International audience; In his study of Bakhtine, the linguist and semiotician Jean Peytard wonders how the discourse of ideology can be internalised by the subject. The German philologist Victor Klemperer has attempted himself to answer this question by analysing the Nazis’ speech from 1933 until the fall of Hitler’s regime. He identifies the main process observed and shows how the totalitarian discourse manages to transform the language and the way of thinking with the rhetoric of consent, which draws its strength from its « dreadful homogeneity » and its plurisemioticity.
