A professional Graduate Programme in Project Management is a suitable environment for addressing this issue since it carries favourable elements that enable integration between scientific and professional environments in research. This thesis aims to generate a framework of the Ecosystem of a University Research Centre in Project Studies (URC-Project Studies), to enhance the benefits of research developed in a professional graduate programme. A University Research Centre is a collaborative environment capable of bringing together and integrating academics, students, and practitioners from public and private organisations as well as project management associations to discuss the theoretical and empirical boundaries within projects. Drawing upon the epistemological Design Science paradigm and the Design Science Research (DSR) method, the prescriptive approach involves designing, developing, demonstrating, and evaluating an artefact (framework) to solve an organisational problem. As a result, the URC-Project Studies framework comprises four macro-elements: Project Studies; Impact Generation Process (Partners, Resources, Activities, Outputs, Outcomes, Impacts); Circumstances, Governance and Management; and Context, broken down into sixty elements. The framework provides a structure that is simultaneously holistic, integrative, and procedural. In the holistic view, the framework considers the context in which it is embedded; in the integrative view, it includes the governance and management processes considering the circumstances; and in the process view, it describes the elements that lead to the impact generation of the knowledge created. It also develops a perspective of knowledge co-creation between academics and practitioners in an approach of engaged scholarship. From a practical point of view, the framework provides an understanding of the ecosystem identified for the university management body, the research centre itself, and the engaged academics, as well as for external actors to discuss, plan, execute, and evaluate the phenomenon of collaboration for knowledge co-creation in Project Studies. As a theoretical contribution to the field of projects, the framework considers a macro-level perspective and emphasises relevance and rigour in Project Studies. The study contributes to Organizational Knowledge Creation Theory by including and discussing outcomes and impacts that derive from co-created knowledge in a URC-Project Studies environment and explores the concept of 'Ba' in its proposal for structuring, organising, and operationalising the 'Ba'. , The study's principle methodological contributions expand the applicability of the DSR to Project Studies, while the study itself supports using an anonymous qualitative method, the Delphi method, to conduct an artificial summative evaluation, in addition to more common methods. The URC-Project Studies ecosystem framework is a technological product classified as non-patentable and in line with the innovation line of research evident in projects from the Graduate Programme in Project Management at the Nove de Julho University. A produção de conhecimento em gestão de projetos enfrenta continuamente o desafio de aliar o rigor científico e a relevância prática. Um Programa de Pós-graduação stricto sensu profissional em Gestão de Projetos caracteriza-se como sendo um ambiente propício para endereçar tal questão, visto que carrega elementos favoráveis para viabilizar a integração entre os ambientes científicos e profissionais na realização de pesquisas. O objetivo desta tese é gerar o framework do Ecossistema de um Centro de Pesquisa Universitária em Project Studies (CPU-PS), para potencializar os benefícios das pesquisas desenvolvidas em Programa de pós-graduação profissional. Trata-se de um ambiente colaborativo capaz de articular e integrar acadêmicos, estudantes e praticantes de organizações públicas e privadas, e de associações de gestão de projetos para discutir fronteiras teóricas e empíricas em projetos. Valendo-se do paradigma epistemológico Design Science e especificamente do método Design Science Research, a abordagem prescritiva envolve projeto, desenvolvimento, demonstração e avaliação de um artefato (framework), para a solução de um problema organizacional. Como resultado, o framework do Ecossistema do CPU-PS é formado por quatro macroelementos: Project Studies; Processo de Geração de Impacto (i.e., Parceiros, Recursos, Atividades, Outputs, Outcomes, Impactos); Circunstâncias, Governança e Gestão; e Contexto, decompostos em sessenta elementos. O framework oferece uma estrutura simultaneamente holística, integradora e processual. Na visão holística, considera o contexto no qual se insere; na visão integradora, inclui os processos de governança e gestão à luz das circunstâncias; e na visão processual, descreve os elementos que conduzem à geração de impacto do conhecimento criado. Desenvolve, ainda, uma perspectiva de cocriação de conhecimento entre acadêmicos e praticantes, em uma lógica de engaged scholarship. Do ponto de vista prático, o framework fornece um entendimento do ecossistema identificado tanto para o corpo gestor da universidade, do próprio centro de pesquisa e dos acadêmicos envolvidos, quanto para atores externos para discutir, planejar, executar e avaliar o fenômeno da colaboração para cocriação de conhecimentos em Project Studies. Como contributo teórico para a área de projetos, considera uma perspectiva em nível macro e dá ênfase à relevância e ao rigor em Project Studies. O estudo traz um contributo para a Teoria da Criação do Conhecimento Organizacional ao incluir e discutir em ambiente de CPU, resultados e impactos que derivam de conhecimento cocriados e explora o conceito de 'Ba', em sua proposta de estruturação, organização e operacionalização. Como principais contribuições metodológicas, o estudo expande a aplicabilidade do DSR para a área Project Studies. Corrobora, ainda, o uso de método qualitativo anônimo (método Delphi) para realização de avaliação sumativa artificial, em adição aos métodos já existentes. O framework do Ecossistema de um Centro de Pesquisa Universitária em Project Studies é um produto tecnológico classificado como não patenteável e aderente à linha de pesquisa inovação em projetos do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Gestão de Projetos da Universidade Nove de Julho.

Overview and Aims: Numerous studies have shown that burnout has high incidence among medical doctors, being especially high among gynecologists and obstetricians. Since there is no known study on the incidence in this medical residency in Portugal, our primary goal was to evaluate the incidence of burnout in gynecologists and obstetricians, to understand which factors are most associated with the syndrome and to contribute to the prevention of burnout. Study Design: Cross-sectional survey. Population: Gynecologists and obstetricians practicing in Portugal. Methods: A survey was elaborated and validate by the authors about sociodemographic and professional and personal life questions with burnout assessment through Copenhagen Burnout Syndrome Questionnaire adapted to Portuguese. The questionnaire was addressed via e-mail to all members of the Portuguese Society of Gynecology and the Portuguese Society of Obstetrics and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Anonymity was ensured through the Google Forms platform. The results were analyzed using the SPSS statistical software. Results: It was obtained 217 responses; 56.7% of the gynecologists and obstetricians who participated in the study suffer from burnout, with an average of 54.9 points in the validated scale. Women doctors, younger specialists, few leisure activities; thinking about changing specialty; profession or institution/service; classification of workplace conditions; excessive workload, lack of career progression, lack of autonomy in managing working hours, inequality in working conditions and salary as causes of stress and anxiety; no activities for reducing stress and anxiety; and regular intake of anxiolytic and/or antidepressant drugs were more associated with Burnout. Conclusions: This analysis found a high incidence of burnout in the specialists of gynecology and obstetrics in Portugal, as reported in other international studies. In addition, it was possible to identify aggravating and protective factors amenable to intervention.
