with the CLEO-c detector at the Cornell e+e- storage ring, tagged by fully reconstructing one D meson in a hadronic decay mode, we measure absolute branching fractions and differential decay rates for D0→π-e+νe, D+→π0e+νe, D0→K-e+νe, and D+→K̄0e+νe. The measured decay rates are used to study semileptonic form factors governing these transitions and to test unquenched Lattice QCD (LQCD) calculations. We average our results with previously published CLEO-c measurements of the same quantities using a neutrino reconstruction technique. Combining LQCD calculations of form factor absolute normalizations f+(0) and measurements of f+π(0)|Vcd| and f+K(0)|Vcs|, we find |Vcd|=0.222(8)(3)(23) and |Vcs|=1.018(10)(8)(106), where the uncertainties are statistical, experimental systematic, and from LQCD, respectively. © 2009 The American Physical Society.

Abstract

We report on a study of exclusive radiative decays of the Upsilon(1S) resonance into a final state consisting of a photon and two K0s candidates. We find evidence for a signal for Upsilon(1S)->gamma f_2'(1525); f_2'(1525)->K0sK0s, at a rate (4.0+/-1.3+/-0.6)x10^{-5}, consistent with previous observations of Upsilon(1S)->gamma f_2'(1525); f_2'(1525)->K+K-, and isospin. Combining this branching fraction with existing branching fraction measurements of Upsilon(1S)->gamma f_2'(1525) and J/psi->gamma f_2'(1525), we obtain the ratio of branching fractions: B(Upsilon(1S)->gamma f_2'(1525))/B(J/psi->gamma f_2'(1525))=0.09+/-0.02, approximately consistent with expectations based on soft collinear effective theory.

Abstract

Using a sample of 2.59x10{sup 7} {psi}(2S) decays collected by the CLEO-c detector, we present results of a study of {chi}{sub cJ} (J=0, 1, 2) decays into baryon-antibaryon final states. We present the world's most precise measurements of the {chi}{sub cJ}{yields}pp and {chi}{sub cJ}{yields}{lambda}{lambda} branching fractions, and the first measurements of {chi}{sub c0} decays to other hyperons. These results illuminate the decay mechanism of the {chi}{sub c} states.

We present the first search for the decay $D^+_{s}\to \omega e^{+}\nu$ to test the four-quark content of the $D^+_{s}$ and the $\omega$-$\phi$ mixing model for this decay. We use 586 $\mathrm{pb}^{-1}$ of $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 4170 MeV. We find no evidence of a signal, and set an upper limit on the branching fraction of $\mathcal{B}(D^+_{s}\to\omega e^+\nu)

32. Search for very light CP-odd Higgs Boson in radiative decays of Upsilon(1S)

Abstract

We search for a non-SM-like CP-odd Higgs boson (a(1)(0)) decaying to tau(+)tau(-) or mu(+)mu(-) in radiative decays of the Upsilon(1S). No significant signal is found, and upper limits on the product branching ratios are set. Our tau(+)tau(-) results are almost 2 orders of magnitude more stringent than previous upper limits. Our data provide no evidence for a Higgs state with a mass of 214 MeV decaying to mu(+)mu(-), previously proposed as an explanation for 3 Sigma(+)-->pmu(+)mu(-) events observed by the HyperCP experiment. Our results constrain NMSSM models.

33. Precision measurement of the mass of the hc(1P1) state of charmonium

Abstract

A precision measurement of the mass of the h_{c}(1P1) state of charmonium has been made using a sample of 24.5x10;{6} psi(2S) events produced in e;{+}e;{-} annihilation at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring (CESR). The reaction used was psi(2S)-->pi;{0}h_{c}, pi;{0}-->gammagamma, h_{c}-->gammaeta_{c}, and the reaction products were detected in the CLEO-c detector. Data have been analyzed both for the inclusive reaction and for the exclusive reactions in which eta_{c} decays are reconstructed in 15 hadronic decay channels. Consistent results are obtained in the two analyses. The averaged results of the present measurements are M(h_{c})=3525.28+/-0.19(stat.)+/-0.12(syst.) MeV, and B(psi(2S)-->pi;{0}h_{c})xB(h_{c}-->gammaeta_{c})=(4.19+/-0.32+/-0.45)x10;{-4}. Using the ;{3}P_{J} centroid mass, DeltaM_{hf}(1P) identical withM(chi_{cJ})-M(h_{c})=+0.02+/-0.19+/-0.13 MeV.

