Displacement in the context of disasters and climate change has gained considerable attention in international policy processes pertaining to migration and displacement over the past few years. However, analysis of currently dominant understandings of disaster displacement and its solutions at the global level, and how these translate into practice in relation to operational realities at the national level, remains scarce. This paper seeks to promote greater reflections on the discourse of displacement solutions in the context of disasters and climate change. It examines both the advancements and remaining gaps in approaches to disasters, displacement, and solutions and how these collectively shape the conceptualisation of solutions to disaster displacement. The inquiry sheds light on the dominant framings and their underlying assumptions and highlights the implications that they entail for understanding and responding to disaster displacement. Universities are increasingly urged to take new responsibilities as agents of internationalisation as the globalisation of higher education intensifies the competition for international students and leads to transformation of national and European policy landscapes. Drawing on the case study of two leading universities in Denmark, this paper analyses how they navigate between "being internationalised" and "doing internationalisation" in this context and adjust their practices for attracting international students. It concludes by assessing factors that influence the universities' ability to act as agents of internationalisation and draws attention to the implications that these carry for understanding international student mobility in general. This paper examines how a translocal approach could enrich conceptualisations of human mobility in the context of the current climate regime. Drawing on the concept of 'translocal legalities', it is argued that a socio-legal and translocal analysis could inform the existing analyses of climate-related mobility. Through the case of post-cyclone Idai relocations in Mozambique, it demonstrates the need to capture multi-faced and multi-level aspects of climate-related mobility. This involves different degrees of adaptation but also inevitable losses and damages that defy conventional categorisation into economic or non-economic. A translocal approach, which is empirically grounded in local realities, but also takes into account national and international level developments, can enable a more nuanced understanding of climate-related relocations. It provides insights into both the adaptation and loss and damage aspects in their full complexities and thereby brings about a more informed perspective on human mobility in the current climate regime. This article seeks to challenge the dominant perspective among high-income countries that tend to relegate disaster displacement as a problem of developing countries alone, and to promote greater reflections on the impacts of technological disasters in the discussions on internal displacement. It does this by considering the consequences of the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan. By mapping the evolution of multi-dimensional displacement vulnerabilities of Fukushima internally displaced persons (IDPs) and how these have become intertwined with other more structural socio-economic factors of regional inequalities, economic insecurity, and social isolation over the years, this article illustrates that protracted disaster displacement is a difficult issue to resolve even in high-income countries. The conclusions shed light on the key realisations to be learned from the experiences of Fukushima IDPs to better frame the discussions on solutions in the context of disaster displacement and on displacement induced by technological disasters in particular. The article discusses the key role of the implementation of transitional but workable solutions in alleviating some of the adverse socio-economic and psychological challenges that displacement poses for the elderly. The challenges facing elderly in restoring their pre-disaster standards of living and regaining their economic welfare is tackled. The protracted displacement resulting from 2011 disasters in Japan has also taken a heavy toll on the physical and mental well-being of the elderly.