Abstract

Using e+e- collision data taken with the CLEO-c detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we have investigated the direct photon spectrum in the decay ψ(2S)→γgg. We determine the ratio of the inclusive direct photon decay rate to that of the dominant three-gluon decay rate ψ(2S)→ggg (Rγ≡⌈Γgg(γgg)/⌈(ggg)) to be Rγ(zγ>0.4)=0.070±0.002±0.019±0.011, with zγ defined as the scaled photon energy relative to the beam energy. 37. Observation of the h(c)(1P) Using e+ e- collisions above the DD threshold

Abstract

Using 586 pb(-1) of e+ e- collision data at E(c.m.) = 4170 MeV, produced at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring collider and collected with the CLEO-c detector, we observe the process e+ e- → π+ π- h(c)(1P). We measure its cross section to be 15.6±2.3±1.9±3.0 pb, where the third error is due to the external uncertainty on the branching fraction of ψ(2S) → π0 h(c)(1P), which we use for normalization. We also find evidence for e+ e- → ηh(c)(1P) at 4170 MeV at the 3σ level and see hints of a rise in the e+ e- → π+ π- h(c)(1P) cross section at 4260 MeV.

Abstract

We measure the mass of the eta;{'} meson using psi(2S)-->pi;{+}pi;{-}J/psi, J/psi-->gammaeta;{'} events acquired with the CLEO-c detector operating at the CESR e;{+}e;{-} collider. Using three decay modes, eta;{'}-->rho;{0}gamma, eta;{'}-->pi;{+}pi;{-}eta with eta-->gammagamma, and eta;{'}-->pi;{+}pi;{-}eta with eta-->pi;{+}pi;{-}pi;{0}, we find M_{eta;{'}}=957.793+/-0.054+/-0.036 MeV, in which the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. This result is consistent with but substantially more precise than the current world average.

Abstract

Using a sample of tagged D(s)(+) decays collected near the D(s)(*+/-)D(s)(-/+) peak production energy in e(+)e(-) collisions with the CLEO-c detector, we study the leptonic decay D(s)(+)-->tau(+)nu(tau) via the decay channel tau(+)-->e(+)nu(e)nu(tau). We measure B(D(s)(+)-->tau(+)nu(tau))=(6.17+/-0.71+/-0.34)%, where the first error is statistical and the second systematic. Combining this result with our measurements of D(s)(+)-->mu(+)nu(mu) and D(s)(+)-->tau(+)nu(tau) (via tau(+)-->pi(+)nu(tau)), we determine f(D(s))=(274+/-10+/-5) MeV.

Abstract

The beauty to up quark coupling constant |Vub| can be extracted from B??e+?e combined with the form factors for D?K*e+?e and B?V?+?- and D??e+? e. Using the entire CLEO-c ?(3770)?DD? event sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 818 pb-1 and approximately 5.4�106 DD? events, we measure the form factors for the decays D0??-e+?e and D +??0e+?e for the first time and the branching fractions with improved precision. A four-dimensional unbinned maximum likelihood fit determines the form factor ratios to be V(0)/A 1(0)=1.48�0.15�0.05 and A2(0)/A 1(0)=0.83�0.11�0.04. Assuming Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa unitarity, the known D meson lifetimes, and our measured branching fractions we obtain the form factor normalizations A1(0), A2(0), and V(0). We also present a measurement of the branching fraction for D +??e+?e with improved precision. � 2013 American Physical Society.

Abstract

Using 586pb -1 of e +e - collision data acquired at ?s=4.170GeV with the CLEO-c detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we report the first observation of Ds*+?Ds+e +e - with a significance of 5.3?. The ratio of branching fractions B(Ds*+?Ds+e +e -)/ B(Ds*+?Ds+?) is measured to be [0.72-0.13+0.15(stat)�0. 10(syst)]%, which is consistent with theoretical expectations. � 2012 American Physical Society.

Abstract

We present the first search for the decay $D^+_{s}\to \omega e^{+}\nu$ to test the four-quark content of the $D^+_{s}$ and the $\omega$-$\phi$ mixing model for this decay. We use 586 $\mathrm{pb}^{-1}$ of $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 4170 MeV. Abstract

Abstract

Using (9.32, 5.88) million Y(2S; 3S) decays taken with the CLEO III detector, we obtain five product branching fractions for the exclusive processes Y(2S) -> gamma chi(b0,1,2)(1P) -> gamma gamma Y(1S) and Y(3S) -> gamma chi(b1,2)(1P) -> gamma gamma Y(1S). We observe the transition chi(b0)(1P) -> yY(1S) for the first time. Using the known branching fractions for B[Y2S) -> gamma chi(bJ)(1P)], we extract values for B[chi(bJ)(1P) -> gamma Y(1S)] for J = 0, 1, 2. In turn, these values can be used to unfold the Y(3S) product branching fractions to obtain values for B[Y(3S) -> gamma chi(b1,2)(1P)] for the first time individually. Comparison of these with each other and with the branching fraction B[Y(3S) -> gamma chi(b0)] previously measured by CLEO provides tests of relativistic corrections to electric dipole matrix elements.

Abstract

We report on a study of exclusive radiative decays of the Υ(1S) resonance into a final state consisting of a photon and two KS0 candidates. We find evidence for a signal for Υ(1S)→γf2′(1525); f2′(1525)→γKS0KS0, at a rate B(Υ(1S) →γf2′(1525))=(4.0±1.3±0.6)×10-5, consistent with previous observations of Υ(1S)→γf2′(1525) ; f2′(1525)→K+K-, and isospin. Combining this branching fraction with existing branching fraction measurements of Υ(1S)→γf2′(1525) and J/ψ→γf2′(1525), we obtain the ratio of branching fractions: B(Υ(1S) →γf2′(1525))/B(J/ψ→γf2′(1525))=0. 09±0.02, approximately consistent with expectations based on soft-collinear effective theory. © 2011 American Physical Society.

Abstract

We present the results of a Dalitz plot analysis of D0?KS0?0?0 using the CLEO-c data set of 818pb-1 of e+e- collisions accumulated at ?s=3.77GeV. This corresponds to 3�106 D0D?0 pairs from which we select 1259 tagged candidates with a background of 7.5�0.9 percent. Several models have been explored, all of which include the K*(892), K2*(1430), K *(1680), the f0(980), and the ?(500). We find that the combined ?0?0 S-wave contribution to our preferred fit is (28.9�6.3�3.1)% of the total decay rate while D0?K ?*(892)0?0 contributes (65.6�5. 3�2.5)%. Using three tag modes and correcting for quantum correlations we measure the D0?KS0?0?0 branching fraction to be (1.058�0. 038�0.073)%. � 2011 American Physical Society.

Abstract

Using (9.32, 5.88) million ?(2S,3S) decays taken with the CLEO III detector, we obtain five product branching fractions for the exclusive processes ?(2S)???b0,1,2(1P)????(1S) and ?(3S)???b1,2(1P) ????(1S). We observe the transition ?b0(1P) ???(1S) for the first time. Using the known branching fractions for B[?(2S)???bJ(1P)], we extract values for B[?bJ(1P)???(1S)] for J=0, 1, 2. In turn, these values can be used to unfold the ?(3S) product branching fractions to obtain values for B[?(3S)???b1,2(1P)] for the first time individually. Comparison of these with each other and with the branching fraction B[?(3S)???b0] previously measured by CLEO provides tests of relativistic corrections to electric dipole matrix elements. � 2011 American Physical Society.

Abstract

We report on a study of exclusive radiative decays of the Upsilon(1S) resonance into a final state consisting of a photon and two K0s candidates. We find evidence for a signal for Upsilon(1S)->gamma f_2'(1525); f_2'(1525)->K0sK0s, at a rate (4.0+/-1.3+/-0.6)x10^{-5}, consistent with previous observations of Upsilon(1S)->gamma f_2'(1525); f_2'(1525)->K+K-, and isospin. Combining this branching fraction with existing branching fraction measurements of Upsilon(1S)->gamma f_2'(1525) and J/psi->gamma f_2'(1525), we obtain the ratio of branching fractions: B(Upsilon(1S)->gamma f_2'(1525))/B(J/psi->gamma f_2'(1525))=0.09+/-0.02, approximately consistent with expectations based on soft collinear effective theory., submitted to Brief Reports
